We beg George for forgiveness and we ask him to save the franchise from getting completely Marvel'ed
I have a bad feeling about this.
>People shit on George for years
>Attribute all the good things about the OT to other people
>refuse to acknowledge that he ever did anything good
>George sells because SW fans are the worst and his work isn't appreciated anyway
>TFA comes out and has just as many problems as the prequels
>Everybody ignores the problems and rides its dick because it's not cool yet to hate on Disney like it was with George
George had a hard life
1. star wars has some of the worst source material
2. lucas made terrible creative decisions later in life
3. ep7 was fine
4. get over it
>it's a big industry now
>you cannot lose money, so the point is you are forced to make a particular kind of movie
>you have to adhere to a very narrow line of commercialism
>they would've never let me make thx without tricking them it was commercialism
PLEASE COME BACK GEORGE
come back george
i want more trade disputes and well-written monologues about love and when i was watching tfa i was dying for an insight into the protagonists thoughts on the irritability of sand
oh you got me, my opinions are invalidated - good job
He was never good, he got lucky, he was the original wachowski.
In fact I will go as to say his original team is what made it good, he was just a name.
Creating a 360 panoramic camera isn't enough to qualify to be a superior director.
Creating special effects in the 70s with 70s tech isn't enough to make a good director.
There's a lot more to movies than special effects you obvious millennial.
>But they're not good directors in any sense.
except george also excels in cinematography, story telling, world building, etc.
what does JJ excel at? More importantly, what did Irvin "le why ESB was good" Kershner do before ESB?
The story of star wars was already written before ANH was made. In fact since he only got to make one movie at that time, he had to take parts away from the sequels to have a complete first film (the death star blowing up)
fuck no are you shitting me?
starwars 5 and 6 felt like the same original #4
>world building and cinematography
sure okay, but that's not enough
I haven't seen JJs star wars yet.
Don't be mistaken, I'm not defending JJ here but Starwars 5,6,1,2 and 3 were nothing at all near special or noteworthy.
Starwars 4 was just a rewrite of hidden fortress and even stole some of the actual cinematography.
You type like you're simply trying to defend Gerog Locos, you're undergoing a change of mindset and it's making you upset so you're taking it out on the guy who opened your eyes.
Gerog Locos isn't good , he is and always has been a HACK.
>starwars 5 and 6 felt like the same original #4
those 3 acts are vastly different, did you even watch it
why did they feel the same? The worlds were different, the characters had faced new hardships and developed. At the end Luke came out a different man than #4 and you were put through his journey throughout the acts
>JJ has the pleasure of destroying two of the most popular science fiction/ fantasy franchises in history at the same time
>muh world building again
>it felt different to me
>their characters changed
Why couldn't he do the same with episode 1,2, and 3?
In fact the prequels had the same problem as the original.
All 3 movies were the same with slightly altered plots but mostly the same.
Jar Jar Sith reveal would've changed everything about those movies. Seeing as it didn't happen on screen, I don't see it as canon. Not going to happen either, the goyim wouldn't like that.
Hey I know where you're trying to take this and I'm not even going to give you the benefit of me putting in effort just for you to play some dumbass autistic internet bullet points game.
Garage Lucas is a hack and it's completely obvious to anyone who isn't a fanboy.
He stole the idea from Hidden Fortress, changed a few things around, kept most of the original plot just now it's scifi.
This is also proven by the fact that he never made anything good that deviated from that original 'stolen' design.
Do you even realize what you're asking?
I'm not going to put in hours, days of effort of literally having to rewatch all 6 movies, typing up pages of facts and citations just for you to make up dumbass opinions.
>w'w'well i had fun
They're not remarkable, memorable, noteworthy, not even innovative it's just childish storytelling.
I do recall even Garage Locos saying starwars is for kids.
you don't need days to explain how
>starwars 5 and 6 felt like the same original #4
there is no citations needed, just put to words what made you make that statement
unless of course you just wrote some shitpost without any thought
While the monologues about love and sand were perhaps the worst thing in the series, I would have preferred more talk about trade disputes to what we got. Really those things were for only 10-20 minutes of the second one, and while I didn't hate anything quite as much, at least a solid hour in the new one annoyed me almost as much.
Empire Strikes Back has the following plot: The Rebels have a new base on Hoth. The Empire finds them and drives them out. Luke goes to Dagobah based on commands from Obi-Wan's ghost in order to learn from Yoda. Meanwhile, Han, Leia, and the rest are stuck hiding in an asteroid belt because the Falcon's hyperdrive isn't working for some reason. Eventually the Empire gives up and leaves, so the team goes to meet Lando, one of Han's old friends, on Cloud City so he can fix the ship. But a bounty hunter figures out where they're going before they get there and reports back to the Empire, so the Empire gets there first and ambushes them. Darth Vader starts torturing them so that Luke will see their pain through the Force and come to rescue them. Han has a price on his head, so the bounty hunter takes him. Lando realizes he made a shitty deal when he sold out the team, and while he can't save Han, he frees everyone else. Luke shows up, fights Vader, learns Vader's his father, gets his ass kicked, and is rescued by Lando and Leia, then the whole team jumps to hyperspace and gets away.
Return of the Jedi's plot: Luke and the gang carry out a plan to save Han from the crime lord. The plan doesn't go smoothly, but is successful anyway. Luke's mentors tell him that he must confront Vader again. The Empire has another Death Star, protected by a shield on the forest moon of Endor. A Rebel strike team, led by Han, Luke, and Leia is dispatched to disable the shield. Luke allows Vader to capture him so that he can fight -- and redeem -- Vader, who then kills the Emperor. The strike team is late blowing up the shield, but manages it in the nick of time, at which point the Rebel ships fly inside the Death Star to destroy it.
You see how NONE of these are the same plot as ANH, OR Hidden Fortress?
Have you actually seen these movies EVER?
