>>48926899
If you're megapleb start with Bergman, Bresson, and Kieslowski. Bergman is perfect for beginning to appreciate cinema. He has very simple and eloquent cinema language that evolves into a nice depth.
I'd start with Wild Strawberries, The Seventh Seal, and Persona. Then if you appreciate these you must watch Cries and Whispers, Winter Light, and Fanny and Alexander.
Start wherever you want really. Find a director that sounds interesting to you and if you like him watch whatever in his filmography is acclaimed. Work your way into an understanding of cinema and make your way to Tarkovsky. He's sort of the shifting point between simple and complex plotless cinema.

Especially that last one is a good one because it's ripped directly from Tarkovsky's top ten list. Sight and Sound is an alright place to look, but it can be boring and lacking of a certain "liveliness"

It's worth watching, yes. But bear in mind that even when it was at the top of Sight and Sound polls, it only appeared on like 15% of the lists, so it's not like it's the unanimous greatest film ever made.
>>48927717

I'd personally recommend:
The General
Nosferatu
Citizen Kane
Vertigo
Ugetsu
The Rules of the Game
Bicycle Thieves
Seven Samurai
Picnic at Hanging Rock
Breathless
Those arent the best, but that's a good variety of different genres from different periods from different countries.

I need a Cyberpunk core as well.
>>48928212

>>48926841
what is anything made by leone doing in that list? please
>>48928174
Federico Blume, Armando Robles Godoy, Luis Figeroa, Ramón Pereda, Gabriel García Moreno... If you see any film made by these guys you can claim to be the ultimate patrician.
Keep in my mind that you might not find all films from these directors on the internet.
>>48928241
Not many people will be able to fulfill your request because 50%-75% of good cyberpunk movies are east-asia (Japan, Korea) produced, and never brought to USA, so they'd have to know multiple languages.
