Has anyone made it through his films more than once?
I liked revenant but I've tried three times to rewatch it and it's tough going.
Same with birdman. Couldn't even get through 5mins on second watch.
He is a one time wonder.
Same with Gravity too actually. Same approach
>rewatching films
nice meme
I watched birdman twice and it was not as good as the first run through.
I think he's like o e of those directors who banks entirely on the movie's ability to grab your attention in the short term. I get the feeling he'll be totally forgotten about in a decade, like most Hollywood darlings.
I cant imagine watching the revenant again. it's a great experience but no point watching more than once. especially if it's not in a cinema.
He is the only man who can save this new trilogy from being a complete and total creative flop.
I have no faith in Colin Trevorrow and I still do not understand why and how Disney (read : Kathleen Kennedy) trusted him with finishing this trilogy.

>I still do not understand why and how Disney (read : Kathleen Kennedy) trusted him with finishing this trilogy.
he made a crappy nostalgia pandering fflick that still made 2 billion, hes jj 2.0
Colin trevvorow is a known faggot. Only based Rian Johnson can save star wars now.
>TfA Jurassic World was so bad it ruined two of my old favourite franchises.
Fuck, at least the JP sequels have never been good anyway.
Remember how he was being pumped up as the lead for the new trilogy but now he's just a minor character lol
Meant to post this kek

He was great. Thread over.
In 3 he was eclectic and yet humble
In 4 and 5 he was on edge with the ministry
In 6 and 8 he's mellow and very close to how Harris was. Best in 3 and 6
>>81686277
who the fuck is harris?
Imagine how different BTTF would've been with Eric Stoltz as was originally intended.
what's the slime of television and film?
Rampant pedophilia in the industry, its toxicity and filth coats even the noblest of productions, stifling morality in art and leaving only a mockery of human experience on the screen

Do you think they feel stupid now when people realized that prequels were actually good movies and TFA is stinking pile of poo?
>>81686107
Yes but they will never in a million years admit they fucked up. The TFA review was proof enough of that. These greasy swarthy jew fucks are awful.

Cry more contrarian baby
Do we know who will be their next guest for the Selection Series?
Realistically, you'll have to try very hard to argue that this is a great movie. It's good at some points but mediocre at most others.
All in all a pretty forgettable found-footage flick of demons and ghosts with mouths opening in weird angles and a cast slowly losing their minds.
The true villain and the reason I made this thread, is because the location they are visiting is the true ominous force.
Within the asylum halls shift, doors that should lead places they've just been don't. Exits and hallways are blocked off without rime or reason. Time seems to drag on, and what should have been a 6-hour event is dragged into days of endless walking around a building that should be pretty straightforward.
And this is a concept I don't see used in many other horror movies, and wondered if /tv/ has any such recommendations that do this concept as good or better?
>>81685985
Might as well check out the sequel. Silent Hill sort of had that.
>>81686022
Oh I did! Grave Encounters 2 however failed to appeal to me because it thought the reason I like the first one was for the scary monsters. Which isn't the case. There are tons of movies out there that do "muh scary ghostdemons xD" much better than Grave Encounters or its sequel did.
Silent Hill (the first one at least) was a movie I enjoyed, but I the emphasis again falls on the spooky monsters and the shit that goes on with them.
What Grave Encounters 1 and the Silent Hill games (which I actually played on the recommendation that they felt like this movie) always felt like the TRUE threat was the location and not the monsters within.
The sense of despair and paranoia when two such fundamental rules as time and space twisting against logic is, to me, much creepier than jump-scares of asylum demons.
the tunnel
blair witch (original as well as the recent movie)
the objective
mr jones
resolution
not all great films, but neither was grave encounters, and most fit the bill with the setting being a malevolent force with time and space also fucking around
