Raimi had a deep love for the books and you can see it in the films he made.

Other than that it's a pretty dumb show. Lots of the characters are laughably unbelievable, the acting is hit or miss, and it doesn't have much in terms of a unifying theme. It's all over the place.

nora (sarah) is clearly just old

kevin jr kills himself to save the townspeople from the apocalypse, nora got old and mad because she was left behind. then she dies and goes to the hotel. kevin finds her and they'll sing karoke together and be sent back to a world where the departure never happened but the twist is her husband will be kevin their two kids will be lilly and another one they had together. the end.

Part of him lived vicariously through her youth as well, until he came to hate it.

She was a good character with a meaningful arc, she was herself an innocent kid who got swept up in this high romance w/ a handsome, rich executive, not realizing he was ultimately a deeply damaged, compulsive cheater unable to actually hold together a healthy marriage.
