Is there a movie you treasure, /tv/?
A movie you could call your own?
A movie made just for you?

that foriegn film about a bodyguard who falls in loves with his boss's daughter
Who is hyped for Twin Peaks season 3? Lynch said it's basically an 18 hour film cut into parts. Will it be his final work?
>>82147868
I don't think it will neccesarily be his final work, but he's made it in such a way that if it is, it'll be a great farewell. I expect INLAND EMPIRE 2.
>>82147868
it will be 18 episodes? most of the shows these days can't fill the time with interesting plot even in 10 episodes. TP season 2 had shit plot in the middle as well.
>>82148408
>interesting plot
Have you watched anything of Lynch's work?
Why was Aragorn crowned king? the people of Gondor don't know him, they don't know if he's capable of managing the kingdom, or if he's a tyrannical prick, or what his tax policies are. He wasn't even born in Gondor! The movie just has him crowned king all of a sudden, without any election or anything. Was Tolkien a hack?

Because he was of a superior race whose purpose was to rule over common men. Look it up.

renewed shall be the blade that is broken
the crownless again, shall be king
>main character is supposed to be a loser
>has a girlfriend
I hate it so fucking much when they do that. Also when he currently doesn't have one but it's implied or shown that he did have one in the past.
Idk if Scott Pilgrim counts as a loser but in that case it was sort of okay because anyone can get a 15 year old gf when they are 23 if they wanted to.
I knew I was not gonna enjoy Manchester By The Sea as soon as Affleck said he was married.
>>82147988
Scott is not a loser just a nerdy guy but he was supposed to good with women
The casting was fucking terrible

>Why shouldn't I work for the N.S.A.? That's a tough one, but I'll take a shot. Say I'm workin' at the N.S.A. and somebody puts a code on my desk, somethin' no one else can break. Maybe I take a shot at it, maybe I break it. And I'm real happy with myself, 'cause I did my job well. But maybe that code was the location of some rebel army in North Africa or the Middle East. And once they have that location, they bomb the village where the rebels are hidin'. Fifteen hundred people that I never met, I never had no problem with, get killed. Now the politicians are sayin', 'Oh, send in the Marines to secure the area,' 'cause they don't give a shit. It won't be their kid over there gettin' shot. Just like it wasn't them when their number got called 'cause they were out pullin' a tour in the National Guard. It'll be some kid from Southie over there takin' shrapnel in the ass. He comes back to find that the plant he used to work at got exported to the country he just got back from. And the guy who put the shrapnel in his ass got his old job, 'cause he'll work for fifteen cents a day and no bathroom breaks.
>Meanwhile he realizes the only reason he was over there in the first place was so that we could install a government that would sell us oil at a good price. And of course the oil companies used the little skirmish over there to scare up domestic oil prices. A cute little ancillary benefit for them but it ain't helpin' my buddy at two-fifty a gallon. They're takin' their sweet time bringin' the oil back, of course, maybe they even took the liberty of hirin' an alcoholic skipper who likes to drink martinis and fuckin' play slalom with the icebergs. It ain't too long 'til he hits one, spills the oil and kills all the sea life in the North Atlantic. So now my buddy's out of work. He can't afford to drive, so he's walkin' to the fuckin' job interviews, which sucks because the schrapnel in his ass is givin' him chronic hemorroids. And meanwhile he's starvin' 'cause every time he tries to get a bite to eat, the only blue plate special they're servin' is North Atlantic scrod with Quaker State.
>So what did I think? I'm holdin' out for somethin' better. I figure, fuck it, while I'm at it, why not just shoot my buddy, take his job, give it to his sworn enemy, hike up gas prices, bomb a village, club a baby seal, hit the hash pipe and join the National Guard? I could be elected president.
*ahem* What did he mean by this?

>employment ethics from the guy who trades the world for pussy and gets into construction-yard fights despite being well into his twenties
I know this part was meant to be really poignant and cool, but it just emphasizes how selfish and infantile he was.
>read the novels
>does all the stunts himself
>great movie plots
Can we all agree that he is the 2nd best Bond? The first spot obviously belonging to Connery.
1. Sean Connery
2. Timothy Dalton = Daniel Craig
3. Pierce Brosnan
4. Roger Moore
5. George Lazenby
Despite Lazenby's wooden acting, OHMSS is one of the greatest Bond films.
Up there with From Russia With Love.
>>82147403
Dude, how about this guy as Sherlock Holmes. he looks like sherlock holmes from books.
he is old tho
>>82147403
Change first spot to Craig and I agree.
>>82147468
If Connery had been post-synced as much as Lazenby was, he would have been thought wooden. Broccoli and Saltzman hadn't yet got the courage to recast properly, so Bond spends half the movie with a different actor's voice and in disguise.

Who the hell thought this was a good militar tactic? What a joke.

They have more Asians than they do spears, makes sense to me to try to get a 5 to 1 combo
>It's an anon doesn't understand why they do what they do when it's literally explained in the film in order to bait people episode
Sick of these re-runs. They literally say they only die if they're hit in the eye, seeing as hitting them in the eye with arrows is difficult, they use the spear jumpers to go down and stab their eyes.
>>82146956
It's a Chinese movie, starring fucking Matt Damon.
Of course it's stupid CHINA STRONK pandering.
why is this good? I thought it was boring.
am I wrong? if so I will change my opinion.
You're not wrong, it's 20 mins worth of film with an hour of prolonged silences.

The opening scene is good, the rest is shit

Some of the aesthetics and music are a throwback to 80s films and nostalgia fags love that. I like it but I understand why you wouldn't.

I haven't read archie comics in years, but they were pretty comfy and I hold a positive opinion about them. From what I gather - this show has a very serious tone, unlike the comics.
Should I watch it or not?
it's Riverdale 90210, shlocky teenage dram mixed with an overarching wannabe who killed X Twin Peaks mystery with hot waifus.
watch the first episode and decide from there
Name a better director.you can't

terrible cover
covers are almost the most important part for me, criterion lost a costumer. Sad! No interesting extras either!

Isn't it the first blu ray release tho? That alone would make it worth it.
This cover is much nicer
