Who praises it? I've heard people call it all right, but I never see anyone claim it's better than the original.

I was okay with the fact that they expanded on the family's situation that was addressed in the 1974 script but excised from the filmed version, yet they fucked up Leatherface himself. It seemed so wrong to have him sneak around and search for Biel.

Friday the 13th is the true GOAT 2000s horror remake. Halloween 2 is pretty awesome, but barring the opening, it's a remake in name only.

Snyder's Dawn of the Dead didn't blow the original film out of the water like the F13 remake did. While the bar is considerably higher for Dawn of the Dead, I think that should count for something. It was a decent zombie flick, but being a remake didn't really serve it -- it could've been called anything, while F13 used its slasher template to its advantage.

I have a feeling that Damon didn't want to focus too hard on the religious aspect of it and instead treat the disappearance as a mystical mysterious kind of thing, with characters thinking that its religious.
The opening credits for season one are great and I like them a lot better than the new ones but they heavily imply that october 14th was some kind of rapture

it all felt a little rushed to me, i would of preferred

>jack rescues ashi
>they team up and fight aku together
>aku dies and taunts jack that he will never get back to the past
>jack doesn't care anymore
>he has all his friends and the women he loves around him
>we see a montage of jack starting a family with ashi
>because aku is dead jack is now ageing
>we see an older jack, he is now "king jack"
now there are two possible endings i see from here

To Catch a Thief is such a let down of a movie. It had all the right stuff but just didn't work.
