Those scenes in the casino gave me a strange feeling of Hope. It was the same feeling i had when that old waiter brought co-coffee to almost dead Cooper at the end of season 1.
Lynch touches on little things like that, like some sort of ASMR...it feels quite comfy.

When she spoke to the nun she said something about the birds spreading those messages of love made for a better story. So maybe Nora concoted that story to make her feel better about not going there, also it seems very farfetched, even for the show.

Because it was a nicer story. Because she saw Kevin, the married couple and the nun lying and how happy they were. Because for the entire series she's been obsessed with finding the truth and destroying people who lie but she's now realized that the only way to get over her kids is to lie. Because she can finally pretend that her kids are alright and let them be.
It's likely that a "parallel universe" does exist but she never saw it.

I have to say that season 5 is fucking brilliant. From the casting decisions for young Nucky, cop-Nucky, young-Gillian. Honestly, how do you find a fucker that resembles a younger Steve Buscemi? Young Gillian's mannerisms, inflection were all spot on. It was great casting.

The very last scene of young Nucky underwater, with the narration of the poem:

as he actually grabs the coin, as actual-Nucky dies

I don't know. The show was never my favourite, but there were so many plots, moments, characters, and humour that really fucking stuck with me.

Overall, the two worst things about the show: Jimmy dying too early in the show. Arnold Rothstein not being in the last season -- yeah, I know he was dead by then IRL, but fuck it, I love Stuhlberg.

There is no helping them. They have a chemical makeup in their brain that gives them a personally which makes them think it's okay to inflict pain on others for no reason. It is no one's fault. The same way a person is born with a physical defect is the same way a person may be born without empathy and a violent nature. Just like a rabid dog they should be put down. They must be culled from the gene pool.
