Why is he such a deceptive snake? Are all journalists like this?
>>84131716
>Why is he such a deceptive snake?
tbf he wasn't a serious journalist/documentary maker at first. His sarcastic style was perfect for the early stuff.
>Are all journalists deceptive snakes?
Yes. I've been in a popular womans magazine and a national newspaper, both times they lied about what I'd said and frankly just made shit up to sensationalise the story.
Aw op did he say something to hurt your feelings? Do you want to talk about it? It might make you feel better!
>>84131798
... I'll elaborate..
When I was 16 my gf and I were stopped in the street and asked questions by 2 journalists working for Womans Own magazine. A pretty big magazine in England. They were doing a story on kids buying Lottery scratchcards. We answered a bunch of questions, had some pictures taken and gave them our details. A few weeks later the double page article appeared, and, apart from our names, they'd literally just made the rest up, They'd said I was 14, hooked on scratchcards/gambling 24/7 etc and made up a bunch of shit about what I'd do if I won the lottery.. buy Cars, Jets whatever, even though I'd told them I never play the lottery, and if I won I'd share it between family etc
Few years later I was interviewed for a local paper after scoring 2 goals on my debut for a local football team. I can't remember what I'd said, or what the article said, but what they printed was just 100% made up BS.
NEVER trust what you read in the papers. It's printed purely to sell papers
What do you guys think of Metropolis (1927)?
>>84131706
We only watch capeshit and BLACKEDI actually feel bad for not having watched such an influential kino yet
I saw the cut after they found a bunch of lost footage in the theater and it's really interesting but I found it very difficult to follow, even with the explanations for the missing scenes that they added during the film. Definitely a tragedy that we don't have a full pristine copy of this film, it's unique.

Tough watch in terms of patience, but obvious why it's lauded as a landmark in filmmaking.
If you read up on the 1920s Weimar fear of the "new woman" with more power (voting, etc.) and short hair, the "vamp" is a neat figure to look at with that in mind.
I just wish they hadn't lost the original footage and had to cobble the version we have together from bits and pieces...I heard recently they found new footage but I haven't seen the newest cut.
The great debate

Nothing personal, Fido
I never knew the backstory to this gif, but I'm sure the owner was in the wrong. How do you fuck up so badly that you get an aggressive lab? However, Cesar Milan was also in the wrong, since it's common knowledge to not fuck with a dog while it's eating.

Is there a movie or tv show you're too embarrassed to tell people you like?
>>84131643
Nope. Because I am secure in myself.
I unironically enjoy Love Actually and always watch it if it's on TV at Christmas time

Have they done that? Where it's a "like that time when..", then, in the new setting, immediately leads with another "like that time when..", then another, with the whole punchline being the selfcaricaturization of their setup?

Remember when an actor playing the lead of a career-criminal in a film, looked like he had some character (or at least a few forehead wrinkles) due to the myriad of shit he'd probably witnessed, while perfecting his particular illegal craft over many, many years while not dying from it?
Steve McQueen remembers. Or he would, if he wasn't dead.
Okay I dont get this movie. Is this just an overblown parody of Driver or what?
