what are some good story lines from superhero comics that would actually make good capeshit-kino?
It seems like every fucking superhero movie is either just a dull, paint-by-numbers origin story or a dull mishmash of different comics stories with a shit villain thrown in.
In the hands of a capable director and actors, which story from any comics run could actually become the first capeshit masterpiece?

I liked the whole voice over thing in Days of Heaven, but now he uses it in all of his films and it's just obnoxious and annoying now. someone needs to tell Malick that he missed his chance when he left Hollywood after Days of Heaven. I also really didn't like Tree of Life that much.

Mainly this. Cage is good for insane faces, laughing like a madman and generally playing it over the top. Which doesn't really sit well with a more reserved and absurdist comedy like Coens do.

I agree.And I really liked it. I guess in the comic their life is expanded about. Within 77 minutes of the movie the studio had to move characters from A to B which resulted in somehow nihilistic (in a bad way) message.
