ITTT: what is your guilty pleasure movie/tv series or a film that you love and no-one else does
Ron Howard's Grinch
Super Mario Bros
The Pest
>>84321254
ron howard's Grinch shouldn't be a guilty pleasure. should just be a pleasure
>man-faced bong broad who irritatingly breaks the
fourth wall; bellyaches about modern life and "dating"
>first 90 seconds of the 1st episode introduces us to a scene where she stoically accepts anal sex from a new suitor
Is it kino?
>>84320896
No.
>>84320896
>stoically accepts anal sex from a new suitor
Does this happen in reality?
>>84320896
>he didn't watch it
It's just 6 20 min episodes m8, give it a go. There's some pretty good drama, writing and directing are top notch and it has one of the most realistic modern feminist characters written in recent memory. In the sense that she's a colossal fuckup and totally despicable
You know it's Kubrick's best.
Honestly i didn't expect the whole holy trinity angle with nazis present but it makes sense man.
>>84320820
who'd even argue that?
2 & 3 are Clockwork Orange and 2001 for me.
I've only seen 2001, strange love and eyes wide shut. Have I seen his best or is there more?
Thoughts? Did you like it? Was it too edgy?
I thought it was enjoyable but not too great. James Mcavoy is a fantastic actor though, I'm glad he's getting some bigger roles. Also Imogen Poots or w.e is jaw droppingly gorgeous in this movie .

guys i need your opinion about ethics
im making a short film, and one scene requires me to kill a couple alive fishes, and im starting to have doubts if i should do it, i mean on one hand there is this saying that no piece of art in the world is worth more than even a life of a worm, and then theres a scene in oldboy where a guy eats a live squid. What should i do?
>>84320232
Fish don't feel pain.
no way to edit the film to not actually kill em?
i'd have problems with this dilemma too OP
>>84320791
well not really, they wont be killed on screen lets say, but they wont survive the shoot, i will need atleast 4.
>>84320611
i thought this too but i did some research and apparently there are lot of scientists who believe they actually do.
is he a good actor?
Well...at the very least he was, but much like Pacino and DeNiro he's fallen in a rut of near self-parody.
>>84320048
literally no
>>84320048
Leonard Cohen wasn't an actor
Interstellar is a good movie
>>84319899
Nothing to write home about. It was good.

Your pic is the reason why it wasn't, sorry.
>the answer is LOVE
I honestly imagine everyone bitching online about Star Trek Discovery for having a PoC female main character and a PoC female figure of authority to be white boys.
Am I right?
I imagine that you're a false-flagger trying to stir up trouble.
Anyway, that's just the crew for the pilot episode. The rest of the series has a white male as the captain.

The biggest problem with STD is the fact the Captain is not the main character, but just a stupid incopetent fool.

Why the fuck would they make their names rhyme? Were the writers autists?
I like it
i've always wanted a gf with the female version of my name, dunno why
>>84319586
Roseanne doesn't rhyme with Daniel.
Just finished this. This is it right? It's all downhill from here. I'm never going to watch a better TV show.
What can replace this? What do I even watch now? The Sopranos is even that good, I haven't watched it.
H-hold me, /tv/. This was such a blissful ride and I'm sad it's over.
The Wire thread.
Sopranos is better in my opinion, you should definitely check it out. Also Mad Men and Deadwood
>>84319173
The Sopranos is much better than this pretentious show.
>>84319204
>>84319213
The Wire was so good that I can't imagine a better show.
What makes Sopranos better?
holy shit guys this movie was great. so many questions to be asked!!!Who opened the door? What did the dog (and Travis in the dream) see? Why did Will lie about his brother? Did he know the two people that Paul shot? Are Travis's parents also sick?
Not since Cache and Mulholland Drive has a movie's narrative intrigued me more, this is a really great movie guys. The cinematography, tone, and acting are all stellar.
Yet another A24 win
Hello OP. I will bump your thread even though it will die anyway. Ye it is a good movie, definitely a pleb filter. Everyone in the theatre i was at hated it and loudly voiced their displeasure with the ending. I liked it though.
>Who opened the door?
travis
>What did the dog see
it
>Why did will lie about his brother
personal gain
>Did he know the people Paul shot?
Never clearly answered but doesn't really seem like it, otherwise he wouldn't have argued against shooting them because they would've made it clear to Paul that they were with him and then Paul would've killed will as well.
>Are Travis' parents also sick?
Yes, everyone is
>>84318808
I think that Travis had something to do with opening yhe door because he wanted to get his dog who was obviously attached to. As for what they saw, I can only imagine. Perhaps something more dark and distorted than what his grandfather had become in his dreams. I think Will lied about his brother because it sold better, after all, Paul wanted him to convince him. Will could've known the two men, and had been using his actions (beating the man) as a cover. Also he wanted Paul to spare them, they could've both played the part in not knowing each other while Paul kept him alive and found a way to take them over. But since he shot him, the idea may have seemed pointless as they were outmanned and in need of a new group. As for Travis' parents being sick, it looked like his mothers eyes were beginning to turn black; if that was the case, it stands to reason that the dad is too. So that would explain the final scene of them sitting in silence. It was all for nothing.
Tl;dr
Travis. A more mutated and hideous version of what the grandpa was in his dreams. To seem legit. It's likely. Yes.
Imo
>>84318808Who opened the door? The kid I think
What did the dog (and Travis in the dream) see?
Probably an infected way off in the distance
Why did Will lie about his brother?
No, I think that was a red herring for the audience
Did he know the two people that Paul shot?
Again, I'm thinking misdirection
Are Travis's parents also sick?
At the end yes
