It's fucking amazing for most of the season and then during the last episode or two, it trips over itself and falls off a cliff. Still, I'm looking forward to where it goes.

That's a little reductive, but yeah. It's mostly a psychological thriller on Splenda done as a bunch of cool little overdesigned dioramas, shot in slow motion with music that's way too on the nose. It's nice to look at initially, but begins to get visually exhausting very quickly. I dropped it about half way, but it's a short season so check it out maybe.

I didn't give a shit about any of the characters. Aside from Tumblr Hair and Conspiracy Boy they had almost completely interchangable personalities.

Some of the kills were a little uncreative, and of course showing a monster (not necessarily """the witch""" since I don't believe Wingard's that fucking stupid) was a total studio move.

Other than that, I actually did like some of the kills (Tumblr Hair being snapped in half is great) and it had some really neat lore surrounding it. What really kills it, though, is the gimmick of found footage was long dead by the time this came out. It was a last grasp at a genre that doesn't really exist anymore.

It was simply all over the place, there was no cohesion once the group got separated. They took any spooky thing they could think of and tossed it in, between the root and the lights and the awful CGI and the voodoo and the tunnel (which ended up being totally pointless.) And like you said, half the kills were just lame (tree falls on guy, girl falls out of tree, durr.)

There were definitely some good ideas, like the time distortion (before the absolutely retarded twist,) but they could not follow up on their set up in any way. Scooby and the gang get separated, killed off screen, and then go to a funhouse where nothing happens. This script was a total hack job designed to make the commercials and set up sequels, and their behavior on the commentary was so piss poor they shouldn't be allowed to make movies ever again.

A lot of the scenes in Jessica Jones made me almost vomit. Sometimes it looks like a skull wearing a wig and a cheap mask. I like her as the character though. Why is there a purple light? I thought Purple Man was dead.

He was easily the best character on that show.
I like him because he seems just like another guy who just sorta fell into acting not because he was passionate about acting or giving a great performance but because he could.
