I've seen quite a few people use this movie a conservative movie, but I really think the opposite. Throughout most of the movie, Jones' character demonstrates a belief that criminals - and things in general - are worse than they used to be, that society has somehow degraded. This is particularly apparent in the opening monologue and in his conversation with his counterpart just after Moss is murdered.
Then, though, the movie pulls the rug out from the under the audience with Jones' uncle's story, the point of which is that country life has always been violent and there have always been monstrous people in that land. The movie's suggesting that Jones is wrong, and that people have always been violent - and always will be.
And that ends up being a pretty common theme in a lot of McCarthy's work (e.g. Blood Meridian). So my point is that it's not particularly conservative, and is really pretty apolitical in general. It's more of a statement about humanity. (that's obviously not what the whole movie is about; there's also a lot of stuff you could say about Jones' character and what he represents, but that's not relevant to what I'm talking about).
I think OP is right and he's also a pretty cool guy
Bump for interest

Do you watch Twin Peaks or GoT first?
I only watch the one good show of those two
>>85350383
Candie will always come first.
GoT also has far, far less waifus.
Twin Peaks of course. I already know the entire plot of this season of GoT and it's all filler till the finale.
Twin Peaks is switching to 8 PM in two weeks anyway though.

Title: The One Black Guy
The movie opens with a voice over comment like this: You have seen white people's movies and black people's movies. But have you ever wondered what's the life like being the one black friend in white people's movies? Well this is a movie about: The One Black Guy
It's a cliche parody comedy.
Back to 2001/9/11
just as the guys are heading the airplanes toward NYC, a giant alien spaceship appears on top of WTC, and calls the Earth to surrender.
The airplan's radio is jammed somehow so the terrorists have to make truce with the passengers and borrow their pones to call Bin Laden. Bin Laden realizes his position is blown but he must put humanity before himself so he orders the guys to crash the airplanes into the alien spaceship. The hijackers also ask for permission from the passengers who also agree with the crash. They reconcile with each other, pray together and make the crash.
The crash works. The alien ship falls and crushes the two towers. But the world is saved and humanity is united.
Oliver Stone's World Trade Center
A film about the Mossad agents that planted the bombs in the towers, vaguely like Munich.

i loved it tho

It's pretty dull. It doesn't really deliver. Disappointing ending.
was pretty good compared to other american comedys
As an aviation enthusiast this movie did not scratch my itch. The "ace" did several egregious piloting sins to produce a more visually consumable picture at the expense of realism.
1. Flying low across the channel. There is literally no reason to do this other than to show off the speed of the planes to the audience. Altitude is life insurance and flying low like that is suicide. Right off the bat I knew Nolan was pandering to the masses instead of creating a realistic portrayal of aerial combat.
>>85349174
2. Performing a negative G maneuver.
Are you fucking kidding me? Yes, it was realistic, but the only reason it was in the movie was because some retard just recently made a super popular "engineering" video on the spitfire's "fatal" flaw and Nolan wanted to jerk off everyone who knew this little factoid. In reality all spitfire pilots were well informed about negative g maneuvers and no "ace" would ever get baited into one.
>>85349184
3. Tailgating a bomber.
Sitting behind a bomber is how you die a very stupid and avoidable death. An "ace" would never tailgate a plane while a machine gun is shooting at him. One bullet in the engine and you're toast. Yet in the movie he sits behind the bomber for a good ten seconds and somehow all the bomber's bullets are deflected as if they were bbs.
4. And worst of all the movie didn't even feature deflection shooting.
I thought Nolan would first show a scene with a rookie pilot shooting directly at a plane and having all his bullets fall short, then later having him learn from his mistake leading his shots on his second pass, scoring a critical hit to give the audience a feel for what it was truly like to be in the cockpit of a spitfire.
>>85349184
5. And last but not least, he crashed the plane with no survivors.
In reality, a big guy with a master plan would never play right into the CIA's hands like that. Jesus Christ.
>You know it's, it's, "Newer", which is good, and a "Ma" in front of it. MA-NURE.
>When you consider the other choices, Manure is actually pretty refreshing.
