STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERN!
Why do critics tend to hate all horror movies, unless they are more funny than scary and contain self-aware camp?
Horror movies are garbage for stoners and edgy 14 year olds. That's why.
Let's just get the obvious thing out of the way, the majority of horror movies just aren't that good.
I think a lot of contemporary acclaim for older classic horror movies is simply nostalgia and if they were released today they would be incredibly panned.

I don't know anon, I'm about to get lmao'd and watch a couples episodes on ITV2+1 though, which could make them at least watchable

Ignoring the potential bait of this post, season 8 and below is fine.
After that jokes are funny in isolation but the plotlines are extremely uncreative or mean spirited.
Every joke involving Joe either involves making light of his disability, how nobody likes him, or how he wants to kill himself.
I used to know a girl. She had a dozen guys. One of them found out about it... beat her up so bad she ended up at a hospital on Guerrero Street.

>Although completely cut off, the French fought on for four days under General Molinié, thereby keeping seven German divisions from the assault on Dunkirk and saving an estimated 100,000 Allied troops.[34]"
>The desperate resistance of Allied forces, especially the French 12th Motorised Infantry Division from the Fort des Dunes, bought time for the evacuation of the bulk of the troops. The Wehrmacht captured some 35,000 soldiers, almost all of them French. These men had protected the evacuation until the last moment and were unable to embark.
>During the evacuation from Dunkirk between 30 000 and 40 000 soldiers in the French rearguard that had covered the retreat were left behind
OI mate look at these brave British heroes standing on the beach being picked up by fishing boats
if anything, you should be welcoming this movie as it's going to popularize the truth about the british being big surrendering dweebs like the french
>>85185009
So? The British were in France to defend the French anyway, don't you think they had somewhat of a duty to cover their allies retreat before they surrendered like utter cowards? They did the bare minimum of what was expected of them toward their allies (unlike in WW1 where the French were constantly fucking up British strategic successes), and then threw in the towel after only a few weeks of fighting to round off the most utterly humiliating, and total defeat of any major nation in military history.
What are you going to put in that movie? How about the French army getting completely BTFO at every turn? How about the French sitting around for months in 1939 just waiting to hand the strategic initiative to the enemy? How about a movie where the French Resistance was a complete myth and they have to be liberated by two of their most hated rivals? How about a movie where they are utterly schooled in resistance tactics by just about every other nation on Earth who put up a more convincing fight than they did?
Fucking ungrateful frogs. If I had been French in 1940 I would probably have killed myself in shame and disgrace. But being French I would probably have been too cowardly to go through with it.

>ESB

>ROTJ
Reveal of construction of 2nd Deathstar. Reveal of fully operational weapon. Gets destroyed.
The problem with the Deathstars is twofold:
They spent 22 years from design to completion on the first one. They spent 4-5 years on the second.
The Empire can't cover much ground with only one superweapon, so instead of having the second Deathstar being built as a consequence of the first one being destroyed, only to being forced to come up with new ones, larger and more difficult to destroy (not really), for each film, we should instead have a reveal in this new triology:
The first and second Deathstar were only two out of hundreds of Deathstars, that all were being built throughout the years between episode 2 and 4. When the Rebels destroyed the first Deathstar, the Empire was already far into the construction of the second one (eliminating the problem with amount of years it took to build,) and there's a whole brigade of Deathstars spread throughout the galaxy (eliminating the problem with how easy they are to destroy, since we don't see them as the ultimate threat anymore, anyway.)
I'd rather see a space battle involving a number of Deathstars, than the farce that was the Starkiller Base. The Starkiller should be revealed later in the trilogy, with several Deathstars guarding it, so that we would see the size comparisons as actual space stations onscreen, instead of a stupid hologram in a forced Resistance Base briefing scene.
