Nolan is a fucking hack.
Except atonements dunkirk scene makes it seem like a merry theme park that the soldiers were enjoying
Nolan lacks both style and substance, but this didn't need to be its own thread.

You have to go back you smelly nigger
Why is the background so ridiculously blurred here? Is it greenscreen?
Ever use a camera before?
Depth of field anon
Cameras do it, your eyes do it.
Put your finger near your face and the background will blur.

Tarantino's advanced cinema skills
Hey /tv/. Long-time lurker here.
I'm doing some 3D animation as a hobby, I've been doing it for years now for little side projects and freelance work, but I've been dabbling with making full shorts (like 3-5 minutes long each). For the first time, I've been having to use cameras for my animations rather than just making the animation itself and exporting it. Anyway, not to ramble too much here, but I was wondering if some of you know of some good resources for scene composition, good camera work, and other tidbits of advice I can read up on to improve my scenes?
Also, I'm welcome to discussion and examples from movies as to what you guys personally think looks good in a shot, along with general do's and don't's.
Thank you!!
How did pic related feel about Skywalker becoming Lord Vader? I'm pretty sure he's sentient and can feel emotion, as well as being quite clever. But how did he cope with his best friend going over to the "dark side" they fought so hard against together?
It's not really sentient it spends the entirety of TFA shut down for no good reason

Well it's like half a century old by then
I understand why Emma Stone was memed as a 'good actress'
Just saw this movie and enjoyed it, but I find the production kind of strange. What's up with the speed of the movie? Almost every shot seems slightly "sped up" as if it was on fast forward. I don't understand the rationale...I don't think it looks particularly great and it kind of takes me out of the movie a bit. Why did they decide to do that, especially with their commitment to use real action and not CGI? But the sped up pace makes it feel artificial anyway
Also why is the film so orange

The original Mad Max movies used that technique a lot.
Holy shit.
Literally the best thing ever related to comics and best tv show ever created. How did this happen
>says something rational with her voice cracking in the middle, implying an emotional disagreement
>makes an overly impassioned plea to the captain
>humorously misinterprets a common human euphemism
>>85552910
>says something in an regal yet dismissive tone. The authority carried in her voice and carefully placed words only belie the inexorable fate of the whimpering, naked man prostrate before her.
>P-please- I don't want to be a b-borg
Fuck you /tv/, this is corny

Great visuals, but lackluster script
>"Peter, there's something you must know. The Jew is immunized against all dangers: one may call him a scoundrel, parasite, swindler, profiteer, it all runs off him like water off a raincoat. But call him a Jew and you will be astonished at how he recoils, how injured he is, how he suddenly shrinks back: "I’ve been found out.""
Thanks for the good advive uncle ben

ITT: essential anti-capitalism kino
Anything by Sergei Eisenstein.
But he was literally a propagandist. Also Communism sucks.
>>85268924
I didn't necessarily mean anything pro-Socialism. Just anything critical of capitalism.

What was he thinking in those moments?
What do you think of this movie
