why can't Brits into humour?
>>86915399
it was pretty cringy when Gervais tried to find some deep meaning to why that was funny instead of just realizing it was just silly juvenile shit

>Why can't Brits into humour

He was never all that good. I enjoyed "You're Next" and "The Guest," but they were also loaded with inconsistent characterization, plot holes, faulty logic, etc. He managed to find a tone with those two films where his particular brand of shittiness just worked, the flaws could easily be dismissed as an intentional feature of the genre.
He was just in over his head with something like "Death Note." Not that the source material is a masterpiece, it had its own flaws for sure. But the whole appeal of that series was to watch two "genius" characters in an increasingly complicated struggle to avoid being caught by each other. It depends on detailed, logical plotting and Wingard just wasn't the right guy for that.

didn't he do the new Blair Witch? that was kinda crummy too.
>what went wrong?
The indie film industry heaping praise onto this guy for no reason. He's never made a good movie, but for some reason, people have been jacking him off for years. The only way I can even think to explain it that people liked the parts of his movies that worked (like the retro imagery of The Guest) and completely ignored everything that didn't because they wanted him to get better. Now he's incapable of listening to criticism and has an unreasonable high opinion of his abilities.
why isn't he in more movies?
MIllenials are fragile cunts and people nowadays dont give a shit about proper aciton heroes, its the dawn of strong women and people of color white boi

Because he's nearly 80 years old and had two heart attacks this summer.

this. also nowdays it's all about movie franchises
only 1 'oldschool' action actor still got power to bring asses into seat. Arnie/Stallone/Seagall and rest is done, but can't bruise the [Tom] Cruise. Even rather bad 'Mummy' got pass 400 mil worldwide, mostly coz of Cruise.
Greetings green brother
Cast Stacy Martin.

TV may re-cast actor for Death Note (the original stuff from the manga, not the Netflix shit story).

Dafoe was a good Ryuk (acting-wise) so he can be kept.
Which tv series or movie has the DEEPEST Lore?
My thoughts go to Game of Thrones.

Always bothered me that the same houses have been holding the same lands with not change in leadership or borders for like 8000 years according the the GoT history.
There are a couple of changes but they are always really sudden and clean like the Tyrells taking over from the Gardeners just because Aegon said so
Dwarf fortress world generation
Rome
Not a single monster has been shown and I'm on episode three.
It's shit, isn't it?
>blacked scenes
>false rape accusations
>the main character is raising his wife's daughter

Season 3 when?
Ask a guy who just ate entire 1 pound bag of Dum Dums anything.
Took me about 3 hours to do.
Is this film equal to Blade Runner in portraying the human condition? Genuinely believe it belongs in the all-time Top 10 pantheon.
>>86914492
Blade Runner is overrated trash just because Han Solo is in it
>>86914492
This movie is honestly so fucking underrated it hurts
>10/10 writing
>10/10 acting
>perfect balance between comedy and drama
It should be considered a modern classic
Next week I'll finally accomplish my purpose in life. I'll go to Bruges and watch In Bruges while being in Bruges.
Might as well kill myself afterwards
