I'm going to Iran for 9 days. Anyone been there? Do you have any tips? Any important shit to know before going there? Any off the beaten track places to go? Thanks bros!
I'm assuming you're not an American, or you have family in Iran or something.
If that's not the case I know for a fact you can only travel in Iran with a state sanctioned guide. So wherever he takes you is where you're going. Have fun.

Same rules apply to Canadians and Brits btw.
I'm Czech, so I don't have to use the guide.

Don't go OP, /trv/'s certified Travel Safety Expert has issued a well-informed travel warning against Iran. Don't be a fool. >>1076252

/trv isn't the place for your mocking trolling nonsense. We. Don't.Care.For.It.
Just go and take this drama attempt with you.

He's not wrong. You run the risk of being arrested as a spy for absolutely no reason.

My country has pretty good relations with Iran, so that won't be an issue. Also give me some notable instances of people there being arrested for espionage.
Obviously you have to be smart. I'm obviously not gonna do urban exploration in military complexes. Iran is perfectly safe if you're not an autistic retard and if you obey the local laws

Another bump, hoping to go this year.

If you arrive via Teheran or Shiraz you should travel via train at least once, its really cheap and the landscape is beautiful, plus if its a sleepr car its a great way to meet iranians, there is some swiss guy who offers booking in advacen via paypal on his website for the tickets.
