ITT: tell us about the coolest, unusual museums you have in your city/ you've seen abroad.
Obviously, non-art museums are preferred
I'm from Krakow, Poland and we have a very nice pharmacy museum here. With tons of paraphrenalia and what not. It's about $4 to enter.
pic unrelated

The Stephan Audel memorial museum inside the biggest christmas tree in Germany (or the world), in Wermelskirchen. He was a hero.
>>1262056
We have the holocaust Museum here in Berlin. Hilarious stuff
>>1262056
Icelandic Phallological Museum in Reykjavík. A penis museum.
I'm going to Houston in July. I like drankin microbrews, museums, and neature walks. Not so much into clubbing.
What's the cool shit to do?
>>1261816
Galveston down the road is way more legit history-wise. Don't walk outside the tourist areas at night, though.
Galveston Pleasure Pier
An oil derrick museum accessible by land via a pedestrian bridge
the very old downtown
Also, if you like ghost tours, this place has 'em. Pirates, Civil War soldiers, dead bodies floating in space inside buildings from the 1900 Hurricane that killed like 9,000 people, etc.
>>1261856
I'm not big into ghost tours, but a "very old downtown" sounds pretty dope. I'll check out the oil derrick museum.
No one else has any tips on Houston?
I call it "last day depression". I'm a cunts hair away from crying. Is it because the adventure is over? Is it because it's time to get back into reality? Perhaps I'm devastated that I won't meet up with any of the several people I met along the way....
Anyways, I'm just venting. My two week romp through Europe has ended.
Does anyone else get emotional over the ending of a trip?
I usually get this the day after I get back.
On the last day of the trip I'm too stressed out worrying about packing and making my flight on time.
You're back into the hamster wheel.
Play the game, but don't forget it is a game.
One day you might break free from it. Trust me THAT is scary.
>>1268185
How to break free from the game cryptic anon?
Can a Britfag tell me how much the "Southern" train between London's Victoria Station and Brighton is? Google isn't cooperating with me.

The trainline website is better, and National Express or Megabus buses are much cheaper.
Over 20 quid mate. But why the fuck would you want to go to slum-by-sea Anyway? It's hippie central.
Any advice on where/which are good clubs in Stockholm? Heard it's expensive and often the limit age is +- 23 (I'm 20).
And also, is "lunch beat" that popular? Seems fun
Here's my tourist pic for ya
Daily bump
The age limit thing is true for the expensive adult places, there's always places for youths as well, though obviously they tend to be a bit shittier.
I was never big on the club scene in Stockholm (always just tagged along since my friends knew all the "cool" places) but I remember liking Fasching (kind of upscale jazzy livre-music place), trädgården (they do have the age limit sometimes, you have to check), and maskineriet (free entry! No wardrobe a bit undergroundy place right next to Central station)
Dunno about lunch beat anymore
>>1266352
Many times the doormen/security guards will overlook your age deficiency and let you in if you're a non-Swede with a passport as foreigners can give the club more panache. Of course, this doesn't apply if you're brown/muzzie.
As of 9 hours ago, there is more freedom here than any place in the western hemisphere. Depending on your criteria, could it have more freedom than literally any place in the world?
>>1268584
Because weed and hookers? Certainly freedom means more than that?
>>1268594
Well sure it does but ok for example?
Portugal legalized all drugs but is that country really more free than Nevada?
>>1268598
Define "free"
Americans are "free" to go bankrupt from medical bills but i don't think that sounds very free to me
As a tourist:
Vietnam > Malaysia > Singapore > Thailand > Indonesia > Cambodia > Laos
Haven't been to Burma or the Philippines. Where do they fit?
Depends what you're into.
For local girls:
Philippines > Indonesia > Thailand > Vietnam > Malaysia > Singapore > Cambodia > Laos > Burma
For hookers:
Thailand > Philippines > Indonesia > Cambodia > Malaysia > Vietnam > Burma > Laos
For backpacker meme stuff:
Thailand > Vietnam > Laos > Burma > Cambodia > Indonesia > Philippines > Malaysia > Singapore
>>1268438
Depends what you want to do.
Myanmar is my favourite but it's very different to the rest of SEA. Much of it feels more Indian than anything.
>>1268472
why do you rate Burma so low? I've been itching to go there for a while now
can a foreign tourist legally smoke weed in the U.S?
what states are legal, and how do you get it?
>>1268196
go to a black person and ask them then smoke it your room
>>1268204
cant i just buy it in a store in california, colorado, oregon, etc?
>>1268205
Yes. In a state that has legalized recreational use, you can buy it at a weed store if yiu can show ID that you are 21. It doesn't have to be a US ID, the point is your age. It's like buying a case of beer.
>new trip
>check into hostel
>nice day out exploring
>come back
>take a shower
>lie down on bed
>think about going downstairs in the common room
>remember that it will be the exact same types of backpackers you have already seen in thousands of other places with the exact same conversations and opinions you have perfectly memorized
>sigh and spend the evening on 4chan
you do it too anon, r-right?
>>1267666
Nope, generally still hang out with a beer or two and relax. Don't really go to the same hostel all the time so never use to the same story over and over. Worst is I just have some local beers and chill on the sofa.
Do it anyways, OP
I feel the same when I go at parties, the idea of meeting people that are always the same, wear the same clothes, with the same haircut, talking always about the same things really bores me (inb4 i'm an edgy prick). But if I spend the night at home watching netflix and smoking weed, the day after I feel like I've wasted my time and that maybe, going out the night after would have been super fun.
By experience, I can tell you that a couple of beers makes every conversation funnier and more interesting
Why not bring up novel topics yourself if others aren't doing it?
Going to Poland for a short while soon lads and lasses, Krakow to be exact (Although I may travel to Warsaw if I feel like it) anyone have any ideas for where to go and what to do? I've been before but that was with the lads and all we managed to do was get smashed and fight with skinheads. Much appreciated.
>fight with skinheads
Elaborate please lad, I didn't see any skins when I went there last month.
Also, I only went to drunkenly bond with locals and eat zurek desu, so I can't help much
>>1267595
Some skinhead said he hated Anglo's, then he butted me hahah so we all had a jolly old tussal.
What's Zurek?

What are the pros and cons of visiting Jerusalem and surrounding areas?
I'm an chrisitan orthodox and I want to visit the holy places.
Pros: supet beautiful, amazing atmosphere and the birthplace of jesus
Cons: the whole city and region is under the strict ontrol of the israeli army, and it is very hot during the day
>funding the extermination of the palestinians
>>1267371
And what about the cons?
Anyone here managed to get on Trustroots?
Pretty good site, aye?
Little hack to get an invite:
>Register with email
>Copy paste invitation code
>Use invitation code and send it to 5 throwaway emails using any old shit Google turns up with
>Wait a 3/4 days
>....
>WELCOME TO TRUSTROOTS
noice, thanks OP
but is it worth it? How is the website, does it have a decent amount of users or it's a desert?
>>1267091
As you can see in pic related, there's quite a lot of activity in central Europe. The trend stretches up until the middle east. There's tons of people active in Turkey which is surprising.
Asia and Australia are a bit lonely with 6 blobs of about 10-15 people here and there. Same with South America and parts of the US.
I'd say if you're traveling EU, East Coast US and North Africa to definitely sign up and participate.
It's a nice little site tbqh and simple to navigate and find who ever it is you're looking for. Lots of hosts too
>>1267082
OP what do you mean send the link to 5 throwaway emails? like do i have to own these emails and use them to register with the link another 5 accounts?
Is it possible to just fly to europe and wander around like a bum? The countries would be england, netherlands, germany, denmark, sweden, and norway
>>1266446
yeah, sure.
regular law still applies, but your apperance isn't enough to trigger it anyhow. Sleeping on the streets may be a different thing, but they'll just shoo you away, like they always do
also, hitchhiking is well developed
>>1266446
Idk about the other countries but hitchhiking in Germany is illegal and I hardly see hitchhikers here, that being said it is not impossible and I remember my brother and me once giving a hitchhiker a ride. But it isn´t exactly common
>>1266569
>hitchhiking in Germany is illegal
absolute bullshit, unless something changed during the last year

*Info on prostitution*
Please try to refrain from asking questions about prostitution.
Japan's sex industry is almost completely inaccessible to foreigners who do not speak Japanese.
What is available can generally be found in the following links

*Note about the JR Pass*
Many people ask about whether or not the JR Rail Pass is worth it. It depends on your itinerary.
Plug your itinerary into Hyperdia to determine ticket costs, then compare to the below JR Pass options:
>7 day Pass: 29,110¥
>14 day Pass: 46,390¥
>21 day Pass: 59,350¥
Please check the /trv/ sticky before asking questions. It's filled with links to great resources, many of them specific to Japan travel.
Please refer to the old thread while it's still up: >>1262029
Thoughts on Nikko in mid November? Kinda want to go to a proper onsen but I'm restricted by price and distance from Tokyo. I am only in Japan for a week but was thinking of doing an overnight trip. Any other places spring to mind brehs?
is $4,000 enough for two weeks there?
I want to haul back a bunch of weeb shit and see tourist destinations, and have no problem staying in hostels.
>>1266151
Yes, you could stay quite comfortably for that amount of money.
As for the weeb shit, that is subjective. You could spend 100k on weeb shit.
what happens here?
>>1266049
Dunno, but it stay there.
>>1266049
Borat xd
This happens
