I'll be staying in Nice next week - anything I should check out? Cannes/St Tropez overrated? Also looking to fug some frog girls if anyone knows of Tinder situation / good nightlife
>>1269063
Bump, same question, going there tomorrow. I'm gonna check out tinder, not sure how many froggies i'll get I think getting some tourists is more likely.
>>1269063
Not sure about Tinder I've never used it.
Cannes is boring tbqh. You can visit the Lerins islands there though. Many things to do depending on what you like. I like the mountains most, so I tend to go hiking, plus there are less tourists there.
For the beaches, the one in Nice isn't great. The best ones in the area are la Mala in Cap d'Ail or Villefranche-sur-mer which is way closer.
Go check out the Vieux Nice for the night life, lots of small pubs. Many of them are around the Cours Saleya, near the beach. Everything is quite expensive though. That's where you'll get to dance and meet grills easily, lots of them have live bands playing.
The old town is also a good visit during the day, lots of small shops selling food and artists displaying their work.
Italy is nearby, you can try going to Ventimiglia for a cheap gelato.
t. lived in Nice for 25 years.
>>1269393
Also if you're getting tired of beaches being packed like crazy, try going there early in the morning, that's the only time they're a bit quiet, and the water is still warm usually.
And there are quite some nice villages in the "arrière-pays" right above Nice which are worth visiting if you like old villages - Peille, Ste Agnès... A place I like a lot is Saint Jeannet, there's a Baou (mountain) right above it which you can climb (pic related is from the top). Avoid the hot hours, but don't go there at night like the retard I am, it's moderately dangerous.
What are the best countries, places, events etc to go on a solo trip to see/do? I don't have a gf or family or friends so I would be traveling completely alone, id perfer not to be camping alone or hiking solo but other than that id love some suggestions
Probably not the news you want to hear but if you cant easily make news friends where you live, it wont be any easier abroad, but it's not impossible, just go to a pub and start talking to people
Japan, Hong Kong, and Bhutan.
Many Japanese amenities are designed for singles, so you're basically pandered to.
Hong Kong is also pretty easy to get around solo. Dining can be a slight hurdle, depending on your tastes. If you're going to a big/fancy restaurant, you might find it harder to dine solo (but not totally impossible). If it's a smaller restaurant, you'll be fine. Hong Kong also has a ton of street food options, and that's definitely solo-friendly.
Bhutan is a no-brainer simply because it's mandatory to have a tourism package. You won't be alone because you'll have a guide or two.

Nah, it's shit. The views are decent, but the eastern europe-like mentality ruins this country. Everyone's trying to scum you, russians everywhere, dirty, stinky, totally not worth it. I'd rather pay twice as much and visit Croatia, where they don't try to rip you off on every corner.
>>1268749
I'm thinking of going to Split. Where in Croatia have you been and what do you think?
What European city would I go to if I wanted to fuck and live cheaply? Also, do people really fuck in hostels?
Also where I can speak English!

Eww, that arm is not even muscular.
Somewhere in eastern Europe. Belgrade, Tirana, Sarajevo.
I have the chance to travel anywhere in the world, on a total budget of $5,500, between July and August 2018.
Male, late twenties, from NYC, solo traveler.
Any recommendations?
Literally anywhere?
Even if you pay $1,000 for airfare and have the whole two months, $70 per day is fine for almost anywhere in the world, provided you're somewhat frugal.
If you're not, it's enough to live well in SEA or India or Latin America or basically anywhere that isn't Northern Europe or Chinkistan.
Yes, I can go anywhere. There aren't any restrictions on the length of the trip, so long as It is anytime between July and August, 2018.
The $5,500 should include airfare + hotels.

Then you have to be a bit more specific regarding your interests.

/trv/ I found an opportunity in Beijing and I think I'll leave my current shitty job and life and move there even tho I've never been there and have no idea about the place.. What do you think ? is it worth it ?
>>1267454
it's a cool city with nice people, but the air is shit.

I can get a teaching position in China. Apparently I can wish between lots of cities.
Where would you recommend that I wish to go? Good air would be nice, but I don't want to end up in some boring as fuck city just because I wanted clean air.
How's Chengdu? I've heard that Chongqing and Xi'an have really bad air
How's your trip going so far? where are you and where are you going?
Going to start a six-month sort-of-solo trip in a week.
Honestly not that excited, but I'm sure I'll be having fun once I'm gone.
Just finished 2 weeks in Senegal; now in Morocco staying in a comfy little city until I think of something better to do with myself.

>>1270317
Swiss here. Depends. Do you want landscape/nature? Or cities and towns?
Nature:
- Matterhorn / Zermatt
- Pilatus
- Rheinfall (Europes biggest waterfall)
- Vierwaldstättersee (Lake Lucerne)
- Lac Leman (Lake Geneva)
- Klöntalersee
Towns:
- Bern (especially old town)
- Lugano & Locarno (mediterranean style cities in the fucking alps, very special feeling)
- Zurich (lake side, rich, luxurious, clean, urban)
- Lucerne (very well known old bridge, beautfiul sight on the lake)
- Interlaken (as the name says, between two lakes)
- Geneva (very international, UN headquarters etc.)
Others:
- Bernina Express (train tour through the alps, on high altitude)
- Bellinzona Castles
- Castle Chillon
- Aescher Hotel (pic related)

thanks alot :) i like both

Some general tips. Maybe you have heard. Switzerland is very expensive if you don't have a salary on a Swiss level.
Avoid taxis, they are way to expensive.
Public transport here is by far the best in the world, it will take you anywhere. Larger cities like Zurich and Geneva have Uber.
Tipping is not really obligated in Switzerland, but if you feel that the service was good, 3 % tip is ok.
Download the "SBB" app in the app store to display public transport connections.
When you're at one of the numerous lakes, take a boat tour. They are not too expensive and you see a lot of nice things. Boat tours are offered regularly (every hour or so) on every lake, big or small.
Currently on a plane heading to Japan for 14 days, however I have 2 days in Korea (flying into Seoul was like $500 cheaper for some reason). I have not had time to do much planning on what to do in Korea as I had a very close family member pass away a week before leaving.
What would /trv/ do with 2 full days in Seoul? I am mostly into food, as well as just experiencing local culture.
>just took this pic on the 787 a few minutes ago.
Great plane so far btw.
>>1270176
If you're going to Japan right after, you should focus on experiencing things that are better in Korea. This list would include:
>>1270176
You should visit Seoul only for the fact it's a worse version of Tokyo (like Korea is a worse version of Japan) and when you actually get to Japan your mind will be blown by how much better it is.
Just take the train into the city and eat whatever. Don't bother paying any more than 20000 won. Once you've had one Korean meal, you've pretty much had them all. It's all very monotonous and of dubious quality.
Skip the "cultural attractions" unless you want a point of contrast that helps you see just how much more interesting The history and culture in Japan is.

They have Bakken and Tivoli Gardens (some of the oldest amusement parks on Earth), and the original Legoland. No wonder Danes are so happy.
