Hello /trv/!
I'm going to Peru on the 17th of this month
I'll be going to Ica close to where the Nazca lines are. And I will also be going to Lima. Anything that is worth knowing about these places mostly Ica as I've never been to there I have been to Lima.
Thanks for the info in advance!
Go to Huacachina. In Nazca do a flight, there's no reason to go there otherwise. But overall a little underwhelming regardless.
In Lima ride a bike or wander down the Malecon, and use Tinder.

Thanks
Ok, so I'm starting to look for my next winter getaway, usually Colombia is my ticket.. But Panama keeps coming up with decent flights.. Fill me in folks, what would i expect in Panama? where to go? how are the womens? tips and general comparisons to other central american countries..
panama is a little odd in that it doesn't have a central highland, panama city is the nicest capital in the area, a bit of a second class miami for the region
over half the country lives around the canal, other cities are pretty forgettable, they really promote going to some native islands
with the heavy american development and currency, it's expensive for the area and you have little foreign cache
the city and canal are worth doing, but I wouldn't spend much time there other than that, if you can handle colombia you'll find panama a bit boring

Makes alot of sense, thank you sir..
Hey trv. I'm an over the road truck driver. What's some cool places to check out along the interstate?
>>1272860
>'m an over the road truck driver
No you are not.
You are a dumb kid who has been following truckerfag threads on /o/
This job is horrible and pays poorly.
You never get a chance to stop and check out anything.
If you haul reefer then you dont even get enough sleep

This. If you were one, you'd already have the answers. If you're just starting out, you'd ask your fellow drivers.
Has anyone ever been to Disneyland Paris? I'm a big Disney fan headed to France for a couple of days later this year from the US. I'd love to see it at least once.
Any tips for going there? Do I need to stay nearby? Is it worth it if I've been to Disneyland nearly a hundred times? What's the easiest way to get there if my point of origin is going to be London? Do they serve booze?
Any tips are highly welcome.

It's pleasant , a great place to bring kids and for families to enjoy themselves. I went when I was a child and remember it fondly. You can leave the resort if you like and explore Paris too.
I'd recommend staying in the resort itself and venturing out when you feel like it.
> Is it worth it if I've been to Disneyland nearly a hundred times?
I'm not sure what Disney World is like but the European park is like I said above, it's really nice. Although, I'm not sure what different rides etc are there currently.
>What's the easiest way to get there if my point of origin is going to be London?
Fly to Paris, why would you be in London? You want to see The Dungeons ?
>Do they serve booze?
Yes.
A lot of what I've said is readily searchable on the internet, do some research and find out for yourself if it's right for you going there.
>>1272859
I was there once but it was like 12 years ago. I remember the one really big piece of advice that paid off was to stay in a nearby hotel that you can get a bus from, but NOT the hotels on the actual Disneyland site (AKA the Disney castle hotel). They are horribly crowded and are only nice from the outside.
I've never been to Disneyland Florida, but honestly from what little I know the Paris one is pretty much Disneyland Lite, so I'd temper your expectations. The rides weren't all that memorable, but the main street was absolutely amazing. I spent more time just gawking at the scenery there than I did enjoying the actual park. And I was 10 years old.
Who knows what it's like today though, a lot can change in over a decade

>What's the easiest way to get there if my point of origin is going to be London?
Take the Eurostar from London St. Pancras to Disneyland Paris directly, it's about 3 hours by train.
>Do I need to stay nearby?
There's a whole bunch of cheaper non-Disney hotels in Val d'Europe, which is 1 metro station away from Disneyland Paris itself.
The Disney hotels are pricey, but Santa Fé and Cheyenne are the cheapest options if you want to stay on property.
>Is it worth it if I've been to Disneyland nearly a hundred times?
Yes, while there are superficial similarities, it's definitely a park with a different atmosphere than the US parks.
It also has a much more spacious layout than Disneyland in Anaheim does.
>Do they serve booze?
They do indeed, have you tried telling a frenchy he can't have wine with his food? They'd riot.
Planning to potentially go to Cologne I'm august this year with two mates I've known for years. It's gonna be sort of for Gamescom but we can only get tickets for two days and we're staying 7 days, as such we need something to do with that time. What are some good places to visit and see, potentially photograph. Also what's the night life like there?
Anyone been to Gothenburg, Sweden? Is it worth it?

IN 2002 it was fucking nice.
Too bad I was 11 that time.
australian here, i want to take a west coast U.S driving holiday for 3 - 4 weeks.
was thinking of flying to seattle, staying in the city for a few nights then renting a car and slowly making my way down to los angeles and then to vegas, and then maybe colorado for the last week or so with a detour through the grand canyon.. is this a good plan?
i will be staying at motels on the road and probably a nice hotel for a few nights each in seattle, vegas and denver or something,.
is the weather okay during the next month or so?
i have visited american cities before, but this time i want to drive in rural areas and visit small towns, etc.
what is the best way to book flights, hotel, car hire, etc? is flight center ok?
Having moved from Seattle for grad school to Utah, all I have to say is that the Southwest is going to be hotter than hell. I'd easily expect 40° weather. Be prepared to drive as well! It's a barren wasteland in these parts
What's the cheapest airport to fly into Central or Eastern Africa? To me, it's seeming like somewhere in Italy
>>1272737
Paris is way too expensive indeed
What's the most fun I can have in the NYC/New Jersey area as a young adult? I have a thousand dollars to work with, and my living quarters is already paid for.
How easy are parties to find? And where do I go to find them?
>And where do I go to find them?
How about you start by finding the NYC thread in the catalog?

Hey guys, I'm mostly ready for my first big solo travelling adventure in august. I'll be going to thailand, malaysia and indonesia.
I'm planning on staying near the coast in thailand for a week, then flying to tawau in sabah province of malaysia for some scuba, to balikpapan for some jungle exploring with a guide, and finally off to bali to recover from my jungle fever and STIs I've picked up along the way.
The trip advisories seem to suggest that sabah is super dangerous right now because of the philippines; is there any merit to that?
Also any tips on travelling solo in any of those areas would be great too, I'm a big muscular guy who looks kind of intimidating so I'm not expecting too much trouble but I'm not sure what to expect.
recovering from jungle fever in bali*. probably the safest place I'll be at during the whole trip I think right?
On a trip to the Indian capital city in August. Anyone with any advice is welcome
Hey Team.
I'm from a pretty white/western country, and I've always wanted to go to place that would give me a real culture shock and get me out of my comfort zone. I'm thinking India.
I'd love to hear some of your experiences + any 'must see's'
Yeah, Varanasi in your pic will do that.
Had a "coming of age" experience there, way back many years ago (oldfag).
Just get a guesthouse somewhere along the river. Try to find one that is without backpackers, and opt for one full of pilgrims and old India-hounds. Stay for a couple of months. You will be changed.

im heading off there next month doing the golden triangle then wandering for the rest of the trip (2 months) before i head off to sri lanka. Exact same position as you, got a bit too comfortable in the wash cycle so im going to shake things up
I'll be travelling to iceland from western canada at the end of the month for 8 days and i was looking for some advice on the spots to avoid and the things that are a must see while driving around the entire island. I'm considering renting a car and sleeping in it along with camping in various spots. Is there designated campsites? Can i camp anywhere that isn't private property or a park? Is there some kind of rideshare meetup type thing so I can get someone to chip in for the rental and join me for this excursion?
Some rough ideas of things i'd like to get to while touring around the area. I'm down for anything involving the nature of this amazing country, hiking, kayaking, climbing, hot springs and checking out some geological oddities.
DettiFoss
Jokulsarlon lagoon
Westman Island
The golden circle
thingvellir National park
Hverir mud pools
snaefellsnes peninsula
Would greatly appreciate some advice as this will be my first overseas trip and it's incredibly short notice. Was originally going to drive up to alaska but a friend bailed and my car isn't in good enough shape for that type of trip.
In October I'm heading to Europe for a week (from the US). Specifically, I'm flying into London for a football game, then meeting my two friends who live over there. Looking for reasonably economical ways to get to other countries.
I'd love to go to Paris for two days maybe, and stop over in Germany, Sweden, or Switzerland. Is this feasible? My friends live in Milton Keynes, and would let me crash in their spare room like they always do, but I'd hate to go back to Europe and just repeat that.
Am I stupid for just trying to spend a day or two in Paris & otherwise? Is it majorly expensive?
>>1272527
No spend your week in MK, and the surrounding area.
Visit Oxford and the Cotswalds and Stratford Upon Avon. Birmingham and Coventry have beautiful architecture too!
>>1272575
I agree with this guy, or you could do one three/four day trip to some city.
For cheap ways of getting around check blablacar, flixbus, and of course, Google flights+Momondo. (Ryanair sometimes flies between London and Stockholm for below £20, for example).
>>1272607
That's perfect (Ryanair), and I'll look into the others. I'm not concerned about finances at the end of the day, but my friends might be.
