So I'm heading to Indonesia on Tuesday for a week, Anything I should know about? I'll only be in Jakarta the whole time since I have a girl there i'm planning on doing things with. She's a native, but is there any suggestions on where to take her or things to do? I'm a burger and though it's my first trip to Indonesia, I've traveled other places before.

I heard Jakarta is a congestion ridden, polluted shithole of 25 million people.

I figure she as a native knows the fun things to do.

>going to a literal shit hole that is Indonesia
For what purpose?

To fuck the native girl that will guide him?

So I never got to travel as a kid,mi'm 25 now and I want to go on a solo trip and finally see somewhere outside of my country. I'm looking at Thailand since my money would go far there and there are cheap hookers (lol just being honest). I'm still open to recommendations for destinations. Is groupon the best place to find a deal for a trip? Any other places similar to Thailand that possibly have lax drug laws as well?

Latin America

Cambodia is what you are looking for. It's like Thailand but less developed, and the bribes are 7-8x cheaper than in Thailand for being caught with the same drogas
>>
>>1215273
Are the hookers this pretty there?
I should make a trip plan of my own if it's so.

Is there a reason that anyone would go to NYC other than for the progressive climate?

That's a reason NOT to go.

That is why I am asking if there is anything else to go for. I assume Staten Island is not big on progressive politics

There's so much going on and so much money floating around that it's possible to make a living doing pretty much whatever the fuck you want if you're clever. You can pretty much make up your own job as long as you can find someone willing to pay you to do it. You can reinvent yourself as often as you need to. If you don't manage to get rich you'll have to be clever about about your living situation, because real estate costs a lot here. Like wine? You can make a living as a sommelier, salesman or even importer. Like food? You can be a restaurateur, a cook aspiring to be a chef or even a fucking food writer. Want to see the world? Join a company that provides crew for setting up live performances and off you go, but you're based in NYC because that's where the company is. Have some sense of do-goodery? People actually make a living here working for non-profits. Don't care? Go make a bundle working on Wall St. The opportunities are endless. The same goes for things to do for fun, things to eat and people to meet. If you don't have the money to travel you can just walk around outer borough immigrant neighborhoods and get a taste of cultures from around the world. Also NYC is remarkably safe right now for a large American city.

>UK Citizen

>Want NO/Little Crime
>Want Wildlife
>Want No Cultural Problems (I'm not white)
>Want Simple Living (Fishing, Hunting, Foraging etc)
>Want Christian Environment
>Want somewhere that isn't completely Cold (Don't mind some cold)
>Want Freedom in Law (Free Speech, Free to Protect Myself in My Home etc)
>Want No Huge Taxes

Any suggestions? Apologies, if this thread isn't right for this board.

I have two days in London.
What do?

This is my second time there so I've done some major things like the parliament, the Buckingham palace.
(although if you know a major thing which is pretty legit go on and suggest)

I know the Natural History Museum is pretty dope, so yeah, gonna visit 2nd time.

Also any good places to try authentic british "cuisine"?

Hi /trv/, can anyone share some of his knowledge and experience about car rental while on vacation? Like tips and tricks to pay less, what to avoid, what to pay attention to, etc...
I'm probably going to california with a friend and we'd like to rent a car but i've never done it before, so i'd really appreciate some pointers

How old are you? If under 21, check with the company that they will rent to you, otherwise you could get an unpleasant shock.

They will try and sell you "the insurance." If you have auto insurance in the US, it will normally take care of you -- check with your company to be sure, or read what it says in your policy if you can lay hands on it. No need paying for their insurance if yours is already good to go. They also will offer you the "convenience" of just bringing the car back as-is in regards to fuel. Your other option is to make sure you top it off to where it was when you picked it up right before dropping it off -- it is usually cheaper to top it off yourself, but if you may be really rushed as you drop it off it might be worth it to save a stop. Make sure you are both on the contract as allowed to drive the car. If you encounter lions, get in the car.
>>
>>1216165
Also, if you are from some furin land, make sure your license is accepted here (google that thing), and have it with you as your passport is a valid ID but not a valid license to drive.
>>
>>1216165
>>1216166

Italian, 29 yo, my license is ok. I'm not too worried about insurances, i just don't want to get overcharged for a car if i could get it for cheaper at some other car rental franchise. I heard that Sixt is pretty good.

I've been offered the oppurtunity to study abroad in Germany with the choice of four cities; Hamburg, Berlin, Stuttgart, and Munich. Money isn't an issue when it comes to deciding between them, and though I originally planned on Berlin to experience the country at its heart, what would /trv/ pick out of the four to stay in for a month?
16 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
Whichever one has the least muslims and highest chance of survival for the month stay.
>>
I like Hamburg most. Friendly people, good fish, huge port and lots of hookers.
>>
>>1215975
I would take Hamburg or Munich.

Munich for when you want the more stereotypical german more traditional bavarian feel.

Hamburg for when you want to have more of a worldly City with great parties and less judgemental People that is culturally more close to Denmark or the Netherlands.

You could also take Berlin if you want to be looked down upon by an assortment international Hipsters in Kreuzberg or Gangraped by a Group of Bulgarian Heroin Addicts at Kottbusser Tor.

I don't know much about Stuttgart but it seems boring

What do you think would realistically happen if I simply got a plane ticket to let's say, Italy, (Calabria) and just threw away any forms of I.D. and just stayed there, offering to work on various farms or cheese making operations or something like that?

If police were to say "catch" me and find out I'm not an Italian citizen, what would they do with me? (I am an american citizen, Hungarian ethnically so I'm somewhat brown and might even blend in)

If I admitted I was America, would they simply send me back on a plane? Or would they keep me in jail indefinitely? Let's say I have conversational ability in Italian.

Let's say I did the same in Tunisia, or Morocco, planning to offer my labors in exchange for housing and food.

tl;dr would authorities really care about a young man without an identity wandering the countryside? would I get thrown in jail for overstaying a visa?

I don't have a criminal background, I just want to wander the world on foot.

I also want to add that I have years of line cook experience so as a trade, I would offer my services in kitchens as well, even simply washing dishes for food. I do not mind sleeping outside if I am in a climate close to the equator.
>>
They will try to find out who you are. If they can't, they will certainly not give you a job as a pizza thrower. They will just deport you to whatever country they think you are from.
>>
>>1215899
well, customs would want some id, when you dont have any, they detain you then send you back to wherever you came from.

on top of that, if you said you intended to work without a work visa, they would detain you and send you home.

if you somehow got past them and got caught by police. they would detain you and send you home.

every country is like this.

Yes. Donald Duck is a symbol of hate and racism in NY. If you plan to stick with Trump-supporters only, you will be fine. Otherwise, use Mickey Mouse phone case and key holder.

Actually Donald duck isn't directly a support mascot of Trump but you definitely don't want to wear around black or Spanish people or liberals. with all that gear they will likely believe you are a member of duckfront (not well known outside nyc) but believe me just save yourself the hassle and go with goofy.

Things to do in Connecticut? I've lived here for a while but have never really had an opportunity to explore it or "live" some experiences of it besides hiking my backyard trails.
10 posts and 4 images submitted.

Lived here all my life. Appalachian Trail is ok, Holiday Hill if you have kids, New Haven is decent if you stick to yale, and Casinos are alright if you're into that. But besides that we live in the most boring state in all of America. I live in West Haven right now near the beach and used to live in Bridgeport in case you were wondering
>>
Grew up in CT as well. There's a thriving punk scene in New London (check the bar named "33") if you're into that sort of thing, some artists spaces, and Sailfest in July.
Middletown has myriad novelty bars (places like Eli Cannon's), and the rich-kid art school (Wesleyan) ensures that there's always a large number of college-age kids out being assholes. More artspaces.
Hartford has bars (a whole block filled with bars for 20 somethings in downtown), it has some theaters (for plays) and The Hartford Forum where they host speakers and debates. If you're looking for a better nightlife in the Hartford area check Adrian's Landing (a smaller section in downtown), the West End of Hartford, and West Hartford, including West Hartford Center and Blueback Square. Best bars for dates are Bin 221, which is a small wine bar downtown, and The Shish Kebab House of Afghanistan which is restaurant/bar/hookah lounge in West Hartford Center. if you like to kayak, there are a lot of races in the warmer months around the state, and Hartford is built upon a series of underground rivers that can be accessed through the CT river. It's called the "Hog River" and it's an unmapped series of tunnels that run beneath the city, so you can go exploring if you want.
UCONN in Storrs has an "adventure park" which includes a bunch of ziplines and climbing between trees on rope ladders and shit.
There's a small portion of the Appalachian Trail like the other anon said on Bear Mountain. It's a good hike, and there are group camping spots south of the trail-head that are rarely used and further removed from the trail, so you can have fires even though it's against the rules.
You gotta be more specific with what you want to do, though.

Hey guys. I'm in a position at the moment where I have money but no obligations. I've been studying programming and realised recently that since the only thing I really need is my laptop, I could live in another country while doing it.

I've got around $5000, and only plan on spending a few months somewhere. I've looked at a couple of cheap living articles which all list the usual countries. Thailand, Taiwan, vietnam, China etc. Are these good options or are there better alternatives? I guess my only requirement would be decent WiFi.

>capital city is fairly modern with everything you need

This country may not be cheap as Vietnam or some other places, but with 5000$ I think you'll manage for several months.

If you were given a visa to visit the DPRK, would you use it?

Thinks to consider:
>You will be with a guide the entirety of your time outside of your hotel
>Your hotel room will be bugged
>Speaking bad about the glorious leader can earn you a deportation and travel ban and give your guide up to 20 years forced labor
>What you take pictures of will be regulated
>You will have to make a trip to Mansudae and leave flowers

Also, some of your greentexts were false. If you're going to do a DPRK thread at least do it right.

Travel fuck ups thread.

I just booked a flight for me and my mate to Portugal and then we both realised neither of us can do the dates we agreed on for various reasons. Can't get a refund with the airline,

During my trip to Istanbul last year I got lost, could not find my hotel, spent four hours frantically calling random people trying to get them to help me out through google maps in vain. I wasted so much fucking money on that alone, about 200 euros as I do not have a foreign plan as I normally only communicate through wifi when I am abroad. Then I wasted about 40 bucks on a sketchy taxidriver trying to swindle me with succes. (The hotel was literally right next to the spot I hailed him I later found out. He just took a massive detour). Two days later I lost my bankpass and was completely broke. I had to live off like 5 bucks for an entire day. (Actually a really sobering experience).
Eventually my mom transferred some money through Western Global so I could actually do shit. Then I nearly got killed in a terror boming the next day. To top it all off I missed my flight back home because I am a dumbass, also not refundable, and had to buy a new ticket which cost me another additional 200 bucks and I had to spend nearly 10 hours in some shitty, overcrowded airport. What an absolute clusterfuck. The city itself was pretty cool though. Shit happens. Cheer up, OP.

If you like hiking, ferry to lantau, get on a bus, get off when to see the head to a hiking trail, 10/10 views pretty much every trail. also comes with golden orbs and snakes.

or keep bussing it to Wan Chai for a glorious mall crowded with computer parts. One of my favourite ways to spend a day.
