I'm thinking about spending a week and a half or two weeks in Europe around March
The places I'd like to visit are Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam and maybe Switzerland if my friend who lives there will be free during that time
Now, I've been to Prague last year so I'm thinking spend just a day or two there since I've seen all the stuff I wanted to see last time
From there to Berlin for a few days (I don't know still how many, I'm pretty clueless about that place) and then Amsterdam (depends on how many days I've spend in Berlin and Prague)
So a few questions
Should I travel by bus or by rail? I'd like to catch some sleep if it's all possible durning that time
Is there any other place I should see? If there's a city around these cities that is intersting enough which I could do for a day that'd be nice
Any tips on Berlin in general?
Rail is good
Depending on the time the ticket can be cheap or fucking expensive tho
But it's fast and you can sleep a little comfortably since you aren't usually cramped
Bus is ok but uncomfortable noisy and slower
Take a walking tour in Berlin. The tour guides are knowledgeable and you will do a lot of sightseeing for one day and learn a lot of history. I'm not much of a museum guy. Food in Berlin is cheaper than other EU countries I visited (also more basic). Enjoy yourself. I did. ;)

Is there a recomended walking tour?
And any hidden gems of food places?
>"It'll be easy anon, with your british accent just find any american woman and marry her for a visa!"
Do people actually do this? How do I even go about this?
Probably not.
Men in almost country have similar variations.
>Oh, man, I'm from Country X. X girls are wild for Ethnic Group Y men! Getting laid there will be so easy for you!
Being British and having an accent will give you an advantage with American women, since you'll be perceived as exotic. There's also a stereotype that Brits in general are more cultured, polite, and sophisticated than their counterparts across the pond.
You'd likely have an easier time getting laid, provided you're somewhat attractive, but I doubt girls would be jumping to marry you if you're not appealing otherwise.
For instance, it'd be easy for a marginally well-off white guy to find an impoverished bride in sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, Latin America, whatever. But you'd be marrying as a transaction - pussy in exchange for the girl getting a better lifestyle.
I doubt that'd work in the States, unless you're really, really rich, or find some idiot hag desperate for a husband.

Damn that's fucking annoying. I'll keep trying on my visits I guess. My life pretty much looks like
>work ass off for 3 months eating nothing but cheap pasta and spending nothing
>live for 3 months in USA on visa waiver
>repeat
I'm always grateful for those months I'm work-free and enjoying life over there but it feels a bit back-and-forth and dumb to have to do this shit constantly. I'm also paranoid they are gonna look at my passport one day and ban me for visiting too much or someshit.

Well did you actually try talking to people?
Girls can't hear your inability to pronounce the letter r if you don't talk to them.
Anyone here spent much time in Nepal?
It's pretty much been a dream of mine for a while to get into mountaineering and at the end of this year I'll finally have some time. Heading up one of the trekking peaks in Nepal looks like the perfect intro.
Anyone got any advice on which peak to choose? Looking for the 'coolest', most technical peak that a fit 22 year old with some rockclimbing experience could attempt.
Or general advice on climbing mountains and visiting Nepal
>>1289757
No one?
For either mountaineering or general Nepali advice? I'm surprised, thought both topics would be pretty popular.
>>1290132
I'm one of the very few people on /trv/ that does some mountaineering. Wouldn't know about Nepal, but don't aim too high if you've never done this before and have no experience with high altitude.
What I do know is that Nepal is quite expensive for climbing. Almost joined an Ama Dablam expedition last year (was stuck in Africa so nothing came of it) but it would've cost me 5-6k for a month.
Also this is a slow board, give it some time, Nepal will get some answers.

Also, for mountaineering, >>>/out/ is a better place. There's a mountain thread right now: >>>/out/1080948

I'm going to study of Erasmus next september.
Is easy to get laid?
Is dangerous go to a prostitute club or get one from the street?
Some tip or place to visit?
Not, it's not that easy to get laid with locals. You should probably stick with other Erasmus students. But I'm a virgin, so take it with a grain of salt.
Don't go to street prostitutes, they're nasty.
The city is not that big, you can walk almost everywhere. Jardim das Virtudes is a nice place to watch the sunset, great view, and it's always full of young people drinking/listening to music/smoking/chilling. Other than that I'm guessing ESN will give you the tour, so you should be fine. If you get a chance visit GerĂªs.
Out of curiosity, where will you study?
Thanks for the info, mate. I'm spanish 21 yo virgin too xd. I'm going to study in Facultade de Direito, Criminologia.

The laws are the same in Spain, I think.
Has anyone travelled on the transiberian railway from moscow to beijing?
Any advice on where to buy tickets if you want to stop often?
>>1289605
I've often dreamed about doing this when I was a miserable mess in high school
Vice founder filmed himself doing it
You basically drink and smoke for 24 hours in a hot train with angry drunk russians and no aircon
I currently live in Russia and eventually plan to do it.
You can use Yandex (unfortunately in russian only) to see various prices https://rasp.yandex.ru/
Usually the easiest thing to do is to buy the tickets by destinations through russian railways, prices should be among the lowest you can find.
http://pass.rzd.ru/main-pass/public/en
Then when you reach Chita and have to cross to China seems you have to buy the ticket personally at the station because they don't sell international tickets through the internet.
Dunno how to proceed once you get to China tho
Planning to backpack from Uruguay to Argentina and Chile. Doing it Hostel by hostel. Any tips and suggestion for a pasta gringo? I have a c1 level of Spanish.

How much are you willing to spend?
bumping this, I'm going to Chile solo in a few months and I'm trying to figure out if I want to be social or not
Need some visa advice.
So I'll be studying Russian in Russia for almost 3 months from December to mid February. I have the option of studying in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, or over in Estonia in Tallinn. The question lies in how I could leave and re enter Russia during my time there. My girlfriend lives in Finland so I would probably visit a few times and vice versa. Is it possible to get a multiple re-entry visa for such a short amount of time? I can't really find an answer somewhere else. I could always just go to Estonia but I feel like I would learn more actually in Russia.
Pls help me
Sorry guy I dunno. But what's the deal with transit visas anyway? Do Russian citizens need them?
>>1289508
Not sure I just know that for foreigners (American in my case) I would need a multiple entry visa but that is usually a 3 year visa
Anyone been to the Isle of Skye? What's it like? When is the best time to go?
September - October is prettiest in the classical Scottish way. Foggy and Rainy.
The air is crisp and fresh and everything is turning colour.
>>1289457
the 'isle' of skye has a bridge and should be stripped of its island status
no locals left, overrun by rich english retired people and absolutely mobbed with tourists, it's a theme park and the rest of the highlands is following, fuck the NC500
What exactly do I need in order to leave the US? Obviously a passport, do I need to get shots too for medical reasons? How many sets of clothes do I take with me in the backpack, if I am staying outside for about 1 month? Will my cellphone work outside of the US? Will my debit card work at the banks?
>>1289411
>do I need to get shots too for medical reasons?
Depends where you're traveling to.
>How many sets of clothes do I take with me in the backpack, if I am staying outside for about 1 month?
Dude, really? If you're staying 1 month you'll need to wash your clothes, so it depends on how often you're expecting to wash them.
>Will my cellphone work outside of the US?
Most carriers will, but you'll have to pay roaming charges. Look it up.
>Will my debit card work at the banks?
Some ATMs might have restrictions on Visa/Electron/Mastercard, you should check what is most used in the country you're going to. Also beware you'll probably have to pay conversation fees when withdrawing money/buying stuff with your card.

How long does an airport layover need to be at minimum so that I don't miss my connecting flight? I would have a layover at Istanbul AtatĂ¼rk Airport
>>1289346
Coming from where? It might make a difference, I don't know if this is still the case, but the last time I flew through there we had to pass through a version of passport control before going to a connecting flight. That was coming from the US and en route to either Qatar or Dubai.
When in doubt, ask the airline.
I think search engines go with 45 or 50 mins minimum?
I did much less in some airports, and failed transferring during much longer time in others...
Best to follow Turkish Airlines' advice.
AtatĂ¼rk is about average when it comes to transfers, so 1 hr might be okayish. I would personally go with 2-3 hrs, just cause I'm weird and I actually enjoy the airport food there....
>>1289371
Airline fag here.
Minimum connection times are just that. Minimum. Leave yourself at least 2 hours. Id even advocate up to 5 depending on how infrequent your connecting carriers flights are.
Better to chill at the gate for your connecting flight then have your entire trip fucked up.
Have a beer, read a magazine, take a dump, people watch, browse the terminal mall...whatever.
Long layovers are better than being stranded.
I've received an exciting opportunity and will be moving to Rome from Sydney in November for work. I'll be living in Pigneto. Can anyone school me on Rome, I've never been, things to do as someone who has the time and funds to do it properly and over a longer period of time?
>>1289165
Currently sitting at Fiumicino airport after 10 days in Rome.
I have mixed feelings about the city , waking around , the city itself is one huge museum with tons of seights to see and places to be. The people living here though , are lazy as fuck.

I hope you are prepared to be constantly harassed by niggers to buy things.
I will go to Canada for a year, starting on the first of September in Toronto.
I will do some sort of roadtrip to Vancouver where I will stay over the winter.
Any reccommendations what to do/see in Toronto?
Especially bars and places to meet locals, that are not overrun by tourists, are interesting for me.
Besides this, any tips on what general places in the country I should see on my roadtrip, are welcome too.
>>1289134
>don't forget about southwestern Ontario, we are mostly farmers but its really beautiful this time of year and the food is fucking incredible, we have some of the best crops and yield in the world. places like Stratford and area, Kitchener etc are known for their chefs and restaurants.
> most of the GTA is shit just urban sprawl and Torontonians don't think their shit stinks.
>if you're heading out to Vancouver Island check out Comox and area its fantastic I head out there once a year.
Since this is a canada thread I'm going to ask here too. As an American I'm allowed to go there for six months at a time, is that six months per year? So I have to return for six before I can go back for six?
Personally I'm in love with quebec, the french language barrier keeps out most of the idiots, and the winters kill off the rest.
there isn't much possible variation heading east-west
biggest one is edmonton-jasper or calgary-banff?

it's six months of a 12 month period
Places that, in your personal opinion, would make a horrible vacation.

I am not saying it wouldn't be neat, but definitely not in my top 100 places to visit.
Liberia is a top shithole, Belarus is a jewel of civilization if you compare the two countries. Many other African nations suck hard too.

I agree, but I have also never seen anyone /trv/ mention going to Liberia, although I have seen Belarus threads on here.
