>East Kazakhstan olbast, Atyrau oblast
>not Mangystau olblast
God why? Dude, THE ONLY regions in KZ with things have to be seen are Mangystau oblast and some places at south-east border where Tian-Shan is. The rest is truly nothing but boring steppe. Also I'm going to go to Mangyshlak from 28.04 to 9.05 and inetersting in company, one more seat in a car is vacant. If you suddenly gonna join it would be good though. Boszhira in Mangyshlak picrelated.

Why not Belarus but whole Ukraine?
Why not Mordovia lol but not whole Caucasus? What to do, what to see in fucking Mordovia? Russia has tons of worth to visit locations but regions such as Mordovia is a kind of wasted Earth surface.

Weird map, mate.

I need your help /trv/

I have six weeks in the period between August and October

Where should I travel to in Central America? I want to see one or two countries max.

I am fluent in Spanish and don't want to see many US tourists

>>
> don't want to see many US tourists
I'd avoid Panama and Costa Rica then. Belize is also safer than most so has Americans visiting. I would recommend Guate and Nicaragua or El Salvador. Find the other thread on Guatemala here.
>>
>>1228021
Screw Central America, head further south to Colombia and maybe Brazil. The tourist scene is minimal in both (outside of Cartagena and Rio) but the cultures are awesome and the women are unmatched.

Most people can't get as much out of Colombia because no one speaks english there, but if you're an obvious gringo (light hair/eyes) that speaks spanish well you'll have a great time. Get the hell out of the backpacker hostels and meet local girls to hang out with, you'll get a window into a different world.

In Brazil you can get by with Portunhol and again have a great time. Just don't spend too much time in Rio.

To get between the two, go down to Leticia, then take a cab to the Brazilian side and fly to Manaus, then on to wherever once you get tired of the jungle and obscenely easy women.
>>
>>1228089
What people would I see backpacking in Guatemala? Also how much money do you think I'd need for 40 days in the region if I keep it to Guatemala, El Salvador and no scuba diving

>>1228096

I'v already done my big South America trip desu. Actually I stayed in Rio for a month and loved it. I wouldn't mind to return to South America but what would I gain if I'd head down there again just a year later?

Headed to Charleston for a weekend. Any tips? Restaurant recommendations? Things to see? Cheers!

Local here:

http://xiaobaobiscuit.com/ is the best restaurant in CHS.

But...

Hominy Grill across the street is a bit more southern. Have to get shrimp and grits at least once.

It is imperative that you go to at least one brewery. I suggest Revelry or Holy City.

This site will let you know about stuff going on.
http://www.charlestoncitypaper.com/

Walking tours are actually fantastic. You can walk around the city and fall in love with how quaint and beautiful it is, but having a guide will give you the history. I have been on like 5 since being here.

The Tattooed Moose. Has arguably the best sandwich in America (the duck club). their duck fat fries are good, their local beer choices are stellar.

So last week I was at some strip club on the third floor of Nana Plaza in Bangkok, Thailand. Me and two of my friends were each getting a lap dances and it was pretty awesome, but at one point one girl put some weird spice thing in my mouth and then another girl put an ice cube in her mouth, made out with me, and put the ice cube into my mouth. The spice thing was small, light brown in color, and twisted around itself circularly about 3 or 4 times. Does anyone know what this spice was? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Gal pal wants to go to the Keys in Florida for our anniversary this year. Planning on spending six or so days there. We want this to happen in December so we're trying to plan it now while there's still wiggle room.
Where in the Keys would be best for us to stay that would have the most amount of stuff to do? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.
Pic related it's the Keys.

Have a look at this:
>>1226633
You can buy a ticket for the Rijksmuseum online, if you are going to go in peak tourist season it's just a case of getting there early before the mad rush. I don't think you book for specific days, but maybe you can in the summer. Check out the I am Amsterdam city tourist card that gets you free entry into most museums (not the Rijksmuseum) as well as free public transport (not the suburban trains). It's a really good deal because museums and other sights are very expensive otherwise.
>>
>>1227031
Most worthwhile places would be Schiphol Airport and Central Station, where you can get tickets out of that shithole.

Hi everyone,

my gf and me (27yo) are going to visit Mallorca for a week between march and april.

I've been told, that the island has gorgeous landsacape and is a real beauty, if you avoid the mainstream beach-tourism.

Can you recommend
>cities,
>sights,
>hiking trails for a day,
>beaches or bays, which are not crawling with >drunk rednecks
>cool spots in general worth visiting??

Our hotel is in the north of the island, but im gonna get a rental so mobility shouldnt be a prob.

Both of us enjoy Nature and culture/history and we are interested in fine dining and going out/ dancing.

Thanks in advance lads

Family friend owns a flat in Pollenca, nice town in the north. Don't know when it is, but they do a yearly reenactmaent of the kicking out of the moors which is always fun. Other than that, Formentor is a stunning beach, and the Lluc monastery is great and has a nice nature trail around it. Palma is also nice, and there's a great mountain train ride coming to/from there, but I don't remember where it starts

Definetly check out the mountains, the north of the island is stunning.

>Cities and sights
The only proper city is Palma. Valldemossa and Sóller are both worth it because of the old town but they are quite tiny, can be seen in a couple hours. I like Valldemossa especially because of the setting and the old buildings and cobbled streets, but it can get touristy in summer. You can get to Sóller with the train that >>1227745 said, which is p cool.

>hiking trails for a day
Plenty in the mountains but check out Torrent de Pareis, a path along a dried down stream that ends in one of my favourite beaches in the island (pic related).

>beaches or bays, which are not crawling with drunk rednecks
You should be fine, there's a lot of Germans living here, but the scummy tourists only appear from may onwards. Weather is a bit cold right now for the beach though (at least for me, but then again I'm used to a different weather than you guys probably). Upside is you may have the beaches for yourselves.

>going out/ dancing.
Palma is almost your only bet. Try to stay in the city with the locals, there's a sizeable student population. Santa Catalina is the district with more restaurants and locals so check that out.

I'm Russian tourist who only knows about Kansas because of Wizard of Oz. I come there on my road trip from NY to CA. What do I do there? Can spend as much time as I want, if it worth it.
>>
Kansas City is probably best known for our barbeque, and there's a wide variety of places to try out- I'm partial to Woodyard BBQ on Merriam ln. Year-round, we have a lot of car shows, though it will unfortunately be some time until the next one- if you should be coming through while one is happening, they're worth a look, as our cars are featured in magazines nationwide. The WWI museum is quite impressive as well, and it's the only one of its kind in the country. The Nelson-Atkins museum is another great one, and the area around there is known for having lots of street performers, especially after dark (and note, stick with the crowd if you do this, the surrounding area is dangerous). Besides all this, there's a myriad of music bars around the city, from punk to jazz to country. If you're wanting to stay someplace safe, try hotels around Liberty, Tiffany Springs, or Mission; Wyndotte (downtown KCK) is much cheaper, but you'd be taking a risk. I hope you enjoy it here
>>
Just to put it out there, avoid Independence Ave. and Swope pkwy if you can (Swope's main road is okay, avoid the side-streets like the plague), don't go around State Ave. or Westport after dark, and STAY AWAY from Quindero, Parallel, and most of Southwest blvd if you can. The chances of being robbed or shot in a drive-by are high in these areas, and we have a serious homicide problem here. It's mostly common sense where to avoid, but some places get really bad quick if you go the wrong direction.

Haven't done this, but it wouldn't be tough in most places. If you can find employment then you're pretty much set, the government isn't going to come knocking for some foreigner in their country, not worth the resources. The only problem is that you probably won't be able to leave the country and if you're in any sort of major incident where the police need to investigate, then you're fucked. It's all a matter of luck from there.

knew a Chinese girl who was living in New York City and working under the table for some import / export company in Chinatown, long after her tourist visa had expired. (statistically this is much more common than the "mexicans climbing over the wall" cliche).

everything was fine as long as she could pay cash (presumably she also had to find a landlord who was willing to take cash without asking questions - which in turn meant another friend from chinatown, which meant they were really persnickety about not letting her have overnight guests and stuff.) not sure how she managed banking but somehow she was sending money home. Western Union i guess?

as soon as she needed an iD, any kind of ID, she was done. couldn't get on a plane, even domestically. couldn't travel by most other means either. couldn't even use my guest pass at the YMCA because they flipped out when she didn't have a drivers license (no idea why they care).

basically as long as you aren't breaking other laws the government doesn't give a crap -

In most European countries, you will not be able to get an apartment illegally, and even on the off chance that you do, your neighbor will report you as a "suspicious person" and they'll come check your documents.

Is it worth it to see Disney World as an adult? I was never able to go as a child, we were too poor. I am almost 30 now, and capable of going, but I fear it would just be an awkward experience as it seems generally geared towards children. Is there enough stuff for adults to do and experience, or should I just not bother? I like most all Disney stuff, and it was a large part of my childhood, but I've never really been an obsessive fan.

I'm tempted to say you're an idiot. You should probably delete this thread and just google, but I'm supposing you're looking for an alternate opinion.

When are you going? I would suggest going to a Yankees or Mets day game, it would be a cool and relatively cheap way to spend an afternoon. I always suggest Cubs day games when people go to Chicago in the summer.

If you like food, there are endless eating options, from genuine Chinese to obscure African cuisine. I'd suggest you look hard for one or two genuine New York pizza shops.

Many different neighborhoods just in Manhattan are rich in history, try surfing Wikipedia to see if there are places you'd like to visit.

I've always wanted to visit MoMA, and there are a number of different museums and stuff in NYC, if you're into that sort of thing.

Central Park seems cool too, but I can't imagine it would be worth it to spend more than 2 hours there, unless you're counting going to the zoo or something.

I imagine the Statue of Liberty is a massive tourist trap, so if you're planning to go, I'd catch the first ferry.

(Disclaimer: I've never been to NYC but it's actually really high on my list of places to go.)
