Anyone have any upcoming trips? I am leaving tomorrow for Kiev and Tbilisi.

Just connecting in Munich with my final stop in Kiev.
I want to travel but just looking at maps like that and thinking about how far it is scare me to death.

I'm leaving for the Netherlands for a week this Saturday. Looking forward to it. I've never been to mainland Europe before. I'm going for work but I'll have plenty of down time.
What's living out of your car while traveling like
>>1241977
I had fun doing it.
You've got to be really diligent with organization, though.
>>1242053
Any tips?
>>1242061
On organization or just in general?
Im going to be in AUS for a month and id like to fly into New Zealand for a week.
Whats the best all around city to spend a week in? Nightlife and hiking?
As of now I dont have any transportation planned in NZ, so im a bit limited on where i can bounce around to when i get there.
>>1241964
Didn't go to the South island so I can't say about that (for what it's worth everyone we spoke to from NZ said the south was better than the North), but there's a ton of nice trails right around the lakes near Rotorua.
I assume you'd fly into Auckland from Australia so it's only ~2 hour drive IIRC from Auckland to Rotorua.
>>1242016
I did a little research after posting and im thinking Queenstown. Seems like a perfect mix of outdoors stuff and nightlife.
Getting around NZ is super easy. There's buses that go everywhere.
I'm going to Australia on the 20th of June ($1600 for the round-trip flight and a 1-bedroom apartment for 12 days). I'm going to spend time with friends and go clubbing.
What should I know about the place? Is the alcohol expensive?
Why would you come to australia to go clubbing?
>>1241894
It's mostly the "friends" aspect of it, clubbing is just a bonus
>>1241888
Aussie here, Australia has the most expensive alcohol than any other country I've visited.
Whereabouts in Australia are you visiting? I hope not NSW because we have very tough restrictions with the sale of alcohol and lockout times for nightclubs.
Odd question, but I'm going on a trip to Western Europe next month and everything is fine but my friend who I'm going with says I shouldn't use the backpack I am planning to use because it's look too "militarized" and will get us caught up in airport security and draw attention to us in general.
Is there any truth to this? It's literally just pic related
Thats a nice pack.
Link to Amazon pls.
And no. If you don't look like a criminal it wont get you into trouble. And even if so. Are you carrying something illegal?
If you're from the US check out our knife laws. Unfortunately you can't carry every knife a hiker would like to have.
>>1241860
I use my real military backpack all the time. It even has military labels. No-one gives a shit.
>>1241866
I just bought it from Walmart tBh. It's a SOG Ninja day pack or some shit.
Not sure where to post this but...
How do you decide where to move?
I currently live in Orange County, California, USA. I am homeless as of today, have a little bit of savings but lost my job and my apartment within the past month.. and do not have any idea where to go. I'm a freethinker, love being outside, making art/painting, hiking etc.. I cannot really afford to do that here. Rent is crazy high and jobs pay too low.
I have an idea of where I would like to live but cannot decide to save my life, I fear moving elsewhere and regretting it.
There's still some last minute hiring going on for summer work in Alaska. Look for a place that offers housing, work for the summer, have some fun and decide where to settle in the fall.
How much do you have? You could just pick a country that you've always wanted to go to and start there. Or move all around the US. Go to Alaska like anon said, or work at a resort in some national park. The money might not be amazing but you'll be with awesome people and it'll kill time until you have a better idea of what you want to do.

How hard is it to get weed in Uruguay? For what I've seen, only residents in the country can plant it, and there are some restrictions if you want to buy it.
I want to go to uruguay, and I think my experienced would be poorer if I didn't get to try the good stuff there. So, is it hard to get weed there? Can you get some if you befriend some uruguayan?
DUDE WEED LMAO
I hope someone beats you up and robs all your stuff there

Thanks, grandpa, really glad you could help me.
Seriously nobody?
Going to India for three weeks in July - August with 3 friends. We want to visit Rajhastan (and maybe other nearby places). One of my friend is 23 years old and it will be the first time he leaves our boring city.
We want to do or see really unusual, weird, less touristic stuff. I'm thinking about eating weird animals, seeing yogis and gypsys and sadhus, etc... We are really, really open minded and not faint of heart. We want to leave the country with our mind blown and great stories to tell.
Post your suggestions, tips, ideas, or experiences.
Thanks!

camel safari? havent done it myself but it seems pretty popular
>>1241512
They take you to weird Kabeliya gypsy encampments way in the desert and shit the camel trek is usually pretty coo.
Some Denmark tourist chick ended up putting a bunch of the gypsy kids through school by herself because they often live in shit conditions these days http://pushkar-children-trust.org/about/

In Ajmer there is a lot of Sufi pilgrims and festivals complete with Hijra (trannys) dancing on hotel balconys as you walk down the main road to the shrine.
Then it's literally some guy who yells "BRING OUT THE EUNUCS" and they come down to dance in the street, right beside the performance artists who buldge out their eyes with swords and large knives. That qualifies as pretty weird an unusual

Forgot to add, when I was there many offered home cooking classes. Basically you team up with a local Indian cook and they take you to the market, teach you what to pick out, and then you go to the family's house or restaurant and learn how to cook the local dishes. I did the "nobility" version where you went to some Thakur's palace and prepared about a dozen dishes over 5 hours but it was worth it for me since I'm a cook anyway and I now make a mean Gatta and Khadi. I also did the cooking classes in Jaipur with a local chef for about $78 for one day which were just as good but less royalty and dudes with gold swords walking around.
Is Uruguay as comfy as they say? There country name almost spells OurGuy. How do they treat Americans? How bad is crime? Is there legal weed any good or is it schwag? im seriously about to pack my bags....
>>1241316
uruguayan here.
crime only is really bad in fucked up neighbourhoods. pretty safe in mid tier places. legal weed is a meme. i mean, you can smoke freely everywhere, but they dont sell it in drugstores like candies like the socialist fucks who govern want the rest of the world to believe. they've been delaying that for some years, and probably will keep delaying it since it was something conceived by our previous president, not this one who is a doctor who wants to control what people eats drinks smokes etc etc. you'll need someone to hook you up in order to get quality stuff. there's also schwag around (paraguayo, prensado), but nowadays looooots of people grow their own stuff. i dont have an answer for "how do they treat americans"......i mean, i'd treat you ok, probably leftie scum will inherently kinda hate you because they've been fed the "THE AMERICAN IMPERIALISTS ARE GUILTY OF EVERY BAD THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED" narrative for too long. that shouldnt discourage you if you want to come here tho. but i really don't know why would you come here of all places. personally i think its boring as fuck, but you should come anyway to see for yourself.
How's the food? Is there a comfy urban area I could live/eat/drink/walk around with only entry level Spanish?
Argie here
I conceive Uruguay as a nice place for relaxing, with great beaches. Very friendly place, and I loved the food too (even the processed food, I found it different and tasty). It's a place mainly to chill; don't expect to party hard or something too extreme.
Greetings, /trv/,
Next year I want to go to Russia for the World Cup, watch a match from my country and then fly to Caucasus to pass 10 days in Armenia and 10 days in Georgia. After that, I want to return to Moscow to see the final match.
I know that in the returning part of the travel I will do at least Vladikavkaz (1 day), Rostov (2 days) and Voronezh (1 day) - it will depend on which group my country will be -, but I have no clue of which places could I know in the other countries apart from capitals and Batumi - for both I don't know for how long should I stay. Do you have any suggestions?
>>1241162

>Vladikavkaz
I'm Russian and I wouldn't go there, it's like Wild West with random jihadists and not very fun adventures.
also Armenia is mostly a ruined shithole outside of the capital, it's second biggest city is literally Detroit in the 90s, you could try some ancient monasteries in the mountains and lake Sevan near Yerevan
How do I immigrate to peru?
>>1241108
You can buy citizenship for $25,000 and even pay through installment payments through an immigration agent there.
Or marry a Peruvian.
>>1241108
Go there
>>1241109
>You can buy citizenship for $25,000
not any more, since at least 10 years.
It's pretty easy to obtain permanent residency though, and then citizenship after having lived there some 2 or 3 years iirc
jfgi OP. Peru is one of the easiest countries to immigrate to
Hey /trv/!
I'm flying from Detroit to Mexico City in late June. A little under a month later I'll be jetting back out of the capital to JFK, where I'm taking a flight to a country in Africa.
In total, I have 25 days in Mexico. I earn about $600 per month from a freelance writing contract and am hoping to pick up another client before I leave. My tentative budget for Mexico is between $30 and $40 per day. I plan to stay in hostels, budget hotels, and eat cheap food.
Honestly, I'm not sure where I should go in a month in Mexico. The only two places I've been recommended are Teotihuacan and Puebla, both of which I plan on hitting. While I am fairly adventurous, I'd prefer to avoid narco-infested areas.
Interested in nature (hiking and camping, but I'm not bringing a tent), meeting local peoples and learning about Mexico's history and politics, and eating good food. Marginally interested in nightlife but am generally pretty introverted.
If anyone knows a good place to rent motorcycles for a fair price in Mexico City or on a safe part of the coast, that'd be amazing. Would be happy to break my budget for a few days on a bike (learned to ride in India and have biked Nicaragua and parts of Turkey; have had my endorsement for a few years in the U.S., so not worried about traffic too much).
Happy for any suggestions!
Thanks!

Parque Nacional Desierto de los Leones in Mexico City is pretty cool. It's way up in the mountains on the edge of the city with trails and nice waterfalls.
The memes are real my man, all the place is infested with narcos, not even trying to sound /pol/ with these words.
t. I lived in veracruz until january of this year
how safe is it? I was thinking about going for a few days next month.
im going to barcelona in June.
pls recommend me clubs, restaurants and musea.

Everybody I know has been robbed there either having their hotel/hostel robbed by employees, being held at knifepoint in an alley for a wallet or pickpocketed by gypsies. Enjoy

Hi /trv/, I'm travelling to Seoul with my family for a few days in July and I've been given the task of building an itinerary. My question is, what are some family oriented things to do in Seoul and the surrounding area?
The youngest of us is my sister who is 20, and the eldest is my father at 60. We're quite a fit family and walking all day isn't a problem. We're interested in art (both contemporary and traditional), history and culture, and trying new foods.
We're interested in participating in a JSA tour, however, I can't find any companies undertaking tours in July due to tensions with NK (from what I understand), but I could be wrong.
Thank you for any suggestions you guys come up with.
