So, I'm heading to Hong Kong in September, most of trip is already planned. I just need a list of the best places to shop and some things that might not be as well known.
I'm most interested in shopping for Electronics and maybe some used cameras.
Champagne Court for cameras

To to Tsuen Wan. There's a market with lots of cheap goods and counterfeit goods in the area.

>I'm most interested in shopping for Electronics
Sham Shui Po has Golden Dragon Arcade.
Monk Kok Computer Centre is also good.
I like this store for PC parts:
www.jumbo-computer.com/main.aspx
Order in advance and pick up and pay cash.
Help me out anons, I'm going on a few day trip with a friend across EE. We wanna hit up Prague, Wroclaw, Krakow, maybe Rzeszow, and some places in Romania.
Now, I wanted to ask Czech and Polish anons about any good spots in Prague, Wroclaw and Krakow. What to see during the day, where to party at night, where to not get shanked (I've heard about Nowa Huta) and any good pubs in Prague to try their creme de la crop beer etc?
Any help will be greatly appreciated
If i was you i would go to latvia, i hear in romania they steal kidneys

As for Wrocław -
Old city (all that brown stuff in the middle) - usually more expensive but nicer pubs.
A - most of the city center's clubs and cheaper pubs serving shitty beer. Hordes of very drunk people in a tight space and probably the easiest place to get into a drunken fistfight. Some better pubs in the surrounding streets.
B - Wyspa Słodowa, a place where the police generally turns a blind eye to open air drinking. Crowds of students with store-bought beer on warm days. They've started locking the place up for the late night unfortunately.
C - row of claustrophobic pubs of varying quality under elevated railroad.
If you want craft beer, the pubs to check out are Kontynuacja, 4Hops, AleBrowar, Browar Stu Mostów (though the last one is far from the center). They tend to be pretty packed on the weekends so start early. Can't help you with best clubs, I've always hated those.
Hey folks, I'll be visiting America in July and the only major cities I'm yet to visit are Boston and Chicago.
So, would you rather spend a week in Chicago or in Boston?
>>1256399
Spend a week in Boston so you can visit other parts of New England, as well. You don't need a week for either city.
>>1256399
Neither, but if you have to choose, go to Chicago. People are friendly there. Boston is full of assholes.
>>1256399
For the fourth? do NEW ENGLAND. Stay off the cape though. were full.
Has anyone here trekked Nepal? How was it?
try posting in the SEA general, rather than making a whole thread just to ask a question
you're more likely to get a good answer
>>>1249952
>>1254682
nepal isnt in south-east asia though
>>1254833
that's true, there are two india threads you might try in
maybe even make a Nepal general
I talked to a guy this week who said he did the "middle band" of nepal and he loved it, but I don't know much myself exept the roads are notoriously unsafe
Basically I want to become a hobo in Japan. I'm sick of my home country, all the people around, the society, the entertainment here, the politics, the weather, the scenery, IM SICK OF EVERYTHING!!! I just wanna run away so bad but I don't have too much money at the moment. Someone tell me how much money I'll need to start my hobo journey. Im fine with sleeping manga cafes, capsule hotels, a box, just anything where I can have a place to lie down and some sort of roof on top.
And dont talk to me anything about getting more educated. Ive done high school but Im sick of education and Im not gonna study 1 day more. I can talk a little bit of japanese.
PS: If ur here to tell me how stupid my idea is then go ahead but Im not gonna change my mind
>>1237083
Where are you living right now? If you don't have much money and only have a high school level education, can you even afford a plane ticket?
>>1237088
Not right now, I will have to work a few months to save money. Basically how much will I need to live like a hobo? I live in Finland
u know 4chan Im sick of you too. Why dont u guys answer to my threads sometimes
Is life safe in US states like for instance Colorado or Texas, where everybody bear guns? I consider whether is it safe to go for a walk when you know that everybody can shot you?
>>1259467
It's safe for the same reason as going for a walk where everyone has knives or keys to a vehicle.
I lived in Memphis for a while, one of the most dangerous city in the US, and most of it is relatively safe if you don't wander into the poorest part. The US is pretty much ghettoized fairly 'well'.
>>1259467
It's really only a problem if you commonly get into major arguments with people who might be unable to control their temper and reach for a weapon. How many major arguments do you normally get in with locals when you're on holiday, OP?
Hello, before I start, I apologize if someone bothered my post, I just try to make a nice detail for my girlfriend, with whom I will be 8 years of being together and that we love to travel, if you could do me the favor of Help me I would appreciate them infinitely, I just want to be supported by showing a photo of a piece of paper with the following written (Elena, the love that Luis has felt for you since he met you, is so great and has grown so much that he came to ...) and the place and date below, if it is possible to see the place from where the photo was taken would be a beautiful detail of an unknown traveler to a stranger who loves his girlfriend and wants to do a detail for Propose marriage
>>1259346
Hermano, yo no creo que mucha gente te ayude aqui con eso.
>>1259346
When will you propose? I'll try to help with a photo in the Buenos Aires Obelisco (Argentina), but I need a bit of time since I'm with a lot of work. Hope some more people help
>>1259346
Puedes darnos detalles del veulto en que esta foto fue tomada? De donde a donde?
Recently certified scuba diver here, looking to get some long weekend dive trips in. Also looking for some freediving and spearfishing. I live about 4 hours away from Wilmington NC, so around there would probably be where I would want to do this, so I could drive and not pay alot for airfare.
Problem is, when I get there, I have to pay for hotel, which always cost alot anywhere near the coast, and I have to either rent a boat ($$$) or pay for a dive charter since there really isn't any good place to dive accessible without a boat.
So we're looking at ~$100-200/day hotel, ~$350/day boat or ~$80-150/charter trip. Does anyone know how I could make this trip cheaper?
Thanks. Pic is something I took freediving in Hawaii, btw.
>>1258833
>Does anyone know how I could make this trip cheaper?
Use airbnb or stay at hostels, you'll shave off 40-140 dollars a day
>>1258833
OP, where did you get your certificate? I want to get it but I'd prefer someplace cheap. Heard Latin America and the Caribbean might be the place, but haven't done much research yet.
>>1258852
I actually got certified from a friend of a friend who is a PADI divemaster, in the middle of North Carolina, where I live.
If you're American and want to get certified out of the country, make sure where you get it is properly accredited - some countries have lower standards and their certs won't be accepted other places.
I have a 9 hour layover in Amsterdam.
What should do, see, eat etc.?
>>1258233
Well what do you like to do? Get stoned and go to the Reijks Museum?
>>1258233
Red light district. 9 hours will be enough for about 9 hookers.
Smoke some Weed at Barneys but dont buy at the fucked up shops near the train Station
Going to Spain for the first time in July.
What spots should I not miss in Madrid and Barcelona?
And what are some good places to eat?
>>1257845
Make sure you see El Escorial, also if you can make it down to Peñíscola, south of Barcelona. Well worth it.
barcelona restaurants:
tickets
cal pep
Go to Barrio Gotico in Barcelona anon, eat and drink there is awesome, actually almost every place in Barcelona center are really good, you are going to have a great time there. Dont go to Madrid, its smelly and boring.

What else should I do in London?
The Science Museum is free and has stuff from the industrial revolution. The V&A is pretty cool, also free. Greenwich observatory if you're into time and shit (used to be free, I think it now charges). Borough Market for food.
Not sure Parliament is free unless you're below a certain age and prebook or an MP or peer gets you in.
>>1257271
I got invited in when I was a kid by a peer that has now been arrested for historic sex abuse charges
>>1257289
So was your trip free...?
What's good in this City?
I've been living here for a couple months and let's say there is always some kind of cultural event and festival you can go to. If you want a more complete answer you can start by saying what your age is, what kind of things you are into/looking for, etc
>>1256954
according to this old vid you have a good view from the notre dame basillika
https://youtu.be/9OdqQCmBbmI
>>1257794
Not the OP. I'm Australian and 25. I'm going there to meet a cute French girl but I'd like to explore the place too. I'm mostly interested in history\culture\art, or anything to expand my mind.
I'm not much into the outgoing 'festivals' or drinking.
I'm vegan so there's that too.
Good day.
In a couple of months I'm going to take a three weeks car trip somewhere along this route. I already have a few of places on my list, but am looking for some tips from You. Hopefully, some of You live nearby or have been around.
Can You recommend any sites? Mind, the route is flexible.
I am going to spend say 50/50 nights in a tent and in ho(s)tels. Do you know of any good places to do wild camping and nice hostels? And how is wild camping in these countries anyway, problematic?
Also all stories of similar trips welcome!

In Romania go a little more east above Bucharest. Brasov and/or the mountains around Busteni.
>>1255021
Thanks mate, I will definetely spend a day or three in Romanian Carpathians. Transfăgărășan has been my only mustsee so far, Busteni goes on the list as well. Are You Romanian?

Do any of you travel for work? Care to talk about your job and what's better/worse about traveling for work compared to traveling for fun?
I'm a programmer considering working at a consulting company like Accenture or Deloitte that sends people out to businesses in different locations to help on projects, but I'm trying to get an idea of how much time I'd have after work to explore the places and if the work travel is enjoyable or not.
>>1253183
Traveled a fair bit with work and in general it wasn't much fun, but it varies very much with length of time away and travel frquency.
Being paid to sit around on airplanes is nice - hassle with security, immigration and plane delays when you have a problem job waiting and getting worse sucks.
Staying in decent hotels and eating out is nice - corporate chains and hotel food look much the same regarless of which country they are in.
Different nightspots and random strangers can be fun - but tired and fed up after a long day in a strange office where you know no-one is not so good.
Longer trips away may give you weekends to see some local sights - the inside of an office doesn't vary that much across the world and the only way of telling the location of a clean room or data centre is by the food in the canteen.
Travel can pay well - missing anniversaries and birthdays can get difficult.
There is no upside to jet lag ever.
tldr I would probably do it all over again but am gald I have now retired.
>>1253257
>this sounds purrfect, i wish i had this sorta shit.
Instead im working in a professional job with no travel :<
>>1253183
I haven't personally done a consultant gig with international travel but a few friends have with mixed experiences.
A lot of it will come down to the length of the job and whether your employer is cheap on accommodation, from what i hear expect long hours and not much time to explore but the money is great and accumulating flyer miles or hotel reward points is nice to take personal holidays when possible.
Is it true that Canadians are treated significantly better than Americans in most countries?
Why? We're exactly the same. Canadians are maybe a bit more snooty and a bit less assertive, but everything else is the same.
>>1252361
No way you guys are way more boring. Those who are unfortunate enough to be stuck in a conversation with a canadian will understand
>>1252361
Nobody can tell you apart, so there's no prejudice. It's just that americans are often cunts.
>>1252361
Ye Canadians are definitely treated better. I have American and Canadian mates and the Americans get bantered more, mostly because half of the country are clinically retarded on a global scale, but also because they're fat cunts and they have a dogshit dumb presie.
