I'd like to make a start on making some TF stories. Since I haven't really done any before, does /tfg/ have any genre-specific pointers on how to make them not shit? Also, post things that you'd like to see.

Things I like to see in TF stories, though?
Some exploration of how the transformee is affected by the change. Their initial reaction; how they cope, what the impact on their life is. Even if it's not something that's explicitly spelled out or covered by the story I like to see some thought given to events outside of the immediate scope of things.
Reactions more complex than "Oh no I am changing" are always nice to see, although, at the same time, if it veers too hard into "THIS IS THE BEST SHIT EVER, SO LONG HURRMANITY" it can jar me out of it.

I think it comes down to having the "victim" react as a person and not as an empty vessel for the TF: If they're shocked or surprised by it initially, and it's not excessively painful or immediately impactful on their minds, have their personality reassert once the shock wears off.
If the change has a mental component then you've got more room to play- do they fight the changes? Accept them? How much control over the direction of the changes do they have? This all applies to non-mind affecting TFs as well, now that I actually think about it.

This stuff is harder to articulate than I thought it would be, although that might just be the remnants of last night's migraine.

Start when things get interesting. If you start before things get interesting, I've got to read a bunch of nothing words before I get to the interesting part.

Pace yourself and take it slow. Don't describe one category of changes all at once, weave it into a flow of actions. Think about it like steps in an image sequence, and then describe each of the steps in turn.

Don't be afraid to linger on details, and be sure to use imagery. Some people rush through the details, but you really should take your time and paint a picture with your words of what this feels/looks like.

As a corollary, try to think of new and interesting ways to describe what's happening. How would it feel to be growing tits, or muscle, or a muzzle? What does it feel like to have a transition between skin and fur moving across your skin? Hone in on those little details and you'll make the description even better.

Lastly, consequences are important. They give weight to what's happened. Show your character struggling with their changes, or embracing their changes, or trying to undo their changes--but whatever way you play it, you can get more mileage out of a TF by showing how it's affecting their life beyond just being in a new body/having an altered personality.

If you want to make it erotic, you should at least read some erotic short fiction beforehand so you don't have "they feel like bags of sand" syndrome. There's also websites that offer erotic terms for body parts for variety, so you don't find yourself writing "her vagina wanted his penis badly" like 4 times.

Avoid "welcomed" changes, aka wish fulfillment plots if possible. They are the least interesting.
Make it clear in your writing when someone is not human. If you take an exchange between characters (or any kind of scene for that matter) out of context and can't easily make out if the characters are human, anthro or (sapient) feral character, then you're probably doing it wrong.
Read other people's stories. You'll easily notice when they are shit and when they are not. Take inspiration from them.
Don't give up if you don't get comments, feedback or even likes/favs. People tend to do that only with known and/or prolific (but not necessarily good) writers, and almost never with newbs.
Don't switch between first and third person, or past and present tense.
Don't write literal laughs or screams, instead mention the fact a character is laughing or screaming, and how.
Proofread. In the name of all that's holy, at the very least a single spelling check pass in Word.

Kind of. I do like fan fiction where it's working with characters and settings that are already well established; that way, the writing can get to the TF stuff right away. Yes but the good ones are few and far between. 99% of the authors on the standard furry tf sites are complete trash and the 1% that are good update rarely. Here's a short list of quality authors.

Kotep: Known for the best tg and bimbofication story on the internet BXBI, its sequel BXBI 2, and a few other short furry transformations. Frequents the discord group and /aco/

Abe_E_Seedy: Writes short to mid length tf stories illustrated by Angrboda. Focuses mainly on female and lesbian transformation. Doesn't have many stories for free but the ones that are are pretty good. I think he also writes scenes for TiTS

Draconicon: Known for hypnosis, latex, transformation, and feet. I don't like some of his work because of the last point but he wrote a pretty good story called the Park of Mirari, which has some of the weirdest combination of tags I've seen on FA. You got dudes turning into Bowser and Wile E. Coyote while trying to survive in an amusement park. Shits crazy and it gets kinda gay.

Nex Canis and Zeeme: A couple that each have their own series of transformation stories. Nex's stories revolve around furry wolf superheroes having gay times and transforming while Zeeme's involve horse transformations.

Poppagobbastoppa is pretty good. Lots of TFTG to Mario stuff, Digimon, and random characters. Assorted other kinks.

Microphoneunderground does massive, in depth stories. Lots of latex and corruption themes.

Fakeman is good. Wide variety of stuff, but usually animal based rather than fantasy/OC/pop culture icons. Smattering of latex, too.

BadRoy has some really weird stuff, but some really good stuff. Lots of smell, latex, corruption, and more M/M stuff than the others.

Xerox2 rarely posts, but his stuff tends to be big and detailed.

Kotep has a tumblr that I think he's more active on, as well as his own site for his work. Abe has a page where he sells his stories and I think Draconicorn has story streams where he invites a bunch of people to watch him write. He also has stories for cheap too, but they range in quality and fetish content.

Not really, but there's player slavery mods for TES games that remind me of what you're looking for.

For Oblivion, there's one mod where it's possible for your character to become enslaved by even creatures, and if you receive enough dickings to get your willpower to hit 0, you lose the will to escape, so practically a bad end though I'm not sure if any of the dynamic stuff it has means there's a hope spot in such an event. You could play a beast race (be it vanilla or modded in) from the start and imagine you're transformed or something, or use the console to do it mid-way through. There's a quest line or two in there as well.

For Skyrim, its premiere player slavery mod by itself isn't really that good since nothing really happens other than the occasional fuck. It does however feature the danger of the player becoming a Spriggan host that envelops the player's body if defeated by one, which is a little TF worthy but not all the way. It's got plenty of mods that piggyback off it to put you into enslavement by other means, but I don't think there's any to give you less boring things to do in slavery than just waiting.

There's also a body modification mod that can alter your body the more or less sex you have, it also implemented MtF transformations with an optional in-between futa/herm stage and bimbofication as well.

You might have a thing for his lineart, which I kinda can't get into due to the cartoony proportions, but it's not like his coloring is terrible - getting some guy to polish the hell out of it in photoshop isn't going to magically make his stuff look like professional artwork.
