Awesome response, this is what I've added to mine so far:

Ice bears/Vultures/Saber-tooth tigers/Mammoths as they're all undead

Gargoyles, Banshees, Specters & Zombies, Frankenstein monster (use them as abominations) from cm14

Spiders/Scorpions as Nerubians.

Ghosts from Ninjago

Good idea with the Ninjago skeletons + garmaddon would fit in quite well.

What headpiece would you use for the skeleton costume guy? Adding cultists sounds like a good idea

with some reïnforcement by using a a 2x2 tile/plate and 1 x 2 brick for structural support.

now it looks like you need to have lateral movement to steer, rather than applying a torque to the bar

Probably a red-brown lightsaber blade, pearl gold lightsaber handle on top, then a trans-blue Nexo Knight sword piece on top of that? Wouldn't look super close, but it's a start I guess.

The old POTF and POTF2 SW figs had only 5 points of articulation. Don't the modern cheap SW figs have the same?

Lego minifigs have 7 points of articulation.

Lego is more articulated than 3.75 SW figs.

The yellow bar in the back is the one that's moving, if that's what you mean.

If you want to display it go with Caterham, since Krennics shuttle can only really be displayed in landing mode, which looks infinitely worse than flying mode.

If you just want bricks i think both are good, and krennics shuttle got really nice minifigs

Either the weight or the fear of it falling down. If you can deal with those problems you could definitely hang it from the ceiling

As long as it has strong enough support keeping it hanging it should be fine.

What should I get for myself? I used to love the old SW sets (Mos Eisley Cantina, Endor, anything with locales), Alpha Team, Res-Q and Adventurers. I've always fancied an industrial train set.

Depends on how much you're willing to pay. If you're willing to pay a lot, check out Bricklink, where you can get almost every old set. Might be very pricey though.
For recomendations for new set a price range would be helpful.

If you're looking for western sets, you're out of luck. The only ones which were produced after the classic western theme which you remember are Lone Ranger sets, which are most likely not in stores anymore (but again, would be available on Bricklink)

Serious question, anons. Why can't LEGO change its massively successful business model and line up of licensed and original themes to produce historical sets that appeal to only a handful of 30+ year old fans?

We collect kids toys. I don't see what the big deal is and why so many AFOLs can't come to terms with that.
>But expensive sets
Ask anyone who works at a Lego store. There are tons of well off kids who get these UCS and Expert sets for holidays or just because their parents think it's good for them.
>But I buy a lot
And so do other AFOLs, but they still don't spend as much (as an overall percentage) as they think. LEGO doesn't release the numbers, so we simply don't know.
TLG's mission is to produce quality toys for kids. As an AFOL, I'm fucking glad they do. I like silly non-cannon vehicles and playsets. I like goofy minifigs and puns.
If you want serious scale shit and historical accuracy, get into models. LEGO is a toy.
>>
>>6063399
Because making toys for kids is about a trillion times more profitable than making toys for adults, and at a thousandth of the headache and hassle.

Ever been to Eurobricks? It's a great argument for why AFOLs should never be the intended market, except maybe the occasional modular or throwback like the Exosuit. Some of those guys are still bitching how they're not getting a real castle theme, bluhblubh nexo knighs are the worst thing ever all my nightmares are coming true

And Flama is a tranny. Enjoy your inevitable police station, anon.
>>
>>6063427

Kids don't want detective's offices with real washing machine opening action, they want firefighters and police and vehicles in every set.

Either carefully plan stuff in Lego Digital Designer, purchase the specific parts required, and build it.
Alternatively, buy a fuckhuge superlot of used pieces for an okay price and start tossing something together.
I tend to stick to the first option except I don't have money to buy the stuff I build.

>"I want to make X so I need Y bricks and assemble them like Z"

I guess I'll poke at this. I want to make [a house] so I need [Lego] bricks and assemble them like [a house]? Maybe you're over thinking it. If X and Z have to be different for some reason, change Z to [the steps of building a house]. Don't try and solve for anything with a great master plan. Just try what works. More like: If I want to build [a house] I should take the bricks I have and arrange them in a way that looks like [a house] to me. Or just buy a Lego set and follow the instructions.

Alright, it's time for purging duplicates and other undesirables. I'm giving away these four. Exactly as shown, no bases, some little extras.

1. the Double Rogue, twice as lovable, extra quiver and bow, unusually long neck

2. Dual Berettas Bananaman

3. a hiker, lost among these stone killers. He gets a cold weather hood. That's kind of lame, I'll think of something else to throw in.

4. the Devil, with a hand grenade in his pumpkin skull bucket. Let us pray for a happy accident.

Winners will be chosen randomly from list of email addresses. First one in 3-4 days I think, then every couple days until finished. First three get a choice of course.

Post your email for one entry on the list.
Build something and post email/timestamp for one additional entry. Something extra awesome and possibly Classic Space themed, two additional entries, max three since I don't want to unbalance things too much. Merry Christmas and all that, good luck!

Question, have stickers improved over the years?

I have a lego ferrari f1 1:10 car from 2004 and most of the stickers are coming off, it's sad. I touched them and they feel really thin and shit, don't know how to describe it. Not like modern stickers.

Nah, i love cars.
It's just the supersized stuff that seat only one figure i'm not so hot for.

>>6063703
Cool anon. Not sure where you're from, but if shipping to west-europe isn't a problem i'm in.

This is what i was working on today. It's technically just a modification of a build i did some time ago though. It used to have some off-roady/buggy style to it. It's a race-modded beetle with wide bodykit and cool stripes, a whale-tail and aerodynamic floorpan butt sticking out of the rear. I started off just trying to see if i could make the front a bit less square and ended up redoing most of the chassis structure for adding lower side-skirts to match the new front bumper.

>>6064447
That's neat Anon, love the colours and little scenery you built with it. Reminds me of the swinging penis tripods from Half-life2.

Found some black 1x4 plates with two studs

I think this is about finally done. Extremely happy with how it's turned out, and I didn't think I'd be able to top the cops but I think I like this more. It's extremely swooshable and I've been carrying it around for the last half-hour.

It wasn't but it's pretty old, as are the pieces available when built and some of the techniques (although Moonbase-style airlocks are badass, if old-school).

Here's his "updated" Blacktron SHiP though.

So, even though I found the movie to be abysmal, the design of the BvS Batwing has me intrigued.

I think the official Lego version looks kinda ass though. I have done some searching for decent mocs, but they all look like butt too.

Does anyone have any pics of good mocs. I want to make pic related, but could use a good jumping off point.

It kind off works if you don't put his cowl on all the way. Otherwise it just covers the top of his eye-holes.

2006 cowl works best, the one with the missing chinstrap looks the worst

Look for part 98282 (half height wheel arch), 50745 (full height wheel arch), and 18974 (Speed Champions brick-connected arch). They're in the icon menu of the aircraft tail, assuming you're using LDD Extended mode.
