Have any questions? Check out the guide:
>Day after the New Years party. Make a diorama of your characters hungover as shit and shocked at the things they did the night before.
>Take a new 2016 set and build something ONLY using pieces from it.
>Benis (Best Entry: Ninjas in Swimwear)
>Freedom is great. Build a diorama of a villain escaping prison or guarded transport with/without the help of henchmen.
>A bar for your minifigs to drink at for the New Years party.
>Finish that unfinished MOC from 2015!
In addition there is a brick built pushchair (stroller) to accommodate the brand new baby fig - not the baby in papoose seen with the tribal woman but a figure that's roughly the height of minifig legs and one stud wide, with little arms and head. It looked very cute on the illustration :-)
>Finish that unfinished MOC from 2015!
>tfw the majority of my Lego is currently packed away until midMarch
Is it me or this Tooth-mixel looks...a little too rich with parts? I dont remember regular mixels being so fucking "thick" and having many parts.
This mixel looks like a fucking MAX already. Does that mean their Max will be even "thicker"?
they're usually 50-70 pieces, given that he has pretty minimal legs and arms, the part count is used on the body
and generally the ones on the lower end have either bigger or more unique pieces. sure that "tooth" piece is new, but its small and easy to produce, so its not that unique in the future. honestly the pick and the trans green are more "unique" for him than the other pieces
Oh, look what the courier finally decided to deliver to me at 5:30 in the afternoon?
Gonna build this tomorrow with the little sis.
I'm 18 and I have not stopped being into lego since I was 3. I am scared of my dark ages that will come out of nowhere. But hey for now I am happy making mocs in LDD and not being able to buy them :^)
Looking for a Valentine's gift for my girlfriend (20, casual Lego fan). We got the Valentine's Cupid Dog set and built it together, and she had a lot of fun and said that she wanted to build some more stuff together. I thought it'd be nice to get her a small set for Valentine's.
Should I go with the classic Lego Rose, or the Creator Park Animals 31044? The rose is more obviously Valentine's related, but she thought the park animals were adorable.
Also, if there's a better set to get her (quick description: she loves the shore, animals, and cute shit), what is it?
Pic related, a fucking duck
go with the creator
not to sound cheapskate, but creator sets get three builds for their price, thats three times you can build something together on days not valentines, and since shes a filthy casual, you can take it apart quickly with your separators or whatever
obviously if she likes animals too, and already said its cute then thats bonus
the obvious answer is "whynotbothmexicangirl.jpg" though
>tfw just barely noticed the 1×2-lengthwise-with-ball
Dick Status: Diamond
Looks to me like a knockoff/custom of Katarina, from League of Legends.
Decool has a League set. I think that might even be what's behind the character.
It's a pretty repetitive build but I enjoyed it. It was my first set I've picked up in over a decade.
This is why it's on sale pretty much fucking everywhere. Amazon has it for $30 off right now, and they had it even cheaper than that a couple weeks ago. Hell most places are selling the fun packs for over half off.
When I said it was the first set I've picked up in a decade I meant it. I've only gotten a few Dimensions packs since I got it earlier this month. It's definitely not a bad set by any means, it can just get tiring making the same parts over and over again, namely the console panels and the police box walls.
Zuckuss and 4-LOM. They've never had a set, even though Boba Fett, Dengar, Bossk, and IG-88 have appeared in multiple sets each.
>3-D print your head on a Lego mini figure
This is just fucking wrong and scary.
>There's some knockoffs of Iron man 3, including marks 1,4,16,21,35,39, war machine. iron patriot, and tony stark.
Sh-should I buy it?
A set that mainly are girls and they ride vehicles that are part animal, with some villians that have vehicles, drillers, and mechas. It's like a cross-over between girls theme and action/adventure.
>not actually using lego minifig parts to build yourself which will make an actually accurate LEGO version of you
It looks like some bullshit that normies would buy. Some...hipster-kind of normies that also collect Pop Vinyl shit and other pretencious stuff like that.
Do you have plans of building a complete IM3 Hall of Armors? If so, go ahead. Having the collection up that way is always neat.
Otherwise, maybe just stick to the official armors Lego has been releasing. Honestly, there's a lot that they've made already.
>mk 5 suitcase
>mk 17 Heartbreaker
>mk 33 Silver Centurion
>mk 37 Hammerhead
>mk 39 Gemini
>mk 44 Hulkbuster
>Civil War suit
>War Machine Mk II
>War Machine Mk III or something
>tfw I'll never upload a Lego Idea that takes advantage of the normie "geek chic" culture or the internet feminist culture to get votes
>tfw I'll never make money off of Lego after all the money they made off of me
>tfw I'll never finish my Lego TV Studio idea
Sounds more like pic related to me, which would be a pretty rad theme imo but might not do as well with the kids since they're not looking back at old themes with nostalgia like we are.
Also I'd pay good money for a Lego Racers 3, imagine the original remade on a modern engine and with way more options for customization
>Deep Freeze Defender
>racing the Hypno Cruiser
>racing the Adventurers car
>racing the Mobile defense tank
>racing the Crab Crusher
>racing the Fire hammer
>racing Worriz's Combat Lair
OH GOD IT'S SO FUN.
I CAN ALREADY FEEL THE MONEY FLYING OUT OF MY WALLET.
MAKE IT ALREADY TLG!
I'd buy it, might be a little too simplistic, but I like it
Definitely the park animals. More fun and you can do a lot more with the pieces. The beach house sets from Creator are pretty nice too.
Seriously, for the future, don't act like this. It's embarrassing. Come on, we're adults.
This thing right here. The rest are lots of superhero figs from the games that don't have a real version yet.
The biggest problem with making a Hall of Armor is that you have to add a pod every time a new figure comes out, which means you have to constantly expand the base.
This is a MOC I designed quite a while ago, and I never decided to pull the trigger. It would look cool, but I'm kind of glad because now I don't have to worry about adjusting it to accommodate X new suits.
Iron Man suits look just fine in a display case. I ended up ordering parts for a different MOC earlier this month.
It's easy enough, sure. It just means I have to adjust the angle of the rest of the pods and make the baseplate longer.
That right there is already like 1,100 pieces though, and this was before we knew about Gemini, Hammerhead, and the two Civil War suits. I just didn't want to fool with it.
I think having a Hall with 42 spots should be enough for the next few years' worth of official armors. Plenty of Tony's first 42 are just minor variants of the red-and-gold anyway, so it should be able to accommodate every new version with those colors, as well as the specialist suits like the Gemini.
This is my armory it separates into two sections and is beyond ready for any new iron man figs.
I would like see a Chima returns.
Inb4 pic is just a 5 min sketch to show you what i mean.
After the ice melted and the phoenix vanished, many areas of Chima are flooded with water.
Suddenly a dinosaur tribe flee from dictators from below, seeking refugee. They are hunt by aquatic pirates and slave traders (reuse of atlantis molds suid/shark/crab) as slaves for the dark (purple) chi mines .
What i want to see are a dinosaur tribe, riding on dinosaurs (jurassicworld molds/dinohunters), some beaver and crocodile molds to fight in the water. Aquatic pirates with the atlantis molds and them having crab walkers, maybe a ship that is a half crab, flying shark subs and squid vehicles.
The enemy race would be revealed later.
i imagined them as some pirates.
Kinda like the pirates in ice age. Where you can throw in different races.
>tfw all your bl orders arrive
Speeder completed how do you guys like it?
that would be hell.
Praised by te net to be a genius moc artist but cant collect fame in reallife because afraid of called sick for moc-ing erotica with lego.
Just made a space chopper because ive been making a lot of unoriginal stuff lately wanted to make sure I could still be creative. Im the maker of the d-walker and speeder bike in the thread.
I finished my tan mixel robot. The legs do fairly human poses and it free stands fine.
Menu > View > New themes > LDD Extended
More parts are available in this mode, and you can use any colour you like, even old ones (the paint tool has a larger palette). Models made in one mode can be saved and loaded in the other mode with no issues.
Okay, finally got v1.0 of my first attempt at a MOC finished. It's mostly uncoloured though and I'd like to make it a lot better before I commit to it, but I'm stuck for ideas for both of those things.
It's supposed to be a livestock wagon btw, if there's a view you want ask and I'll take a quick pic.
End of dump.
Time to wait for all the pieces to be released in the right colors.
I hope that movie is good. At least the design of things will be like the Lego movie, in that everything is made of Lego. I think that's a big failing of the various TV series and things made from Lego properties.
I agree. When I first heard of ninjago series I hoped for "Bricks in nature" series as they are often pictured like that- In games, minimovies...
I hoped they will build/ rebuild sets to show kids how awesome is to rebuild stuff! ANd they could put instructions on their site.
Same with speedors- they barrely touched the customization aspect - in both sets and series. And I thought Speedors were amazing, because they were not only a game but also pieces that could be used with sets in normal play. (Not like Spinners). But back on topic- YES I hope is Lego The Movie: Ninjago. WIth new story and new world. It can be wacky and told by Finn. I dont care as long it will be good and filled with always funny Lego humor.
they are regular minifig, all the game data is on a little disc they stand on. some of them are exclusive, i believe Dr Who has a different print than in the big tardis set, but not all of them. I think the lego movie characters are all reprints, as is gandalf and I assume batman, but i'm actually not sure about the specific costune.
I thought the original chi is already electric. Ice chi was just the powers unleashed from the ice tribes.
Diamond could be interesting, like with every elemental chi you get different powers. Diamond chi makes you harder or stronger.
I think this is kinda a little bit too early.
Ninjago gets a movie because its legendary theme, the turtles hype/movies and kung fu panda movie might be a reason for the movie.
But Nexo just started so i assume there will be no Nexo movie inthe near future.
Lets wait how the theme developes.
The speedors and spinners were hard to re-use.
I found some making digital use of the speedorz front.
And i didnt like the both of them very much. It was too gimicky and too expensive.
I'm probably gonna pick up some more glorp corps from the new wave today get more joints, light green, and translucent booger color pieces for my tentacle monster.
What minifig did that face come from?
Brickset has descriptions
70323 Jestro's Volcano Base - £99.99
This is the largest Nexo Knights set yet but is also one of the least interesting in my opinion. The base is quite substantial, occupying an area of about 40cm in width and depth but there is little detail and it suffers from the same issues as 70014 The Croc Swamp Hideout. Lots of space seems to be wasted and the colour scheme is blander than I anticipated, consisting predominantly of black with a little dark red and trans-red thrown in to represent lava.
Despite its dull appearance this set is packed with play features. There are trapdoors, spinning blades, spikes, falling rocks and a lava waterfall, all of which must be negotiated before you can confront Jestro at the top of the volcano. This kind of playset does not appeal to me but I am sure it will prove popular with children, although I cannot help but think that it would be even better if the colour scheme included a little more orange.
The minifigure selection is excellent. Jestro, the Book of Monsters, two Ash Attackers, a Scurrier and Lavaria are included along with the Book Keeper, a short-legged lava monster whose job it is to carry the Book of Monsters around! We see this character in several episodes of the Nexo Knights animated series so I welcome his inclusion here.
Great. I dont need to buy Evil mob... FUCK BUT I WANT SPARRKS
Ah, I see. So it's my fail.I edited this photo by lightroom, so I failed with contrast.
Anyone ever buy the knockoffs on aliexpress before? Thinking of getting a Kylo Ren since it's only like 80 cents shipped.
Wagons are usually boxes on wheels.
If I had an idea of what I could do to stop it being a box on wheels I'd def consider if not do it. This is basically a stepping stone for me before I dive straight into trying to do a large steam train.
I have a kylo. The faceless version. Everything about him was fine EXCEPT for his lightsaber blade. It was a lightish pink. Same with my Revan, his blade was a lighter red.
Easy fixes at least, and youre still saving cash. Do your orders quickly though, as chinese new year is coming up and that completely FUCKS shipping things from china. You end up with very long shipping times.
>Maybe add some more colors
I did most of it dark grey simply because I didn't know what would look good, without involving rare / expensive colours. I'm just not experienced enough to know what my options are.
>make a curved roof instead of 45°
I'm definitely not happy with the roof as it currently is, but this was just a tempory job while I figure something out. Not even sure if I want a roof that can be removed temporarily or a "permanent" one. Mind taking a quick pic of what you mean by curved roof?
>try to find a logo from city sets etc ...
Any particular recommendations for a casual newbie?
>they're knocking off of brickarms now
I swear there's gotta be an alternate bootleg chinese universe somewhere.
>why does everyone and their mother complain about this shit
Because the interface is about as intuitive as a round peg in a square hole.
People are used to ebay and amazon levels of ease when it comes to online shopping, they're basically the standard. Bricklink is comparatively much harder to use.
I'd like to see someone design a system that can handle such a database of small things for buyers and sellers that works as well as bricklink does and is 'user friendly'.
Oh nooo, someone has to take fifteen minutes learn to navigate a website, what ever will we dooo
>Marvel sets get just about every villain, hero, etc
>DC sets are just Batman and Batvehicles
Why are kids so shit
I didn't really want Rey's Speeder before, but after seeing this I kind of want one now. Has anyone modded the net on theirs?
From yesterday. I did it. I had to use a round 1x1 because for some reason a normal one wouldn't work, even if both side connected
Anon, I want to make a small Mars colony MOC. Question is, what color to use on the base? Dark orange seems the closest, but it's pretty rare and there aint no slopes other than 1x2x1 in that. Reddish brown seems too earthlike. Do I have to settle on dark red?
>Getting my taxes done soon
>On top of that, just got a $3 raise at work
>Time to wait for all the pieces to be released in the right colors.
If by that you mean teal, then don't bother. Teal is discontinued.
>can't do taxes yet because I'm still waiting for two W2's
Usually I prefer to upgrade to newer minifigs.
But for Chewie, the older design has a certain classic charm, and has the additional plus of not looking like Homer Simpson wearing a gorilla suit.
Yes, sadly. Medium Azure would work great, though.
I would be satisfied if I could just replace all the grey parts with white. Unfortunately, the hip parts haven't been in production for 9 years so I'm fucked.
>tfw sale after Christmas at Best Buy
>Got game for $57
>Got little packs for $9
>tfw now getting figs for $6 each
>tfw bought 4 Cybermen and Dalek packs
>tfw my fw the face w
>mfw tfw I want a C3PO red arm
>going online for $8
>toys r us has a huge stash of them along with mini hulk
I'll never manage to get a copy. It hurts me so much.
>full of play features
god it must be massive for that price and for them to not shove anything visually interesting in it
yay another lavaria and new bookkeeper. i might be turning slightly retarded though, but whats an ash attacker? scurriers are those fat short fucks, cant remember attacker at all
Not really god tier but i really love the Resistance trooper transport. Otherwise i'd say the non UCS version of the Tantive IV
Mixels are honestly the most fun cheap LEGO set ever made! Both in terms of the regular models' interactability and because the parts are just fantastic for making small creations out of.
>store still has wave two so theres sets with those joints in stock
>they used to be on clearance, and now they arnt
>every day i fight out the urge to go and buy out the mixels with those joints
Probably this. Not only do I consider it the best modular, but it may be my favorite LEGO set ever.
The Vic Viper that comes with Alien Conquest 7066.
Mainly because of it being created to Honor the death of a well known Lego fan!
Remember the time when Muslims got upset at jabba's palace? That was fun.
Who's recently been to a Lego store? Will I still find any Lego Movie sets for sale if I stop at a Lego store tomorrow? I really dragged my feet, and now the website lists a few as sold out.
Lego, I have some questions for you.
1) How much do you spend on Lego a month? Is just your extra blow money or is it around the same each month?
2) Do you have a budget? If so, do you stick to it? Do you try and pick up sets on sale to stale in budget rather than getting it right as it comes out?
3) How many lines do you follow, if any? Do you just skip around and buy only the things that look cool?
I probably spent 600$ in November + December, but i haven't bought lego since 2008 or 2009, and The Force Awakens came out.
I will probably not buy a lot until i find a new job, and i usually stick to Star Wars, but i like vanilla medieval sets.
1) Not a lot, I usually buy japanese figures.
3) Just Mixels, and I only buy the ones I like.
1) I dont have a set amount I used to spend too much now I am more patient
2) No budget I usually get sets I want that about to retire first
3) I used to skip around I DO NOT recommend it unless you are super rick with a lot of space
Yep. That's me, my watermark is on there. I dont have summer catalog pics so I can't draw anything this time around. German Toy Fair is in a day or two so there's no point, really.
IT IS DONE. WHO YOU GONNA _____?
(Also watched the first movie while finishing bag #14)
It's basically a licensed modular. Some of the interiors are dodgy and wobbly but the roof holds it together.
Not worth $350, but it was pretty fun to build.
>American is "first world"
>implying $350 hamburger coupons is not a lot of money for literally a doll house
Man you have no idea how many hamburgers and ice cream (typical American breakfast) I could have ate.
Video game shooter series WHEN?
if i was making this is would turn these pieces around and put transparent green pieces for more of a cocpit display thing
>Not worth $350, but it was pretty fun to build.
Well, compared to the actual modulars, it is fuckhuge, and also has what, 4600+ pieces?
I'd say $350 isn't so bad for like the third largest LEGO set ever.
>people complaining that the Ecto-1 doesn't fit inside
Yes it does.
1)Not too much. I only buy a few sets a year, usually smaller ones at that.
2) Pretty much tied in with the first. No need for a budget since I probably don't go over $50 annually.
3) Mixels, Minifigures, and Bionicle are all I follow, but I'll jump in with themes or random sets that interest me (in the past this included Monster Fighters and Galaxy Squad).
The bad guy "generics" all have different names, though.
That one specifically is called Ash Attacker. I forget all the other ones, but one is Flame Thrower (the bad guy who comes with the King's Mech).
Is there a site where I can see all of the Lego knockoffs minifigs? Some of these parts are really cool.
I really hope they make a knockoff Witch King one day. It was a waste that Lego didn't produce his helmet from Return of the King.
i think it should be some handles.
So I was thinking on getting some generic soldier minifigs for my superhero figs to fight, which is the best theme for
fleshie
generic soldiers? I think Indiana Jones could have some of those, but I wanna know if there's more
I only use Arron backed up by Macy, Eggs and Bananas mean i have full heath all the time and then sword tornado when i can :c
Hope that Spaceship,Spaceship,Spaceship turns out to be a physical shield, Would suck if its just on a poster or such! My Yoren of futuron would look kick ass with that shield!
>tfw no green version of this torso/shield/pants
I've gotten pretty much the whole line at this point. The Fortrex is pretty cool, but as far as the smaller sets, Infernox and the King's Mech are pretty excellent. Stay away from the Library unless you want it as an add-on. Can't speak for the Mecha-horse or Rumble Blade.
Eh? No, this joint is new to 2016. As far as I know, the only set to have it right now is the Nexo Knights KingMech.
Are you mistaking it for the non-ball 1x2 piece? The one with the linear joint? Because they were very common in Series 2.
It's finally here. Time to build hover horses.
Got more Glorp Corps mixels. Meet Tentacle monster 2.0
I have a bunch of them tentacles on my Mutagen man. Hes currenly limbless and boxed for my moving :(
I stopped buying new sets in 2009 and discovered BL in 2013 or '14. From then to just a few weeks ago, I only bought old sets in the themes I wanted as a kid, which included Star Wars no newer than 2009. When the new TFA sets came out, I decided to remove the pre-2010 clause as well.
1) I don't really keep track of every dollar, but I'm certain it comes out to no more than $150 a month over the course of a year.
2) Given that the vast majority of my collecting is focused on retired sets, I just try to find the best deals on BL, but I'm also watching for sales/clearances on new(er) sets just so I don't end up spending extra a couple years down the road for sets that are available right now (75100 and 75101 are currently 20% off on Amazon).
3) My BL wanted lists include UFO, Exploriens, Life on Mars, Alpha Team Deep Sea, Throwbots, and early Bionicle, but right now I'm concentrating on Star Wars.
>tfw finally breaking an inspiration block after 2 months
want to see v1 He was pretty shit back then :P
Where can I get?
Some TMNT foot soldiers look sorta like terrorists so they could work, same with ninjas, because, well, ninjas.
Star Wars has Stormtroopers and smilars which are pretty recognizable and look very sci-fi
I dunno about Jurassic World, what's in that? Park guards with weaponry?
LotR orcs and those would work maybe as monsters from other worlds, maybe summoned by Loki
Thanks anyway, anon
Power miners rock monsters use it! We got the red version this year in Nexo Knights !
This is a pretty old pic as hes boxed up but on that first pic I showed I managed to use transBlu joints on him! Just a shame lego dont like having large translucent parts much!
Still not finished though untill his limbs are 100% bluegreen and transparent! Its the only reason I look forward to bionicles as they might have more trans green I can use :D
In other news I cant get this looking anymore accurate :( The megablocks version looks pretty good for megablocks but still isnt as good as mine as they ignored the skull on the front and other stuff :P
>Just a shame lego dont like having large translucent parts much!
Tell me about it.
>We got the red version this year in Nexo Knights!
There's an orange one in the Ultimate Lavaria set.
So I tried seeing if I could make motorcycles/ATVs in the same scale as those cars I posted last thread.
I'm honestly not sure what to make of this.
Rough size comparison with one of my previous cars for the interested.
Don't say I never did anything for you anon. I don't know why she's so happy about it though. Must be her fetish.
Does anyone else feel that Futuron does not get much love as compared to the other early space themes like Classic Space?
YOUR LEGO TABLE HAS BEEN INVADED BY SURPRISE NINJAS
WHO IS THERE TO STOP THEM RIGHT THIS INSTANT?!?
I feel that every day
>YOUR LEGO TABLE HAS BEEN INVADED BY SURPRISE NINJAS
It's more like my LEGO floorspace.
One day I'll go to a store that has Rey's Speeder in stock, and I'll actually find it. One day.
I should just order it online, but I've only just come out of a 15-year Dark Age and can't really justify the price PLUS international shipping just yet.
I dont want them to be space Nazis just space assholes
They won't if there's cute animals on the tanks, now would they?
Here you go anon. Organizers are from both Walmart and Home Depot.
Do you use that brush for the dust accumulation? Soft bristle im guessing, right? I was thinking canned air for that, but it seems it might blow parts off shit and all over the place.
Just bricklinked a big blue boat hull to make a party boat for my spacemen while i wait for internet in my new pad, never built any boats before so may have to spacify it for space travel! pretty excited t.b.h
Reminder there is someone who has these prototypes. And we have not.
The element of surprise is insignificant next to the power of the Force!
China has them.
I bought a 12 pack of them in a few different colors. They are nice but the arms fall off if you move them too much. Great for display, not for play.
Not bad for a few bucks.
>No Superman Punch-'em-up-mobile
>No Spider Buggy set
>No Ironman sports car
>No Thanos Helicopter
>No Silver Surfer speed boat
>No Aquaman water ski
>No Spider Machine GP-7 and LEOPARDON
I finally managed to make both horses, but the only issue is that I forgot to add the clip that is used as the horse's nose, and for Lance's horse I was 1 plate away of build it, luckily I found spare pieces and I completed it. And I forgot to order the tecnic ring.
Macy looks great there, although I want to get the book on the chariot set.
I saw someone try this on /lg/ before and thought I'd give it a spin.
Found a small single bag set and contructed it in the bags.
This part with the arms was the toughest bit.
>wonder if Lego will release a huge Stay Puft.
Nah. Instead well get the PATRIARCHY PUFT "man".
Lego got the liscense for cuntbusters, so for better or worse, all we get now are reboots.
Honestly, I have more hope for a UCS DOC BROWNS TIME TRAIN, as there arent any solidified plans for a back to the future reboot YET.
Nothing substantial like Martha Mcfly and Dr. Julia Brown or anything.
Having just the head/collar built up behind the firehouse is on the maybe-I'll-do-eventually list.
They intend to keep supporting Dimensions for another three years. With Wave 4 coming in two months, expect to see a more packs announced for most of the IPs they have save for ones like Back to the Future which don't really have much more they can add.
Holding out hope for a Paternoster Gang team pack with Strax and Vastra, or a Missy funpack myself.
it really looks like it's easy to build. I really wonder how you supposed to connect the rest of the body to that "Motorcycle" part? because i have that part and probably have all other parts only in different color.
Bessie could turn into the Whomobile that would be cool. Speaking of Bessie I just got finished recreating the dimensions one in LDD. Would psot a pic but the image limit has been hit.
