maybe those 'hf torsos' are stand-ins for crystal torso parts which are in development?
Guys I just gave my giant box of old bionicle to my best friends' wife's. 10 year old brother who loves bionicles. Then I when out and bought skullbasher And Onua 2016. I made the right choice r..r..r.....right guys?
I'm pretty bad at MOCing, anyone got advice on making a better Skull Scorpio humanoid?
I'd say, to start:
1. Make the "legs" into more of a cape type thing, or at least make them articulatable. As-is, they are too bland and static.
2. Try to incorporate the Beware My Stinger Tail feature in, somehow. Either by swapping around parts, swapping an arm for a giant crushing claw, or even separating it into two smaller versions on each hand.
Other than that, it looks decent, just needs work.
I'd swap one of the dark bluish grey limb piece connected to the stinger for another metallic silver bone limb piece, and change the build of the stinger so that it matches Jaw Beast's foreleg. Downgrades the tail's poseability a bit but seems more like what a set would do
Tried #1. Not sure what you meant by cape thing, but I've made the legs more articulatable. Better? I tried turning the stinger function into weapon last thread, but it looked like gogo gadget garden shears
I made a few improvements. How does he look now?
It's only in SB though, why would they make a new torso mold for just one set?
Sadly prelims usually show already all the new molds to come. What they change to the final product are really minor things like dualinjected colors, prints and maybe a bit different build.
They never add any new molds from prelim to final product.
How is Umarak?
The villains have been really lackluster so far (only gotten Skull Grinder and that was mostly because of Ekimu) but Umarak looks pretty cool with his technic legs and antlers..
Ew. Are the Uniters' necks really that long or did the reviewer mess up?
Also, can anyone take a photo of 2015 Pohatu wearing the 2016 mask?
Hey /biog/ just took some shots of the redux of my revamp of City/Turbo (The first version was built back in 2010), took a little inspiration from the NOD Stealth Tank.
Yeah, Makutas Mask looks amazing. Also just realized that Umarak is as much as the larger toas, neat, tought he was in the same price as the Skull Grinder set.
So what's the story this year? Umarak and his shadow traps try to catch the creatures (why?) while the TOA tries to get to them first to combine with them?
Then Umarak puts on the Makuta Mask and gets controlled by it and turns into the Umarak Destroyer set of summer? Where does the summer beasts come from?
Couldn't get Nintendo to agree on Lego Ideas Zelda sets, so they made their own with Bonkle.
What do you think that Temple of Time nonsense was about?
Or the fact that the Skull Spiders are literally Skulltulas?
How I think it will go
>Ekimu upgrades Toa to be able to combine with creatures for greater elemental powers
>Toa find creatures
>Umarak hunting creatures
>Toa go to find Mask of Control, Umarak follows
>Umarak succeeds in getting the Mask of Control and goes beastmode
>Umarak controls beasts that come from somewhere
>Toa fight beasts
>Ekimu comes to help and [toyspoiler]gets beaten[/toyspoiler] by Umarak
>Creatures sacrifice their physical bodies to help the Toa beat Umarak, revert to elemental form and go live inside the Toa so no icky 2016 gimmicks get in the way of the cool new buyoursets gimmick in 2017
Removed the cat ears and changed up his weapon. Is he close to having an official set look? I can't tell any more
If you want a official set look, add more trans orange on the upper half, remove the silver shells (the Skeletons use gunmetal or transparent shells) and don't use a Toa chest piece.
That picture is awkwardly photographed and they look much better IRL.
Hiroshi Fencington: Hibachi Chef
>With a name like Hiroshi Fencington, some would find themselves trapped by destiny to be fencing masters.
>Those people are not Hiroshi.
>While Hiroshi did become a master of the rapier, his true passion lay elsewhere: steaming on a flat, incredibly hot surface.
>Hiroshi abandoned the Way of the Sword and dedicated himself to the Way of the Chef, setting aside his Tecton Saber for a pair of Edge-Turners of Eons.
>After years of practice, grease burns, and dozens of reattached fingers, Hiroshi Fencington became Hiroshi Fencington: Hibachi Chef, master of two trades.
>Now Hiroshi spends his days defending the realm alongside the Ragtag Defenders, and his nights preparing single-portioned dishes on flat, incredibly hot surfaces.
>Buff Drinklots is big
>Buff Drinklots likes liquor
>Buff Drinklots like punching
>Buff Drinklots is not a "big teddy bear" underneath his gruff exterior
>Buff Drinklots does not want to be your friend
>Buff Drinklots wishes you'd go away right now
>One night after a liquor and cheeseburger party got out of hand, Buff's life-partner, Randy, suggested he find a more constructive outlet for his drunken violence.
>Within a week, Buff found himself signed up for the Ragtag Defenders where he remains to this day, beating bad guys into flesh pudding.
>Buff's warcry is a slurred jumble of drunken syllables, completely indecipherable...save by the one who knows him best.
>Randy knows. And every time he hears Buff roar in a drunken stupor on the Ragtag Defender's highlight reel, he sheds a single happy tear. Their relationship isn't the strongest that it's ever been, but they're working on it.
I've been with Bionicle since it started, but dropped it at the end of generation 1. I sold all my legos thinking they were "kid" toys and soon got into Figma, SHF, Gundam ect. Recently I built the CCBS General Grievous and I remembered how fun it was to have a quick build and left with a satisfying toy I could actually play with, compared to hours of building an unstable gundam that I put on my shelf and forget about. I definitely think I wanna get back into the Bionicle and CCBS scene, but how would Bionicle look on a display next to high end figures? I know I wanna get Skull Grinder, Skull warrior and a few of the toa, but my question is, how do they look on a "professional" display with lighting, glass cases ect?
Mind if I see some of your displays anons?
Styx Mullagheah and Goldtown Scruggs
>Styx and Goldtown, hero and villain, were lifelong enemies before joining the Ragtag Defenders.
>"Mekhanoydz" from a lost civilization, neither knows when their struggle began, but after countless defeats and stalemates at eachother's hands they both agreed that morality is actually pretty grey and set aside their differences to "do something better with [their] time."
>Surprised to see that civilization had sprung up at a safe radius from their aeons-long conflict, they decided to see what was up with that.
>When a drunken Toa-brawl erupted around them at the Hibachi restaurant they were having lunch in, Styx and Goldtown teamed up with the (surprisingly well-trained) chef to quell the violence.
>When the belligerent drunks lay comatose, Mullagheah and Scruggs realized something: While they were both sick of fighting eachother, they agreed that something "felt right" about beating the hell out of other superpowered beings.
>After a lengthy discussion with the Hibachi restaurant's proprietor, the three formed the Ragtag Defenders: Spherus Magna's Best Defense Team For-Hire™
>What do the inscriptions "Marend-R Mk.01" on their chassis' mean? Nobody knows, but boy howdy do the local Toa hate it.
Oh. Speaking of Kaita, I made some protector kaitas and a Wairuha last year. These are the protector ones. But I have a couple of pictures I don't think I've ever posted of the toa kaita getting weapons from the protector ones like what happened with the normal toa and protector sets last year.
Does anybody know where the Hell I can order some of these BLOCK bootlegs?
The Journey to One will use the engravings from Revenge of the Skull Spiders for a "The story so far" segment at the start. They cover everything from the Legend to the end of the 2015 story while also introducing the creatures, so they're pretty much perfect for that.
Having prescreened Journey to One, I can neither confirm nor deny that, but I can grin and squirm in my seat; similar to what I would do when presented with an accurate prediction from a Bionicle fan.
February, at some point. Before Valentine's day, I think.
Like...pretty good, I think?
Between Clone Wars and Adventure Time, I'd say.
They picked me because of all the youth-targeted shows I watch.
Clone Wars in terms of action, and Adventure Time in terms of surprisingly in-depth and offbeat-yet-relatable lore, character development, and storytelling.
It's definitely one of the weirder shows that Lego has made, but it works in its favor. I came to this forum because one of my bionicle interested friends on Tumblr said I should, so I don't know much about bionicles but they seem pretty cool.
>Go to a store that ships within your country
>Select parts you wish to own, and add them to your cart
>Go to checkout, select the shipping and payment preferences relevant to your scenario
>Check out, pay via the method which you have selected -- PayPal, money order, direct transfer, etc.
>Wait and receive your parts
I felt that it was fitting. Gali and the one with guntits were both feminine, but I got the feeling that they could kick my ass at any given moment.
The rest were very appropriate.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi blacksmith was a lot like Getafix from the Asterix cartoons; grandfatherly yet stern.
I especially liked Lewa and Pohatu. Pohatu was australian, which was awesome.
There was a lot in the first episode about this mask of time and "ancient heroes" that didn't really match aesthetically with the rest of the stuff, but the tone and presentation was cool.
As for the rest of it, it seemed like a recap, but it meshed and hinted at a lot of things that added depth to the overall narrative.
As a sidenote, the pic up in the header looks a lot like one of the monsters that came up in the last episode.
I was never really into bionicles. I just came here because I screened the netflix show and a tumblr friend said i should, so I wouldn't know. What kind of atmosphere was there?
As for the soundtrack, some of it felt "unfinished" if that makes sense.
What was there was pretty decent. A kind of tribal/electronic/dubstep mix with some "classic fantasy" score thrown in. I liked it.
>Pohatu was Australian
Imagine the sheer speed and amount of shitposting that would occur if Australia got its hands on the Kanohi Kakama.
You say that as if one anon is more is magically more credible than the other. As far as anyone should be concerned, it's all bullshit.
This happens almost every time something of significance comes up. Some fucking nobody makes up a bunch of lies just to get their 30 seconds of fame, and then they fuck off never to be heard from again when the truth rolls around.
The fact that people even humor these baseless statements as '''''''''''''''facts''''''''''''' is really embarrassing.
The more I look at Umarak the Destroyer, the more I think it will be on of the best sets in the entire BIONICLE history.
Yeah, yeah, I know you may think I'm exagerating and all, but damn son it's just so awesome.
Was ANYBODY regarding them as actual facts? I'm pretty sure we all know it's bullshit until proven not bullshit, but as long as we're bored as hell and have time on our hands, might as well ask a question or two in the off chance they're actually telling the truth. If it turns out to be real? We got a neat inside scoop. If not? Who the fuck cares?
The fact that you're taking either end of the situation seriously is really embarrassing.
>Creatures sacrifice their physical bodies to help the Toa beat Umarak, revert to elemental form and go live inside the Toa so no icky 2016 gimmicks get in the way of the cool new buyoursets gimmick in 2017
anon you're a genious, it all makes so much sense
while I'm about it I've created this headcanon that the gearboxes are an old mechanism made to improve the movement of the arms, thus it appears in ancient beings (Ekimu, Toa). Evolution has made those gearboxes not necessary anymore, since the arms have become strong enough.
And about the uniter torso, it specifically exist of course to allow unity with the creatures. Umarak has a much deeper connection to the creatures because of this, as his body was created to unite with them.
Legends of Metru Nui > Mask of Light >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Legend Reborn >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dogshit > Web of Shadows
what if Ekimu is actually full of marbled gold-trans blue parts?
full trans parts are alright, but marbled parts are the motherfucking SHIT
>The first type of matoran created by Mata Nui
>Lived in poverty at the core of the matoran universe, so much so that Galva actually preferred being a shadow matoran
>While living in Metru Nui, Takua had an entire squad of Vahki following him everywhere because he'd steal everything that wasn't bolted to the ground
Are Av-Matoran niggers?
My Skull Scorpio-Man looks kind of lame under a black light. I don't feel like he fits in with the other skellies yet.
>Name: Kralox Chum
>Factions: Makuta, Makutas Resistance Army
>Designation: Leader of MRA, warlord
>Born around 45 years ago on Okotos neighboring island Bokolok, Kralox Chum was best described as a Makuta Groupie. He spent hours in the libraries reading up on every victory by the Makuta, from the possession of the Great Spirit Robot some 2500 years ago, to the Battle of Quazos 4, where a regiment of Makuta and Makuta possessed soldiers slaughtered a battalion of Hero Factory soldiers in pursuit of a supply of Quazos. Kralox was infatuated with Makuta, and soon took to worshipping the species as Gods. It wasn't long before the child Kralox was abducted from his home and forced to fight in one of Bokloloks many civil wars. By age 25, Kralox was old enough to start his own milita. He became a warlord and formed the Makutas Resistance Army, a death squad employed child soldiers that slaughtered thousands in the name of Makuta. Of particular interest were his mines, where people were employed in pursuit of the gold that forms his signature armor. After Hero Factory officially joined the war on Makuta, Kralox was visited by Gerak, an insectoid Makuta recruiter, who negotiated the absorption of the Makutas Resistance Army into Makutas Army, and was given a golden replica of the Okoto Makutas Mask of Control as a gift. However, the mask is not functional.
>Weapons- Aside from a wide array of firearms, it is noted that Kralox is seen wielding an ornate gold plated sword capable of draining life force from those it impales. Intel suggests this earned it the name "Vamprah", after the infamous Makuta.
It's not actual sonic the hedgehog shit, it's a parody.
Might I join you, O' golden one?
Which one looks better?
Sorry if I'm posting too many pics of this guy, I just really want to get him right.
(Note: The child soldier who forgot to attach the picture has been stripped naked and flogged in the center of town.)
it's possible, and pretty simple
I did it with this piece of shit based only using parts from one ninjago set. Both rotors move in the same direction, turned by one gear.
But the gearbox is all technic you dumb shit.
It's a little large, but there's probably a way to do the same thing in a smaller space.
>Not laughing along with my goofy, knee-slapping humor that is usually expected from this thread towards those who use an interlocking brick system as a primary purpose of construction
because shitposting is the PINNACLE OF COMEDY, right
call forth now great walkmachine
he has many difficulty with bad guys and often lose his battles because he has no arms or hands
skid sleddar, great walkmachine builds from the another world to come aid justice in time of need
I have no fucking parts aside from a Protector of Stone, 2015 Lewa, and half a Pridak.
Rate this retard! I'm aware the Keetorange kind of looks shitty.
Just noticed I could do this I guess.
No idea why the pictures are sideways
Well in my short leave it appears /biog/ ramped back up to its typical level of shitposting that we're known for. In my absence I started a new MOC, a Toa of Ice with a hip swivel function from the Uniters, super articulated hands and it is going to wear a white Kanohi Pakari Nuva. And I suddely got the urge to shittily cobble something together in msppaint using my old as hell tablet (Ill finish it at a later date). Well, Ill go back to letting you guys drown in the shitposting. I warned you, you could have stopped his, but its already happened. Dont call it a grave, this is the future you chose.
>Dont call it a grave, this is the future you chose.
I call it home. As bad as it may be, I'd much rather rampant shitposting compared to overmoderated sjw hugboxes. At least the shitposters aren't expected to be taken seriously.
Cute picture too. [no spoilers]Your lines still look like chickenshit though. =3[/on toy]
Well the Star Wars-y name was intentional. I wanted him tomhave that kind of Space opera-y feel, since he's not just a warlord on Bokolok - he's spread the MRA through the Galaxy.
No excuse for Boklok though. I wanted to have something tribal sounding for Okotos sister island, but fuck that's terrible.
Will gen2 ever have a character as based as Hydraxon?
I sure wish that server melt down they had back in '08 had ensured they'd never come back, ever.
If it hadn't exploded like that, I would probably never have left, doomed to post shitty spritesheet comics to this day.
Ronin REX, got it as a gift. It's kind of an annoying set to make alt builds of. There's like 6+ colors on the main build to begin with, then half of it is technic frame parts, and it comes with a fuckoff huge windscreen.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, not to enable shitposters, but to give perspective... /vg/ is way worse. Waaay the hell worse.
I can't fucking believe I spent so much time with those awful people.
>If you make an MOC with Tridax pods stuck to its chest and a 1M waist, you enforce negative body image in girls who see it, and encourage young boys to uphold that as the ideal woman
>you enforce negative body image in girls who see it
>encourage young boys to uphold that as the ideal woman
>MOC with Tridax pods stuck to its chest
OH BOY I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE GENERATION OF GIRLS OBSESSED WITH GROWING TRIDAX PODS! Gone are the days of breasts! Now the new fad is growing big, plastic, translucent orange shells! It'll be even better when all the boys start trying to suck the shadow leeches out of their tits.
All thanks to the hard work of one brave, and surprisingly influential, MOCer
What gets me more is the 'pond ripple' shit. These next generations are going to be full of pussies like the world has never seen. I already have difficulty (especially on tumblr) with users who go berzerk at even the suggestion of something negative, or the sheer implication that something about them might be negative. Everything is a goddamned politucal statement and they always think you're their chosen boogieman if you disagree with them. Doesn't fucking help that they tend to be unable to recognize any irony in text, either. Some of them ACTUALLY BELIEVE that something being said online 'normalizes' it in real life.
I'm guessing that these types never lived in the days before the internet. More and more I am being convinced that the internet is more a tool of spreading artificial mental diseases than doing any actual good...
Kojima was right. Also to stay on topic, anyone ever built any Metal Gears in CCBS?
>post bionicle as a part of something in lego gen
>met with 'get out bionicle shitter'
>post something lego in bionicle gen because a technic gear function was relevant to someone's interests
>met with 'GET OUT REEE'
The simple truth is that anything but the most simple gear functions are too complicated for most of /biog/. They'd much rather spend their time writing backstories for their 2015 CCBS toa reskins like Krug Galaxidor than MOC cleverly
The globalists idea is to demonize white people and breed them to extinction by controlling western birth-rates to have an excuse for mass-immigration and dump down education by programs like common-core.
In other news we have skull warriors with blue toes:
I'm talking REALLY simple. 4 gears and up is too much for people here.
It's alright though, as I said people can just express their creativity through their super epic cool OC text walls
New mobile game
>bike downtown in the snowstorm
>go to my favourite toy shop, ask about the new bonkles since I want dat Umarak
>"Oh, those don't come out until March"
>Disappoint, head inside Åhlens (store that sells clothing, make-up, toys, etc) since they're advertisinga big sale
>Find all the remaining skull buddies (and more) at 50 % off
Everything turned out better than expected! I didn't intend on picking them up but I can't say no to Bonkles at half price. Now is the question if I wait or just order Umarak from S@H..
I hope you're right. In the first game they had Kopaka's protector combiner only available in the android version and Onua's was only available in the apple version.
I just hope they don't do anything like that again.
Just finished my Nidhiki revamp and I'm pretty with the legs. But can anyone tell me how to properly revamp the upper body? I don't have an idea for that.
So can we assume that since the skull warriors don't have any trans orange they are not controlled by Kulta but can act individually and there are hordes of them around Okoto in crypts and such?
I was the one that person quoted. Who was it again?
Fucking hell, that set comes with a cereal box. I hope I could find that set for 50% off.
we've seen kulta remade as everything between scrawny necromancer to big-boned berzerker
now if only there was a something like a Kulta-verse comic to bring them all into one thing
On the subject of fixes, I did a little fix for Umarak that improves his shoulders SIGNIFICANTLY.
Plus, it keeps him from looking like shit when his shoulderpads go out for the evening
>That cinematic as fuck tune
If this is what the game sounds like, imagine the soundtrack for JtO.
I reworked the back section of Skull Scorpio-Man to look the way I wanted it to. I wanted to change up the trans neon green parts holding the legs, but since I only have 4 of those parts in grey I had to change up the rest of the back. It feels really rewarding to try a bunch of shitty solutions, and finally come upon one that works. Now he looks neat under a black light, not too glowy, like he really fits in with his Skull Buddies.
It could just be the exact same OST, I mean if you look at the models some of them seem to be the JtO designs (see Tahu's upper legs and the red in them for example), and the artstyle is kind of similar, so maybe they are going to make this kinda stuff consistent across all media.
>Labyrinth of Control
When did Makuta have time to build a fucking labyrinth for the mask he wasn't going to use.
UTD is going to be trans yellow and I'm going to swim in an olympic size pool of the tears of naysayers when he's finally released
The biggest clue he's going to be green is this year's box art. The Mask of Control is radiating neon green power. If Umarak is corrupted by that power, don't you think he'd feature a similar color?
Why would they choose lime green to go with gold? Why would green go on a blue beast of storms? Green on a purple beast? They should have at least learned since Kulta and his gang, odd colors don't work.
Pretty sure it was just a random ass ancient labyrinth unrelated to the Mask of Control. I think it said somewhere that the Creatures were the ones who found the mask and hid it there.
They haven't learned. The Mask of Control is surrounded by explosive neon green power on the box art. All of these beasts and Umarak are powered by the mask, therefore they're going to have that neon green on them. Do you not see the copious amount of corrupt green ooze in the background? You're kidding yourself.
>we've seen kulta remade as everything between scrawny necromancer to big-boned berzerker
All we need is ranger Kulta and a theif Kulta to have a full team.
And it shall be called...
Kulta and Dragons
whats all this argument between trans-yellow and trans-neon green all about?
Yep. They're really rare, though. Only one set had them. Scroll down and you'll see it near the bottom of the page. http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?S=3808-1#T=I
Fuck you. I was finding ebin thread. >>>/s4s/4096142
>What even is the point of that board?
Niceposting and poking fun at other boards/sites.
>Everytime i try lurking i just get so confused
Read the wiki fignewton.
>is it like the shitposting general or something?
It's like that. It's one of the funposting boards, the others being /b/ and /trash/ except those are full of #Rudeposting.
Could the anon that did this show a side view possibly? I'd love to give pohatu some non stubby arms. Just more pics in general really. Can't really tell how you did this.
Full CCBS/Technic dragons with actual knees would be great. For the Champions I imagine they could try a gladiator theme like they did in 2009. Give the toa waist articulation and gearboxes back since they won't have to unite anymore and maybe give them an animal theme like the wave of Hero Factory that had Witch Doctor in it.
In not-short, it works, but the shoulder connection is floppy as shit and I feel like I'm gonna break it just breathing in its general direction.
That would only put more stress on the problem areas.
The shoulder apparatus has only one attachment, so all the weight bears down on that one axle-hole, causing them to bow outwards.
If there was some way to anchor shit on the pin-holes marked in green, then everything would be far more stable, but as it stands?
Would not recommend.
>Green deer thing born from shadows
>Have a bunch of random ass animals taking care of me
>One day someone attacks birdfriend
>That's my bird dad.

>I kill people
>Accidentally massacre entire race of warriors
>Creatures disown me
>I was only trying to help though
>Watch as they create a new race of villagers to populate the island I cleansed for them

>suck the shadow leeches out of their tits.
that's kinda hot
the colour doesn't help, but they look okay as long as you're not staring at the pistons. In their defense, I do like the idea of ab printing.
I like them better than the shitty flat textureless look of Tahu, Onua, and Lewa 2015. Had they made just the top part of the piece with slight texture to replace the crappy shaped hero factory one and applied it to the torso piece used on Kopaka, Pohatu, and Gali (recolored appropriatly) I think it would have been a lot better.
I love Umarak, but am getting really tired of bows since they limit posing and are kind of overused at this point.
Problem is given his whole hunter thing, I can't think of anything that would be a better fit for him, if he had a different weapon I feel like he would be more fun to pose, but I cant think of a better weapon for him.
You can always go with a spear or two.
Claws if you want to get extremely primal.
Gali anon back for more. I did a bit of work on her, and [toyspoiler]I think[/overusedmeme] this should be her last form. Any thoughts on my favorite mod of 2016?
Just out of curiosity, does anyone happen to know a better way to attach kk armor to ccbs shells? Right now they're only barely held on by exo force robot hands and a tighter connection would be preferred.
Oh, and since we're talking about Lewa mods, here's mine.
Gali's greatest foe... Lewa, master of lank
One last picture of Lewa because fuck you that's why
I can think of two options neither of which are perfect.
1. use lego system ice cream cone piece to connect the pin-hole on the KK armor to the holes on the shell, would still be a bit floppy and would leave a gap
2. Use the new stud with hole through middle piece, connect stud to pin-hole, then any kind of small bar piece through to join them.
Give me honest opinions, I need them if I want to get better.
Is Golden Skorpio alright?
nt that guy, but there's a better solution. There's a new part with a single antistud on one side and a short lightsaber rod on the other. Stick that in the shell, and use an o technic pin with a stud on one side to connect the kk shell to it
Hey /biog, went and redid my jet board hunter MOC, I even made a Bohrok with a unity function to aid him on his ventures. And yes, I know I copied Tahu's weapons but I couldn't think of anything. Any comments would be appreciated.
Yep, that's pretty much perfect. Thanks, anon.
I bought a bunch of that piece in case they might be useful and then complete forgot about them.
Only other colors I could think of, more silver and trans blue, because I only have the two earth blue shells Kopaka has.
Oh and this is the Bohrok. This was my first time putting a creature size function in a custom frame and everything of an old set.
>there are people that display Tahu in ways other than united
Why would you do this
I was watching a video on YouTube and this shit came up. Apparently Umarak's chest plate has a misprint going around? Anybody know how common this is?
Skull Scorpio-Man and his fluorescent buddies
I kind of want to get Skull Basher and Skull Warrior too, just because I've got 3/5 of the Skelly sets. Are they worth it?
warrior's pretty meh, just get him for parts and for the gunmetal mask to replace grinder's silver. Basher's okay. While his arm function is a little loose, it makes for a good template to design similar arm functions on.
sry for to long
>Akkun the Wanderer
>Akkun, a lone, brave wanderer who scavanges the surface of the planet in search of the remnants of his mask "Faroar", the Mask of Boosting, and his surviving allies.
>Several hundred years ago, Akkun was a part of a mighty team of 7 warriors. Together they fought and protected their islands inhabitants from evil. After saving one of the most skilled Blacksmiths on the island who was known for his Great Mask of Enchantment and making wares out of a mysterious foreign material. This blacksmith then made for the heroes their own equipment unique to their respective powers. However, after this, it wasn't long until peace had settled and they were no longer necessary for the inhabitants became able to fend for themselves.
>Then after an enemy of great power showed up on the island, destroyed the inhabitants front line of defense, and obliterated the North Western part of the island in one swoop, Akkun and his allies were needed once again. All 7, Together, fought with all they had but to no avail. Desperate to protect the inhabitants and the heroes that saved him, the great blacksmith had come to aid the heroes with his Mask powers. Enhanced with new found power, the 7 heroes at full mask and elemental power unleashed a torrent of attacks on the most powerful enemy they have fought. Severely wounded, this monster of an enemy lashed out and smashed 2 of the heroes, hurled another one out to the horizon, and, in some sort of "act of fate", bashed Akkun's mask off (which was still at full power) shattering in a violent explosion destroying the wounded enemy, throwing the remaining heroes in different directions, scattering shards of Akkun's mask across the planet, and literally vaporizing the North West part of the island.
>Years later, Akkun, awoken by a creature resembling something of ancient past on an unfamiliar island, armor worn, warped, and rusted, dons a mask void of power and begins his journey to reclaim what he has lost.
Back from holiday, the first thing I did was nab Pohatu and Ketar to try out this simple fix.
Unlike many, I decided not to add more dark orange and instead keep it as an accent. Instead, I made his shoulders dark tan by swapping his Vorox armor with Ketar (and buying a spare Ketar for the other shoulder). I replaced the trans-green 3L shells on his arms with silver ones. Finally, I did the friction extender fix on the legs provided by another helpful Anon in these threads (moving it from the ankle to the knee) to increase visibility of the thighs.
This gives him silver/crystal 'gauntlets' to match his boots, and makes his dark tan body piece a lot more 'complete' looking, extending from the torso to the shoulders and upper legs.
the answer here, as in all things, is to be a student of nature my dude.
Ketar also enjoys minor improvement from this fix, his colour scheme no longer plagued by a random piece of dark tan and instead giving his body some well-needed silver.
Here they are United in a similar way to the aforementioned helpful Anon did his. What I like about Pohatu/Ketar is unlike, say, Onua, Ketar's gear function stays active - so I treat Ketar's claws like an extra pair of arms.
Lastly, for those still not convinced by Ketar's rough scorpion-y charms, he can be posed like some sort of insectoid centaur if you prefer.
That's all for now, folks. Hope you enjoyed.
>Pohatu's chest print is digital camo
How did I not notice this until now?!
Fuck his flaws, I've gotta have that set.
So am I the only one who thinks Lego should rethink their release schedule?
I mean, the leaks for summer are out, and even if those end up being fakes, there's some toy fairs coming right up where we see the prototypes for the first time.
Meanwhile, the winter sets aren't even out in some part of the world, and won't be for a some time. I know they want to build the hype, and I understand what they are doing, but wouldn't it work better if people are already familiar with the "old" stuff? With this, people are already excited for beasts, when they haven't even seen Uniters in flesh.
So...loose speculation time.
The "scorpion warriors" at the Stone Suva are depictions of ancient uniters
Could someone upload this APK for me, I cba to deal with all of these restrictions google puts on stupid app games
>try to MOC up something neat
>clicking and unclicking parts together to see what might make a good color scheme
>a couple hours go by
>got nothing to show for it
Goddamn I hate/love MOCing. I love it when the shit works out and I've come up with something presentable, but when I'm stuck it's pretty disheartening.
I wish I had something to MOC with. I don't want to break my gen 2 sets for parts just yet (probably never), and all my gen 1 sets and parts are just stashed away in the storage where there's no real easy way to get those.
I did just make a BL wanted list on stuff I may need if I ever decide to MOC my old OC Donut character with current parts, skills and such.
The Uniters just suffer from a few design issues, what is odd is that seem more tied to conscious choices rather than budget limitations. Look at Pohatu's colors for example.
The Beasts, however, seem hugely limited by their budget. Oddly Umarak is the one that suffers from bad design choices (colors, legs, head), despite some good ideas still being there.
The worst thing in UTD is that fucking hulk chest. I thought it was trashed after Onua.
>ordered the Kaukau disc from BL in early December
>still not here
I suppose it had to happen eventually. After all these years, it's a wonder I haven't lost anything I ordered earlier. But why did it have to be this one? Kaukau-disc is by far the rarest of the bunch, the only one I miss for the full collection, and only one of the two parts I need to have full Mctoran collection.
I've got all my g2 wave 1 sets disassembled. I don't want to take apart a couple of the MOCs I made last year. 2016 Tahu + Ikir and UtH + Uxar are the only ones I'll probably never take apart though.
My main goal now is to make MOCs with fluorescent parts, so it looks cool under a black light.
New character and main antagonist of 2016, website says he is an ancient being born from the shadows who's sole purpose is to hunt down the six creatures that embody Okotos six elements, but that's all we know about him so far.
>Bricklink has some of the 2016 parts up already
>they are AGAIN scattered around different categories and searching for them is a bitch
How fucking hard would it be to just merge the Bionicle, Hero Factory and Large Figure Part-categories and make a new one for CCBS only? Gen 1 Bonkle, HF weapons and everything else on LFP can just stay where they are. I just one to see all bones and shells under one category.
Skorpio General wanted to go outside for a photoshoot.
It's too cold.
I used to think that Glatorian necks were CCBS because that was the first time that I had seen them. I skipped 2009 and didn't buy any new sets until HF Breakout. I got a few things from friends who knew I was into Bionicle during that gap, but not a lot.
Is there some kind of a troll stalking my flickr account now? What the fuck
