We have two scale model threads, but they're both for plastic. What about wood models?
Anyone have Cobaanii stuff? Tempted to turn one of my Detolf shelves into a Japanese style house/apartment using some of their kits. Do they actually hold up, or are they pretty much particle board/balsa wood plane tier? I'm having trouble finding their Shouji for non-rape prices, though.

I don't know anything about wood models, but that sounds like a really cool thing to do. I've seen tutorials for making your own tiny dollhouse furniture, you could try that?
I love playing with my morning wood
It's so brown and thick and stiff
It's so short but strong

I don't have many tools for working with wood so small from scratch, unfortunately. Cobaanii seems to make just about everything I want and Azone makes a nice futon. I'd have to look elsewhere for anything more modern than Shouwa era style furniture/electronics, though an old fashioned Shouwa era house certainly would be nice on the one hand.
Actually, after pricing everything, 8 square feet of plywood and 18 square feet of shojigami came out to be twenty bucks, or the cost of two of Cobaanii's shouji kits. This way, I can make as many as I need if I don't fuck up too badly. Any tips for working with such small pieces of wood? Would a table saw work well, or should I hand saw everything?
