For the the Eyecons, you don't get the foil stickers as the DX versions, switching the icons with the button is a bit tougher, and the icons don't transition as smoothly as the DX versions.
This all came today.
Tomorrow I get the Door gun, Handle sword, and Shift Car holder with Funky Spike.
Only missing Road Winter, Formula, and Tridoron.
Does anyone know where these hands come from? From a Figuarts or (most likely) Ultra-act
I thought they would be Kyrieloid's, but both of his hands aren't black.
The last of my Drive stuff came today. I really like the Door Gun. Handle sword is just ok.
So is every bike pictured there now available as an SHF?
>was collecting Rider SHFs for awhile
>Showa line, awesome
>they made them and hadn't released a bike in a long time
>decided I wasn't interested if no bikes
>drop off /toy/ for a year or two
>return and find there's bikes bikes BIKES even Jungler and shit
This is a hobby you really have to keep up with
Yep, each of the legendary seven now have their bike. The bikes were released both individually and in a pack with both bike and rider, though the 2-pack bikes sometimes had less paint details than the individual release.
>less paint details
Not exactly. The blue or lack thereof on the New Cyclone are both accurate to the show. As is the different tails on Stronger's bike. It just broke during filming, and they just changed it by the next episode and hoped no one would say anything.
Where's the cheapest place to pick up a renewal release Kabuto? I want to spend ~$50 or less if possible, can't justify the $80 on amazon and the listings on ebay seem sketchy at best.
>Where's the cheapest place to pick up a renewal release Kabuto?
The past, when they first retailed. Alternatively, you could try to nab one on preorder before the april release. Preorders for reasonable prices are sold out everywhere, but its likely they will be relisted again before release date.
Keep checking amiami, HLJ, and Hobbysearch.
That's really all the hope you have desu senpai. You came asking this pretty late.
My only currently apparent problem with it is the scarf bits are a bit annoying to change but otherwise pretty great
What do you guys think about the likelihood of a Blade SHFSS? I love Blade's design, but the current SHF looks just a bit off.
Although it didn't even come out that long ago, it already seems outclassed by SHFSS Kuuga and the like.
Those are from the Ultra-Act evil Darclops clone of Ultraman Zero. Sometimes he has normal hands, sometimes he has claw hands (depending of the version of Darclops).
...you got a Darclops Zero?
Oh, thanks man.
It isn't my photo, it was just in a listing with something I was interested in (that said, Renewal Darclops Zero when, Bandai?)
It's a shame we can't find out how well it sold. On a positive note, they are just repaints (not costly for Bandai to produce), and Zero is one of the most popular characters...
I'd do anything for a 2.0 Belial, though. I remember Derringer confirming with me years ago that it was the best selling Ultra-act among Western audiences, apparently. Considering the aftermarket for the old Belial/Kaiser Belial, seems like there's some interest for him still.
Those are old announcements though, everything points to a new direction.
And that's assuming the line will continue past the Ultra Brothers, and is fully replacing the Ultra-act line, which hasn't been confirmed.
It's not like the two lines can't co-exist, anyway. Bandai can still be pushing out Ultra-act retools/repaints once in a while like they've been doing for the longest time now.
I'm not in any rush to get a Belial 2.0, as I'm quite happy with the original. But I wouldn't say no to it, either.
>There's no reason for anyone to buy out of scale (implying it's supposed to be 1/12 human-sized to begin with), less defined figures just for the hell of it
Except those who have been buying Ultra-acts or prefer them to begin with. Or those who want characters that aren't the main 6.
It's not like Bandai has much left of the Ultra-act line anyway. Just some form changes (if they'll ever bother with some of those), and very few characters.
I need to do some new pics, since I've updated Shadow Moon's Harem and built up Belial's Galactic Empire a bit lately.
I really like how this pic came out. Been saving it to show off, actually.
They're from a crappy comic in the late 90s called Webwitch. I found them cheap a year ago. Basically, a fake anime Species rip-off.
Maybe I wasn't clear. When I meant out of scale less defined I was referring to the figuarts. There is no reason to buy into the figures line for the hell of it and yet they're pushing the line. The reasonable expectation is that they plan to kill the existing one and put everything under the rapidly expanding Figuarts brand.
Yeah, I participated in the kickstarter for it. It's... not been a great comic. We're on issue 3 out of 5 and we've had no monstergirls. I'm still picking it all up, though.
>The reasonable expectation is that they plan to kill the existing one and put everything under the rapidly expanding Figuarts brand.
This would be fine if they weren't changing the scale. While the Figuarts Ultras are ugly, it's not their designs that are the issue. The sad thing is that if this new line bombs then Bandai probably won't go back to Ultra-Acts anyways since they've become so niche.
More like Bandai wants to rehash the Ultra Brothers (because they sell like hot cakes, and they're all cheap to make), especially for the 50th anniversary. It's surely hard for Bandai to sell Ultra-act Ace nowadays when he's been released a total of four times at this point, you know.
Hell, it's not like they're spending a lot to develop Ultra-acts either given that they're all just retools. The only main releases they need to make is just X and Victory at this point, and maybe some recolours and minor forms here and there if they want.
The reality is that the Ultra series just isn't anywhere near as popular as it used to be. The Ultra Brothers and maybe Tiga will always have a market, but everyone else is super niche regardless of how many people seem to be calling for an Ultra-Act/Figuarts of Victory.
Does anyone here have any of the Ryuki figuarts? Do any of you fuckers have GENOCIDER? I didn't even know the fucker existed til today.
>Plz post pics of ryuki and gaim riders fighting plox
I'm assuming the Showa Rider/bike sets don't include all the accessories from the Rider's individual release, like hands?
Thanks a lot. Looked on Shishioh but couldn't find what I was looking for.
Is there anything for one of the coolest designs in Kamen Rider? SHF or SIC is fine
according to what i found there was one on display in 2010 but it never got released (yet)
Garo Lost Shine comes out soon, right? I know it's an exclusive and I missed the boat, but I'm hoping it won't have assrape prices after everything dies down. Part of me wants them to do Sho somewhere down the line, too, but considering Garo's history with Figuarts and merchandise in general, I'm not holding my breath.
At the very least, maybe Leon's Garo will be easy to get since apparently the anime wasn't too popular.
If you have the chance definitely get the re-issue that came with the Jungler. The original release's Dai-setsu-dan effect part was an ugly milky-white color, which the re-issue recolored as red/orange. It looks a hell of a lot better, and the Jungler itself is just fucking great.
It's such an immense tease, it's the most beautiful rider from the show with the most interesting gimmick, but chances are we'll never get this released before we get Kiva himself, if at all.
I just... really want Saga...
I'd love to see how N-Y fucked up my address this time (last two digits of zip code sloppily written one time, apt missing another). I recently moved 15 minutes away but had one package left in transit with the old address and figuring it'd just be dropped off at the PO I didn't worry too much, but kept an eye on the tracking status.
On the 11th, six hours after it was out for delivery, the status changed to "undeliverable as addressed". I quickly put a redeliver request in, selecting that I'd pick it up at the local PO. However I also went down to them (12min away) before they closed figuring it would have been brought back by then. A half hour of waiting around while they checked yielded me "must still on the truck, come back tomorrow ". I wasn't able to get off from work until 7:30pm, and they close at 7.
So this evening at 5:30, I waited around for 40 min... And they still are unable to locate it. After all that time, I was told if I waited another 30min, they'd speak to the driver. I had things I had to do, so they took down my info and cell number, saying they're going to speak with their supervisor.
I'm really not sure what to do at this point.
It is their rule to pay up front regardless of whether that limit has been reached or not, though.
I doubt Bikel would have reached that limit anywhere near soon enough to warrant to have "Pay Now" right from.the very start, if Fire is anything to go by. It's Metal Hero, too. As much as I'd like for the SHF to do well, MH is not huge a deal to the Japanese public anymore. Hence why even their mascot rep of Metal Hero was an exclusive.
Rough try for an SIC checklist, let me know what needs fixing.
Am I an idiot? I really want it.
The only way I'd spend even close to that amount is if it was 1:1 with the show's actual puppet.
>Am I an idiot?
>For wanting the best Sentai mascot character in years
No, you're not an idiot. Ticket is great.
The one that bothered me about this release was that it was all soft despite being an exclusive. You think it would at least have a hard head.
At least they seemed to have learned their lesson with DX Yurusen.
So how come Japan won't make figures of like, the monsters they fight? I want a figure of Lami.
Added some better pictures and missing entries, moved stuff around.
SIC stuff like Kiwami Damashii and Garo's line could probably go on here too if no one thinks it's too cluttered.
I have never watched this series, but now have the time to get into it. I'd really like to watch the series from the beginning and watch from then to the most recent series. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a torrent? I'd prefer not streaming it.
The thing you need to understand is both Rider and Sentai do not have complete subs of the original series, it's basically half of it at most. Sentai has no story tie ins outside of Denjiman and Sun Vulcan(Where it just has some characters in two episodes), the crossovers, and Gokaiger(Where it spoils a couple storylines but is completely watchable even so).
Rider's crossovers are basically V3(Which includes 1 and 2), I think Skyrider, Stronger I know for sure, and ZX. Then everything Decade onwards are tied together, though there are crossover movies tied prior. However, you can watch all of it without having seen the others, they're meant to be for kids who haven't seen the older series and are almost always self contained or they explain things anyway. Only real exception is the Megamax movie since it ties three Rider series together and is an epilogue to OOO.
Can't speak for Ultraman or Garo since I haven't gotten around to watching them yet. There's generals for every series on /m/, so they'll give you a more in-depth discussion and will answer your questions.
The only thing to understand is avoid TV-Nihon unless there is no other alternative due to their subtitles usually being badly translated, insistence on honorifics, and animations to "spruce up the subs".
Is there anything I can do about this? I don't know how the engineering works with the new thighs. As much as I'm loving the Drive and Gaim Figuart lines, almost all of them have loose legs now and it's bothering me quite a bit.
I was wondering, what toys do people use to make custom sentai figures like these? Do they us those sofubi figures for the heads? I know they come in differant sizes, so I want to make sure i get the right toys for customising, before i order stuff that isn't suitable.
Sofubi figs from the earlier sentai till around the mid 2000s and swing key chains.
I bought all of the Toqger and Ninninger chains incase I liked the shows and all of sofubi Timeranger, and Kakuranger( but the elusive Ninja Black). The Sentai apocalypse is real.
You should look in to the megaforce 5" figures for weapons.
V3 just doesn't hold up with Fire and Gavan nearby
That Drive and Fire in the car would be fun though.
For anyone too lazy to click that thread, this is the car one
Yeah, as new ones get better the flaws in the older ones stand out way faster than they end up remaking figures. A decade from now people will probably be saying the early SHFSS desperately need a renewal.
>A decade from now people will probably be saying the early SHFSS desperately need a renewal.
I dunno, I mean there is a point where you can't really improve figure technology.
Not saying that it's impossible, but it's hard to think about how it can be improved, you know?
I definitely agree. On a figure like Kuuga they really nailed the detail and paint, articulation you can't ask for much better, and the proportions are exact. But they'll keep improving somehow.
I have a couple of these things, specifically Deneb and Uva (and Sky High but this is a toku thread so he doesn't count). I like them, but I can never figure out what to do with them. They're just pinned to my cork-board at the moment.
I remember seeing some customs of the other Kyoryugers but I don't think they used those heads. There are a lot of people on twitter who will use paints and putties, though I mostly see Riders.
2016 likely has Decade, Diend, Kabuto and Gattack + bikes, and orders for Kuuga/Daguva. If they decide to branch out before main riders and do more forms like complete/hyper, a decade until Kiva wouldn't be weird.
I'm reading some stuff on Google and it looks like the pin joint they use now is harder to fix than the older ball joints. Find a good guide for disassembly and reassembly of a pin joint if it's an issue, there is no quick fix.
naw man, this is the guy who was voiced by cranston, Dora Ladon/Snizzard
Seriously, use stands. You'll only ruin the feet of your figures with tape glue and blue tack, and it'll look completely aweful and ruin the point in displaying them.
Pic related are obitsu stands, they're relatively small and could fit in cases like yours, and you can use the straight up and down pole to avoid its elbow from taking up extra space.
>Turns out my friend bought me a Rider 2/New Cyclone pack
>She sent it to my old place on accident
>Tell the new tenants I'll be over to get it tonight and they say they'll be there
>Drive all the way across town to go get it
>Lights are on, someone's inside watching TV upstairs
>Stay for twenty goddamn minutes ringing the bell and trying to get a hold of them on my phone
>Can literally see the package through the front door window
>Turns out they left for the night and told their kids not to answer the door under any circumstances
I sure am glad I wasted my gas and still haven't gotten my goddamn package.
I mean, finding them isn't an issue. I just wasn't sure wording them as "risers" would convey exactly what I wanted.
Regardless, what I'm really asking is which ones are the best? I'm just trying not to end up with some cheap garbage by choosing a random kind. I'm also curious as to what size would be best for displaying lots of Figuarts, hoping that maybe someone who has the sort of display I'm looking to have can give me some advice.
>never going to be a J Ultra-act
Why did you put this thought in my head...
I found this review and gallery of the one released: http://www.shesfantastic.com/2013/05/big-bad-beetleborgs-jara.html
Sounds? I dunno. I like sounds in my DX toys, but I feel like they'd be kinda silly in Figuarts.
Lights would be cool for some figures, though. And I think even better joints that don't wear out and are less conspicuous. Basically RAHs on a smaller scale without degrading materials.
That is because they are all 1.0 or kaijushit. Most of the recent releases last year just pop up all of a sudden.
Also, last TN a lot of shit was missing in general. No Garo stuff, no MH outside of the Winspector stuff, no SHMA, etc.
They didn't even make Rita until 20 years later and she's the main power rangers villain. At the time the idea must have been that a girl toy wouldn't have gotten nearly the relative sales worth making it.
The only other thing I can find is a site that says both of them were previewed at some toy fair when the show was airing but Rita was possibly never made due to safety regulations about sharp points/small parts.
Did anyone ever come up with a solution to the fading blue paint on Knight Survive? I've noticed some fading starting on the pauldrons and a hand guard. Am I doomed to watch one of my favorite kamen riders fade into white knighthood?
Let it happen, it was a shitty color choice for Survive
>Tfw ordered a bunch of Ghost Change stuff for an online store
>Deliberately undercutting the scalpers and giving proper prices
>Still sell barely any of them
>Some haven't sold at all
>Sitting on a mountain of changing ghosts everywhere
Well, guess my idea of doing customs with unsold spares will come to fruition. I'm already planning to make a Ned Kelly and Joseph Merrick (The Elephant Man) coat, anyone else have any other ideas they'd like to see made? Right now i think i could probably make at least eight customs.
There are some nice designs out there as fan art.
Because for a full Sentai team you'd need to spend around $200+, which is too much and honestly they ended the line too soon. Cause they could've banked off the series that were adapted into Power Rangers series.
I'm figuring on buying a Megazord for nostalgic reasons, which set of zords would you guys recommend? I remember the Wild Force ones being good.
I've watched up to Jungle Fury for PR for reference.
How long after the Ghost driver came out did the DX ghost eyecon get a seperate release?
And because it did, what are the odds of the Spectre and Necrom eyecons getting a seperate DX release?
By the sound of his post, he probably did not mean to quote. He might have just clicked your post number to get the reply box but forgot to get rid of the quote, which I myself have been guilty of.
I can provide my possibly helpful opinion on your post. I owned the US version of Gingaioh from PR Lost Galaxy. I thought he was incredibly boring in play and design. They looked better in their more organic forms and I wish they stuck with that. These days, I just consider Gingaioh as a lesser Gaoking.
I'd go for Daibouken, provided it actually is DX Daibouken and not whatever hunk of junk plastic they released for PR.
I was eyeing DX Gingaioh because I'm a sucker for chogokin and since the PR version took out A LOT of the diecast, its inferior to the DX one, which supposedly weights 3 pounds.
I am going to take up your recommendation for consideration, anon. Thank you. I'm just worried about the cost of DX daibouken, since the sperg in me really wants all of the go go machines (drill, crane, mixer, shovel and jet).
Coinciding Blu-ray box set releases?
Man I want that Gatack they showed off so bad.
some of it got worse, it's still one of my favorite scenes regardless.
Also RIP Soap opera camera toku
I've spent over $400 on Figuarts Rider shit today and I still want more
>$400 on Figuarts Rider shit today
That is a lot in one day, but I can tell you with absolute certainty, that after you have spent several thousand dollars on Figuarts you start running out of figures you want.
Riderman/Riderman Machine pack
Cyclone, the old style one with the blue pipes
Kamen Rider 3
does Kabutolaw only come packed with Stronger or is there a single release
Kabutolaw has a separate release as well, though the stand alone bike doesn't have this rear horn that the bundled one has.
At least in that scene, the Gattack suit was actually filmed and digitized in. Now 'days just about any Rider interacting with a shitty mess of CGI is ALSO a shitty mess of CGI themselves.
>collection of Showa riders is almost complete
>but I only have Shadowmoon, Apollo Geist and a Shocker grunt to fight
>tfw Japan hates villain figures
>tfw the best showa villains of all time will never get figures.
Its endless pain.
Join the club. I've been marathoning Heisei stuff and saved ryuki for last because of obvious reasons.
Just finished ryuki and guess what I'm lusting after...
>You'll actually run out of shit to buy eventually. Don't worry there is hope for you still friend anon.
It's like a really pale blue-ish silver. The color (or something close) doesn't appear anywhere on Mashin Chaser except on the skull emblem on his shoulder, making its use as his Rider form's main color really weird.
They probably went with white and light shades to make it a bigger contrast with the Mashin Chaser suit and emphasize that he's properly joined the heroes again.
My only issue is that they removed the cool mechanical/car crash look of the Mashin Chaser suit.
>just started to get into kamen rider
>already want figures of the showa riders
The Showa designs are very nice. People occasionally talk about "what if" regarding Showa figures getting the SHFSS treatment but I wouldn't say you should worry about that.
If they end up modernizing suits other than Ichigo though? There could be another set of Showa figures over the next few years.
The showa just have a classic and over the top designs that I love, the classic action hero look of them is great. I don't really like the look of that v1 costume though, looks too high tech and modern for him.I
Fuck anon, those look nice. Are those actually good figures or should I just wait and get the SHF?
Yeah, instead of The First/Next they went in the 3/4 direction.
I mean, aside from red and Gai who actually cares about the other three? I think it was the first sentai I didn't give a fuck about the rest of the team. I would kill for a Grey or a Radiguet.
I liked White Swan's design and Blue Swallow kicked ass. Also Yellow Owl and his ability to find rocks anywhere was great.
That said, Grey would be fucking awesome, has to have his cigarette and shot glass.
There's something about 4 that looks so fucking cool. He looks so natural standing next to the next riders.
>woulda been interesting to see a rider made with the same material/mindset of the showa era still
Speed and Wild being standard while Technic was exclusive made sense.
But DH Drive being standard while DH Mach was exclusive? Exclusive Chase? SDH Drive instead of Dark or Next?
I feel like they wasted the tire exchange gimmick by not doing more with it but I can't blame them for taking the chance on the less popular tires.
>Implying that Kivala isn't both beloved and tight assed.
I actually do like all 5 of them but what I was saying is, I like Grey vs Gai so much that I want figures of those 2 more, especially considering how rare it is for Bandai to really make all 5 team members.
Jetman's actually my fav sentai series other than Zyuranger, Maskman and Dairanger.
We went over this. Every time you ask about Kiva, Bandai delays it. It's like the Half-Life 3 to Bandai's Valve.
Real talk, Kiva-la is technically a Decade Rider, not a Kiva Rider, so Decade and Diend (maybe) being Renewed soon might have something to do with it.
How do Gaia Memories work? I just got my first two, Memory and T2 Joker, I know those are both odd ones compared to the others.
Front button says name, right button in the USB slot is for the driver, left button is for the maximum drive. The non-rider ones also have the insertion button on the tip of the USB part. Anything I am missing?
Oh no, we're discussing toku in the toku thread! Man alive!
Hell yeah! Thanks anon, that looks like all of them
I generally go through NY, looking at some upcoming exclusives and their price is only ~500 yen above the premium bandai price. Shipping gets a bit high but overall it's a good deal.
>Shipping gets a bit high but overall it's a good deal.
Out of morbid curiosity I checked to see how much Bikel and Lord Baron would cost me. N-Y was ready to charge me 2800 for EMS (ok, whatever), and 3850 for RSAL
Yeah. I ordered Marika and Duke through them at decent discounts but had to pad the order out just to justify the shipping costs. Some people have said NY's rates can be reasonable but I've yet to see it.
No. It is a cool, relatively simple motif bike which its aesthetic runs smoothly throughout.
A BLAND bike is something like Kiva's bike or Fourze's bike. Considering their respective motives, it is a crime what we ended up getting. How can you make a bat/vampire bike and space rocket bike so lazy and boring? Bandai pls.
A dead horse for a ghost bike works wonders.
Renewal Agito is killin it, I wasn't expecting quality like this and I'm thrilled to get a Kabuto for sub-msrp (even though rerelease is right around the corner)
Meanwhile Renewal Decade is about to come out, so ready for that shit
Yesterday I got a package from Japan, and two of the things I got were Foodroids from Fourze.
My mom saw them, said they were cute and asked if I could order some for her. She runs a food stand in the Summer and she wants to use them to decorate the place.
I just thought it was cooler and definitely better than what happened to that guy in that Fourze copypasta.
holy shit 72,000 jpy, what the actual fuck, any place other than Yasan to get exclusives?
Is that the MSRP?
