Have any questions? Check out the guide:
>Day after the New Years party. Make a diorama of your characters hungover as shit and shocked at the things they did the night before.
>Take a new 2016 set and build something ONLY using pieces from it.
>Benis (Best Entry: Ninjas in Swimwear)
>Freedom is great. Build a diorama of a villain escaping prison or guarded transport with/without the help of henchmen.
>A bar for your minifigs to drink at for the New Years party.
>Finish that unfinished MOC from 2015!
I'm not familiar with that one but it does look an awful lot like what I'm making.
I kidnapped one of my Imperial officers to lead a Stormtrooper squad. Now I can't even remember what set he came in.
How many powers are currently on the Lego website? There's this one just lying in the open, but are there any that are better-hidden?
Woo new thread
Was watching Top Gear earlier and decided to build a Velociraptor style truck. Steering, independent rear suspension, and seating for 4. I've been vrooming it around all night and man is it fun!
I was inspired by this guy from my trip to Hollywood Studios at Disney World.
He was yelling stuff like "Death to the Rebellion!" when he'd pose for pictures with people. His uniform was pretty legit looking.
Not a clue - Never been to Disneyland, and this was back in May when I was at Disney World I think. Pretty sure it was May. Maybe October, but I think May. I'm a Florida native so we go often.
Aside from the sets, every episode of Nexo Knights has a new shield to scan.
There's four in the "How to Scan Nexo Powers" video in the app, but only 1 is clear enough to scan.
There's one in the Lego Club Magazine
The Toys R Us display in my area has a shield to scan. I'm going to another store to see if they're all the same.
The Lego Store will have a promotion soon where they'll give you a shield to scan if you build something and put it on display.
Nexo Knights books will have shields too.
I hope they do. This intro pack is in serious need of a shield.
You can scan the logo too, by the way.
The poster in the intro pack has 5 shields.
The TRU one is in the OP, it's Anvil of Trouble. I'll see what I can do. I don't think I can give out QR codes, because they expire. I still have to find out if they expire as soon as I close the app or if it's timed, because I just wasted a fuckload of time taking screenshots of QR codes for /toy/, only to fail.
Pic related, which I forgot, AGAIN.
>share codes expire
Wait, so does that mean the in-app codes are different from the ones you use to scan them into the game in the first place?
Post what you're working on
Rebuilding the DACUNT set as a mechsuit for Bigfoot for the Rebuild challenge. Currently reworking the arms for symmetry and actual wrists.
Working on buildings and troops to do an urban battle. Gotta figure out what Rebellion troops I want to use, and thus want to buy, because I apparently don't have much in the way of generic rebels.
I'm also trying to figure out a good build for a Light Repeating Blaster, of which my current attempt can be seen in the hands of the front-most Stormtrooper there. I also upped the number of troopers in that squad to the full 8 + Sergent, while the guards are simply my Inquisitor's accompaniment. Might switch those over to shadow troopers once things get going, though, if I need more Stormtroopers to fill things out.
I'm going to be picking up one of the grey 15"x15" baseplates to set the battle on.
The building on the left in this image is just intended to be a facade and possibly to provide a roof with cover. Not really sold on the arches though, I might figure out something else to do up there.
they're very similar, they changed them in like 2004 for whatever fucking reason. A few of them mixed together in the light, you'll be able to see the different shades. But I don't really give a fuck, they look close enough.
When it comes to the Stone colors and the Bluish Grey ones, you don't have to worry. Medium Stone Grey is the same as Light Bluish-Grey, and Dark Stone is the same as Dark Bley.
The difference in name is because Bricklink uses a different color name scheme than the official Lego database.
Just ordered some Rebel Troops to battle my Stormtroopers.
Their beady little eyes will burn holes through that Stormtrooper armor.
The Nexo Knights show is pretty good. The characters are all likable and there are lots of waifus to be had. Even the kids, Ava and Robin were good characters, and maybe some of my favorites. Not annoying like you'd expect.
I really like that blue and blue color palette the king and queen have. Did they do that accurately on the minifigs?
Son of a... I just found out '[The] Holocron Heist' was the title of an episode of The Clone Wars. I was setting up some minifigs and came up with the title and googled it just to check because I figured it was too awesome to be unused.
As far as i saw, the show is slightly bland, but didnt saw a full episode, just web and some scenes of the first episode.
For a children show not bad and overall its for all ages, but i would say aimed for the younger ones? If asked i would guess 5-8 year olds maybe?
netherless, thx anon.
i get the feeling nexo evolves into /v/ material ^^
It would be interesting if these powers or knights would sync with Lego Dimension.
I played the first 2 missions and have to say its an easy game, but for free and work involved not bad.
Didnt tried the ones from these threads, but the booklet.
Only one worked, the others, like from the ultimate pics were too dark or perspectivly unusable.
The cam function is impressive.
Making a Manhattan Apartment... I'm on mobile so sorry for the shitty pic :^)
Should lego make a blind bag series of Sheldon from the classic Big Bang Theory show, but just him in different tshirts?
I'm doing a bar/coffee shop interior. Got as far as two decorative walls with shelves and stuff.
>even Lego city is plagued by selfie culture
[WAKE ME UP]
ORANGE TRANSPARENT CLAYMORE
(did the set designers do this on purpose?)
I made a thing for you guys!
I have a few more that I haven't had time to take usable pictures of, yet and I'm out of time for this morning, so maybe tonight I'll update this and repost it.
Interestingly, in the game there are 5 colors of powers but IRL there's a 6th color. The orange one down at the bottom scans in as a "red" power.
I hope we get some peasants and general places from the kingdom, though I doubt it. Maybe some kind of "lava monsters marketplace attack" set would work.
Something like this maybe, but it needs a wall and I haven’t left space. So I'll probably just make a counter extending from the trans blue display.
>Nexo Knights contains a reference to Sir Robin from Holy Grail; he even has his chicken coat of arms
>However, even though the heroes are named after weapons there is no 'Dirk'
maybe if they do a dragon lair set in the future
What's the easiest way to recreate this TARS
Where do I buy the pieces etc
Looks like 29 pieces in total right?
I like that all of the hair is stylized in the Nexo Knights show. Stark difference from Ninjago, where the hair hews closer to the actual pieces.
When I saw the new Flash Speeder in stores, my first thought after "FINALLY" was, "Huh, they did a good job with this. Kinda spendy, though"
It's too bad Lego's standards for normal sets (non-Microfighters, non-battlepacks) are so high that we'll never see one for less than $20 ever again.
For me Ninjago was for younger kids than chima, or at least same range like Chima. Chima had more politics and drama, while Ninjago is more of coming of age.
If asked i would say Chima targets older, 6-10.
But Ninjago 7-14 could be right.
But its Lego, who knows.
these are the ones from 2 threads ago.
I collected all shields that came up here, yours wil make it easier to complile.
so red = orange?
didnt notice, but i noticed, you can power upgrade your power through a second scan of one shield.
>Not sure what else they could make, though. The Batboat?
>Commissioner Gordon's office with red phone piece and Batgirl
>Museum heist with Joker and goons
>Beach scene with Riddler and prop plane
>Ocean scene with sharks and Bat-Shark Repellant printed cylinder (not sure if the Batman movie is fair game as far as licensing; someone else might hold the rights to the movie itself)
And his shield gives you egg-carpet-bombs in the game as an attack.
You cant have enough dragons, especially digital/mecha dragons
Im in for metal, lava or full robot dragons.
lets be realistic, most themedont last that long.
But knights without dragon? that would be uncommon, since we got macy as princess.
Somebody less inebriated than I can walk you through the process of building a wanted list and the ins and outs of store finding.
>dat easy-as-pie build
I'm seriously fucking tempted to unpack the drawers I just taped up to build a ton of those little critters.
>these are the ones from 2 threads ago
Yeah, that was me. I finally had time to sit at my PC and clean them up... More will be coming as I have the time to do it.
>but i noticed, you can power upgrade your power through a second scan of one shield.
Each power can be scanned a total of 6 times. The first scan puts it in the game at level zero. Each subsequent scan levels it up to a max of 5
Well, the casing is built from this, so you could use another SNOT technique to redesign it as a 2x4 base instead of a 3x4 base.
I just did some calculation on the Nexo Knight shields. With the current data standard they're using, it's possible for them to generate 2^32 different shield IDs. That's 4294967296 of them.
Awesome anime about Jiron Amos, a guy adventuring around with gasoline powered robots on a lawless Wild-West style world. Opening theme alone is pretty baller and describes the entire tone of the show. Also, hilarious.
Have you seen chima? Noone liked it because the plot was too basic and it all felt like wasted potential. The first episodes were horrible.
Its funny because I find final episodes very good, but sadly- also rushed.
yes, i saw all of them.
And i saw nearly all Ninjago.
Just webepisodes and some previews of Nexus.
And i liked the chima story, it wasnt realy basic, it kinda reminded me of Babylon5 or kinda Games of thrones.
But for me as an adult the jokes, but nearly as all lego series jokes, were a little bit cringy
or very basic, like looneytoons or laurel and hardy. But its for a younger audience so, im just arguing on a high level, i guess.
My nephew liked the whole story, more than Ninjago, he was about 6 years it started.
So i guess its alright for the producers.
And what i disliked was that enemies were rather good or bad, than next friends against a new enemy (twice).
End was too Happy end to close the series. Felt kinda rushed. But i felt it with the end of the secondseason too.
But its all personal opinions and likes. I guess
And i dont say Ninjago or Nexo are bad or Chima was better, i think its more about different setting.
Ninjago = coming of age/mastering skills/ancestory
Chima = friendship (love), forgiving, together against a common enemy
Nexo (just guessed) = Cavalry, protecting, all can be heroes.
here is my symbol of 2016. my friend and helper. hope you have Lego Monkey too.
I Bricklink the entire set. Was like 60 USD
>270 USD for this
What the fuck is Lego smoking? This looks 100 bucks tops.
Just got out of the Lego store, got a few more nexo knights sets and asked nicely and got a promo minifig for each set.
Also got pic related although it wasn't out anywhere. I had to ask for it.
Nexo knights looks amazing, but my wallet can't take it, with the new batman set reveal, and the movie, I simply can't afford the Nexo Knights without going over my "Personal spend limit".
I've failed you all.
>Pretty sure the implications are he ordered something but was shipped items from another person's order instead.
Yes, I understood that when he posted it, thank you. However, having received the wrong order, he is under no obligation to send it back, and the seller is still obligated to send him the correct order or refund his purchase.
Today was a bretty gud day.
Technic has always been pretty good at being huge.
Just built that Sub last night, good choice, always loved the sharks
It happened to me earlier this month, I had ordered a bunch of minifig parts and got three white 6 x 12 plates in the mail. Within a week me and the other guy were able to swap them out through the seller.
Would that be the 8053? I noticed I'm only missing some parts to build that, and the outriggers look interesting enough to make me want to try it.
>when your Technic parts collection is at the point where you just need the occasional BL order to build loads of old sets
>Get Lego Dimensions in today
>MFW I open it up and see the actual portal is its own Lego set
I mean I knew the packs were mini-builds of their own, but I always assumed the portal would be one big solid piece.
>Lego dimensions seems like just another shitty big box game
>the insides are actually set up like regular Lego sets in thick cardboard
Really wish I could just buy the disc separately. I want to get it also on Wii U without having to buy the set again.
Meh, the WiiU version doesn't have any advantages. Fewer detail objects and random bystanders in levels than the PS4 and Bone; the only thing the GamePad shows is the same thing as the TV screen.
I keep telling myself I'll buy the Arocs, then I end up spotting an older set for good price and I remember how the Mobile Crane Mk.II has been around for three years now.
Never can, never will
Who else here is into these Speed Champion sets? Had no legos for like 3 years and then i went into a Lego store, now im addicted to these 6 wide cars
Bought this Snowspeeder set numbered 4500, always wanted one to contain my inner man-child. The Snowspeeder is about as long as your hand, its extremely durable from what i felt about it.
Close-up of the Minifigures, very simple. Not much design.
Only con about this set, its hard to place Minifigures into their cockpit. You'd have to take off the windshields to get them into place. Otherwise 8/10, set is durable enough IF you want to play with them. Their also GREAT eye-candy if you like to use your Lego's as display. I might buy a second set just to keep in its box, old sets are vintage, also a classic. Get yours before they become overpriced.
It tickles me so that they recreated the hoth rebel trooper from the very original snowspeeder set. I always loved that guy. I used his face as my self-insert figure for all my star wars shenanigans as a kid.
figured out a decent 3d crossview method in bluerender for anyone interested
you just add one line to shift the camera before applying the camera transform. might be better with slight rotation but that would probably be a pain to figure out
translate 2 0 0
+2 is for the left eye, and then you do -2 for the right eye. or +/- whatever depending on the camera distance and how strong you want the effect, this one is +/- 10
>>Not getting the full sized sub
Those two are actually for my kids, and they wanted those two in particular.
They both really like the scuba guys and shark though, so the larger sub kit might be in the near future.
Merged two Futuron ships together that I didn't have all the parts for.
looks sick bro, also I got the helicarrier with the electric kit installed.
So got my first Mixel yesterday. He was randomly lost in the CCG section in Walmart. He needed a home. Turned him into a assembly line bot that can switch to drone mode.
I don't doubt it, there is a lot of women in tight latex looking space suits. Honestly it would be easy to make a crew for said ship.
Said ship that I'm seriously considering making.
Yeah, thanks to UltiLavababe, I have two.
It's just that Fries's picture makes the neck bracket itself look like some kind of chromed silver and trans-orange combination with trans-clear studs on back.
>That baby AT-AT is pretty fun.
Yeah, I like it.
>all those gray and white panels
I wasn't doubting the existence of the minifigure (I brought it up) merely that the dissemination of the minifigure in a polybag is questionably sourced.
It's been speculated that it's coming in a polybag and I was assuming anon was spreading that speculation as fact.
Perhaps he has insider knowledge but he's not proved his bonifides.
>Why am I suddenly tempted to scalp a bunch of these?
Because you're stupid and haven't done any research? Otherwise you'd know tons of scalpers have hoarded these sets after Brickshow started a run on them by pretending they were super-limited. The scalpers got burned and still have a ton on hand from when they glutted the market.
It's a pretty reasonably-priced set for the size and features, but not without its issues. The outriggers are slooow and you will most likely find loads of yellow dust in the superstructure if and when you dismantle it. The geartrain is one of the most convoluted things I have seen, but the set lends itself well to modding.
Now look upon ye mighty full RC version and despair.
I just need about £50 of Power Functions bits and a handful of beams before I can start on this monster.
I can't be the only one whose dick gets rock hard for amusement park sets.
>now Friends has an entire summer subtheme with a $120 Roller Coaster
>work on model
>want to take screenshot or modify it
>model refuses to load
this frustrates me to no end.
basically just little builds. The gimmick is they come in themed "tribes" that you can combine to make bigger mixels. They're pretty fun. The Klinkers are cool. Most people get them because they come with joint pieces, some good basic bricks, and are pretty inexpensive.
>grow out of Lego
>move house several times
>Legos go into storage (I think)
>get the itch after about 10 years
Think I can find them? Of fucking course not. I had so many Blacktron and M-Tron and Ice Planet sets it's not funny, and now they're lost forever.
>tfw I bought two of those last week for $20
They're not rare, the set feels like Lego trolling the scalpers. They made fucking tonnes of them, They're still in stock at a local book store, amazon, and ebay for almost nothing. It's a set that screams "Holy shit this is cool, and going to be valuable as fuck" But it's common and ridiculously easy to find. Maybe if you hold onto the set for 4-5 years you might have something.. but not any time soon.
LEGO pumps out so much stuff that's high quality I really don't ever feel the urge to spend my money on other brick-building toys, to be honest.
They seem fun, I guess, but I'd rather do LEGO.
Found these on clearance at Wal-mart, so I bought two of them.
>this idea is fucking retarded and you are bait
>actually, a variety of shirts would be kinda cool
>people bought gamer just for the fact he had those weird arms
ur still a nerd lul rekd
>Thought the Ghostbuster firehouse was rejected
>See that it is actually a released set
>Want to get so badly, but want to wait until I get my bonus next month
>Have the money to pay for it now
>Fiancee is just encouraging me to get it so we can build it together
Damn it, the store is near my home and it would be so easy to stop by and get it. I want it so bad and it won't cause me any financial difficulties, but this leads to a very expensive addiction. I already bought the Santa workshop and Dr. Who set this month....
If you can afford it, it won't cause you any actual problems, and your significant other wants in on it? You might as well just get the damn thing, anon. That set's probably not gonna stick around for long anyway.
The Ideas set was rejected. Likely because this was already in development.
And from the sound of it you have no reason not to get it other than a fear of addiction. If your purchases remain responsible and within what you can afford, there's no danger there. Just keep your head on straight when it comes to future purchases, and enjoy your new firehouse, my friend.
>people keep mentioning they have two because of lavaria
oh... i guess thats why they include extra parts right guys?
you know, incase one is too small and doesn't make it into the box...
I started coming up with some story ideas for my battle. Intercepted Imperial transmissions revealed that the old Jedi temple contained several important holocrons. The local rebellion forces sought to collect them, but had to flee when Imperial forces arrived. They managed to grab one, but more remain. The Rebel scouts are keeping an eye on the Imperial activity while awaiting reinforcements.
The Ufo dish should be bigger and flatter for multiple droids to stand there.
The whole model should have been bigger and use those quarter ufo bricks from the 2009 AAT, it looks like a Chibi Version right now.
Main Artillery cockpit is perfect though.
Got 350€ in Christmas money to spend ! Life is good !
I love you guys ! Have a happy new year !
yes they are nice
I grabed the battlepack with general crocoburg last week, as they were on clearance.
They are cool. I just wish they made these battlepacks since wave 1.
The shooter is nice, but another minifig would be nicer.
>tfw still have a bunch of Lego big sets I got on clearance last year
>tfw opened the ninja turtles movie trailer truck and didn't regret it last year
>tfw the joker steam roller was cool too
>tfw I know I'll never sell the rest bcuz lazy
>chima mammoth taunts me
Picked up pic related for Luke 20% off. What am I in for?
A great set with a somewhat annoyingly flimsy canopy for the middle bit. If you actually play about with your lego it's got loads of little features, the only issue I have is putting the roof on with more than 3 figures inside.
Guys, my bricklink order just got here. These ice cream pieces are awesome as smoke trails!
yeah, shilling time, there's nothing special in there, just spares and pieces so old i could be their grandpa.
lately legogeneral was moving very fast, were you showing off your presents to each other or something..?
I've sort of been helping that a little with my frequent pictures of the museum-turned-Jedi-Temple, and others have been chatting about Nexo Knights and their associated shields. Otherwise, business as usual.
I've been waiting for lego to make another imperial shuttle and they finally made it, but now I'm rather low on money and its going away soon.
Is this a set people would recommend or is it forgetable? This seems to be one of the rarest made ships that are actually quite recognizable, should I go for it?
i see the appeal, almost ready to buy this guy on the right
So I went ahead and made some change to the qipao girl I posted a few threads back. It's mostly some detailing, but I also went and changed the elbow joints to hinges.
Also went and changed the thighs to the design one of the other anons here uses.
I've also been thinking about making the front and back of the dress a little bit thinner at some point, but that'll be for some other point.
The 2009 AATs design was perfection, they should have just recolored that to tan so we could finally get the appropirate new UFO bricks in tan for proper AAT mocs.
The original was pretty shite, falls over all the time and the Ufo pieces should have a flat top so somebody can stand on it.
It's sad, but sometimes you just work with it. Or just build in Extended.
Anyways, here's what I was thinking about for the dress. Segments are the same length, just a stud thinner than what I have on her now.
>oh... i guess thats why they include extra parts right guys?
>you know, incase one is too small and doesn't make it into the box...
The reason why some sets include extra parts is because the factory machines check the boxes by weight. Some pieces are too light to register, so they pack more than what the set requires to make sure the sensor gets tripped.
>Take a new 2016 set and build something ONLY using pieces from it.
im still waiting for that 31040 desert racers.
so i did this instead.
also i'm impatient for the next regular CMF wave.
i eagerly await my waifu.... the skunkette,
Just got this awesome set in the mail today. I love it. Lego Creator Propeller Plane.
Nice cockpit detail too. It's no Blue Power Jet but it does fit minifigs!
Second row, far right.
is this actually printed?! neat, it's rarity nowadays.
>mfw the creator set dont have a build that fit minifig but the box tricks you it has one.
While sorting some recently bought lego bulk, and tossing the non-lego out in the crap box, I realized that is getting full -there's about 15 lbs of mega blok and other bootlegs..
Idk if I should donate to a thirft store or set a blaze.?
that new dress piece is insteresting, lego will surely make an use of it in future builds
didnt we already see lego babbies in the Lego Movie?
damn, the pig and farmer is neat too, i am glad they are making new animals that are from the Friends line, these are just too KAWAII to me.
It's always weird to see how millennials perceive the world, especially when it comes to cultural memes which predate the Internet.
Tried my hand at a Mini Poe's X-wing, and tried to get the wings better than the official one.
I'm happy with the result, though the wings aren't as sturdy as I'd like, I couldn't find a way around that while keeping the perfect fit.
>snl's landshark bit from a million years ago
I think it's weird how older folks assume anyone younger than them doesn't know what they're talking about.
It's clearly a full body blue shark suit. Not a guy in a SUIT-suit wearing a gray shark head.
Not trying to be a jerk... Just sayin' your age is showing.
>POST ABOUT LEGOS IN THE LG THREAD
I bought three more nexo knights sets, today. Only need 3 more and I'll have em all!
>It's clearly a full body blue shark suit.
Which existed before the wardrobe crew purchased two of to make the halftime show. I wasn't saying it was a direct model of the SLN shark; just that it's interesting how everyone who sees the image immediately thinks "Katy Perry left shark" instead of "generic shark costume that has existed for decades".
I've been going through my collection and I've realized that I have a TON of those actually-a-brick bricks (pic related).
I've never seen them used in any sort of advanced MOC.
Has anyone ever successfully built anything with these things, or are they just too basic for anything complicated?
Walls, foundations, structural pieces. I used 1 or 2 in black for pic related.
Almost everything at Legoland, pic related.
Try making something decently large, depending on how many you have.
>Is the queen skirt piece finally the same height as the minifig legs? I'm tired of having my females being taller than the males. It better have proper leg pins aswell.
Seems like it. I love how many new pieces TLG puts into regular use on account of being produced for licensed themes.
> opened a Bricklink store a few days ago
> buyer with 32 euro order, joined two days after I opened my shop, ordered a day later
> takes only random, very common utensils, some 2008 clone trooper accessories and a Robin
Is this a scam?
Currently working on Ferrari F40 set that I got as a Christmas gift. Also got White House, Brandenburg Gate and Space Needle.
Question: How do we know if a set is about to be discontinued? The Imperial Hotel and UN Headquarters were both on sale on the Lego site but are now sold out. I don't know if I should wait until when/if they are back in stock to get the VIP points or just get them at my local B&N. I don't want to miss out on them like the Robie House and Falling Water.
I quite like these little Flash Speeders or whatever in the Resistance troop pack. Debating making a full sized one that can fit four minifigures, but I'll have to make a few Bricklink orders to do that.
Years ago I built pic related, the base was primarily 2x4 bricks in white.
The gunship in that pic was the one I made ~6 years ago, which I took apart and revised into pic related 2 years ago.
Make them by yourself?
Dont know if some seller has them in a rather good quality pic or it floats around on the net? but
1. copy them
2. buy sticker print paper
4. Print, success
Somebody costumized their minis here?
Using up a slot with random blacklight-reactive Technic parts
>Sooner we use up these 19 image slots
i'ma do my part!
The catches w/ crossaxles are yellow, and those 4-snap things are red. There's a whole rainbow of stuff in that bin, but it's weird how only some red-orange-yellow spectrum stuff reacts.
It's got a little ship in the middle, to go for pizza while the saucer section's in the shop. Probably getting more guns put on.
Height comparison next to commander Cody. I'm pleased that lego actually put in effort to make her taller instead of just recolors and a badass cape.
Cape has a hole in it to put a peg into, so that it would stay in place, which is nice.
I mostly bought them for the generic lions.
I wish Crooler was in the crocodile set. She's my favorite and I didn't feel like shelling out for the ship.
This is all the good art of Crooler that isn't NSFW.
