>Day after the New Years party. Make a diorama of your characters hungover as shit and shocked at the things they did the night before.
>Take a new 2016 set and build something ONLY using pieces from it.
>Benis (Best Entry: Ninjas in Swimwear)
>Freedom is great. Build a diorama of a villain escaping prison or guarded transport with/without the help of henchmen.
>A bar for your minifigs to drink at for the New Years party.
>Finish that unfinished MOC from 2015!
You know what I got?
HAM ON THE BONE!
A little something I just can't leave alone~
Why Lego? Why new sets at my brokest time of the year?
I picked up this thing today. Having Crimson Skies flashbacks, send help
Shoulda bought lotto tickets. Instead, here I am, with quint-7's on /toy/
I feel ya, friendo.
Lego always makes sure to release the sets after the holidays, and after your wallet is dry as my humor.
I'm probably only going to pick up the little 30$ one. The "batwing" or whatever that garbage is in the bigger set looks like shit. And the little Lexcopter isn't much to look at. Figures will probably be bricklinked.
>the top of the skyscraper from the first teaser
>armor Batman with grappling gun piece
>Kryptonite crystals and gun
>two translucent antennae for Superman to blast out of his eyes
That's pretty good.
are there any decent ways to melt down and remold lego grade ABS?
Tbh this looks pretty neat.
Always need more red skull.
Not sure if anyone noticed, but I made someone to go with Reimu last thread.
Captain 'America vs. Red skull's doom buggy of MAXIMUM SWIVEL ACTION.
You're very welcome! Mine's very modified but the standard build can hold a minifig, and there's plenty of space to add guns/missiles/whatever.
Retractable landing gear was a nice surprise.
I like that set a lot. Surprisingly accurate to the source, and good fig selection.
The Marvel sets this wave are really good. Knowing that kids will want their Tony and Steve because of the new movie, the designers chose to only release one MCU Iron Man, and instead have Cap and the buckethead be in the comic/cartoon sets. And even then they chose to put out neat variants, such as the Space and Scuba armors.
cape sets have always been shit Tbh, literally the only reason they exist is for minifig autists, like star wars but without good subject matter to draw from. When they're not focussing on cape movies it just becomes a game of "what obscure character can we find a reason to pack in with batman or spiderman, fuck what the set looks like"
The old Spider-Man and Batman runs had a few neat sets, but the modern superhero stuff does have this really weird focus on vehicle/small setpiece combos rather than any interesting stuff.
>really weird focus
kids like vehicles above all else
it is stupidly expensive, even at the target price of $50 (I don't expect that to last long seeing as it still has the placeholder name on the shelves) it's hardly worth it. Don't get me wrong, it's actually a nice build in hand and it has great minifigs but I don't know what they were thinking with that price.
Never mind, they were thinking what they always do, people will buy it for the minifigs.
>look it up
>needs to be at least 450 degrees F
>then again, not sure if it will burn plastic anyway
>lego uses expensive metal machinery and injection molding process
I just wanna make some swirly marbled bootleg parts
anyone have the build for this?
i was interested in the xwing as well but forgot to save the image
It was 60 at my store but maybe it was a misprint. I wouldn't have any interest in it unless I planned to get the shuttle too so they can complement each other. Couldn't give less of a fun about the man katana minifig
>Any ausfags know any good international bricklink stores with decent prices/shipping?
I'm starting to exhaust all the stores in Australia for the parts I want.
Just got this today. Biggest lego box ive ever seen.
I guess you haven't seen the Ghostbusters Firehouse's yet. Fanboy for scale.
Forgot my picture. I mean they literally had designs in the show itself, so why they went for those are beyond me.
Maybe wait on reviews and pick up just the stuff you really like the look of.
I love all 3 that I picked up. And the King's Mech is probably one of the most surprisingly awesome sets I've gotten in along time.
>He thinks a movie about a bunch of dykes will revive a franchise that used to have Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in it
Sweet as usual.
One thing I do notice though is that you sometimes make really lanky forearms. I get it usually comes from adding articulation or avoiding studs, but it's why I usually just use 1x4 hinge plates for elbows. They can be rather easily extended, too, with their only main disadvantage being how they have studs on top, though there can be some ways to rectify this.
If you're willing to sacrifice some hand LDD functionality and poseability you can get a different, if slightly smoother looking wrist ala Lingonkart's Squid Sister MOCs. I usually don't use it because I don't have a problem with the exposed studs.
Still think you should build the team sometime.
Still waiting on Bricklink shipping over here.
>Really want a Nexo Knights display
>Really want to stock pile on those intro pack grunts
>Free with any purchase
>Wallet is dry as fuck
>Considering buying stupid shit like 1 bag of CMF and then returning to the store an hour later to get another one
>Considering selling odds and ends just to fuel my addiction
>Formulate this ridiculously autistic fucking master plan where I go travel back and forth to two Lego Retail stores as a disgusting neckbeard, then shave my beard and go back, then get a fucking hair cut and then comeback, and then finally comeback wearing a hat and my reading glasses
JUST FUCK MY SHIT UP SENPAI.
I don't agree. A lot of cape sets were dope. First wave avengers quinjet and loki escape. Deadpool helicopter. And the big man of steel set was cool. Also arkham was awesome.
Figure it out yourself it's not that hard. The important pieces are the ones you can see from that picture and the rest is just structural Shit that isn't hard to figure out.
How does ghost busters have such a hardcore fanbase? It's not like capeshit or star Wars where there is shit-tons of content to waste money on. Does she just watch the two movies over and over inbetween the old tv show?
how can anyone defend this outside the context of the minifigures it comes with?
Depends where you buy from, local postage is alright, shit from china is almost always shipped free. It's just America where the postage on everything is like $30 even if it's just a paper clip you're buying.
We have a decent amount of stores, I'm just looking for a lot of technic which comes after regular lego in most BL stores.
...The wing piece comes in orange? Now I regret this.
I'm still debating. There's a lot of factors to consider.
>How long until this thing sells out
>If I choose to sell my shit, how long until I can convert it to cash
>I can dedicate this to one day, but I need money, which is scarce
>How easy the Lego Store employees will think I'm some desperate neckbeard.
Of course, I can just say that I'd like to build a Nexo Knight display and see if they'd let me get away with making multiple purchases, but still....
Just got back from buying and building the Snowspeeder microfighter, Ultimate Lavaria and Battle on Takodana.
As a vignette Battle on Takodana is good, I'm not too keen on the $60 price tag but you get fucking Finn, Kylo Ren, TRAITOR, Maz, and another Stormie. Plus spare lightsaber hilts for both characters.
I'm primarily a collector / display guy so it feels really nice to set it up on my desk.
Lavaria is awesome (gonna need to get her a hair piece) and the snowspeeder is adorable next to my full-scale one.
Good thing about Star Wars LEGO is that it's frequently 20-30% off online when it's still in print.
Frankly you could probably buy multiples and get almost the entire cost back by selling the minifigs.
Especially Maz, I think, there probably won't be many more (or any more) sets with her in it, unless she somehow becomes a Yoda figure in VIII and IX but we already have Luke for that so...
I bought the newest N1 a little while ago and made this custom droideka since the official ones look pretty bad. Tried making it as accurate as I could. It's a bit large but I think it works. Thoughts?
i know i cant be the only one annoyed, but lavaria's stand holds the snakes without falling, and right side out, if you switch what side the crossbow and snakes are on
seriously, them being that loose annoyed me much more than it should have
>>that much detail for something with like 100 fans
I have finally registered 4chan account just to log on and piss in your mouth while cutting your mom's throat
>seriously, them being that loose annoyed me much more than it should have
Yeah... I sort of wedged them into their thing so they don't fall out.
The swap out powers range from really cool (Macy's Phoenix Fire, for example, and Lavaria's crossbow) to really lame (Lavaria's snakes, Clay's forcefield).
>Decide to get back into lego because TFA hype
>Poe's X-wing looks cool
>Set that size is probably about $50, right?
This hobby is not going to be kind to me, is it?
>Dark age ends 2 weeks ago when I got Green lantern ship as present froma friend
>Want to build something massive again, like the old castles
>Ninjago temple looks pretty nice, love the style
>How bad can it be? 130? 150?
Really lego? I understand it's a lot of bricks but come on. Only chance of getting that is sniping it somewhere once they go on sale
I don't need this... I don't need this..........
The sculpted heads are more in line with Simpsons toys. I really like them.
I was hoping for more. Super disappoint at how they dropped the ball with the hair sculpts because of Muh Ideas sets.
I'll be getting all the Lego dimensions figs and in reaaaaaally want the HQ but only if it was hollow as I don't really care for the play house aspect of these sets.
I would have loved it as a kid.
Also here is my haul for the month.
First of all, fuck these fleshies and death to all fleshies. The Snow Trooper is cool by why in the fuck don't they make the heads black?
Pisses me off.
>once they go on sale
Go to ali express. Look up "CITY OF STIIX NINJAGO WHITE MAN NINJA KILL AMERICA".
Get the same set for about $100 US FUNBUX with free shipping and 59 day shipping TIME. Sure, the set doesnt have LEGO printed on every stud, but same thing, same factory.
Yeah I want the New York but it's pretty expensive for the size.
The first order Snow Speeder is a nice heavy build. The set also came with an extra back pack holder thing and printed piece.
Also flat iron building looks cool and that Louvre museum.
Trevi is heavy as fuck and 731 pieces for $50 isn't too bad in my opinion.
Also-Also, thinking of getting a Mystery Machine before they go out of print. I can't believe the DeLorean is so expensive now.
You should just go to one store and tell an employee that you wanna take as much advantage of the freebie promo as you can. They'll understand, most LEGO Store workers know what's up.
>nice hefty attack helicopter
>room in the middle for troops
>well-placed flickfires with neat silver tips
>repository for delicious dark red bricks
It's a good build all on its own. The fact that it's actually Deadpool's just adds to the enjoyment.
i agree with this, but realize you need to find a nice one, and not sperg the fuck out
just explain it, even if they say fuck you, you'll probably be able to get a few. maybe not a massive army, but its not like he can stop you if you're actually buying things
Rumor mill says it's coming later this year.
>Encounter on Jakku
>Clone Turbo Tank
>six more buildable figures
As an Australian, my most recent regret is not buying the new Star Wars wave when I saw them pop up on the official Lego store. They're sold out on the online shop now and are apparently staggered releases (that haven't even started coming out yet) in stores.
>Claiming there's a vehicle than the FO Transporter
I guess when this was drawn, the galaxy series wasnt produced?
Jester is sad he couldnt help. In the end its even not-soldiers and princesses can help.
Its not fem thing, but everyone can help/fight.
You mean the Planets sets with the miniships? Those weren't produced until 2012; the yellow minifigs in that comic mark it as being from before 2004.
no it's too early in the morning and i have to go to work fuck everything
there's too much detail and it's inconsistent
the various small little curves/lines/creases you used to define the mouth, bridge of the nose, cheek crease etcetera say 'old woman' instead of however old macy is supposed to be
you want to keep many of these details implied, lines smooth and clean to convey a fresh-faced look, the eyelashes and mouth emphasized to convey femininity
most of all study structure, macy's head is too small for the face and the faces map onto the heads kind of off
hands too, they're as expressive/important as the face
I recommend Burne Hogarth books
I have that gorilla robot and i miss Chima...
Ghostbusters was the brainchild of 4 SNL comedians who helped diversify the script and not make it stale, the cartoon and susequent sequel and the new feminism reboot just shows how bazinga enccentric it got because of the commercial appeal America favours. Oh wait Im in a thread about such toys, Lego was founded on bringing to life such timeless classics that Funko does on an equal and profitable lego
Oh i watched few episodes of Big Bang but didn't liked Sheldon and his girlfriend (she literally made me cringe). Also im a nerd (not a "NERDY XD" but a literal nerd with no life and nerdy hobbies) and it made me upset.
Didn't hear Bazinga-word when i watched it...
>not liking Bazinga when its a part of Lego and has official recognition from the company
and these same people defend Doctor Who, a mere children's show
Except, SNL of the 80s and 90s was way more clever than it is today. And Ghostbusters 2 wasn't as well received as the first movie. But at the same time, they kind of knew their limits, and even sort of lampooned themselves much in the way Gremlins 2 did because they knew it could never live up to the original, so they poked fun at themselves instead which ended up working.
But modern pop culture isn't nearly as clever, witty, or thoughtful as anything that came out 30, 20, even 10 years ago. It's all about culling through Reddit, twitter, and tumblr for the hottest memes of the week, and just infusing them into your hip "lol so nerdy" show.
No one will remember TBBT in 30 years, like people remember Ghostbusters now. Hell, in 30 years, people will probably still consider Ghostbusters a classic.
>why the fuck would you call yourself a nerd, ever
Well dipshit. I dunno. May be because i like nerdy stuff and im a nerd?
>manchild I can understand
manchild is a whiny looser that often shitpost on 4chan like you.
Im 32 old working as an artist and getting enough money for living all by myselt and buying my nerdy stuff.
Where is your god now?
You n me, both.
I've got all 6 ultimate figure sets, the library, jestros evil wagon thing and the two little 10$ sets with no-name soldiers and monsters(wanted a few nameless npcs when my 4 year old and I play with them).
I expect to have every set in the next couple weeks.
You think lego would release a print of this on a torso as a NYCC exclusive, seeing how commercial con is the epitome of bazingha nerdy culture? :^)
why wouldn't fans of a classic enjoy a reboot thats lampooning and a different take of such a common theme of 4 average dues replaced with women, especially when theres a funny dance off at the end? :^)
I think Fangar's sword has to be my favorite brick-built weapon in a set.
I'm very tempted to try and get this, but if I do, it means I have no money for Star Wars stuff or Nexo Knights stuff, and I'm too poor to go one-up and get the Detective Office.
What should I do /lg/?
>Free with any purchase
Obviously forgot my fucking picture because I'm an idiot.
The Brick Bank. I'm very tempted to get the Brick Bank.
Save some money on the side and get it a few months down the line, maybe during a VIP double-points month.
Modulars are gonna stay on shelves for at least the entire year of their release. You can wait for that one.
Keep in mind these are the same people that complain that Lego makes X-Wings white instead of grey.
They both love and hate grey.
Also four of the TFA sets are loads of grey pieces. The Falcon, Kylo Ren's shuttle, the troop transport, and the snow speeder.
i dont know really sinse i dont follow it. But the stuff they promoting (like this thing. in our toy store this thing stands under the glass and with lights and shit like its a HYPE! thing...but its so boring looking. I mean look at this! literally a "grey block that goes "pew pew")
>Keep in mind these are the same people that complain that Lego makes X-Wings white instead of grey.
>They both love and hate grey.
i dunno what are you talking about. Im not a SW fan and im saying just about what i see.
Also the only SW lego i have is this: >>5377973
yellow "starship" (original not custom of course)
Ah, okay. I've seen a lot of Star Wars Lego fans get frothing-at-the-mouth angry at white X-wings.
Literally never heard anyone complain about that while I have heard plenty of people complain about all the grey.
Also the new Millennium Falcon set, though I guess a new paint job would have thrown the classic look and upset the fans more.
It just doesn't look right, the x wing in the movies is lighter than Lego light grey but only barely. If they had gone all out and made the new UCS version very light grey I actually would have bought it
that reminded me another reason of why i avoid SW and other licensed stuff with fee exceptions.
Their white/black skin really limits use of those minifig parts. All my white skinned heads left in trash place where they will never be taken from.
tBh, Star Wars in Lego form is asking for blocky gray vehicles. I used to collect the regular figures when Lego SW first came out, and the idea was nice and all, but it looked so much nicer in action figure and vehicle form than Lego that I never got on board with it, plus I didn't want to have to collect the same stuff again.
>I'm actually kinda sad that Lego City stuff is yellow-skinned, because it means I can never get into it because Lego Star Wars comes with normal skinned people.
>ignoring other lego worlds like castle or underwater etc. with yellow skin
I think Star Wars wasn't the priority in lego at all. Yellow faces are the true race.
White is minority.
oh wait that sounds funny as hell.
Yeah, I know I was ignoring a lot of the other themes and I'm still kinda hoping to sometimes buy a lego castle and pirate ship, it's just that the most modern themes don't look as awesome as the 80s and 90s sets, especially those that I had when I was a kid. As an "adult" collector I'm most interested in Star Wars lego.
>tBh, Star Wars in Lego form is asking for blocky gray vehicles.
i think that's the main reason of why people complaining.
Lego fans tend to build shit that colored like picrelated.
If you are lego builder, not collector of sets, then its obviously there will be the time when you add some new parts to built set or even re-build it or mix it with other stuff.
Lego Star Wars with its grey blocks REALLY limits creativity. What are you gonna do with a bunch of grey blocks from this: >>5378850
My lego stuff dont look that grey so there is noth that much i can do with it. May be will build a...i dunno...prison. Or use them in some "ruins" as "bricks".
>Or use them in some "ruins" as "bricks".
also there comes other bad thing about lego SW - it's too expensive for use it just for parts like we do with City/Chima/etc.
Which means i will be buying SW sets only for fun looking stormtrooper minifigures, R2D2, other droids and weapons.
Which Lego Slave 1 is the best aside from the UCS?
Gray blocks for me are a god-send because I'm partly colour blind and I fucking hate mixing them up with each other. Plus I love ships that are gray or white with a colour accent like most ships in Star Wars.
Aw yiss, but new Mos Espa Podrace set when? Gotta get me that Gasgano.
>six more buildable figures
I don't like the figures at all (nothing wrong with 'em, just don't like 'em), but that's actually a good thing because it essentially halves the number of sets I "need" to get.
Last Turbo Tank set was in 2010, and the first was in 2005. If anything, we're overdue for a new one.
The Snowspeeder is an especially egregious example given how its only scene was cut from the final film. We see it for half a second as Rey and Finn go through a door.
There is another color between white and light bley, called "LtStone" (light bley is actually "MdStone"). It's on Thok the Piraka and the first Mindstorms NXT set and maybe some other sets from that same time.
I'd say 8097 is the best non-UCS, but if you don't like pupiled minifigures, 6209 is good too.
wait what? i was looking for non grey sets and found this in the internet store with other new SW sets.
i didnt see the movie yet. does it has gungans? this one looks so specific like its a character.
I dont have anything against gungans i even like them. Too bad i dont like that much of green but i woudn't mind this gungan and that gay looking driver lol
>I'll bite, that vehicle/scene is from episode one.
not bait. im that "not a SW fan". literally. i know so little about it and dont care about newer episodes. Episode 2 was the last one i cared about.
I think its time to accept that many people in lego community dont care about SW. SW is not a reason of why some of us like Lego.
i do like Gungans however. i spent hours in Gungan Frontier game on PC.
(also fans whining about gungans is another shit i hate SW fans for)
>that vehicle/scene is from episode one.
nah 100% not from it. during episode 1 gungans werent civilized. Its that war at the end that made them come out of swamp
>Are they clone wars big-eye heads cus if they are I don't want any of that shit.
im not selling. just saying. i dont think i would bother with shipping for the number of heads that is less than 10.
Did anyone imagined nasty stuff about people on lego boxes as a kid?
Like this for example. If i was a kid i would probably think that captain fucked that chick while transporting her car. And she gave him number so he gonna call her later this why she looks so happy.
i would imagine all kinds of nasty stuff. Like this promotional photo for example. That firechick cant sleep because she wants to fuck so she's gonna wake her buddy soon and ask about sex.
He will be upset because he already annoyed by her sexy-thirsty personality.
Got my wife the Louvre for Christmas. She loves it, and it's honestly a beautiful set, very well done (same with the Trevi, which she already has).
I thought the New York was expensive, but it does at least have a sizeable piece count.
>Again, what the fuck anon
>Lmao the fuck?
>No, what the fuck anon
I bet you all were "that nice mommy's boy".
I remember i had Aquasharks base (picrel) and imagined that captain sets up sex orgies sometimes when his men are bored.
I thought it's funny because you see the submarine floating but you dont know what exactly is happening inside of it right now. And after hours of spending time with other people in that closet little thing in the middle of deep sea you sure wont mind having sex with even your own gender.
Honestly I thought the design of your pic was sufficient. I have it myself. I would like to see it in green or blue, though.
Also, if it wasn't posted already, Brickset is showing a new Darth Vader's TIE Advanced, and Captain Rex's AT-TE in addition to that Turbo Tank.
If Jar Jar spoke an alien language like Chewbacca, he'd probably be a pretty well loved character today.
I really like that A-Wing design myself. It's very well done, and I like the set up where he can actually pull out the engine core / hyperdrive / whatever and work on it.
I'd love that same basic build in the next one, with cosmetic differences.
Also fuck yeah Vader's TIE Advance will be awesome.
>If Jar Jar spoke an alien language like Chewbacca, he'd probably be a pretty well loved character today.
Also that anon who likes gungans:
i've read an Episode I book when the movie came out and it had a little more information about characters (well because its a book and it has more time for describing them).
Jar Jar was a lot more likable in a book. He was that type of character that is "a coward but really wants to stop being a coward but can't do nothing with his fear but understands that he found himself in the middle of something important and his whole race depends on his actions".
Stuff like "yes im a coward but im also a GUNGAN! FUCK YOU!".
It made me like Jar Jar.
>The Force Awakens Stormtrooper Battlepack only comes with one Stormtrooper
>It has been a year now and LEGO still hasn't made a real Original Trilogy Battlepack with actual regular Stormtroopers
And NO the fucking Rebels shit did not count, and NO the fucking jetpack Battlepack that is coming out soon doesn't count either because that is based on Battlefront and the Stormtroopers in the pack are all fucked up. I want regular, clean Stormtroopers of the new design for fuck sake.
I'm actually debating getting a fire truck. Fuck.
They are fucking $10 a pop. For fuck sake I have waited literal YEARS for a new Stormtrooper battlepack. First all LEGO would do was pump about a shitzillion Clone Wars sets for the "muh clones" kitties, now we're on to TFA. I have no problem with them releasing shit that relates to the new movies, but throw us a fucking bone here, we've been waiting fucking years. I'm convinced LEGO is just toying with us at this point.
>Finally announce a new Stormtrooper battlepack, even better ALL FOUR figures will be Stormtroopers
>It is the shitty Rebels Stormtroopers
>Oh but don't worry, we're going to give you another battlepack with Stormtroopers
>It is a battlepack from Battlefront, two of the Stormtroopers have fucked up armor with scratches and dirt all over it
I just want one fucking new Battlepack, it doesn't even have to be "the perfect set" as you put it, just give me a battlepack with at least two Stormtroopers in it and you won't hear me bitch ever again.
>I'd say 8097 is the best non-UCS, but if you don't like pupiled minifigures, 6209 is good too.
Yeah, I ended up buying the 6209 because I already have a modern Boba Fett and I'm absolutely disgusted by the main flick-fire system in the newer set.
Just go to the Nexo Knights section on lego.com. Tons of pictures with the character descriptions.
Probably the Star Wars: Rebels version. Slightly different and a blue/grey colorscheme.
Wonder about the figures though. There are 3 different pilot designs in the show. The green one probably not because it´s too similar to the old A-Wings. Maybe the blue woman or a red pilot with a repainted oval egg helmet from the 2014 B-Wing. People speculate about a repaint of the Mandalorian girl with the season 2 outfit which seems likely as well.
i saw newest TIE polybag at Tesco. did you consider that option?
also: say goodbye to chima , lego fans.
The First Orders designs are all function over style. Justifyable but still pretty bad because Star Wars and the OT in particular already did this much better and they kind of went full retard with the Transport Ship and ultra generic speeder. The worst has to be the new AT-AT because it is simply ugly and completely useless. Instead of a slightly turnable head they put a giant, static turret in there so they can´t even aim the gun without moving the entire walker which I assume is as slow as the old AT-AT. No wonder that thing only appeared in the background of two shots.
TL;DR Jar Jar Abrahams concept art team is full of hacks.
>Keep in mind these are the same people that complain that Lego makes X-Wings white instead of grey.
These are two polar opposites, the first category are nitpicky fans, the second category are casuals.
Actually since I made that image I've gotten two of that TIE Fighter, one to turn into an Interceptor.
But yeah the new TIE polybag is pretty nice I got two in my stocking for Christmas from my Dad.
I've been trying to work on that; something like this might be the best option for short limbs. Of course, if you need to add more detail around there (Like with Reimu's sleeves), the lankiness gets hard to avoid without limiting articulation a bit.
And if by "the team" you mean the other 2hu MCs, it's something I've considered.
2010 one has better colorscheme but 2006 one has a tighter/stabler design and better figure selection imo (old Bespin guard is much better than the UCS one, IG-88 in silver parts, Dengar looks ok).
One solution for sleeves that you could easily use whilst using hinge plates is just to use different colors for the hinge plate halves. If you get two white and two tan hinge plates, you can then split them so that one half of the plate is white for the upper sleeve and the other half is tan for the exposed wrist.
It isn't doable in LDD, but it is IRL. A somewhat useful trick.
The flesh-coloured smiley face reminds me of the face of mercy. I like the figure selection better myself too. Speaking of the old flesh coloured faces, I actually found all the parts for the A-wing Mechanic that came in the 200X version, except the god damn flesh coloured hands. And the burnt up Anakin from the Darth Vader transformation. Good times. I didn't even realize everyone has glints in their eyes nowadays.
Where do you build? sitting by a table with Lego neatly sorted in many different drawers? Or on the floor surrounded by vast mounds of colourful bricks? Which creation of yours is the one you're proudest of?
The Gungan is captain Tarpals ("Ouch time" "use the boomer"). He also fought and defeated General Grievous in The Clone Wars season 4 episode 4.
I am this close to making a photoshoot with my yellow Lego Hitler in a fleshy concentration camp.
A Guy on Eurobricks cleaned his Battlefront Troopers up quite nicely. Try that or just wait, I assume we will have another go for Shinies with Rogue One, that´s supposed to be set before ANH so they have to use normal troopers there at some point. I hope they don´t make any more color variants like the red Shocktrooper for the Empire, just so stupid.
Also, aren´t the whites with the UCS Slave One/2014 ISD deisgn cheaper now since they were included in the Advent Calendar as well? I saw some stores for 6€ a popo on Bricklink, I would buy them if I were desperate but I prefer waiting for a better chance. Don´t care if it takes a year or ten years at this point, they are going to do a new and better BP at some point.
Just because you don't like the Stormtroopers they've put out doesn't mean they should put out others.
Honestly I'm perfectly happy with my 12 from Rebels. All my normal troopers end up on my Death Star.
I almost always sit on the floor with a massive pile of bricks that may seem useful. This little race car is my proudest creation along with a small spaceship I made a while back.
Nah, I'm 30, but I'm white so my Dad is still around man.
>Just because you don't like the Stormtroopers they've put out doesn't mean they should put out others
They have put out tons of clone battlepacks, and even put out the frowny faced Rebels stormtroopers. We haven;t had just a regular Original Trilogy Stormtrooper battlepack in years. They have remade the LAAT, Turbo Tank, etc. without giving us a single proper battlepack. It is insulting, is what it is. I just want one fucking small $15 battlepack with just like two Stormtroopers in it, is that so much to ask for? Fuck your cartoony Rebels shit nigga, I don't want it.
You don't, I'm just mad.
>Nexo Lava Monsters
>Ninjago Monsters Pirates
>CMF Disney Villains
why is TLG stroking my Villain boner so hard this year?
Honestly I don't see why people are so apprehensive about mixing Stormie variants.
It's not like the actual Stormtroopers looked exactly the same.
With the new UCS Death Star set or something else?
Because my conference room on the old Death Star is full up on officers now, but Tarkin could use an update. Yularen looks fucking great.
They literally all do look the same, the only difference is their build and height. The armor is exactly the same on all of them.
I know, that is why I am mad. I;ve already been waiting years, now odds are I will be waiting even longer. Knowing LEGO they will release a new Original Trilogy Stormtrooper battlepack, then come out with a new Stormtrooper design like a wave later.
I understand your pain but I don´t think it´s even Rebels and TCW taking up slots. 2015 was simply bad with the BPs. Shadow Troopers don´t need Battlepacks, let alone Shadow Royal Guards. Senate Commandos were nice but they dropped the ball by not making it two TCW Commandos and two TPM/AOTC caped guards. Geonosis Camo troopers should have had ARF and Phase 1 helmets to fit that one TCW episode where they actually had camo clones on Geonosis, Airbornes and Phase 2 are just unnecessary. Hell, even a darktan/tan camo would have been better for US Military customs. And Rebels Stormtroopers of course. I don´t even understand it, they obviously know that nobody liked the faces so they changed them to the normal style for Rebels but they still keep different torso/helmet designs between cartoons and Life Action because???
And the year before: Did we really need Royal Guards and Death Star Gunners? I am not complaining about more figures but you don´t really need more than the two guards that come with every Palpatine set and Death Star Gunners would have fit more into a Star Destroyer or bigger turret set, a Death Star BP sounds more like Stormtroopers and officers for me, not these two specialists.
But just bust a move man, keep waiting. They will make it eventually. Stormtroopers are too sought after for them to ignore them in favor of TFA Stormies. I wouldn´t even put it past them to have plans for some Battlepack 4 years in the future where they give Stormtroopers full white legs with black printed spots in the style of the First Order Stormtrooper or Imperial Inspection set because that obviously looks much more accurate than the plain black hips they have now. That Lego works by increasing their details just a little bit every few years is widely known, just look at the thousand Bobas they made since 2010. Just wait or do you need them really fast?
when will there be more
1. Transparent Red
2. Transparent Yellow
3. Transparent Black
4. Transparent Green
5. Transparent (regular) blue
in pieces that aren't windscreens?
I miss it too.
The builds were nice.
I liked the minifigures too, even the heads.
The stories was kinda interesting, but i guess for older a little bit underwhelming.
But so far it was a success for lego and as a new IP.
What i think was not well executed with chima was:
1. Too many times the same maincharacters in the boxes
2. Some generic soldiers in the boxes.
3. Gimmick packages with the speedors cost too much and gave besides some special minis no value. (Guess production cost were too high and the boxes sold poorly bringing chima down)
4. Battlepacks came too late.
I kinda hoped after the ice melted there would come some sea creature clans (reuse atlantis molds) or dinosaur/dragon clans.
If we want to go full autistm search for ANH Stunt Helmet on Google. 50 helmets for stunts, 6 for close up work but they still made close ups of Stunt helmets in the movie.
There are some differences but it is more sloppy paint application and the height of the black line above the eyes.
For ROTJ they also made a bunch of new helmets and the only noticeable differences were black mouths instead of grey/black dotted and the black line above the eyes being even closer to the eyes.
I thought the same when they released the Rebels BP but now we have the Battlefront as well. I think they don´t care as much about repeating, similar figures as before.
The only hope I have is that since it was barely in the movie, Rian Johnson's team fixes the design, assuming it's in the next movie.
Kind of hoping Rian Johnson fixes a lot of shit.
this creator set felt more like part pack than actuall set.
...save for the plane build
This was the first use of the flame mold: 70162 Infearno Interception, from Ultra Agents.
All transparent pieces are made of polycarbonate. Polycarbonate is stiffer, but also more brittle than ABS. This limits their usability.
The cockpit would be under the armor, which is at least worse than the original (wouldn't say it's better, though).
I have to assume there's some degree of weapon vectoring. I mean, this is the same First Order that made a superlaser that could hit 5 planets at once.
>All transparent pieces are made of polycarbonate. Polycarbonate is stiffer, but also more brittle than ABS. This limits their usability.
Is there a more specific guide to this? They already make 1x2 plates and 4x4 wedge plates with a 2x2 cut-out in trans, what makes those pieces more stable than others? Wouldn´t the 4x4 wedge plate with 2x2 cut-out be more prone to break than a normal plate?
6x6 trans plates weren´t even that long ago in a winter village as well.
Why are those okay but Wonder Womans jet gets fucked with airplane tails for wings instead of simple X-Wing plates in trans clear?
i just wish these "nexus power" on the armour would be really like visionaries and their totems.
But i think it would mean too much ip problems with rights and so on.
I never bothered with post-ROTJ EU, it all seemed fanficy in one way or another. The Legacy comics with their 90s grit, countless emperor, Luke and Deat star clones in multiple stories called "official continuation of the movies" that don´t even seem to ackknowledge each others existence, everything about the Yuhzahn Vong or however you spell it.
It´s like thought of making a sequel to ROTJ destroys every writers ability to critical thought. It was a meme already that star wars is only about super weapons even though that only applies to ANH and ROTJ and then they literally do it a third time. I hope that only is because they shat out TFA and want to make a second Marvel Universe blockbuster factory as fast as possible.
Just think about how Star Wars would be if every movie was just about another Death Star trench run.
Episode 8 has 2 modified planets exchanging energy for a laser that destroys 10 planets.
Episode 9 has 6 mecha-planets displayed like a star of David exchanging energy for a laser that destroys 20 planets.
Episode 10 has 10 mecha planets with traveling energy between each one to create a laser shockwave exterminating every object in the way of that flat, expansing ring.
It´s simply retarded.
>that don´t even seem to ackknowledge each others existence
Ironically (or maybe not?) old Star Wars canon had some of the most consistent continuity of any sci-fi franchise. There were/are people whose only job was to keep things straight, with remarkably few slip-ups.
>what is the slippery slope fallacy
If we look at all seven movies...
1, 2, 3, 4- DEATH STAR
5, 6- DEATH STAR II
As the story progressed, it took half as long each time for them to have another super weapon. That means that the next Super Weapon should be destroyed halfway through Episode 8, then the next one after that will be destroyed 3/4 of the way through Episode 8. Episode 8 will then spiral into infinite super weapons, each coming twice as fast as the previous one, until the universe implodes.
why are baseplates so fucking expensive.
I can't build roads for shit.
They have to give the fighter pilots something to do in space. With Poe as part of the main group of characters we know there's going to be something going on in space so he gets a chance to show off. I suspect 8 will have a First Order Super Star Destroyer or something, that just happens to have a trench built into it.
Gotta have a reason for all those trench coats, after all.
>There were/are people whose only job was to keep things straight, with remarkably few slip-ups.
I know and it certainly didn´t feel that way. How many death star plans were stolen? 12 or so at least. And the guy who oversaw that just said "they were all just parts of the plan that were all sent to Leia who then was the only person in possession of the entire plan".
I wish I had that guys job sounds easy just making up excuses like that, hell every person participating in Star Wars discussions is doing just that for free. And then they never gave an explanation for the movie-tie in clone wars EU and the The Clone Wars tie-in universe not being able to co-exist because Disney just steamrolled both. That would have been the only tricky part of his job and then he didn´t even have to do anything about it.
>what is the slippery slope fallacy
Yes, I remembered it. I am actually sad that not every person watching had that thought pop into their head the moment they watched the scene where the laser built up its energy.
Lego Bricks & Pieces sells 8x16 tiles for 1,67€ or something in black and dark grey. Much cheaper and more versatile than the normal road pieces and cheaper when you consider that you can´t get any straight road plates separately.
Death Star, Executor or two Simpsons sets.
Are there any templates floating around for the Astromech printed details? I'd love to make stickers and be able to make my own Astromechs in the colors I want.
a brush to loosen the dust and a small vacuum cleaner or just water and brush. Or dip them in hydrogen-peroxide or something like that if you want to fix discolouration. But the bricks should be clean for that and you need sunlight. I don't know if an UV lamp would work.
I was in the same situation as you when I started collecting Lego Star Wars in late 2013. Had to really brush the parts to loosen the dirt and then rinse them with water. I think I even put them in some warm soapy water for a while? I can't remember exactly.
The more screenshots I see of this cartoon the more I think I'll have fun with it.
At least Jestro gets a whole load of goon pals.
>yfw Whiperella doesn't like being called Whiperella
We kinda already know something like that is gonna happen, some images from a while ago suggest part 2 of Nexo Knights will involve swamp monsters.
I like how many side characters get bios.
Han: "Look kid, I think you can eat bacon there"
I know, right?
I'm really enjoying some of CN's current lineup too as well as loads of anime and the like. Fun times.
I was just thinking that, actually. It'd be pretty nice, I have to say.
I feel it important to mention I had a dream where I was in this Toy's R Us that was also a wildlife reserve or some shit and had to steal a bunch of Lego Simpsons blindbags but I did so by shoving them up my ass and they dissolved inside my rectum so I sifted through my poop for a Lego Nelson figure. This doesn't worry me as much as it should.
Gungans not civilized?
Their cities are high scientific underwater domes
Jar Jar on the other hand...
I also think it's from Ep 1
>He was that type of character that is "a coward but really wants to stop being a coward
If I remember correctly, that was how his character was originally envisioned, before he became a clumsy bumbling fuck
