The new year is almost upon us. Which releases are you looking forward to? What new trends do you expect to see? Which companies might bite the dust before 2017?
Post those that did not make it.
I ordered a Transportation Captain today. I think it's the best looking of the 3P Astrotrain's.
Chigurh kinda went in it's own direction on the alt modes. Evila Star had great alts but issues with the robot.
I guess this is the thread now that the other has reached bump limit?
rip in peace
Think that 3P guys ever draw up designs for hyper-niche guy remakes like MP-styled Beast Wars and Anime figures or something completely original based on a vehicle they though looked cool for fun?
What's the best standalone figure I can buy for 100 dollars?
I don't have any allegiance to G1 characters but I like the simple masterpiece designs.
I like the Function X line from Fansproject.
I like Fansproject in general.
I purchased Generation Toy's Scraper because he looks amazing.
I was considering pic related.
3rd party MP Transmetals would be a win-win. They're robotic enough for G1 fans(the robot modes had an organic look on the toys, but that wasn't really emphasized in the animation) , and the transmetals likely won't be touched by Takara as the Metals line wasn't as popular in Japan as season 1. A lot of people would love an MP Transmetals Megatron or Tarantulas, even over the Season 1 versions. And you can get some vague G1 reuse if you want(most notably Cheetor as Ravage); or more obtuse ones like Tarantulas in g1 insecticon colors or Rampage in G1 Pirahnacon colors.
>I like Fansproject in general.
All of the vehicons are above average and pretty cheap.
>I purchased Generation Toy's Scraper because he looks amazing.
You will not be dissapointed. I love mine.
Be advised, GT's mix master comes with several replacement parts for Scrapper that take him from being above average, to near perfect.
Got Wrath yesterday and just finished transforming him for the first time. Tedious describes the whole ordeal. There's so many slots and tabs and everything has to be lined up perfectly for them to fit properly. Despite that I'm very satisfied with him. Now I hope the other two arrive with good QC....
Sweet jesus, those guys. I bought breakdown on his own because he's my favorite of the five and I didn't really like the looks of M3 or whatever, but he's got hands-down the most frustrating transformation I've experienced. The tolerances are so tight it's ridiculous, I felt like I was gonna cut myself on the spoiler I had to push so hard to get the rear end to tab together. Mechanically it's cool; enough stuff swings around to be satisfying and the way the wheels collapse into the shins is brilliant, but the entire thing is just so goddammed tight it's painful. I think he's the only transformer I've ever transformed back and forth once.
When are these guys out? I'm probably gonna try to buy one off someone if they don't want the whole set.
MP GL is like 180 bucks. I don't know how much Not Grimlock is going for here but there might be a chance he's actually cheaper.
I don't have a masterpiece tier GL yet and I don't give a shit about the other dinobots. I was gonna wait until I saw what the best one was before I paid out the ass for one.
>I was considering pic related.
But... that's an official Takara product.
Doesn't matter. It is excellent, easily one of the best MPs with his ridiculous head sculpt and awesome accessories. I suppose if you buy the Dr. Wu add-on kit, it becomes relevant to the topic at hand, and also makes him more over-the-top 90s than he already is.
>love GT Scraper
>trying to get the combiner port to move, ridiculously tight
> think wedging something in the hole will provide some torque
Call me Dr. Hamhands, because I have a PHD in breaking solid shit. Well, at least not entirely, but I can't use that little hole anymore for leverage.
I like how much more round and Bulbous he is. The legs look pretty solid too. No shots from the back so I assume they didn't tuck in the Dino head to the torso. I think the dino head might look a little too mean but it isn't bad. Really I'm not sold on Scoria considering how much better Giga's looks.
Hey /3ptfg/ what's the last Hasbro toy you've been fully satisfied with?
Since I started getting into 3 party stuff, the vanilla Hasbro stuff just doesn't seem to cut it.
Personally, Legends Powerglide and Thundercracker are the only two I've kept around from Combiner Wars, IMO all the repaints and remolds to make some janky-ass looking combiners really didn't sit well with me, they just looked bad, some G1 combiners even looked better than stock Menasor.
Superion with upgrade sets for something quick and dirty to scratch the itch. Works well with a lot of the legends scale I keep picking up.
Just noticing now that the rex chest kibble wings are curved outward into the shoulder and are thickened so they look more armored. That's really nice.
I like Bruticus well enough, and the PE set takes him to another level. He's not perfect, but solid B+, it also helps I don't care about G1 at all, so accuracy means nothing. Giant is still my Devastator stand in, so he shall be forever more.
Also is Hexatron worth 130$? He's something I've been looking for and I just saw him for a decent price.
>Pretty good, I'd love to see what Gigapower does first before I make a decision, though
I like the look of GP Dinos but I want a complete set of MP Dinos while I'm young.
The only problem with that is that frankly, they're barely necessary. The Transmetal show models were very, very show-accurate; the only ones who really stick out as inaccurate are Rampage and maybe Blackarachnia.
Season 1 Beast Wars is a better place to look for remakes because the show models took major, major liberties.
True, they're not as necessary as say, Ironhide or something, but it still would be nice to have.
Their sculpts and articulation are pretty outdated, and there's alot of minor aesthetics you can improve.
Trans Tarantulas had a really shitty inaccurate head, and his arms suck cause his claws arent pronounced and he doesnt have wrist articulation
Trans Rattrap is a little off proportions wise, and his backpack doesnt twist like in the show
Not really necessary, but still not 100% accurate to the show, you know?
They sort of are, but it will come with their core-figure replacement and won't have the pieces for the RtS Prime. Most of it will still attach to RtS prime, but thewaist may not be able to take the weight and can't attach the waist armor.
I've gotten PE hands to hold him...And then took him out a few days later and now cannot get them to hold him again. It's probably going to take a very specific finger position to do right and I can't remember the specific positions.
>The train guy? that's a hard sell i think...
How is it more of a hardsell than Monstructor/Dinoking?
Raiden at least has cred for being a diaclone combiner. And people go gaga over trains.
>He's the same size cab as Prime
Doesn't mean shit
>can carry MP cars and transforms into a robot that's bigger than Prime
Doesn't mean shit.
>All the correct size requirements are there.
>In what way is he not MP scaled?
He's supposed to be ONE head taller than Prime, not to tower him. There's no alt mode scale in the MP line.
>He's supposed to be ONE head taller than Prime
Scale has never been consistent in Transformers, whether in the toys, the cartoons, or the comics. Hating on a toy that can work with MP scale or CHUG scale or whatever the fuck you want to work with is stupid. You think it's too big, that's your subjective opinion. It doesn't invalidate that it's a good toy.
>I'm absolutely clueless about the MP line.
That's your post.
>You think it's too big, that's your subjective opinion
No, it's a fact. Go research the subject.
>It doesn't invalidate that it's a good toy.
THAT'S an opinion.
Implying I'm the MP poster
>Go research the subject.
"Sixshot changes sizes often in IDW's Devastation mini-series. Sometimes he is shown being the size of a normal Transformer, but other times he is depicted as being about the size of a gestalt."
Also, which Prime is Hex supposed to be just a head taller than? The Deluxe one? The Voyager one? The legends class one? The CW one?
Which UM should Hexatron be a head taller than? The Generations one? The MP one? The white repaint one?
That's why it's subjective. Your 'one head bigger' is based on an inconsistent reference.
Does Hexatron represent Sixshot well? He's got the colors, he's got the guns, he's got the transformations. He updates it with a modern look and with modern articulation. Objectivelly, it's a good toy. When you start nitpicking the size and the greebles, you're just acting like an asshole trying to justify why you don't like it.
some online gaming review site that's been posting obviously paid shill reviews since the 90s.
>inb4 gamergate runs in to claim "journalism was only screwed up when Zoe dumped her boyfriend, it wasn't that bad in the 90s, I'm a true gamer because I played Marvel vs Capcom once!"
>There's no alt mode scale in the MP line.
Well clearly you're wrong in this case.
MP Ultra Magnus is too big in bot mode precisely because he's scaled to Prime in alt mode.
Also, cry more faggot.
>in a review
Reviews should be objective as fuck. It should clearly state all negatives and all positives. Hyping isn't the place for a review, unless you want someone shilling some shit to you.
I want a review so I can form an opinion of a things negatives and positives and judge whether it is worthwhile. Not many reviewers can do this. Not saying that guy does it either.
Peaugh is a fucking terrible reviewer, and doing it over the years has destroyed whatever enthusiasm he had for toys.

Finally got Planet X Vulcun and he looks and feels great, he's got a real heft to him, but fucking hell if that transformation for the first time wasn't the most infuriating thing. The instructions don't even help you in the slightest I sat for around twenty minutes not even knowing you had to flip his entire chest-piece down.
Great figure though!
TFC Liokaizer guys look so good. Fortis looks like kind of a mess. Why was Feral Rex so popular?
Have Hades and Poseidon redeemed TFC after Prometheus and Ares?
Manta mode is kind of a mess.
Shark with legs is on point though.
Master Made Apollo is up for preorder for whoever's interested.
Yes, every time I see a picture of this guy and realize I'm not going to be able to stop myself from buying him.
Word of advise, don't do the twin sword combinations. They look nice, and the way they pieces slip together is interesting, but the two smaller blades that slide together are incredibly tough to separate.
Tell those fuckers to make versions of all these guys with smaller properly scaled heads and Ill buy them all.
Id love to have small versions of all the giant transformer dudes.
The SD heads make them look like crap.
February. Hope you dont mind legends scale.
I cant stress this enough. Smaller heads would look weird
They didnt design a Metroplex toy and then just made its head bigger, SD designs dont work like that.
The entire body is stubbier in order to show a cuter appearance. Do you want a "normal" metroplex with stubby proportions? it would be weird as fuck
I keep seeing this complaint get posted and it's starting to drive me up the wall. "Call me when they make some regular sized heads", they cry. People in this camp can't seem to wrap their heads around the concept that SD proportion apply to more than the head. Making the head smaller is not going to magically make the toy perfect.
tl;dr stop bitching that a company should go against its design philosophy. If you want tiny city-bots, then bitch that Iron factory or DX9 haven't made any yet.
>The only question is will they remold the squid to be Scylla?
either that, or, they can design that mold with both genders in mind, make it adjustable. which sounds like a more economic choice than retooling
Found it for you. I'll dump some pics, this should be the new 3p Beast Wars.
They mostly look like Zoids designs, which is absolutely ok.
And then I fell into the dark world of Transformers Doujin. That's 3P right? Pic related
I think this artbook came from Comiket? that's where More than Just a Geek Spark artbook came out
>I'd think a bat would suit Soundwave more
That's a really good idea, it'd be perfect cause bats spy on shit and have sonars.
Also Prime Soundwave is kinda bat like with the ears and the wing arms and the stealth
It's so cute that his horse mode also has a visor, nice touch!
Yea, it just cane out this Comiket. Pic related, I posted the link further up.
It's clear orangish plastic on gold plastic. Unlike most who use clear or light blue.
Don't know if that's final all the same.
Although, it's not like FP has been going for strict G1 accuracy anyway.
Has anyone had an issue with their Cynicus of the chest piece just falling off straight out of the box?
His chest falls off, followed by his arms and head/neck falling out of their sockets. Even when I hold the chest on, the upper ball joints in his shoulders are incredibly loose and just swing around wherever gravity takes them. I can't get him to hold his arms up. Is this an issue with any other Cynicus (I haven't heard about it) or did I get a really bum QC issue? Was the piece originally supposed to be glued, or were the two little screw tips visible inside his chest supposed to hold the front chest piece on?
Ok, the production model looks so much better.
And the Planet X stuff isn't bad, it's really pretty damn good. I just don't want the FoC version of the Dinobots, I'm looking more for CHUG-ish stuff.
Now that I know that, I'm going to try and get a replacement. I looked closer at the front chest piece and there's a big (read: tiny but lumpy) piece of mold flash on one of the curved 'rail' bits inside it. Poked at it and it seems to be peeling off, but I doubt the chest will hold on anyway.
This is my first purchase from MMC and though I know this can't be a very common thing I'm still sad.
Should I be contacting MMC or the retailer I got it from though?
I suspect they're a bit mad at me because of a small fiasco where Cynicus was ordered on Dec 8th for a Christmas present and he just came today. Well, even if they're mad at me, it's the last time I'm using them anyway.
Thanks for confirming, man.
God damn, this is just disappointing.
Closest you're getting is the Xovergen trailerforce set. I don't know the consensus is on that one.
I'm more interested in when we're getting an MP Victory Leo, Star Saber is lonely.
I don't follow your reasoning. The FoC designs were themselves based on the G1 characters.
CHUG is simply modernized updates of the G1 designs, how are the FoC Dinobots any different?
They have already revealed the core figure though, which is based on Stormbringer Optimus. Not confirmed, but the shape of the back-lower leg is identical in these silhouettes.
FoC had a different design aesthetic is all. Now, I like the FoC designs, a lot. The games were great, the designs were great. All I'm saying is, the Dinbots I want aren't the FoC ones. They're not the kind of CHUG I'm looking for.
And I also think CHUG is more based in the G1 stuff.
Vulcan? 100$? Where? I only find him for average 150$ at lowest.
FT Grimlock is looking good, but I'm still on the fence since no colors have been attempted, so I might opt for KO Grimlock with the comic colors.
>What is quality
>What is parts count
>What is die-cast
>What are paint applications
>What is RoM and poseability afforded by aforementioned parts count
If you can't appreciate the difference between a $20 Hasbro devastator limb and a $100 MMC Feral Rex limb you really shouldn't be in the third party toy hobby.
>trying to justify the exorbitant costs
I mean, it's a collector thing. Of course it's going to be overpriced. It's a hobby, it appeals to people in a hobby, it's a niche market. Same as shit like Warhammer mini's, which are also hilariously overpriced hunks of plastic.
But shit, theres far more complex things out there in the real world than a toy made of plastic, that go for less.
Of course it's a niche market. Third party companies know they can charge out the ass for this stuff.
I just can't stand sour grape poorfags who act like 100 dollars on a single, quality piece is something absurd when they blow the same money on a ramshackle hasblow CW combiner that looks, plays, and poses like hot garbage.
"Poorfag" isn't even accurate. There's people in the official TF thread that have +30 strong CW combiner displays that are worth more than my entire collection. That's fine with me. If people want to spend money on that shit then it's cool, your cash. But in the next breath they'll take halfhearted stabs at 3rd party companies charge 70 bucks for something like Commodus or Sigma.
Quantity>Quality is the prevailing attitude that I don't quite get with 3rd party haters. They'd rather have three shit toys than one really good one.
>What is quality
alot of these things break
>What is parts count
lots of toys out there have more parts but cost less
I can make similar arguments for your other points.
These things cost alot because their runs are limited. There are alot of great 3P toys, but quit pretending they're the best toys ever
>alot of these things break
Anything can break. Plenty of 'things' break. But on average a quality 3rd party figure will survive more drops than a hasbro figure of equitable size because of quality construction.
>lots of toys out there have more parts but cost less
Do they transform in an intricate way while also being good looking vehicles and robots?
Limited runs is a fact of life with these things, sure. But it's not the sole reason they're expensive. Quit equating MP/3rd party toys to Hasbro garbage please. You reek of plebian when you do so.
Apparently MM drum will be electronic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baZwf1OXfrc&feature=youtu.be
I still feel it's immensely lazy to just have combiner kibble with no other purpose. I'm fine with it being a separate piece from the figures, but it should turn into a weapon or a construction piece. I'd even be fine if it turned into some sort of porta potty, construction sites always have those.
I never really liked that logic. It feels like making excuses to me. If the only mode people cared about was the combined form, what's the point in even making the individual robots? Just make a Devastator action figure with high articulation.
If you're going to go through the trouble of engineering the robots and vehicles. You can afford to put a little extra time on being able to turn the forearms into a box with a port at the end for sticking things onto.
>CW Silverbolt's robot mode folds up under his jet mode: people lose their shit
>TFC Hellbat does the same thing: OMG, such a masterpiece, Hasbro BTFO!
This is gonna be fun.
I think one or two things TFC Hellbat's got going for him is the level of complexity with the transformation, the level of detail, as well as the fact that the robot mode doesn't stick out too much while in vehicle mode.
I love the HasTak Silverbolt as much as the next guy, but I think it's fair to say his robot mode sticks out in vehicle mode like a sore thumb.
>just got Evil Lord
>Trying to follow directions for Base Mode
>accidentally clipped jet nosecone on backwards
>absolutely no way to remove it
I'm going to have to return this thing or something. It's not broken but there's no way to remove the nosecone without breaking that little clip unless you can get the kind of leverage the directions ask for.
Why didn't they just use a 3mm post or something? Why use a clip?
>Toyworld will make the hugest, but will contend with previous reputations for fucking up combiners
>Generation Toy will swing out hard with really quality figures at the same pricepoint while only slightly smaller, but are new and people are skeptical.
My money is on GT personally.
It's really not. It's fucking awful. There's no reason for this part to be designed like this.
This is only my second 3P, too. And my Miko came broken out-of-the-box and had to be returned.
As is the same with cars, guns, or any other piece of machinery. There's a balance between three-step CW Devy limb transformations and something like Evila Star levels of panel nightmare.
I love complex transformations. Complex doesn't necessarily equate fiddly or fragile in the same way simple doesn't equate reliability.
>This is only my second 3P, too.
I am sorry, I know it's really not funny, especially if this is only your 2nd time with a 3rd party figure. I would take pics and send an email to whoever you purchased it from.
I have Evil Lord and he is a great figure, don't give up on him yet.
I apologize for infringing upon your relative contextual understanding of "slightly".
I did the exact same thing with mine. You just have to fiddle with it and it will come off eventually.
I finally had to wedge it off with a screwdriver. It's loose as shit now but at least it isn't horrifying to pop off anymore, and it pegs in when its in jet mode so its fine.
On the bright side, I also got Mech Ideas Piston in the same order, and he's fine save for an obnoxious back panel and smelling like grease.
He scales with the other Legends guys.
He's...okay, I guess. There's some really finnicky parts (see >>5390374) but once he's transformed he's a good figure.
Another big issue is the amount of partsforming. Overlord is always going to be a little bit partsformery by nature, but they didn't even try to limit it. There's a handful of loose parts in vehicle mode, and assembling the legs requires a bit of parts swapping. It's a very Sentai style transformation.
There's also the fact that there's several parts that just don't fit or peg in. There's a plate that technically should store on his back in robot mode, but the peg hole that holds it is split between two jointed plates so its super loose, and nothing pegs together at all in the base mode
But yeah, I could give all that a pass were it not for that dangerous c-clip. I'd probably give him a 6/10
Probably the same piss poor troll in the TFG that's trying to force "3P/MP are the same thing". I don't even know why they're trying. No ones mad, no one even cares. And it isn't even good trolling, because good trolls don't look like drooling lackwits.
The whole thing is just confusing as to why anyone would even waste the time on such poor trolling.
I think it's worth picking up both. They're two of my favorite figures.
Whatever happened to this build? I was really digging the bulky bot with dual axes and a face plate. Is he still coming out or did they retool him?
Relax dude. Third party figures come out at a pretty slow rate and they just got color pics of their Scavenger out. As far as anybody knows, nothing has changed with any of the other guys. Just be patient.
While both are pretty obvious about having a robot on their undercarriage, I'd still say Hellbat handles it a bit more cleanly. The arms are tucked much closer to the body instead of taking up almost the entire underside of the wings like most HasTak jets do. It's still not all that great though. However, the big difference in why everybody is praising it over a HasTak jetformer is because it has much better engineering in the transformation and joints that nets you a much sleeker, more articulated, poseable, and more expressive looking bot mode. At least there's a good robot mode to compensate for the lackluster alt mode whereas Silverbolt doesn't even really have that. Silverbolt was just kind of a dud overall with crap articulation and a lukewarm transformation.
See, I remember when TFC first started the 3P combiner ball really rolling, and tons of fans were screaming how Blackbird was just a robot with a jet on his back, and how when Hasbro makes the "official" Silverbolt, they'd do it so much better...
The real nice thing about Hellbat is that his jet nose splits and the whole wing assembly folds up to compact into the backpack that looks like a crumpled jet, rather than just a jet sitting on the back. The nose cone split and rotation goes a long way in accomplishing the look. Nigga still has to be an arm though so I'd forgive the undercarrage of the jet, and even then its not that bad. It's no HFTD Minewipe, but its also not CW Jets or TFC's Blackbird.
I'm really thinking about picking up my first TFC purchase since buying and them immediately selling Exgraver. Not sure if I'm sold on the whole set. The combiner be damned I really I just like the robot mode and the breastmaster. Not sure if the headsculpts are on point but they actually have personality compared to everything they've put out before.
Also did TFC back out of making the hands turn into guns? Hellbat has claw tips on his hand and it doesn't look like it folds as per the prototypes ones on Aiakos.
The feet are actually part of the leg bots on TFC Hades. At least one set of hands do turn into guns guns which is more than TFC's ever done with their combining pieces.
Kibble has come to mean any parts from one mode that appear in another mode either as a character defining design cue or entire parts with no where to go. Extra parts or Partsforming has taken the place of things that have to be taken off to complete a transformation. At least that's how I've seen it used.
Finally bought Reximus Prime and Apollyon.
Now I regret not doing this earlier with third party stuff. I'm not a 'has to be official' guy or whatever, but the quality of these things is better than anything else I've ever bought before for transformers.
oversized grimlock is a fucking MONSTER and weighs like 4 pounds and has more metal parts than the MP.
Apollyon is retardedly good engineering for 150 bucks. all the thin parts I heard about are goddamned metal and you have to be retarded to break that. fucking amazing, so glad I never bought MP megatron - though I don't think many people ever did in the first place.
what other must-have 3rd parties are there? I know the list won't be as definitive as the one going in the official transformers thread, but there have to be gems like apollyon and reximus prime that just stand out and put hastak to shame.
Fansproject's Function X line is very quality and relatively cheap.
MMC's Commodus is very good and recent at 80 bucks.
Knight Morpher Annihilator is awesome.
Fans toys quakewave is pretty tremendous although MP Shockwave is in the works
those all look awesome. too bad I have no shelf space and my wife took the display cabinet for our wedding photos.
crap, those dinobots are sexy as fuck. love soar in particular but don't have any goddamned space!
>what other must-have 3rd parties are there?
Anything by MMC or fanstoys is gonna be good.
Iron factory makes really fucn little legends scale figs.
Generation toy has some killer constructicons coming out.
I'd personally wait on the Fanstoys version, but to each his own.
I don't own anything myself yet, but from what I've been seeing in terms of general opinion by Anon's and reviewers is most of the MMC stuff is good, a lot of Iron Factory stuff is if you want Legends scale.
Speaking of MMC, anyone got any pics/personal experience with Feral Rex and his individual bots? Been looking pretty hard at them, and around $600 is a lot of fucking money...
>because it was smaller
Are you retarded? Hercules was already too big. Voyager Constructicons (or any combiner limbs for that matter) are too big. Let's not forget TFC's shitty design aesthetic.
>ones to completely avoid, like the ones that are irredeemable messes?
Only one that comes to mind for me is Mega Steel Granville. Im sure there are other though, probably older releases.
Now-a-days most 3rd party stuff is pretty solid man.
+He's wonderfully well constructed
+Green and purple is spot on
+He's very poseable for something so bulky
+Alt mode is not a throwaway
+Nothing feels compromised for the combiner limb
+Nice and weighty
+Good ankle tilt on combiner limb
-There's a lot of wiggle between ratchets on the hips (Friction on the outwards movements is just fine). Supposedly the parts kit that comes with Mixing Truck fixes this but I don't have that.
-His hands are scary as fuck to get to click out
-I don't like the spring loaded hands to begin with
-You need Shaniqua nails or a tool to free up the ankle tilt in foot mode
I think he's pretty freaking spectacular. 9/10 I'm curious to see if Toyworld can compete.
>MT is the way to go for Reflector.
That hot opinion.
Yeah, see, the thing is, people usually aren't buying 3P stuff for some wankers vision of what they want a figure to be. Thats why 3P companies keep shitting out "more G1" versions of figures no one bought to fix the non-G1 aspects of them. They're buying it in an attempt to basically get a Masterpiece (insert character name here) or updated high quality version of (character name here).
So G1 accuracy is usually a big deal.
>the salty geewannur bitterly dismisses everything post 86
>When his objectively superior opinions are mocked all he can muster is "umad"
Go to bed grandpa. IDW designs can be good too.
He's 7" tall. This matches with Warbatron's bruticus witch is the biggest 3p combiner to date I believe. The only thing bigger is Hasbro's giant turd and the as-of-yet released Toyworld bots.
>Yeah, see, the thing is, people usually aren't buying 3P stuff for some wankers vision of what they want a figure to be.
I'll take MMC for 1000 alex.
Seriously though, mmc gets voted best company of the year every year on tfw, they pretty much only do idw designs.
You're understanding of relative is stupid as well.
Saying 15" is only slightly shorter than 20" in a relative scale is like saying someone 4.5 feet tall is only slightly shorter than someone 6 foot tall.
Too small relative to what? Are you holding out for Toyworld's line or did you actually think Hasbro was going to deliver on a quality product? I guess you could always wait for some MP contructicons.
Notice how I said "smaller" and not "shorter". So technically the only place I was wrong was wrongly saying t that GT's devastator isn't actually seemingly bulkier than Toyworld's. TW's not devastator looks pretty lanky. So on an absolutely technical level I am perfectly within my right to misspeak about hight/mass differentials.
Also, you usage of the wrong "your" is baffling. Kill yourself.
Also, "lrn2english" is a niggerism of the highest degree. Don't expose that garbage in my thread, on my board, on my site and using my internet.
See? I can be picky and autistic too.
>1)Here's a design.
>2)This design is wrong.
>1)Opinions are not facts.
What's stupid is not to realize that not everyone collects for the same reason. I collect Transformers to recreate the cartoon I watched and liked when I was a kid, I don't care about what came after and to be honest, that's a relief since I'm already collecting so many stuff.
>I don't care about what came after
All i'm saying is it's a weird mentality
there will definitely be at least one non-MP design that you like, and to close yourself off from that is foolish to me
I love the cartoon as much as a person who didnt grow up with G1 can, but I buy anything that I think looks cool.
I grew up with Beast Wars, and if there were a bunch of BW MPs, I wouldnt just buy those.
If a person likes a certain food, they shouldnt just eat that food in its purest form, they should eat stuff that had that food IN it, you know?
>If a person likes a certain food, they shouldnt just eat that food in its purest form, they should eat stuff that had that food IN it, you know?
Not really. They should eat what they want to eat and not listen to what others think they should eat. Which is exactly what most people do but for some reason, people here always try to force their opinions down other people's throats. Everyone that's not you know better than you what makes them happy.
>RoTF leader Jetfire was such a cluttered robot-under-plane PoS.
>It really made me want a good SR-71 transformer though
>No third party would dare make a modern movie toy since collecters generally hate movieverse shit
Would you pay 100-150 dollars for a donut steel OC SR-71 transformer?
I think the only one right now is Fansproject Warbot Defender, but it's come to the general consensus that the Hasbro Generations Springer is far better, as Defender is a bit dated now.
>whats the best springer I can get
>official springer is the best
>hurr no wun wants dat
You know you can buy anything you want as long as it's good, right? Being one or the other doesn't mean shit because anyone can put out both a good product and a shit one?
>a bare cheap plastic baby toy.
You seriously think this ugly chunk of stupid...
looks better than this? Man, you have some awful taste.
I know this is a third party thread but this mold is universally praised for its design and engineering and Warbot Defender is largely recognized as a clusterfuck with issues thanks to the poor use of di-cast. Hasbro doesn't always serve up winners but Generations Springer knocked it out of the fucking park.
Yes, alright, cute. You fell into the trap of being suckered in by something that photos well.
But how is it in-hand? I guarantee you that Defender is ten times the toy that spindly piece of shit is. He also has more than one gigantic cartoon gun, die-cast, and actual build quality.
Sorry, but if you'd ever actually bought a 3p figure you'd know that Hasbro shit just doesn't cut it. It's a toy for kids, not something that appeals to collectors in the slightest.
Now go back to /poorfag/
Gemerations Springer is pretty damn neat inhand, Easily one of the best TFs out there. I'm fiddling with him right now, and he's very dynamic,
