They're out at some Toys R Us but the street date is Jan 1st supposedly.
will this also be available on the day of 1, so that i may buy it at that time?
They lost it late last year. They were originally supposed to be in Dimensions, but then Nick moved the license to Mega.
I feel like Viacom just wants all of their properties under one roof, what with Spongebob already being there.
Here's how big Krang is.
I think the set is $35 retail.
I think they just lack elbows. Someone on the technodrome added elbows to Tigerclaw with parts from a halo figure? Also the single pack '88 turtles are like the figuarts and are based off the official art which is why they have the green shells. I think the Krang set and whatever set that comes out down the line will have something closer to the original toon.
Just depends. Probably should've phrased it better. IF it had mikey I'd have no issue buying the set cause I get my favorite turtle plus krang, but without mikey it makes me not as interested for the set in general especially when I can buy mikey and the rest by themselves. I know. Its stupid, but it's 35 for a set that doesn't have my favorite turtle as compared to whatever the single figures will be.
I made a thread about a metroid haul I did at toys r us
I saw the blind bags, it was the perfect christmas gift, I had checked the codes and got them all, once I got to cash all fucking stoke as shit to have metroid and some new blind bags they said they couldnt sell it to me
i was a little sad, but new years, the day after im getting the fuck over there.
Got some of the army builders in tonight at my Wal-Mart, classic bebop and rocksteady look really good for the size, they almost have better paint aps than the damn playmates classics.
Bzzzt, they won't even ring up. At all.
>holds up the line
>not going to customer service or going on a slow day
If you know you're going to be asking for something out of the ordinary, be extra courteous. Being patient is also a good thing, but I'm not going to advocate it simply because A) they're the ones who goofed, B) better that it sell instead of some Hot Wheels box slasher getting snatch-happy, C) just asking never hurts anyone.
If it doesn't work, just take the 'no' and come back when it's due out, and be happy that the staff at your particular TRU are willing to hold the line.
Speaking of mega bloks, these terminator sets are cheap as shit and I'm thinking of picking one up just because it looks cool, anyone have one?
And I'm saying 'if you want to go back for them now, here's a game plan'. I agree that there are bad customers out there who make the experience awful for everyone else by making demands that are illogical, against policy, or even illegal. And asking 'someone walking around' isn't going to help anyone, unless the person actually has the will to take the offending product off the floor.
Go to customer service instead, that's what they're there for, to provide information to you. Just keep in mind that they're dealing with a shit-ton of shady gift returns and are probably burnt out from it.
You're still using dot codes on the Lego minifigs? They started actually randomizing those back in the 3rd or 4th series from 2011. When it comes to CMFs, your best bet is to feel for specific pieces in order to identify the one you want.
The metallic outer shell, and a little plastic section inside to help it attach to the turtle body easily.
Also, minifig build diagram.
i examined a box of the blind bags at TRU and bought the full set. I posted the codes on thetechnodrome forums. here they are: A05105MM - Kraang droid [Common]
A30095MM - Shredder Hologram [Ultra Rare]
A29095MM - Michelangelo [Rare]
A26095MM - Raphael [Common]
A06105MM - Foot Soldier [Common]
A07105MM - Foot Soldier (robotic w/ 4 arms) [Secret Rare]
A24095MM - Donatello [Common]
A25095MM - Leonardo [Rare]
I'm not an autist.
Ok, well I am.
But I don't want to cause trouble for anyone.
I'm very zen.
It was good for a preview though.
I know the codes already but I felt them all 'cause it's the whole romance of blind bags.
Feel before you see, anyways, bummer.
I felt like it was a tactic though, to show you something you can't buy so you come back after holidays because you saw something you liked. I noticed TMNT was selling hardcore like Star Wars.
MB does it nice.
well my local TRU was selling them as of Christmas eve. That's when I bought a bunch of them. They were making a store policy to override all Jan 1st dates. I can't tell you why they did this, but I was thankful. Most stores will have them jan 1st yes. Wherever you usually find your mega bloks at. TRU is usually best.
The kid was sitting on the robin so he's a little lopsided.
Idk they're neat. Way more basic than I'd like, but I have a desk job so these will go great on my desk. I got them just because I like Terry/Tim and Flash. I probably won't get anymore unless they make Deathstroke and Shazam.
This is what I used. Found it on YouTube when I saw them in store. The codes are on the bottom left of the back of the bag.
The translucent is probably to homage his camo ability. Of course the demo for these won't have a fucking clue since Beyond hasn't been television relevant since that one episode of JLU years ago.
>Beyond hasn't been television relevant since that one episode of JLU years ago
you mean that episode where it came out that Terry was Bruce's son because of some goofy genetic alteration bullshit, all because Bruce Timm is too retarded to understand what recessive genes are?
Yeah... those of us with brains prefer to pretend that never happened, because it was goddamned stupid.
>Yeah... those of us with brains prefer to pretend that never happened, because it was goddamned stupid.
We can ignore it all we want, but it's canon and set in stone. If someone tries to retcon it, it'll just be an alternate universe story
Yeah that one. At least it wrapped up the show proper (i believe the last BB episode was the one with the kid talkmb chemicals to beat up his bullies) and gave an idea of the future JL. That aspect was neat.
I really like the eyes on these. i got the whole set as far as I know.
Classic singles at TRU are $7.99 and the Bebop & Rocksteady villain packs going for $15.99. I haven't seen any of the Classic sets outside of TRU yet but they usually get a month head start on everybody else.
They are painted onto the bandanna, But I am comparing them only to the classic ones that I bought. If you look at the close up of the classic one the bandanna has holes and the face has white eyes.
It doesn't seem to be the case for every Nick turtle, though. It looks like there are bandannas with holes, as well as printed-on bandannas (probably to emulate the anime emoting eyes the show does sometimes).
Could you open up the rest of the blindbags to compare their eyes, please?
I think the ones in the Krang sets are darker? Also they mixed around faces. Raph has single pack Don's face, but angry eyes mask. Leo has single pack's Raph's sneer.
Guess I might buy their single packs down the line.
Donnie and Mikey are a very bright green.
All the classic turtles sets are up on toysrus.com
All four turtles, bebop, rocksteady, and 6 foot clan soldiers can be had for around $64 shipped.
Plus they all come with little mini dioramas.
Hm. The set minifigs definitely have toned-down colors compared to the singles.
Are there any Classic sets with Don and Mikey yet, to compare? It looks like the set figs have the same skintone.
This one would be good for a valentines day gift ;)
I prefer the bandannas this way. All the new classic series use this style.
Ah, that's interesting to know. I definitely prefer the muted colors so I may skip out on the single figure sets and hope darker Mikey and Donnie are in a set down the line. Now I can get the krang set and not have to worry about doubling up on the turtles at least.
You can take the bandanas off of all of them. All of them besides Leo have no painted eyes underneath. Leo is the only one with painted eyes. I am not sure what the canister is, but Raph has some on his shell and I assume he drank some of it and caused his eyes to become red. Maybe hot sauce?
All of the Nick TMNT figures (turtles, Foot, mutants) lack elbows, while all of the Classic TMNT figs have them.
It seems to be a standard practice with Mega Bloks: kid lines limit articulation, while collector-oriented lines don't.
(Pic related is not a size comparison. I don't know how they compare size-wise)
>same color skin
>different skin colors like the toys
We're never getting anything from the superior 2003 show, right? Seeing it gets constantly shitted on just because it's not the shitty 1987 one that all the nostalgiafags controlling the media love?
For a long time, it was the only brickbuilt TMNT we had.
No the singles are all a uniform skin color so you can swap heads for different expressions.
I think the sets are the same, but they follow the cartoon colors more?
Well of course, how else would they get nostalgiafags interested?
I just groped for these because stores all have different batches with different codes.
At least Leo has a mask with eye holes and painted eyes in this series...
Walmart, I have the wrappers still. The codes are like barely visible.
Leo was kinda hard to find for me since I was trying to feel for the katana or book. The Katana is also an accessory the foot soldier comes with, but their bags obviously have a lot less stuff in them.
I'm conflicted. I grew up with the original turtles, but their cartoon did not age well and stuff for my age group is so oversaturated with those stupid goofy faces and it gets old. I think the 2012 turtles are the best representation yet
Now the conflicting part is that obviously the minifigs of the classics are better done than the new version. I really want to get the classics because they look like awesome figures, but Geeze I don't know if I can deal with more of that marketing style design of them with the bright colors and stupid faces.
He's the favorite now also.
I found the sets for the younger kids, the $10 Nick sets, and krangs rampage. I didn't get any. $35 seems like a lot for a small figure build and the mikey $10 set had weird spray paint on his design.
I understand that you feel the old series wasn't actually all that great, but I'm confused about your apprehension with getting the classic packs. Yeah they're round and brightly-colored and maybe a little goofy-looking, but that won't keep them from being good figures.
And even the Nick TMNT, your favorite incarnation, gets bright and goofy half of the time.
You should go get that classic Mikey pack and see how you feel about it. Even if you end up not liking it, it'll only be 8 USD.
WHY IS THAT SO FUCKING CUTE
LOOK AT LITTLE FUCKING KRANG
LOOKS LIKE PHLEGM
Again it's the overuse of them. Everywhere. They use the same goofy faces everywhere and it's exhausting. I get it. You slap the old turtles on a shirt or a cup and nostalgiafags will eat it up. Doesn't matter what you put, but fucking a it's getting old seeing them. Especially when you can tell they just color swap masks most of the time. I just have a distaste for the old toon. I respect what it did, but it's still a pretty bad series. Same goes for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
My hesitation is because these minifigures look awesome and im never one to turn away from great figures, but they're the classic turtles. On one hand the figures are great on the other they're not an incarnation I like.
I agree with anon, that Kraang is cute as fuck.
Do you have the Lego Kraang too?
I wish. I have no TMNT lego but that is because I never see it, and when i do there is no Raph, I only buy if I can get Raph. I dont really follow new TMNT but I like the old comics and they all wore red.
ok like listen to me
look at the lego krang
the playmates krang
he looked miserable and angsty but it doesnt matter
its the fact this mb krang has next to no detail, stubby fucking arms instead of tentacles
im not one to find shit cute or trip on anything
but this is just FUCKING me up
i want to chew on it like gum
is it hard like pvc or whatever
i might buy two, one so i can chew this little fucking piece of shit
Found the blind bags today, the codes were a bitch to find, on the back on the bottom left. Used them and managed to get all 8, the weapons work with Call of Duty figures, so I may go back and get a few more Leonardo for some more swords.
Someone at Warlmart made a touch choice today.
US Wal-mart codes courtesy Turtlederb on The Technodrome forums!
Don's is a bit confusing- package #- A29075mm block #-A07085
My camera's being a bit of a potato tonight, but here's the four turtles, Bebop, Rocksteady, and the 6 Foot Soldiers.
Closer image of Bebop, Rocksteady, and Foot Soldier.
They don't have as much articulation as the Turtles do, but then again they're immediately compatible with the Halo/AssCreed/CoD lines if you want to part-swap.
Bought it on a whim in store, it's all over the place in terms of scale. It's made for those Jazwares NBA figures pretty much no one bought.
Welcome to the Jam, I guess.
No differences with the rerelease, but the 80s toon versions have different paint apps with pupils and colored pads.
I'd like to see the heads swapped from these with the original versions. It would make the new deco figures look more like the original 84 figures, and the original deco figures look more cartoon accurate.
Oh hey, I just realized that the undersized basic mutants would scale much better with those MB minifigs.
Anyone have them and a Snakeweed or something?
Yeah the codes are kinda unreliable unless someone is bored enough to make a comprehensive code sheet of every variation of each code.
Went ahead and grabbed Raph, Mikey, and Kraangdroid to go with Donnie and Leo. Raph was oddly the hardest one to feel out for some odd reason. I needed to feel a sai to verify it was him.
I don't have Snakeweed, but I could try Slash and Leatherhead or something later.
Fuck you god damn assholes. I just shelled out $90 for the krang set, single pack donny, single pack mike, the rocksteady set and the bebop set.
I almost fell to it too. Almost spent $80 for all the singles classics, bebop and rocksteady, and training nick mikey. I couldn't justify it. Ended up just getting blind bag mikey and classic mikey. I might pick up one classic a week or something so it doesn't feel like it's taking everything. At least I was able to get my favorites. I live and die by mikey. He my boy.
See the pupils are supposed to be looking up.
Here's a comparison of mini Mikeys. I sadly don't own the Minimates. I really should have grabbed the one with Casey and ICK.
It a remold of a TMNT minifigure, it came in a 4 pack with TMNT 2003 style packaging.
It comes from a tsum tsum blind bag from Target.
It's easy to feel.
>do you get Lego?
Different anon, but yes. They do.
Because we're inferior people I guess.
And also because these turtle figs are neat.
The turtle figs have different tiers of shitness. The collector series are very very nice. IMO. The blind bags, the ones in the sets, and the collectors are all different...That is how you get people to buy them. There is something for everyone's price point. One thing I like about Mega bloks is that they don't make a lot of custom pieces. Now some would say that makes them suck more. I think that makes their builds more of a building experience. With lego you clip this big element on and then attach this other big custom element, but most all mega bloks have you painstakingly build it brick by brick. This is mainly for licensed stuff and excludes the creator stuffs from lego.
>you clip this big element on and then attach this other big custom element
Honestly, I hear this complaint aimed at Mega Bloks too.
When it comes to Lego, I don't really see much of the big custom elements that people mention. Plenty of custom minifig accessories, sure, but a good majority of the parts library is functional. Sometimes the licensed sets are even more complicated than the original sets, simply because they have to copy existing complex shapes.
The rocket is a pretty fun accessory.
I tried looking on ebay, but they are always expensive.
Every medium size superhero set has big custom pieces, and most licensed stuff by both companies has custom pieces. Lego has done it more than megabloks in the past, but now it looks like they both do it.
Those blind bags were a pain
All kinds of different codes
I really wanted KRang. And I knew as soon as I squished him it was him
I got the turtles.
I'll open when I get home and let you fucks know what's good
nice. after going to multiple stores and just checking the bags I have seen many different codes. Maybe it is is coded per case, or even box...here are my hand written notes on the coeds.
Hope these can help someone get a full set.
I mostly just like the articulated minifigures. Like, the LEGO Minifig is obviously the GOAT building block figure and everyone else mostly has pale imitations of theirs. So it's cool that for most of their sets Mega's not really doing that anymore and has started doing their own thing instead with great results.
Is there any news about a Classic Toon Party Wagon? Kind of hoping we get one along with an April minifig.
I really want a reprint of the original, I know they did one but it's so rare that the price just doesn't work for me. I bought a pop Party wagon as a replacement but it's not quite the same.
It is one color plastic and a gummy bear... not the same production as a neca figure. Go buy a fuking krang and compare it to a neca and say these take about the same to make thats why they cost the same....
They wouldnt sell as much if it was the other way around. Unless there were more black people in Canada. Do you think when africans go to the store and see there african black man toys they say, "oh you know what, ther eare not as many white figures, SJW africcaaa". No they dont...it only happens in the U.S. Policitcal correctness is a form of thought and speech control. Don't be a pussy and don't be PC
That's the 2012 Nick Version
I will post on this thread because i dont want to make a new thread about something so pointless
But i Saw this Bob sponge megabloks figures.
And even if i dont care or feel about collecting stuff about it.
I saw it when i was younger, but i never liked it that much to get nostalgic.
But this figures look really good, i mean, it look pretty much like the characters and they look good.
It make me want that Megabloks made a ton of other cartoon lines, like making tons of other Cartoon Network characters on Megabloks style.
or something like that.
The ones in the boxes are usually nicer than the blind bag ones. How much are those? I got the new boxed turtle ones that say collector series and I might take them back. They where 7.99 each and I got the four turtles and I am sitting hear trying to figure out if they are even worth it....
Just do what I did and get your favorite. I have mikey and I'm perfectly fine. I might get some more of the blind bag ones. I have that mikey also and he's fun. I MIGHT get Bebop and Rocksteady because they look like cool figures and come with a lot in the set.
well there would be tax. I paid my local sales tax and I would tax you a little...I had to go get it and all that good stuff. I am not sure I am willing to do it yet, and it would be done on ebay it would not be a private thing. I have your email noted and I will sleep on it. I will message you or post on here.
Yeah. They had some concepts at SDCC. They were seeing if there was any interest.
What's the deal with this guy? Found one and only one out the 4 stores I went to. The other 3 were stocked at least five each.
because he is the best turtle. Objective truth
>Again it's the overuse of them. Everywhere. They use the same ______ everywhere and it's exhausting. I get it. You slap ______ on a shirt or a cup and nostalgiafags will eat it up. Doesn't matter what you put, but fucking a it's getting old seeing them.
Welcome to consumerism.
