Ok, I'm not the normal guy for this so I just copied everything from the last thread and changed a few since I know those were released. I probably missed something but oh well.
it should be exactly the same with a slightly different paint job, unless they include an unmasked or damaged head.
Sorry guys, I was away for weekend, didn't have my computer. I did the thing, though.

well they don't have it listed under kinnikuman then because this is what comes up when I search. Thanks for the link though.
they don't really back up on amiami at release but they do appear back in stock for a short amount of time a few days before release
they do go back up on hlj if people cancelled preorders as well
the same goes for hobby search as well but they aren't at a sale price like hlj and amiami are
>Missed First Order Stormtrooper and Shadow Trooper on Manda twice in the last two days
I am not happy about this.
I got both of those FO Troopers. I have become your nemesis, it appears.
I mean, for not coming with a lot of flashy accessories, cap came with a fair amount of actual plastic. A lot of it was just stuff to make the shield work, but his section in my small parts bin is one of the fuller ones. The only thing I'd really like to see in a rerelease that'd make sense might be something like a ricochet effect part.
Hey man its all in the game but its the shadow trooper that burns the most, I at least have a FO trooper coming from HLJ but you can't have only one Stormie so I either have to hunt one done or settle for Black Series.
Doing you a favor, here's all the SW Figuarts awaiting formal announcement:
Battle Droid (Geonosis Color)

When's the next time Figuarts is going to reveal figures? I need Figuarts of these guys.
>they do appear back in stock for a short amount of time a few days before release
Are Amiami required to keep a few spares out of legal obligation or just to make some last minute sales? I doubt cancellations are common due to their (in)famous order policies.
Yep, better get your Kylo Rens while they're...hot..?
What are the chances that the New Order Stormtrooper goes back in stock? Do these things generally get re-stocked sporadically or should I just bite the bullet and buy it for double the price from people reselling them?
Finally got Cap after 36 missed in stock email from mandy.
I bought an American flag just for this photo. Totally worth it.
Does anyone have any guides on how to replace Kylo's plastic skirts with cloth ones? I totally missed the 2chan Kylo thread so I didn't see if they had any pics on how they did it or how it looks.
That time again, get that Kylo while he's hot
based anon. let's just hope i get a payment request

S.H.Figuarts - Kylo Ren "Star Wars: The Force Awakens"(Released)
Unit price 4,730 JPY x 1 unit(s) = 4,730 JPY
Don't think so. I have the mafex and his cape is really nice, and it has a bendy wire sewn into the edge. That seems to be custom. You can see the marks from the end of the fabric they bought.
The figuarts Vader is quite a bit shorter than you'd like, especially since vader was pretty tall. The mafex is a good height for black series, etc. Both are good. I'm working to get the figuarts one now to go with my figuarts better.
If you like the look of the Figuarts, I think it's something you can overlook pretty easily. Should it be a taller, more imposing figure? Yes, definitely. Does it make Vader look completely off in relation to other Figuarts? Eh, not really.
I realize my comparison photo here ain't the best, with everyone facing a different angle, but it does accurately reflect each figure's relative height. Vader is noticeably taller than the Clone, while being just a smidgen taller than the Roger Roger (note that the droid has his legs the least spread apart out of all three figures due to its design, which does grant him a little bit of additional height). Again, Vader should be taller and larger, but I think he still looks good relative to other Figuarts.
My main issue with Vader is his cape. It looks cool (though it doesn't sit as nicely as I'd like around his neck), but to have absolutely no articulation whatsoever kinda stinks, especially with the cape molded in such a dynamic way. Bandai has done pose-able plastic capes before and since, so it's not like they don't know how to do it.
Ah well, I still like it and can recommend it to people who like the look. Doubly worth it if you can get the 1st release display stand!
If you pull Vader's leg joints downward at the hips he should be a head taller than Maul
I opted the Mafex since I'm mix-matching him with my model kit Stormtoopers, Black Series and other figurarts.
I also came to the decision after seeing how "static" the cape was (as in it's always swaying to the left and just looks wrong in neutral poses).
Sailor Moon figuart took a dive and now one of her twin tails came off.
Anyone ever glue parts back onto figures?
First time Figuarts buyer here and I have a couple of questions.
As a buyer in the US, what are the best sites to buy from?
Mandarake, AmiAmi, HLJ, and Amazon?
Do figures get rereleased ofter? Looking to buy Sailor Jupiter, but her price seems to be higher than other Sailor Moon figures or she's just out of stock. Should I just pay the higher price?
Right now, just Sailor Moon, but that will probably just open the floodgates to a whole bunch of stuff. Didn't even think to check BBTS. I'll keep an eye out there.
I ordered the first five Sailor Scouts from Amazon a fee weeks back for pretty cheap (around $25 each), but my order for Sailor Jupiter was canceled due to being out of stock.
OK so as a novice to this, who do I have to let rape me to get a Black Lady?
I managed to get all the other Sailors including Pluto and Chibiusa. But if I miss out on Black Lady I will kill myself and take the whole human race down with me. The fuckery with Pluto was never really explained to my satisfaction (she was supposedly pre-order only and only offered in Japan direct from Bandai or some shit, I got her through a seller on eBay in Chiba who I had to communicate to via Twitter about it, not fun).
Black Lady isn't even available for preorder yet so just lurk more and wait for more info on when she will be released, we will probably get a release date on winter wonfes.
Do be careful in buying S.H. Figuarts of the Sailor Moon line as there are bootlegs that exist for them.
oh well if its kawaii you're going for then you're still beat
Just got in my FO Stormtroopers and I love them!
Question is, are the Clonetroopers as bad as people make them out to be? Like, are their legs really THAT limited?
>Got Echo in
>Right hip is super duper tight for some reason
>Take her apart to see what's up
>Left hip peg is cracked all the way up to the base
>It's putting pressure on the right peg so it can't move
>Looks like it's gonna snap off at any time
Fuck. Does Bandai do the same thing GSC does and send replacement parts?
Mine came with a miscast wrist joint. I think I've fixed it for the most part, but does anyone know if it's possible to obtain replacement Figuarts wrist pegs?
They should start including some spares like Hot Toys do.
It's definitely possible to get the poses you want from the Clonetrooper but it take a lot of effort getting there.
It's not a bad figure by any means but you get the feeling that Bandai could have done so much more with it if they tried (or at least made it easier to pose).
I didn't even realize the Clones were considered bad, I love mine. The legs are quite limited in their forward motion due to the design of the thigh armor, and Bandai definitely ought to have added drop-down hip joints to alleviate this. Moving the leg in other directions is fine.
Still, the sculpt and proportions look wonderful to me, and aside from the leg limitations the articulation is solid. If you like Clones I think you'd like the Figuarts.
Yes, in order to get a straight kick you would need to use the thigh twist to get the tip of the thigh armor out of the way. You can kinda get a rider kick pose, but it won't be the greatest rendition.
I too love my clonetroopers, I picked up two and very much like how they look.
It is a shame about the limited articulation in elbows and hip, but I did they did a good job making them look how they were supposed to.
Looking forward to getting my new Stormtroopers in now, even preordered the shock trooper, and will likely be getting the heavy trooper as well
Well, as much as I love the Black Series TIE, I do think the MSRP is too high. I paid $113 + tax for mine and at that price I can wholly recommend picking it up (it's huge and looks totally rad!), but at $170 I would advise against it (when you get right down to it, it's a fairly simplistic toy with no electronics or gimmicks). Definitely try to wait for a sale of some kind before grabbing one.
Me too! I should hopefully be receiving at least one later this week. The FO Troopers look to have none of the articulation troubles of the Clones thanks to their more practical armor designs. A great side benefit of the fact that the FO Trooper armor was actually designed to be worn, whereas every single armored Clone you see in the prequel movies was CG, haha.
>whereas every single armored Clone you see in the prequel movies was CG, haha.
That shouldn't have stopped Bandai adjusting the forearm armor just slightly to give the trooper a much improved range of articulation in the elbow, or including the pull down hips they use on other figures.
Nice looking figures but such a disappointment overall.
I've noticed the Akibaranger figures pop up constantly on Mandarake for basically pennies, and they seem to have black wrist pegs. If someone here could confirm to me whether or not they're the same as the ones on the FO Stormtrooper, I'd be extremely grateful.
it seems we have our answer about how many troopers we need for our displays.
Oh, I agree. I wasn't saying that the Clones being CG excuses Bandai for the Figuarts' limitations, in fact I've said the exact same thing about the hips in >>5368782 (don't have a big issue with the elbows myself, but more range certainly would have been welcome).
Just pointing out that the FO Trooper looks unhindered in spite of Bandai using pretty much the same approach on them that they used for the Clones. In short, a great side benefit of the FO Trooper's original design, heh.
Man, they gotta hurry up and give us a date for the heavy trooper.
The FO trooper really is nice. Pretty much everything waist and up is perfect, I haven't had problems with range on any of the torso or arm joints.
The knees aren't so hot but they do the job, and the ankles are probably the most/only actually disappointing part. You can see his left foot can't quite point downwards enough to lie flat on the floor.
Also, the neck joint isn't too tall, so you've got an ok amount of flexibility when it comes to headswaps. Overall I'd give it a solid regret-not-getting-more/10
Roger Roger arrived today from mandarake. I opened it and instantly felt let down and now want to get rid of it. I thought it would be Robot Damashii-level but it's incredibly hobbled and disappointing. Not gonna say it's the worst SHF I've ever bought, but it's up there.
oh, you're the kill yourself anon from yesterday.
I don't know if its been mentioned in any of the generals yet, but I was on the sideshow collectors forum and someone mentioned that you could get the clone troopers into the forward leg crouching pose by pulling down on the thigh swivel. Tried it out and it worked fine. I'm assuming that this was intended. Of course, that doesn't help the fact that they can't shoulders their rifles at all, but the extra range in the legs made me so much happier with mine.
I figured as much. I just hate the nonstop checking to make sure I didn't miss a window. I am wise to the bootlegs, I made sure the seller is reputable, she is in Japan, and I read up on what to look out for.
Civil War's Captain America.
Thigh swivel pulled down on the left hand trooper
And another angle. Again, thighs pulled down on the left. Sorry for shitty phone camera pics. The one with the thigh pulled down looks much more natural when kneeling.
>More or less the AoU figure with a slightly remoulded outfit and better colours, and the face printing tech
So, SO glad I cancelled my preorder for all the AoU Figuarts except Mk 45.
Nothing good came out of AoU, on any front. Lamest Hulk, most useless Thor, least commanding Cap, uninspired IM armors, too much Widow, too much Hawkeye, another in a long line of toss away villains, and a bunch of contrived BS just to advance the Thanos plot.
The Mk 45 Iron Man is, visually at least, pure sex. Ultron Prime was on-point visually too even if the character was handled completely shittily.
Other than that, I completely agree. A rudderless clusterfuck of a movie, a thudding anticlimax in sharp contrast to the first.
There is a bit of play with the drop down thigh swivel on the FO troopers as well, and I find using it helps a lot with the kneeling pose just to add a bit of length and get the knee closer to the ground for stability. You also need to play with the torso a bit more to get it to look right.
I never bought the regular stormtrooper because of the helmet issues, so I'm not sure. Also, pictured is the thigh pulled down on the left. It doesn't look like a huge difference, but on the clone it makes all the difference. On the FO trooper it is so minor as to be almost pointless.
This is pulled from Amiami's site. we may be waiting until next Monday if other retailer's vacation days are the same.
>won't be Ant-Man
>won't be Spider-Man
What is this, fucking bizarro world? MAKE THE FUCKING BUGMANS!!!
>I should hopefully be receiving at least one later this week.
Speak of the devil, look who showed up (with a couple friends) woohoo! Just before I'm about to head out for lunch, dangit.
Thank you so much for the heads up on this, I definitely gotta try this later. I was wondering last night how the hell Nuu got his crouching poses in his review.
Fuck, I didn't preorder revo Ultron cause I wasn't sure which Ultron to go for and didn't realize he was out this month. Since he was already sold out on amiami I figured I should probably not take the chance and just order him on hlj. Fuck, this month has been expensive.
Here he is sitting. The leg on the left is pulled down. I then raised them both up as far as possible, still using the thigh swivel. You can see how the leg on the right has to swivel way out at an odd angle.
Same leg pulled down, this time on his back to show how high you can get the leg more or less naturally pulling it upwards with as little to no thigh swivel use on either leg.
And how much further to the side you can get the leg when dropped down. Not a lot, but still better.
>Plus, it would look really fucking bad to have the armor shoved up into the pelvis.
They have that black, padded/cloth/whatever material on their hip (the actual character design. Not the figuarts itself), so it isn't like the armored plating would get shoved up into the pelvis if they designed it right.
Most figures with that drop down leg look kind of stupid anyway, if you're just looking at them dead on, and not in a pose that hides that joint a little bit.
Kylo is never coming back up on figinstock is it bros
Civil War's Captain America includes Evans' head.
I feel like the eyes are slightly too small and the nose is slightly too big. Still nice to see, and I'm sure it will look better from afar in natural lighting.
Has a custom scarf too
Just the robe
Who exactly would that even be?
The majority of the Figuarts SW figures that have been released so far are generic, faceless troopers, and masked bad guys.
Maul? I guess. His face looked good, but he was literally an alien guy with black and dark red facepaint and weird colored eyes with horns. So you really just had to transfer that, and not so much get it exactly to the actor's likeness.
So far people have complained about practically all of the heads/faces of the normal looking heads.
These aren't the normal promo shot so maybe they're just showing off a rough first draft to gauge reaction. That is my hope at least.
JACKIE CHAN DRUNKEN MASTER FIGUARTS FUCKING WHEN?
so you want the impossible then? You want highly posable but then you want no gaps, you can't have it both ways. if you want a figure of that version of cap with no hip gaps you're gonna have to get the hottoys otherwise you're just gonna have to get past them. It works if the figure has bare legs like kinnikuman because then they can add those ass cheek hip covers to fill in the gap when the hips are moved, with clothed figures there's always a shortcoming some where.
Not impossible at all, look at the new FO stormtrooper and Awakening Goku hips. Fantastic design that allows just as much range of motion and retains proper shaping. Bandai could've put in the effort of updating the new figure, but instead repaint it, slap on a new head, and call it a day.
Man, why does the Scout trooper have to only come with the speeder?
I don't give a shit about the speeder, I just like scout troopers, they look cool as fuck.
Also, figuarts when
>take a break from /toy/ to discourage me from buying so many goddamned import figs
>apparently miss the Luke Skywalker restock
God damn it. Never gonna get him or Bruce, am I? Why does it seem like nothing gets BlueFin releases anymore?
>Why does it seem like nothing gets BlueFin releases anymore?
Last year, Diamond and some other companies were embargoing Bluefin because Bluefin was getting too good at providing the import figures Western markets wanted. Diamond seemed to be doing a pretty good job of it, I haven't seen anything if Bluefin got killed or not.
Bruce isn't even released yet, Jesus Christ.
Star Wars Figuarts will never get released via Bluefin, so just get Luke off a secondhand store, use a middleman and get him off a non-international Japanese store, etc.
Wait, how can they reveal fucking Civil War figures, when they haven't even given releases for the fucking rest of the AoU ones?
Finally got to try this out today, and anon I could kiss ya! Huge improvement to the hips' range of motion, making crouching poses a snap. Thank you again for the public service announcement.
Enjoying the hell out of the FO Stormtrooper too. Love the gloss painted finish on him, can't wait for my second one to show up. His ankle are rather limited as another anon pointed out though, and he could have used an extra accessory (pistol!). Still, a lovely figure.
Kylo is pretty rad as well, really like how the robes were done (though the Black Series' soft goods has its charms).
Just a warning to try this at your own risk. Apparently another anon tried it and fucked up his figure. My own have been fine after doing it, but I did say I wasn't sure if it was intended or not. PSA for the PSA.
>found pic related for 46 bucks at a local hobby store
Feels good man.
>people implying Cap with his helmet on doesn't look like shit always
I'm new to do this, but i found a figma captain america for only £14 ($20), anyone reckon it would be fake?
It looks like a new sculpt, though I agree it should have the Awakening Goku style hips.
Honestly it's pretty simple, at least if you don't care too much for the Black Series figure, itself. I just cut off the scarf and belt and pulled the robe off with some fiddle with the head and putting the arms up and slightly back.
I disconnected him at the waist on the figuarts, obviously, to get everything fitting nice. I trimmed the bottom afterwards with some small scissors, so the robe isn't so big, and I think it turned out pretty good.
I want to take what's left of the BS Kylo I have, now, and make a Knights of Ren custom out of him.
Be honest with me guys, is there any way to get the SHF Darth Maul at this point without paying double of what he should cost?
I saw him in a store here in Korea but it was like 90 bucks.
Should've fucking preordered.
It's pretty clearly exactly the same figure engineering-wise, they just rescultped various parts of the costume and used their new printing tech on the face.
Shame they didn't wait to release the AoU figures until they had this off the ground, but honestly I'm now glad the only one I picked up was Mk 45. Probably going to have to wait until Infinity War to get a good SHF Thor and Hulk though, sadly.
So I just noticed the FO stormtrooper's hips have this weird resistance when you move his legs outwards, almost like something is bending that's not supposed to. Sure enough, if I look at his waist, I can see the black crotchpiece in there actually flexing. How worried should I be here?
I think what is strange is his skin tolor has some tones to it and nothing on the rest of the body does. Could use a light wash. Also the middle pic has his helmet a little further and makes him look like a cone head.
Here, /toy/. I've always made the new thread when the previous one hits 300 because it starts auto-saging. It's been 300 posts for as long as I could remember, and I haven't seen any news updates.
