Just landed in Osaka and I'm already liking what I'm seeing. Hitting up every toy store on every island. Tell me what you guys want to see!
taiwan was a total bust. But Japan seems promising.
Any cool store decorations? Like drawings, customs, stuff like that
FYI, OP, remember there's two Mandarake in Osaka. I took a trip there last week. Went to Grand Chaos but completely forgot about the one in Umeda.
Also, the best station to go to for Denden town is Ebisucho.
My iPhone 5s just died, had to take pics with the shitty phone for now. There was some cool designs, I will post later. Stores close pretty early here. Will post shitty pics for now
I'm sorry all my pictures are sideways for some reason with this shitty phone. Will fix tomorrow
It's okay I'm a Baka gajin. I don't know any better
I'm really sorry about these sideways pictures guys. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know
>all those saran wrapped dreams
Which reminds me, you oughta hit the arcades and play the games that never left japan neither got a proper port. Or the ones with crazy cabinets and controls, like Virtual On or Gundam Senji no Kizuna
I hear Yamato 1/60 v2 valkyries are really cheap in Japan, and very common in collector's toy shops.
Japan is awesome. All these stores are back to back. I'm having so much fun just go to all these stores
I'll have a lot more pictures tomorrow, better quality and not sideways haha. Hitting up mandrake tomorrow can't wait. One day down 12 to go
OP please visit the Kaiyodo museum and take lots of pictures.
Also ask around too see if they have a checklist or something or all their revoltechs. There are some really obscure variants out there.
I'll see if I can make the trip. It's either a quick 50 dollar trip. Or an hour and a half subway ride with a shit ton of transfers :/
I'm debating whether or not i want to check out the evangelion exhibition in kagawa. A 60 dollar train ticket. Fuck me.
I know what you mean. These toys are everywhere. It's suffering not giving into temptation to buy something in every store I go to.
I just got on the subway. I'm on my way to mandrake right now. This is like a dream
goddamn op you lucky bastard. i'll most likely never go to japan in my life.
Where the fuck am I?! I feel like I'm Alice going down some rabbit hole
Both 16000 yen each. Didn't really care for the rebuilds though. Buts a good dealllll fuuuuck
Two floors in Osaka. It was pretty cool. I hear Tokyo mandrake is way better
Not too weird, Probably based off some Toriyama art. The world of Toriyama's covers and side-art of Dragon ball is this super chill world where everyone's always driving vintage vehicles and wearing casual clothes and being comfy.
The world of Western action figure collecting in Japan intrigues me. I've seen 2ch pics of Japanese collectors with displays of Marvel Legends and 90's Kenner/Toy Biz stuff and a few other pre-2000s toys. I wonder if the latter stuff has the same appeal as, say, kaiju vinyls or Jumbo Machinders have in the west. Now where's that trigun page where the author talks about a western style Vash toy with a necessary action feature.
What do you want anon? If I see it I'll pick it up
I'm saving my money for Tokyo. If I see something I really want I'll pick it up. This is just a fun experience
This is only 1 of like 90 other stores on my to do list
So if you want something in one of the cases and you don't speak moon, what do you do?
At that point are you SOL, or do they at least know enough English because they know some American is gonna come in and buy all their anime statues?
The d-arts of this punk if you can find him at a reasonable price.
Email's email@example.com just shoot me a message pal!
Also stay the hell away from underground malls in Japan. Sometimes there's no one there but dark hallways and empty corridors.
Creepy as fuck.
I know a little of that rising sun speak. But for the most part they speak a little engrish. At the very least you can say "sumemasen" and point o that figure. Throw in a couple hais for good measure. They love that shit
Take a whole bunch of pictures anon, I love looking at this stuff even though it makes me super jealous
>tfw I didn't even notice the GIANT FUCKING SKELEPHANT the first time I looked at the picture
Calm your shit. It was a joke. There's no rules against taking pictures at mandrake. Shouldn't you know that if you were a resident. If there was I'd gladly if told to. Also there ain't no worst of a tourist than a japanese one in other countries. You sound like one of those xenophobic japs that hate everyone that comes to japan
>6 foot 1 gaijin
>must be white
I just asked. The worker said yeah sure, just don't bother the customers or workers
I know right. I was like holy shit a fucking mammoth
There's more anon. Just wait I have too many pictures. Captcha I slowing my flow lol
