IT'S TURKEY TIME MOTHERFUCKERS!!!
What is a Nendoroid, you may ask?
Guide/Product release info found here:
Old thread is here:
Ararararagi is pretty good. Also Mayoi has that adorable faceplate
Nendoroid Super Mario is up
>4167 JPY (Before Tax)
GSC Online shop
>4500 (After Tax)
No. Just no. He shouldn't be in Nendo form, that shit just doesn't work.
On the other hand, I'm wondering if I should get the Link nendo. It doesn't look like he's going to go out of stock any day now, but considering he's a Nintendo character, I expect the demand for him to be steady.
>Also Mayoi has that adorable faceplate
It's super adorable.
Hitagi is going for $55 ish. Even after bargain binning. Shinobu is probably twice as popular as hitagi in Japan.
Nothing Shinobu bargain bins. At the least it retains its retail value.
>Nendoroid General#8 Least appreciated North American Holiday Edition
There are way less appreciated holidays than Thanksgiving. My main proof is that I can't name any of them off the top of my head, because they're that unappreciated.
Plus, I don't know what he's talking about, Thanksgiving is fucking dope. I get to chill out with my family and friends, have a delicious feast, then slowly sink into a beer and turkey-induced coma while watching movies. It's the goddamn American dream.
Can someone explain to my why Mario is 3400 on Amiami with a fuckton of accessories, and a ton of hand parts.
And Onodera is 3100 with 1 accessory and one more faceplate.
Nisekoi isn't even otaku shit. It's mainstream Shounen Jump...
All of this, and this is the first time in years that I'll have a genuine thanksgiving dinner with my extended family. Also the first time they'll all meet my wife and very likely the last time I'll see my grandmother with any kind of lucidity before the Alzheimer's fully sets in. It's going to be a memorable one to say the least.
I pity the retail workers (though they've had a full year since the last Black 7 Day Weekend to GTFO), but in the part of the service industry I work in (business hotel), we're actually the slowest during the holidays. Irrelevant to me since I'm taking paid vacation, but still.
Sorry to shitpost in your general, Nendo anons. On-topic: How is Tomoko? I haven't watched or read it, but I have a passing interest in the design and the alt faces are great.
Skip the anime, it's a mediocre retelling. Go read some of the manga. Like, right now. It's readily available on many online manga readers. Trust me, it's worth it--it's a beautiful symphony of painful awkwardness and self-loathing.
The Nendo itself is fine, nothing notable or particularly bad about it. It's all about the character really. Read the damn manga.
She's good, mostly for the crazy face though. The entire show is pretty much this image, and the manga is, like in almost every case, like the show but better.
If I make it I'll be sure to fuck this thread with Christmas.
I'm a big Thanksgiving fan. I chose that edition title because of how much it's overshadowed by Christmas despite being a great holiday itself. It may be a hyperbole, but w/e.
Mine has some QC problems which from what I heard are pretty common with her (one of the faceplates doesn't go all the way in, a few arms are a little loose).
I haven't read the manga but the anime was pretty good, her voice actor is doing a terrific job at it too. Give it a shot.
Looks like some boats
Also this is a thing, although I doubt anyone really cares.
This is probably what everyone cares about. The amount of vagina relevant Nendoroids is increasing 10 fold.
Good think I don't have a vagina.
I'll be buying her partly because she cute, but the other half is me hoping they'll make other Disney princesses besides Frozen if these sell a shitload. I'd really like to see a Belle.
Only thing I kind of don't like about the figure is this >>4527828 face. I think they put a little too much eye shadow on and the mouth looks a bit odd. Maybe it's just the lighting.
Here's another Archer shot and he's looking a lot better than I thought he would! I wasn't too happy with the changes in the figma, but I'll probably be picking this up as well.
Eh I kind of think they made her look crazy. Her eyes are too big and her mouth is too wide along with the indents at each end being too drastic.
So I ordered Nendo Link on Amazon the other day when it still said it was releasing December 29th or some shit.
Now it says it's In Stock instead of a pre-order and all mine says on the My Orders page is
>Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date.
Anyone have any idea how long this will probably take?
dafuq is that?
Whatever. I like Amazon. It's nice and clean and the free shipping means the prices even out with all the weeb stores.
The much-later release dates also makes it easier for me to plan for purchases since I have very little money to set aside for /toy/ shit.
Are these Nendos? Or are they some other brand's product line? I don't see a GSC or the Nendoroid logo... My beginner's knowledge of Moonspeak tells me that the info card says "Nanoritsuchi" Nano-research? It's not a Japanese word I'm familiar with. And the "VC!" I'm assuming is either the line or the company name? I'll do some more research.
I've had some good experiences using Amazon. I ordered twice from vendors in Japan with 100% feedback. I got a Labrys Figma for $80 shipped, and a Gahara Nendo for $60 shipped, both factory sealed. They weren't steals by any means, but they were things I really wanted that came out way before I was into collecting shit. I've had bad luck getting ripped off of Manda, so I don't go there anymore.
I might have to get those, as I really love Mitsuru and Labrys. The sound seems cool, but even if they're crappy I'd like them more than Cu Poches. They give me nightmares for some reason.
Speaking of, I know it's off topic, but has anyone picked up the Parfom Aigis?
I'm looking at Amazon...You didn't pay $55 for it, right?
as anon in >>4528517 mentioned, these are Nanorich from Griffon, you can check this listing from amiko and see the other ones that have been made
So far as I have read here and in other boards these are as good as Nendos or even Cu-poches, the bases comes can play some phrases from the character in question
I was tempted in the begining but after seeing that she was too big for a 'chibi' version of Aigis
Still she looks good with good paint finishing
maybe if one are into puure nemo doll, she would work fine in that scale/body proportions
about to buy my first nendoroid but I can't decide which, they're all just too cute...
yeah, that too, her size was what make me let her pass in the end
I paid 50, but the shipping was free.
Feel free to point out a site where shipping wouldn't bring it at least slightly close to 50.
AmiAmi for example would charge like 1200 yen for EMS shipping on the 3600 yen figure, and for a two dollar difference I'll happily go for the Amazon version.
Especially since I've had bad experiences with AmiAmi.
(Not that I'd pay that much for something like a little Nendoroid on the regular, I just really wanted that Link. None of the other Nendos interest me.)
Also don't forget that the nendoroid Lingyin Huang is up for PO
>May 2015 release
I bought him from Otaku Mode for $30 with free EMS.
When I signed up, they gave $5 in free points and I used an invite link https://otakumode.com/invite/6f5925 when signing up to get another $5 off.
They also offer free EMS shipping on new items for pre-order, so I got him for only $30 and he got here in 2-3 days.
Unfortunately, he's out of stock now, but this could help you if you plan on buying other figures. Even if you didn't have the free $10 off from signing up and the invite link, he would have only been $40 if you bought him in the first week they added him because of the free EMS shipping they offer.
The only downside is that you have to pay for pre-orders upfront. They also gave me a clear file (or whatever they're called) for free, which was pretty nice even though I have no use for it.
The box wasn't much bigger than the original packaging, but my Gahara came with free EMS. I think I remember it saying shipping was 12k JPY.
One thing I thought was really nice about ordering my Labrys from Amazon was that it was ensured for the price I payed (67k I think) instead of MSRP, which it was obviously well above. Manda would only ever ensure for MSRP when I ordered from them.
tl;dr I guess just discriminate your vendors harshly if you're buying off of an open marketplace. Not all of them are shit though.
Ya thanks. I actually saw it on Navi after looking around for a bit. Just randomly they did a full photoshoot with every piece.
The only problem is I don't want $30 worth of accessories and no one would want to participate in a split on >grouporders nor could I pawn them off on Ebay.
>"Ret itsu go!" I will make today a happy snow day! Ehehe! <3
Speaking of Yuruyuri: I'm thinking of picking up an Akari Nendo, can anyone who has one recommend/advise on if it's okay? First Nendo I've considered getting.
It looks exactly like the promo pics. If this is your first Nendo you'll be impressed. Especially because she's cheap.
The one downside is that her meatballs aren't ball joint like the newer Nendos.
>and I'm hoping the VN adaptation is good.
wait are they making it over again?
She's definitely worth it, really fun. Have 3 good faceplates wink/smile, angry, and the best is her unique depressed face; the smoke effect for the hair use the same type of the usual Nendoroid neck and leg joints so you can use it on other Nendo body; and it came with Japanese room background that perfect when you want to take picture with.
When Shinobu gets released this month they'll have completed all the Bakemonogatari preorders. I really hope they finish the fire sisters though and move on to special editions, like Hitagi short hair winter clothes, or Black Hanekawa. I was hoping that the preorders wouldn't stop, that we'd just keep getting new ones for two years, after all we waited so long for them.
Personally I want the college club to get Nendos (Kaiki, Meme, Gaen, Kagenui, and the last one that hasn't been animated yet). The alternates of all the main characters would be cool though. If they release all the characters in order of the anime I'd be super happy, but Kissshot never.
Just gonna go out a limb here, but do you actually know how much dolls are with glass eyes?
I assume you're just trolling because you don't know.
They're in the $300-600 range.
Those shitty American Girl dolls are 130+ and have plastic eyes.
Pretty sure they're just making a joke since the character doesn't like being called junk and they're supposed to be expensive and gorgeous dolls with glass eyes.
I feel like this is most Nendoroids these days. Why do the Kan Colle Nendoroids get to be 4800 with a shitton of accessories, while stuff like Nisekoi get 1 semi accessory.
One of my favorite Nendoroids is Maiko Madoka. She has a shitton of accessories and they're all super unique. She cost 3800 I think, which was a lot back in 2013, but it was worth it.
One of my least favorite Nendoroids is Chitoge. Because she comes with her bag, and a puny little key that I could make out of clay in 10 minutes. She comes with absolutely nothing that I could make use of with the other 3 Nendoroids from Nisekoi.
I don't know much about Nendos as I only have Imca. She just has the one accessory but boy is it a doozy.
20 bucks cuz the box was dented and that little see through plastic was gone. Everythings in mint condition.
local comic shop guy just really hated open boxes. works for me though
I'd be happy about that, but Celeste is first place in my heart.
If we're going that way, my first pick would actually be Kirigiri-san (well, normally I'd say Mukuro, but sadly there's zero chance for her to get a nendo, or any kind of fig, and that sucks).
I still cant believe how little suigintou toys there is, period. The girls are so suited to being accurate dolls, but no, there are a handful of figs and Pullips, nothing really amazing for her. Wish nendo had been made of her design from the first series (that eye shape and color was a lot prettier, but whatever, I'll take what I can get).
oh anon. do you even rozen maiden?
(coincidentally there is an official Suigintou bjd, is $3k on the aftermarket)
The flower is supposed to be a snowdrop, or they've written it as snow bell. They bloom around the end of winter. It's a very cute motif, although the shape they've sculpted looks more like a lily of the valley.
The picture was good, but they didn't change her hair at all in the sculpt so she just looks like regular old miku. The figma did a better job of capturing the look of the winning contest entry, which is pathetic since this was a Nendoroid contest.
2013 and 2014 are superior, because they don't just look like Miku cosplaying.
It is lily of the valley, they're using "suzuran" to describe the flower. But the title of the creation version is in English (Snow Bell ver) for some reason. The characters next to it on the flyer are 雪ミク (Snow Miku). Remember, the contest was for winter flowers in Hokkaido. Japanese find the suzuran adorable, I think this was an excuse to give them a suzuran Miku figure.
>Japanese find the suzuran adorable
nigga everyone should find that thing adorable
Agree it's too bad so many Miku nendos have the same hair shape, but I'm not really seeing how the figma one is different? Both are smooth unbroken lines without the little bit of coming-apart that the illustration has, which wouldhave added to it.
I also sort of...wish there weren't snowflakes on the hair...I know it's a snow miku tradition but this one has enough snowflakes elsewhere and an unbroken hair would have been better. Maybe with a gradient coloring of teal tone if they wanted to do something special to it. Still she's cute though.
I must have this snow Miku! She looks so cute and i love all the accessories.
Satsuki came in and overall I love the set of accessories for her base. Though the background effect does feel delicate so there was a level of carefulness applied.

Finally!, I sent a tweet for the nendoroid 400 campaign, maybe I can be one of the five winners or maybe not.
>inb4 shit taste shitstorm
Anyhow, to anyone who ordered nendo sakura, congrats, meanwhile I'm gonna enjoy my suigintou.
Chances of a Chaika Nendo?
Chances of it having this face?
Amagi Nendos when?
The Captain Earth staff were advertising their anime on the GSC Wonfest stream. They didn't advertise any other Bones anime. More likely the Captain Earth staff as a group were involved and not Bones production staff. I think there's been only one other Bones Nendoroid petit.
And the last K-on Nendoroid was Nichijou.
Got mine today, Satsuki with Mako's hair is some kind of wonderful, to me at least.
This Nendo road gettin' kind of slippery, got Snake and Venera on the way too
