You dumb fleshie.
Please tell me I'm not the only person who hates the way nu-Technic looks.
Some of the models look like goddamn Playmobil.
Happy belated May 4th.
Aphra won the TVC Fan Poll.
http://www.starwars.com/news/doctor-aphra-wins-hasbros-star-wars-fan-figure-vote
That will make her the second confirmed TVC figure when the line returns in Spring, the first being a TBS repack Rey.
6" news:
TBS Snoke on a throne exclusive is coming in Spring.
TBS Royal Guard mold / Blue Senate Guard / Shadow Guard multipack is coming.
Wave Two of the 40th Anniversary is being found in some stores in the US. This includes C3-PO, Tusken Raider, Jawa, Chewbacca, Stormtrooper and Death Star Commander.

Get out, really? That Shadow Guard sounds awesome. Dang I regret getting into the Black Series, too many Empire figures I want.
>>6316600
Picked up Vader and Ben today- TRU still has the May 4th deal running too. Anyone still looking for that first wave, it might be worth checking TRU.
Found a couple at Best Buy too; which I certainly don't check for figures ever, but might be worth a shot.
/Toy/s that you love but you don't own.
I would much rather have the one that the customizer made look like the original colors.
>>6314951
Why would someone ruin a BAF Sentinel by painting it blue? That pisses me off because I really want a couple of them but I won't pay what they're going for.

New thread since old one is near death.....
Local comic shop has the Platinum Trypticon re-issue for sale for $150. Should I jump on it? Is it any good with the smaller Legends style Transformers? Is the base mode any good and shit?
>>6320064
Depends if you have room for TW Trypticon (who is going to be huge as hell).
G1 Trypticon is so-so; the chief selling point however has always been the dinosaur mode. The base/city mode is so-so but you'll need the G1 combiners to fully enjoy it (especially since you can connect Motormaster and Onslaught to Trypticon in their base modes).
>>6320064
Did you forget this is happening for around the same price?

Inexperienced eBay seller seeking advice- sorry for the shameless thread
Was helping my girlfriend clean out her basement and found pic related, she was going to toss it but I figured it might be worth something. Put it up for auction starting at $60 with a buy it now of $90. Woke up this morning to pic below, looking for some advice on what to do here. Thanks :D

>The old I've been hacked take a check that will bounce so hard scam.
>>6317582
Obviously a scam OP. Even if not, better to be safe than sorry. Ignore them or tell them to pay the normal way. Why would they offer a much larger amount for all that trouble? It is to bait people into greed and fall for their trap. If youblisted it for $400 they would probably offer $600.

For those unfamiliar, "Plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model." If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.

Alright, I need to do a bit of scratchbuilding for the first time, please teach me your secrets. Looking through the OP I see a useful article on Scalemodelguide.com using Milliput, but are there any other good resources out there for a first-timer? Is Milliput better than Green Stuff for adjusting some curves and making a few accents?

I've been using Tamiya putty, but AFAIK it's mostly based around what you're using for raw materials what works best.
>>6316773
By raw materials are you talking about what I'm using the putty on? I've got a red Baselard I intend to play with, gonna make her figure a bit more feminine and do something to replace the neck piece on the second body.

I'm the only one I'm aware of that collects these on here.
>>6315373
I think I have a few of these from way back. If I remember correctly it was the first thing I ever imported.
>>6315365
I don't think I've ever seen one of these posted on /toy/
Found these guys at an antique shop today. The woman behind the counter wondered why I "wanted those ugly things" and had no idea what they were, but I think they're beautiful. I hope they were used for bunraku. but they don't quite look like the bunraku that I've seen in the past. Regardless, I'm glad that I bought them.
I'll be posting more pics in a bit if anyone is interested. I'll also dump pics and videos of bunraku and puppeteering.
bump, those look cool anon. i wish i could get into collecting puppets

Are big figures cheap to produce?
Or what is the deal, This gigantic star wars figures and even some super hero figures are produce, but apparently thinking on a gigantic figure of a monster is a big no no?
Example, let's imagine we have in humanoids rebooted. Making the monsters this big and humans being small figures.
Would it be viable or a lot of lost money?
>>6313373
Size is not that big of a factor. Those toys are easier to produce because of their simplicity. Those figures in your pic have like 7 parts so 6 assembly steps, and maybe 8 paint apps or less. They do not require as much manpower as jointed 20+ POA 6-inch or 3.75-inch action figures.
As for your hero vs monster thing, it's just because these characters sell and those monsters don't.
>>6313373
I see what you're saying. If they remade the Inhumanoids monsters even half this size they'd cost twice as much.
I think the packaging is one of the key factors here. Packaging costs a lot to produce but these things simply come strapped to a small cardboard base.
>>6313412
Yes. THIS.
Also, they're licensed properties that are really hot right now. So the company can afford to sink in whatever it costs to manufacture these and they can be certain that these will sell in the millions. But it doesn't mean the same for any tv show or movie based line. Inhumanoids /= Star Wars.
Tell me about spray booths. What should I be looking for? What's the best one? Most of the ones I see tend to be this with a different logo on the side.
I have this one, minus the extra hose.
I honestly mostly got it because I wanted a solid booth to spray in which, if necessary, can be folded into something smaller. The piece in the middle can be rotated or completely removed; I removed mine and use it instead to photograph finished pieces since the rotating feature is pretty useful for this.
It's...medium loud? Sounds like the exhaust hood above a regular stove, just a little quieter.
Since my parts are usually pretty small the booth is big enough. I also don't spray big pieces/have to cover large surfaces, so the sprayed amount of paint at once is not much.
However, I cannot say if it actually helps better than any other box.
You cannot feel any "wind" and any paint that is on the filter is probably there because I blow the paint into the general direction of it anyway. I have never sprayed without it so I got no experience with some cardboard box setup.

Trying to post on 4chan with a phone is like jacking off with sandpaper.
To the guy in the last thread who freaked out about Jungle Japan having 3p stuff: it's more than you think. They completely redid the front of the store by the entrance into a full 3p display. They have an entire full of (kind of overpriced) 3p stuff now, and a nerdy German guy on staff beside it.
