What's your favorite toys shop??
Honestly? Probably my local comic place. It's pretty large and usually, even if I don't have the cash, I'll find myself lost in it and still buy a comic or two even if I don't buy a figure.
Other than that, there's one or two comic places around that I don't really bother with and a Toys R Us that never really has anything in. Nearby Wal-Mart's and Walgreens are usually never stocked well enough to find anything good.
Ebay, I get that shit for cheap and the return policy is unmatched.

BBTS.
There's one good Toys R Us around here but absolutely everywhere else is like trying to buy steak in a Soviet supermarket.
Time for a new thread

It's a 3P Arcee by Iron Factory. It's smaller than Legends sized. So it doesn't scale with anything really.

Boulder Media is making a G1 reboot. It will be 2D animation and canon with another show called Micronauts.
>>6326994
I'll believe it when I see it.
This is the only figure I can say I actually felt content after getting. I think it lasted about a week until the need for new plastic came back.
Had this out for over two years straight.
Most recently, building, completing, and playing with this kit made me feel like a kid again. It hit all the right spots for me. I felt like I never needed another toy again. That feeling lasted exactly two days.
Before that I can't even remember the last figure that left me wanting nothing. Probably SOC Voltron but before that I couldn't tell you a single one over years and years.
>>6326493
If being content or satisfied with your purchase is so few and far between like that, I'd say you need a new hobby.
Toys that you forgot existed and now want to buy again general
>>6321948
I made little hand covers for this one with sharpened skewers on them so he could stab stuff when he used his punches. Good times.
>>6321950
Seems fun
Underground RR fights?
I forgot these guys existed until I saw them in the Pakistani McDonalds commercial a while back.
What are some toys that disappointed you, /toy/ soldiers?
Here's mine, Figma Strength (TV Version).
>Got for my birthday
>Love BRS for some reason, even own the LE blu-ray boxset with IBRS despite the fact the anime was kinda meh
>Open her up, super excited
>A few of the joints are kinda janky, definitely not a bootleg but feels a bit like a factory "dud"
>Ogre Arms are stupidly awkward to pose
>Trying to get all three stands sitting nicely at once is a nightmare
>Some of the pegs are too loose and the hands don't like staying attached to the arm mechanisms as a result
>One of the little stand adapters cracks (meme magic is real I guess)
>Tail isn't as poseable as it could be
On the plus side once she's posed she looks absolutely awesome, but getting her there is ridiculously awkward and downright scary at times. Maybe I should get a Di:Stage to eliminate the "base crowding" issue.
Other disappointments are NECA Flamethrower Robocop (looks cool but can't pose for shit and can't hold his flamethrower) and SHMA Big Chap (Quite fun to pose and feels good in hand, but completely inaccurate and his tail keeps falling off).
Anyway, what's yours?
>>6320198
Coincidentally the exact same figure due to the retardedly poor engineering on the arms. The sockets arent tight enough so they fall out all the time even when not being handled. For some reason the hands are solid plastic so they're way too heavy for the stands they come with and the tail on mine fell off with minimal stress. Not a BRS fan just liked the design but she's in my pile of shit I'm selling after spring cleaning.
Other than that the only other disappointment was NECA Striker Eureka for obvious reasons.
Looks awesome, but the leg joints are extremely loose, so it can't stand on its own.
Figma Zero Suit Samus, can't pose for shit, can't look sexy, hair looks like greasy spaghetti, and she has a face that essentially says "I have downs".
I got her alongside Dark Magician Girl, who is absolutely fantastic, though Yugi himself is rather janky and his jacket doesn't fit properly into his back.

Where to buy second hand Shinkis:
>eBay, Amazon - generally overpriced, but you might get lucky.
>Mandarake, Rakuten - search 武装神姫 and don't trust listing images.
>Yahoo Japan Auctions, Suruga-ya - you'll need a proxy if you’re not in Japan.
>Taobao - some shops ship international now, so you might not need a proxy.
>Amiami, Jungle-scs - occasionally get some preowned.
>Check the BST threads, My Figure Collection, and Busou Shinki World too.

We need to collect some resources like tiny tailoring tutorials and patterns.

i love the overall look of this, but the hair could have been done better
>>6319648
Where do I have to move to be able to achieve this for cheap?
I just have one question for greedo...
WHAT ARE THOSE
>>6319063
They look like loafers.
What, Rodians can't wear casual footwear? Why you gotta be like this?
>>6319063
Shoes? I don't get your point.
I just bought an older GI Joe figure (pic related) and I'm having so much more fun with it than any of my more modern Joes from the last two movies/25th. I think a lot of the designs from this era were just more fun, and honestly, I think the sculpts are better in a lot of cases. Less detailed, maybe, but the overall aesthetic was more to my taste. Like when they update those old designs for the modern line, I often don't like them as much. Anyone else really into the aesthetic on late 80's-mid 90's GI Joe?
>>6316338
top notch fig, i enjoyed one for quite some time in the past
>>6316338
yeah ARAH style joes have quite a good following.
I liked the most realistic ones though, like original Lt. Falcon and Footloose
>>6316338
Dude, that was one of my favorite figures as a kid.
Now I kind of need to track one down, along with the ridiculous early 90's snake eyes
special ops edition?

What are you guys excited for? I'm pretty hyped for almost everything.
ITT: Post seemingly innocent toys that would be deemed racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, non-body positive, cultural appropriating, etc, ect, if released nowadays.
>>6267480
Any random pickaninny figure.
>>6267486
What is that, a Bionicle? I can't see how anyone would find that offensive.
Any decent webphotocomics out there? Preferably good and/or on-going ones. Even standalone ones from 4chan's fine.
I remember there was an Alien and Predator one where the two were roommates. There were some nice Busou Shinki ones back in the day (marred by the inevitable shipping with Transformers).
Any recommended reads?

Bump. I love these.

But yeah, I think there was one where a dude used various doodads to represent characters as well.
I'm looking for new material to read. Any recommendations?

I posted a video-game photocomic in one of the Nintendo threads a while back, it's called "The Ten."
The art is shitty and the story makes no sense.

This picture is so dope
Finally found a Legacy Movie Red after the movie's release.
He's definitely not great when compared to the Space/MMPR White figures, but he gets the job done. Might give him some additional paint apps and light panel lining to really make him shine.
How do I get weapons with out shilling for 5 more figures?
I want to buy pic related or something similar, and it would be nice if I could buy it before it gets dark so I can go around the lake a few times. Anyone know of any brick and mortar stores that sell this kind of two-piece waveboard-motion... thing?
also, alternative skateboard thread I guess
the "annular skates" are the biggest hits for my attempted google searches but I don't really want to get these.
one of the nice things about waveboards is that if you lean both feet foward or backwards, the rotating trucks mean that you can sort of slide in a direction that's not directly forward ("in line with the line from the bow to the stern of the device" i guess)
on the other hand, i've never ridden these and i have ridden the ones in the OP (those were great fun) so maybe I should get these just for variety.
i found this ripstick on craiglist for $25 and they go for like $80 on amazon and i think it was about the same in a walmart or wherever I saw them last, but you see these all over the place and they're nothing special. I kind of want to turn heads.
I also found this on craigslist, also $25 but much closer to me. On amazon they're about 10-20 cheaper than these >>6326658 which makes me wonder what the difference is, whether the build quality is worse or something. I've never seen someone ride these, but I know like 5 people with the other version. It does seem to be the same brand though, not a knock-off or anything.
also yeah i'm not sure if this thread should go on this board or not, this is literally my first time on /toy/, but I checked /asp/ and it was just full of wrestling. and on craigslist this stuff was in the toys section.
I'm gonna move to a new place soon and, for the first time, I'll have a room dedicated to my (quite large) collections (figures and manga) and I'm really hesitant on how to make it look good. I've researched the subject on Google Images but since I don't really know what I want, it's not that easy to find something I like.
Should I settle for glass cabinets or shelves with glass doors?
If I choose glass cabinets, should I buy some with plain (what color?) or mirror backgrounds? (I don't really like transparent backgrounds.)
If I choose shelves with glass doors, what color should I buy? I think black is classier but I have quite a lot of figures with dark colors which would probably pop out more on white shelves.
Feel free to post pic of kickass collection rooms. I need ideas.
>>6323506
And just to be clear, I don't think that pic looks good. At all.
I think it's not about which kind of display case you get, but the amount of figures that you display. The more you put out for display, the more cluttered it looks. I'd just stick to your favorites, or go for a theme and try not to cram too much in a small space.
>>6323520
I'll have more than enough room to display everything while avoiding the cluttered look.
Anyone have any idea who or what this is? A friend gave him to me when he was going through his old stuff and I thought it was just some generic dollar store toy. The sculpt on it is pretty great and the paint is good too.
