it's mattel, they don't really understand the benefits of a proper announcement of upcoming products and a time frame for when they come out. All I can tell you is wait for toy fair NY which is in the coming few weeks.

They will most likely give a showing of a lot of stuff they got coming out this year, so pray and hope the mattel booth/room/whatever gets a lot of easy to find coverage on the various blogs. Took me a LOT of searching to get some decent pictures of every single figure and item last year. Heck they showed off the working product of the energy sword at something like either e3 or comic con, but I didn't know until like a month after the fact. very few people had images of the display let alone any video.


And after all that, you wait and watch the stores. Sorry but Mattel won't give any indication of WHEN they will release their stuff, no preorders, nothing. Very very annoying how Mattel handles marketing, they just say they are making something, and then sell it without caring about anything else.

I bought all of them hoping to use them as armored goons for my ML/DCUC capeshit but even though they were billed as 6inchers they really aren't and didn't scale at all so I returned them.

So this is pretty straightforward, build something that isn't Gundam. I literally do not care what it is, if it's not Gundam it counts (and just to get this out of the way, Bandai is fine). I do not require full paint jobs this time either, as I know the vast majority of people here build Bandai and that's it.

This is also not a prize build, but a regular group build.

I found some transformers at an op shop but can't figure out how to fully transform them. I asked how to find out what version they are so I can find a proper picture or instructions on how to do it and someone in the last thread asked for pictures.

First is optimus with something wrong, I think his fists are blocking the transformation all the way but can't figure out how to get them out of the way

I wish they'd offer standalone versions of their deluxe trooper builder sets. I love the look of that lady knight and the extras are cool...but I know that pretty much all of them will disappear into a parts bin.

This figure looks 90% perfect and then that part looks all fucked up

It looks like they sculpted him with a much wider chest and then somehow it got screwed up in the process of implementing the shoulder joints or something. It looks so weird that his shoulders are as huge as they are without a wider rest of the upper torso

I doubt that they're literally rubber but they have a rubbery texture

I'd say endure some Youtube reviews, and come to your own conclusions.

They are both great toys, and it really comes down to personal preferences.

I prefer the D-Arts just because I like the more metallic paint and "realistic" re-imagined look to it, and it's a nice and solid feeling figure. It, however, comes with fuck-all in terms of extras aside from its attack effect part.

The SHF looks straight out of the movie and has super flat colors and reddish accent lines to keep in line with the movie's animation style. It comes with extras, like open hands and a display base. It has better articulation, but imho it looks dumpy as fuck.

The D-Real looks like more of a stylistic middle ground between the two, desu, so if you really prefer that one I'd camp YJ or Mandarake.

Or you can take the highroad and get the bootleg of a Japanese artist's garage kit/Revoltech hybrid of X-Antibody Wargreymon.

I have the d-arts and heavily consider buying the shf every time I see it because I prefer the more movie-accurate look. He's a lot cooler, and from what I hear has improved articulation.

I own the D-Arts version, but I just looked up pictures of the SH Figuarts version and I like that one more. My opinion is based purely on visual aesthetic.

I like the washed out colors compared to the metallic finish on the D-Arts one. I prefer that cartoony look. Plus, I love the Our War Game movie. The Taichi Standee was a nice touch.

The Classics and the Movie figures all have elbows, so you could maybe do some kitbashing. If they had elbows they'd be perfect, but once I get them in hand, I don't really miss them.
