GOD level threat approaching edition
First for land a bridge and needle Ratchet Bomb.
What do you think of this?
I have 3 flex slots and I'm not sure what to fill them with.
I was thinking maybe another oath but most likely assemble the legion or balefire liege. Dark dwellers have been okay on testing.
Also, this deck has won against eldrazi. First game is rough but it's pretty easy after boarding in land destruction and the paths.
Anyone have that Mardu Midrange list? I just want a midrange deck that's not instantly $600 because of four goyfs. I have a rough idea with Lightning Bolts, Helixes, Inquisitions and Confidants.
There's no optimal swap of course, but you need color fixing so Mana Confluence (painful mana base fucks the non-infect aggro matchups more than necessary though) or Gemstone Caverns (I'll assume this will crack prematurely more often than you'd like), maybe just swamps and forests if you feel like gambling and Blood Moon is a heavy hitter in your meta.
Holy fuck just looked up Tendos, they're expensive now. Guess the budget option was too good.
Look up some some common draft lands, they aren't half bad. Unknown Shores is the standard but you can find some really neat/cute ones
What would you sideboard in a UWR control deck with this meta? Crumble to dust comes to mind.
I hope you'll find a way to make skred competetive enough to beat other tier 1 decks.
Please post the deck again when you feel like it is done! I would love to see your progress on it
Ummm okay? The pros of magic, at least for modern don't play much better than players at my fnm and just because they ran a busted eldrazi shell doesn't mean every weekend warrior is going to shell out for this broken ass meme deck
Where were you when Chapin dumped a steaming pile of truth on Star of David Games?
Those lands are so busted though. It's gross playing against. They wanted to avoid feel bad moments by dumbing the game down and taking away answers, but this truly feels bad to lose against
Look at how healthy and diverse the current meta is.
Playing Pauper and Standard, wanting to get into Modern.
I'm working on a Mono Green Devotion deck, this is where I am so far. Any tips ?
4x Arbor Elf
2x Birds of Paradise
4x Burning-Tree Emissary
3x Courser of Kruphix
1x Craterhoof Behemoth
3x Eternal Witness
2x Primeval Titan
3x Strangleroot Geist
4x Genesis Wave
3x Primal Command
3x Garruk Wildspeaker
3x Oath of Nissa
4x Utopia Sprawl
1x Kessig Wolf Run
4x Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
4x Stomping Ground
4x Wooded Foothills
3x Creeping Corrosion
3x Crumble to Dust
3x Melira, Sylvok Outcast
3x Nylea's Disciple
3x Scavenging Ooze
Reminder that the Eldrazi deck is making waves into Legacy.
So just remember that whenever you play against the Eldrazi deck, you're playing against a legacy deck with a modern deck.
Legacyfags should be happy that fresh meat can join their format without experiencing the full Legacy buy-in predicament.
Just help them scrounge up cash for Ancient Tombs and they're good to go. Hell they could probably make do without them, they've got 8 Sol lands as is.
>eldrazi aggro + eldrazi control = 85 decks
It's not even one weekend after the Pro Tour and Affinity is already about to lose its top spot. It's been fun boys. The metagame's been solved.
Throwing this together with some cards I have from my failed weirdstorm build, it's basic as fuck can I get some suggestions? To buy the cards I do need it'll run me about 219 bucks.
It's likely not worth playing right now unless you up to 4 terminates/4path.
I think if you google protour ogw mardu Ben stark it will come up. I actually ran the same list for a while
DIDN'T MEAN TO MAKE YOU CRYYYYYY
>15% not aggro
Oy vey how toxic! Interacting with your opponent clearly makes players feel bad! So we will have to do some bannings of those unfun decks to promote a diverse metagame as seen in the modern pro tour!
On an unrelated note have you guys been to Star City Games™? That's where I get all my Magic The Gathering™ gear. I just picked up a playset of Eldrazi™! I hear it's awfully good right now
BUY MORE OATH OF THE GATEWATCH
>playing with foil IoKs
It wasn't exactly a 100% must have in Standard. It was a solid card for sure, but nowhere near the level of money something like Thoughtseize would command.
I played UB Control during Zendikar Standard, for what it's worth. The money was mostly in JTMS and the fetches to support him.
Hey guys- I bought into burn recently, decided to go mono red in case I ever want to head towards eternalland. Is it better to buy blood moons now, or wait til I need them to turn off wastelands?
That price is overinflated even for SCG.
>needing to turn off Wastelands
dude you play monored. Not only that, in Legacy you use fetches as a shield to protect your sources of other colors until you absolutely need them.
Just play Molten Rain for the time being.
Shops is good in vintage due to the large number of cards it hates out. Chalice on zero fucks so much in vintage, yet in modern almost no cards at all. It's a bad comparison.
Sorry for bad drunken english. I am drunken yuropoor/
Doesn't matter can't give you good advice unless I can view all of the material in the deck. I normally don't bother with Mono Green or devotion as mostly they are garbage anyway but I've seen it done right a few times. And it isn't cheap.
Not them but turn 3 primal command, tuck their land and gain 7, or gain 7 tutor for ewit and repeat. Or just plopping your hand out.
The matchup isn't bad, especially with by lead disciples postboard, but you can easily lose to a wave of skullcracks. Deck has capabilities of drawing the ENTIRE deck on turn 2 and swinging lethal with 2 craterhoofs
Honestly I think green devotion is one of the most underrated archetypes. There is a huge amount of flexibility in how to build it and generally having 7 mana on turn 2-3 is good in modern
Mana dork isn't essential. If you have Nykthos and a forest with Utopia Sprawl on it you don't need the elf to start generating massive amounts of mana. It just makes the deck go off one turn latter if the dork dies. Meanwhile, they are doing nothing on their own so it's basically the same.
I've made changes to the side and main since I posted this, mostly putting an acidic slime in the main instead of joraga, cutting choke, adding more creeping corrosion, Rec sages, and a sideboard slime.
I might try genwave again for fun but oftentimes it feels like a bad storm deck, especially if you genwave for 5 and miss the ability to recast genwave
I thought Genesis Wave was a huge staple for this kind of deck.
Slime seems better than Crumble to Dust, I'll swap that.
Why don't you run Scooze in the SB for delver/loam matchups ? it crushes them pretty hard.
>Choice is between Memedrazi and Affinity
>Don't want to play either
Might as well play slivers, because every other deck is going to be T2 or worse anyway.
Chalice for zero by itself is a mild speed bump, hell a single chalice in general is just a small hindrance that can be played through.
You need at least 2 chalices, or a chalice and a bad mulligan from the Affinity pilot.
You can't play half the deck and springleaf is pretty useless without the zero drops to tap.
You need more lands due to that and opal not resolving and the artifact count is much lower for ravager and plating.
It's a tad more than a speed bump
What about that was incorrect? It's a format that's dominated by Eldrazi, Affinity to race Eldrazi, and a few combo decks that just don't care. Any deck that's not Eldrazi, Affinity, or a fast, nasty combo is barely worth considering.
If you're not playing Eldrazi you're either playing Affinity (and praying to get a nut draw) or losing. Every other combo deck is basically unconsiderable in this new meta. I doubt even Twin would make a difference now that "turn 2 Swing 25" is a real deck.
Ad Nauseam, Scapeshift, burn, Infect... They're all too slow. Infect can potentially kill on turn 2 with Glistener, Groundswell, Krosa, and any amount of Mutagenic Growth. But if we're living in Christmas land, we're also living in Eldrazi's 25 damage turn 2 format.
>me in last fn
>game 3 vs eldrazi
>got 2 menmite and 2 thopers, 1 mox, glimmervoid and cranial plating.
>looks pretty good i said
>turn one opponent play eldrazi temple, discard ssg and drop chalice with x= 0 and chalice with x=1. He pass the turn
>Inner screamming intensifies
Seriously chalice should be banned.
Play Engineered Explosives.
At least you have enough colorless sources that you can play it for Sunburst of 0 while paying X > 0 to bypass Chalice.
>using TKS on an empty hand
I played Standard when Urza's Saga and Mirrodin were both released. This may not be as bad, but it's still pretty fucking egregious.
8Tombs.dec has destroyed the metagame.
Girls, girls. Both your decks are retarded.
>playing creatures with etb effects on curve is control
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>I don't have enough implying for this
Cant play explosives with X=0 anon, the chalice will counter it. Plus I couldnt land glimmervoid on the field cause of no artifacts on my side.
Dunno if I should change explosives for ratchet bombs land.
Oh fuck, 2 years playing with affinity and didnt think about that.
Still didnt have explosive till one turn before i conceded. The eldraazi guy already had reality smasher and 2 mimic on field.
Burn and Jund. Partly there's some confusion over what people are calling their "imaginative Eldrazi brews": if a deck runs 90% of the same cards as every other Eldrazi deck it's a fucking Eldrazi deck.
"ENDrazi", "Eldrazi Control", "Endbringer", "UR Eldrazi", and "Eldrazi Aggro" are different names for fundamentally the same shit. Does it use the same lands to shit out Mimics, TKS, and other various Eldrazi? Then it's an Eldrazi deck.
Rate my Junk sideboard. Im experimenting with options, with a pretty stock BGW build.
>2x Loxodon Smiter
>2x Feed the Clan
>2x Zealous Persecution
>2x Timely Reinforcements
>1x Engineered Explosives
>2x Stony Silence.
Can i have some help with finishing my UWR Control deck, was thinking of adding a second Spell Snare and a Wandering Fumarole for the last 2 cards. Thoughts on that?
Also need some help with the sideboard, I should probably fit some painter's servant in there?
Might pick up a pair for my Burn sideboard. Then again the meme deck will be banned in April once wizards has stopped selling Oath packs so not sure it's worth the investment
As far as dealing with reality smasher, wouldn't shriekmaw bypass his protection? Not much to do against a hand of t1 mimics though.
> Played emeria control,
> eldrazi sucked my hard dick,
Mfw when they're dropping Newlamog which was way much harder to deal with
I've played the shit deck numerous times and it's the most underwhelming pile I've played in modern. You durdle about with shitty removal and janky flicker that's a minor annoyance at best.
You can stay ignorant though
>"hehehe fucking netdeckers, you cannot beat MY epic homebrew kiddo!"
>"Hehe, I play a plains... and I SUMMON SERRA'S ASCENDANT IN ATTACK POSITIIIIOOOON!!!!!"
So I'm probably going off the deep end with this list, but you let me know how bad it is.
3 Ghost Quarter
2 Tectonic Edge
2 Godless Shrine
2 Watery Grave
2 Overgrown Tomb
4 Marsh Flats
4 Polluted Delta
4 Inquisition of Kozilek
3 Doom Blade
2 Go for the Throat
3 Painful Truths
2 Nihil Spellbomb
3 Liliana of the Veil
3 Phyrexian Crusader
3 Phyrexian Obliterator
2 Gray Merchant of Asphodel
1 Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon
2 Path to Exile
3 Abrupt Decay
2 Blood Baron of Vizkopa
I lost all games before the pro tour when ppl actually had ulamog.
Now they're actually running the exact top eight lists or almost exact deck lists. How retarded can you be to do that?
You're full of shit. Do me a favour and run those exact same lists too, it's not that easy but to deal but I'd wipe yo ass clean
Kek, the deck happens to have two emerias but it ain't the so called azorious titan control babies netdeck
seems like it deals with pretty much any eldrazi... i think it can also kill emrakul?
might wanna run urborg with all those colorless lands
why is path not main?
why go for the throat over victim of night?
It seems slightly better than just Negate but I can swap it out for Negate.
I thought about having an Urborg or two, wasn't 100% sure and decided that having all my color sources being searchable was better than just 1 Urborg.
No Paths main because of having 8-10 removal spells main.
Go for the Throat because it is easier to cast and hits everything other than artifact dudes, which is why I pushed for more Doom Blades and Dismembers than GFTTs.
What didn't the faggot ever saw a deck with only two of these? Maybe it has to appear in a top eight to be acknowledged...
The "top 8 gays" or even the "top 1000 gays" like it in the ass, maybe you should ear their advice too retard
yes it can kill emrakul assuming of course you live through a single attack of it considering shriekmaw is sorcery speed. I think it would be good in an esper deck abusing restoration angel
> taunting me
I am not much of a retard to not have done it if I really wanted to by now.
Why interested if you guys even say it is shit from the start?
> Going through all the trouble of posting it so anyfag could copy or take advantage of my list.
My brew may still really be a shit after all, who knows, but I'm smarter than that, I am not gonna fall for that!
I should've listen my friends advice, this place is indeed a shithole
what the shit is going on itt.
the rage. the memes. it all needs to end.
>mfw i had 4 base set charizards, one of them holographic
T2. Thought-Knot Seer, take Ensnaring Bridge.
But seriously, World Breaker gets around that problem. Just bring him back from the yard for 3, exile a permanent, and get back to swinging.
What's the best Naya deck I can make without Tarmogoyfs?
3-1 with Gobbogeddon tonight for 16 dollary-doos in credz
2-1 vs America
>Blood Moon is a good card right guiz
2-0 vs Burn
>Got me to 1, then I Goblin Bust.
0-2 vs Predator Ooze Devotion
>Turns out I don't have a whole lot of game against Indestructible Fatties, also Vines to my Angel in response to Kiki.
2-1 vs Affinity
>Maindeck Pyroclasms lel
At hardcast, a 2/4 with upside is standard.. And good ones do come from time to time (4/5 for 3). Delerium is situational enough that it should peak at 5/6. 3/4 without it, which kinda sucks, so it seems "balanced" (jk just a poormans goyf)
There were several in the room, two of them taking 2nd and 3rd with 3-0-1 records (I think. Could have been Chord and Eldrazi - didn't really care), Fish on top at 4-0, then the 3-1s on breakers being Infect, Ooze Stompy and myself.
I'm not super worried about Eldrazi. I've been playtesting against it at least 3 hours a night since the PT.
You seem super fucking mad though. Why don't you go take a nap?
I just sold Eldrazi at the peak and got out of modern. I usually play online and I got bored after the 100th mirror match. It's honestly a fun deck to play against other decks in modern, no matter how anti-Eldrazi they are, but I know it's going to be banned, and that anyone good will be playing it, so I said fuck it.
>MFW I can now buy playsets of every card legal in pauper
How much does draft suck right now?
The whole "X deck vs anti-X deck" is already the sign of a bad format. Sure it can become "Abzan CoCo vs Eldrazi" but how fucking boring can a format like that be? Sure you can put together your jank lockdown brew. It's gonna lose against non-Eldrazi decks.
Also Modern is already packed full of linear decks that can only be stopped by drawing specific hate. I don't think we need another one.
All this Eldrazi chaos has only made me realize how much Modern sucks as a format and how little of a shit Wizards gives about it.
The funny thing is that this already happened once with Zendikar and Avatar. Wizards was super scared people were going to compare Zendikar to Pandora (both being adventurey floaty rock worlds) which is why "Priceless Treasures" and fetches ended up in the set to encourage sales.
I just beat 3 eldrazi (2 BW, 1 UR) at Modern Starcity Nights with the most stupid deck ever.
Not putting this shit in my tappedout
4x Marsh Flats
2x Bloodstained Mire
2x Windswept Heath
4x Godless Shrine
4x Ghost Quarter
4x Spirit Link
4x Vampiric Link
4x Revoke Existence
4x Dark Confidant
4x Soul Warden
4x Soul's Attendant
2x Doom Blade
2x Victim of Night
2x Pithing Needle
2x Sorin, Solemn Visitor
3x Go fot the Throat
4x Ajani's Pridemate
4x Kor Firewalker
There's a "What i played, what i expected, what I got" image on /v/ that has Bloodborne as what they played, Innistrad as what they expected, and Rise of the Eldrazi as what they got
Ignoring any negatives related to cost and on a scale from "fucking kill yourself nigger" to "barely tier 4, enjoy losing to aggro", just how bad is a superfriends themed deck in an average local fnm meta?
2 Ghost Quarter
1 Rustic Clachan
1 Windbrisk Heights
2 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
4 Goldmeadow Stalwart
4 Goldmeadow Dodger
4 Wizened Cenn
4 Knight of Meadowgrain
4 Mistmeadow Skulk
Instants & Sorceries(8)
4 Path to Exile
4 Brave the Elements
4 Daybreak Coronet
4 Aether Vial
4 Honor of the Pure
2 Rest in peace
2 Relic of Progenitus
2 Kithkin Rabble
2 Ratchet Bomb
2 Stony Silence
Rate my jank kithkins
slower than affinity
folds to board wipes
for actual recommendations you should probably consider swapping 2 mutavaults for 2 more GQs, Ghost Quarter is probably the best card in modern right now
Check out this list. Haven't figured out the mana base yet but its 24-25 lands in a midrange deck in WBR colors so basically Jund manabase edited a bit
4 Dark Confidant
4 Fulminator Mage
2 Hero of Bladehold
2 Zurgo Helmsmasher
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Lightning Helix
4 Path to Exile
4 Inquisition of Kozilek
4 Lingering Souls
And various other cards. This is just a rough draft atm but how does it look
I'm not expecting to win with this, I just love the kithkin artwork and their cute lore. If I do decide to take
this out and play competitively I'll probably add in more Ghost Quarters, maybe swap some stuff out of
sideboard, but thanks.
It totally ruin Affinity AND eldrazi decks.
But since this is probably the worst matchup for eldrazi i guess they'll bring more hate if lantern is played more.
The only thing that pushes people away from lantern is that it's probably the most difficult deck to play right now in modern.
And playing it for 15 rounds is a nightmare.
Even not having to draw or go to time in every round is a challenge with these dumb opponents that are fully aware you have the lock on, like 5 mill rocks, 2 lanterns, 2 bridges, they will not draw anything relevant until they're milled but insist on not conceding because "i might draw something" no dumb fuck all you're going to draw is what i'll let you draw and it'll be shit.
Am I crazy, or is Ensnaring Bridge in a Burn sideboard a good idea?
Hear me out, we dump out hands by turn 3 usually anyway. It stops Eldrazi which is exploding in popularity, and also hits Zoo, Merfolk, Infect, Hatebears, Kiki-Chord, and any other random aggros that show up.
what do you think of sword of light and shadow here? recurring fulminator sounds pretty fun
i've actually wondered if a burn shell could be built around maindeck bridge
does lightning berserker fit into RDW?
what about running mardu scout instead of hellspark elemental? i feel like it's just a more repeatable version anyway?
i have mutagenic growth sideboard but would brute force be a better option?
i just bought the deck today and came home to see if i had anything to switch out is why i'm asking. still new to modern.
Mimic can be spellbombed/pyroclasmed/decay'd, there are 4 Bridges mb, you can Ghost Quarter + extract eye. Worldbreaker needs to get through Spellskite and the opponent needs to draw one and not have to discard it before turn 5-6.
I know we had this topic
a ban would hurt another deck (tron)
it breaks several rules regarding how much mana a land can "produce" ... but, it is legendary, needs another legendary land to even produce mana and it does not lower colorless costs
also, it is only bonkers with one specific line of play involving Mimic
this card gives the deck the ability to play some rare lines of play with explosive damage t2
but then again Mimics are 2/1 and the PT already showed Gut Shot as an awesome T1 answer - thinking of something like Forked Bolt simply 2for1 trading here makes we wonder if we are overestimating the whole Mimic combo
Chalice T1 is not new and everyone who knew Chalice before the PT knew about the possibility of Chalice
as someone who played Chalice for years in Legacy I also feel like people are overestimating things
Chalice gets hit by a boatload of efficient 2cmc removal
also SSG is card disadvantage at it's best
this is kinda tricky
temple is what pays for the colorless costs and is a sol land without a downside - it does not even suffer from the legendary problem Eye has
while Eye is involved in the T1 Mimic combo it is Temple that enables the remaining combo and TKS T2
So, my conclusion is somehow, that despite everyone arguing, that Eye can "produce" more mana, it's only problem is the Mimic combo that requires a Temple T2 to be really explosive
Temple would also not hurt any other deck
So, if Eldrazi keep on being oppressive I think we will see a Temple ban before anything else despite it being less "broken" on the surface than Eye
debate me please
