Six Smiths ain't dwarfs/duardins edition

You can't fix AoS.
>>
First for $10 Liberators.
>>
>>45292370
I want to say Gelt is one of the six smiths, the outfits look the same

So balance of power ePub up yet?
>>
I like painting Stormcast but feel the Khornates are way overdesigned and kind of obnoxious to put together and paint. Anyone else have the same experience?

Also I want to run an all vampire VC army but everyone groans at the idea of 'herohammer' what do
>>
Before anyone starts raging at me, yes.
Im the guy who is doing lizardmen with the girlfriend who is playing khorne. Im new to tabletop completely but have loved warhammer for years. Age Of Sigmar may very well flop, but im glad to have gotten a box so as to say the I own some Warhammer miniatures. But the reason for my posting is hat I have a question about painting them up. I want something colorful, without being a pain on the eyes. What are some good color schemes for lizardmen that you guys like seeing? And what do you think of the pictures the AoS app has? If the lizardmen are Praise the Sun daemons, whats the deal with that midnight black thing they have going on? Seriously, before you tap the picture of say, a Bastiladon, its a cool picture, then you tap it and look at a close up, its a totally different scheme, and ive noticed all the updated lizardmen have the same motif.
>>
>>45293979

I would really ask in the WIP thread, the thing with colorful is its going to take a lot of glazing and other techniques to look decent, that or airbrushing. You're in for some pain if you plan on layering each Saurus the old fashion way.
>>
>>45292936
I would also like Balance of Power.
>>
>>45293383
Run monsters, terror heists, zombie dragons, morghasts, grave guard are really good and a wight king for some extra protection.
>>
>>45294589

Sounds like a plan! But yes, vampires. All vampires. Lots of vampires. Vampirehammer.

It's very simple. You kill the AoS. Bring back the Fantasy ruleset with the new AoS models in their own factions. Drop the price down by 2/3rds.

Balance of Power when?
>>
>>45297570
We have, but it is wolftime, not AoS.

That's the picture I posted a few threads ago.
It speaks about the Deathlords armies.
I fear it is the last chance for now to get a Death repack. So my hopes are high for that article.

>>45299427
Black Knights, they are cannon fodder, just charges something, then heal and retreat. Not sure how Hexwraiths work.
>>
>>45299427
The extra abilities that hexwraiths get doesn't make them better then Black Knights. The formation they get is also pretty decent if you clump all your skeleton units together.
>>
>>45299504
Disregarding the fact this is, almost without doubt, bullshit.

Could you expand on those units? Sound fun.
>>
I we're talking about the Undead....

This set looks pretty awesome but....
I prefer Coven Throne. Also maybe Black Knights. Is the special formation in the box worth it?
>>
>>45300055
It's pretty standard, if you like any of the alternate units I would go with them, especially the cove throne.

i love the insane amount of detail.
its a little intimidating to paint perhaps, but I watched the duncan rhodes vid on painting the starter kit, and then wrote out my paint list noting what colors I could switch around in order to give the group variety.

but yes, it is a great value as it gives you a lot to paint.

get them all based and a quick shade and layer, and then just start rocking our the detail on them.

I think your vamp army would be awesome.
you sould totally fucking do that, that would be awesome.fuck the haters, do what you want.

first, as one Anon said, WIP will help a lot.

another is to type "bastiladon paint schemes" into google and browse the images.

If you have a warhammer or games workshop store, go in and talk with the employees. they tend to be awesome for helping with the brainstorming part.

I use an app called "citadel paint list" to create and keep track of my paint sets i come up with, and my wife writes them in a list on white paper and then does a small mark of the color next to the name.

I have other people help me as I am partially colorblind, but using the above methods has worked well for me so far.

Faeit is saying the Grand Alliance: Death book is going up for preorder next Sat, amongst the (final?) bits of space wolf stuff. Don't know if repacks means undead stuff, wolf stuff, or bits of both. The book at least doesn't sound completely implausible to me given there was undead stuff in the last campaign book, means it can dovetail in nicely.

Holy shit, the dart landed on "realistic price for an 88 page softback". I hope this pricing for the grand alliance books continues. Hell, I hope other GW rulebooks (codexes etc.) join this pattern, though that's probably wishful thinking.

35 warscrolls doesn't seem very many though, there's 71 products on the webstore currently. Even considering some of those are army bundles, and other stuff (like skeleton warriors) can be condensed into a single warscroll, it's hard not to worry some stuff might fall off.

How much better would this game be if you had to use the Warscrolls detachments and you couldn't increase the unit sizes? Or rather, you buy a box, that's the max amount of models in the unit, and then you're limited by Warscrolls for how many units you can take total.

Of course, that is a given. Not that I expect GW to..

Though I get the feeling that the current warscrolls were as much experiments as they were stop-gaps. If this thing lives to a second edition we might actually see better implementation and I hope to god points values or some sort of list construction system that works.

"grand alliance" of death
- Drops half of the existing undead units
- Adds nothing new in return
- can't be bothered to offer more than a single paltry formation to let you play the handful of old units it did bother to include in a new way

You know the worst part about this? Even as a joke its still better than any current ideas they have.

Fuck Chaos, for real.
>>
>>45315674
Thats actually a pretty good concept, both in fluff and game terms. They could get rid of all the shitty old school skeletons and replace them with badass egyptian terra-cotta warriors, while still keeping all the excellent animated construct models they have now. Make a golden settra in a blazing flying chariot their giant centerpiece 20 wound super unit. Everybody wins.

Fluffwise, keep the war of the dead going on through the age of myth and into the age of chaos. In fact, make that the reason why chaos was able to fuck up the realm of death in the first place. Settra got sick of Ruling alongside his ancient enemy and decided "FUCK YOU GUYS SETTRA DOES WHAT SETTRA WANTS, AND SETTRA SAYS FUCK NAGASH" and rebelled against sigmars alliance, returning to the realm of death to conquer all of it and kick the shit out of nagash. With both undead armies out of the equation, sigmars armies are severely weakened and fall to chaos. With seta and nagash locked in battle, the realm of death is open to invasion. By the time the 2 death gods realize it, its too late and both are forced to retreat. Cut to the present, Sigmar sends storm casts into shysh to reunite with his old allies, but fears that gaining the allegiance of one before the other will gain him a new enemy.
>>

>>

>>
>>45311107
>>45315246

This is the problem Tomb Kings, Brettonnia and the Empire currently have in AoS.

How can there be Tomb Kings if Khemri was destroyed?

Who does Settra worship now all the Khemrian gods are dead? Do all the Tomb King forces work for Nagash since he's now the God of the Dead, even if that goes against their sole motivation? And who runs the Morgue Factory?
>>
>>45317396
You can't argue with insetting explanations of a destroyed setting in the successive setting...
>>
>>45317517
It's like: how can Skaven in AoS exist.
They took the Horned Rat, made it a chaos god, then took Skavenblight threw it in the warp and...

TADA!
>>
>>45317396
For the same reason any of the existing factions can exist.

Their themes can still be applied to the new setting. Who is to say that there is no feudal kingdom of humans somewhere or a prussian empire of humans?

Regarding Tomb Kings, they might not be 'the Tomb Kings' anymore, but egyptian undead is still in the cards. Frankly we don't know all too much about Shyish in AoS, but VC and TK can still be continued there in a slighty new fashion.
>>
>>45317576
Reading through the Fyreslayers book makes it sound like tons of shit is possible in AoS.

Egypt in Shyish sounds simple as hell.
>>
>>45317600
Yeah, the realms are so huge and varied that literally anything is possible. Josh reynolds suggested that a variation of each culture that existed on the old world can be found in each of the realms. And pretty much every combination of races could probably have been found living together, seeing as even orcs and undead were part of the great alliance. I think the Khorne bloodhound BT even mentions a civilization of Duardin and Goblins! Pretty much anything you can come up with is justified in the vast and unexplored background of AoS.

Pretty much no hope at all, they removed all the skaven shit that didn't have a model and every old character, notice how every Chaos BSB is gone.

Buy a Warp lightning cannon and a box of Stormvermin.

Use the handful of Plagueklaw heads and put them on the Vermin, with some convertions and using bitz to make backpacks and GS the globes and masks you could make probably 10 or so.

The remaining SV can be given Kroot arms if you can abtain them to make very cheap Jezzails.

what's the skulkers? never heard of it
>>
>>45317535
Fucking this.

How the fuck do Skaven 'tunnel through' reality? how is Skavenblight half sunken into the warp? are Skaven part daemons now? how does anyone travel any fucking where in this world

The realm thing is such a shit idea. Part of Fantasy's charm was it all took place on one world so everything mattered, unlike 40k where a planet can explode and it mean's nothing
>>

>Part of Fantasy's charm was it all took place on one world so everything mattered

I suggest that, you should join this thread instead>45274465.

Joke aside, I will try to answer your questions.

>How the fuck do Skaven 'tunnel through' reality?

Much like their tunneling "technology " in The Old World, since they live in Realm of Chaos, a realm that connect to anywhere, so skavens can "tunnel through" the realm with trial and error. BTW, there tunnels collapse frequently.

>how is Skavenblight half sunken into the warp?

Classic skavens quaility, maybe Great Horned One rolled "misfire" when merging into Realm of Chaos.

>are Skaven part daemons now?

No. A lot of mortals exist in Realm of Chaos, under the regin of Dark Gods.

>how does anyone travel any fucking where in this world

Most of mortal do not travel thru Mortal Realms, and a few ways to do it. 1st, thru realmgates; 2nd via spaceships, Slann and seraphon go where they please; 3rd, by magic or teleport, even the Great Maw of ogors(ogres) can open portal for his worshippers. That's all I know.
>>
>>45317535
>>45317535
>hey took the Horned Rat, made it a chaos god

The Horned Rat was always a Chaos God. The Skaven themselves were described as Chaos mutants/Children of Chaos even in the oldest lore sources.

What's wrong with you people?
>>
>>45320981
He ascended to the pantheon of the dark gods. It indicates that while there are many chaos gods, not all of them are dark gods.
>>

>

Actually the sinking happened after. The Skaven fucked up with some arcane machinery.
>>
>>45321103
Tell me something that I don't know why don't you?

There are countless Chaos entities and gods in the Realm of Chaos but there are only Four Chaos which spawned them all.

The Horned Rat ascended from being a lesser Chaos God to the main Pantheon of Big Four.

The plagueklaw heads are not in scale with Stormvermin, I use Doomwheel heads which are a pain to acquire. Will post a pic of the WIP when I get back.

Not too crazy about kroot arms either, they have non-human hands (4 digits, 2 thumbs) and are not in scale with most skaven.

Thanks for the tips, though atm I'm thinking about converting the Cannon crew(only clanrat which doesnt have a molded on arm)

The Skulkers is a battalion with jezzails, stormvermin and Stormfiends for Clan Skrye

Pestilens already got two Battalion Warscrolls earlier in the narrative. Nothing yet for Moulder, Eshin or Verminus aside from the original ones.
>>
>>45322889
Which two are they?

I don't wanna count the ' Hurrr buy a Verminlord/furnace + Realmgate' shit, fuck that weak cashgrab to sell their shitty terrain, it's not even a good formation.

I assume the second is one i've not heard of apart from the original 'Plague clawpack' in the pdf

I want an Eshin one that involves a few Assassins, maybe like a kill-team and you can mark a specific enemy hero as the target for more damage, etc.

>>
>>45323768
Honestly as someone who interacts with GW from time to time for my work, I don't really think that the 'shills' exist.

You'd be surprised how many people (unwittingly) do PR/Marketing for companies. Have you seen seen 9fag before the release of Fallout 4?
>>
>>45323795
Yeah they are far too tryhard, honestly if these had been the names of the Warlock Engineers that lead the covens then it would have been better, but as it is...
>>
>>45323825
it's really not good when people taking the piss with their own idiotic names are similar enough that you can't tell who's having a laugh and who's actually using GW names.
>>
How the hell can a unit or formation be good or bad? What on earth do you people mean when you say that?
In the absence of any sort of balancing mechanic everything just sorta exists, it isn't good or bad. Sure some might have higher numbers, but doesn't that just mean your opponent lets you take more or less of them?
>>
>>45323894
I'm curious if even actual AoS players use the stupid names.

Does anyone outside of GW employees and 12-year-olds call Orcs 'Orruks'?
>>

>>
>>45323965
Cuz every non aspie can eyeball balance, compare the state troop battallion with the wander host battalion. Both are meant to do roughly the same thing. I'd prefer the state troop battallion.
>>
>>45324129
No no Orc is not copywritable, but Orruk is.

So some company can make an Orc Warboss that looks similarish to a GW orc but they can't make an Orruk Warbass(tm).

It's so they can protect their own IP a little easier. If it was a new company, or a new game then I could see why, but this is a poor move in the eyes of established customers on an existing IP when there's no defensive IP enforcement being made. It just looks desperate.
>>
>>45324005
Aelf, Ogor and Duardin aren't that bad, though if they wanted original names for the elves they could have stuck with Asur, Asrai and Druchii, or made up something along those lines. Same goes with dwarfs, they should have just called them Dawi.
Orruks is weird and takes longer to type out than orcs so no one is going to use it.

Its the fucking death faction names that get me. Deathmage? Nighthaunt? DeathRattle? when has the word "rattle" ever been threatening without the word "snake" immediately following it?
>>
>>45324194
You need to remember that most copyright law works like this:
If you don't protect your IP (aggresively) you lose it. So making things cpoyrightable can sometimes just be common sense, since you know you are gonna end up in court.

Not saying that this is happening at GW, but I noticed that most people have a very limited knowledge of IP and copyright law. Not that I'm an expert by far.
>>
>>45324181
>missing the point: the post
>>
>>45324194

Thank, anon.

Still I don't understand. I still can buy Orc warboss from other company, who look pretty similar to GW one, put it on the table and name it Orruc or what ever as much as I like. And all other guys who plays with me will see and identify it as Orruc if we play AoS. What rights they want to protect? Right to write this new name on the cover of the miniature's box?
I'm confused.
>>
>>45324171
Absolutely no reason why not. You could also say theres a district of azyrheim that looks exactly like nuln and is inhabited by previous Nuln citizens. Or you can do alternate versions of Nuln in each of the realms. Almost anything is possible
>>
>>45324272
Yes I'm aware (some aren't) about actually protecting your IP to maintain it but there are other ways of maintaining your market presence that doesn't involve using laws to do your job.

In some ways (and I understand the purpose of IP protection, don't get me wrong), usurping the competition is making a better product, providing better service and being a better company. Not smashing every competitor with a hammer each time a new one appears. China for instance doesn't give a fuck about IP (generally), you have to beat them by being better, not more aggressive. Right now they're being very EAish, if you know what I mean.
>>
>>45324281
I'm just saying, just because there is no numeric value, doesnt mean you can't think something is cool/good.

Maybe people think think that a certain rule or battallion gives them a cool gameplay hook. Thus it's deemed good
>>
>>45324396
Thing is, let's say you've invested quite a lot of money into an IP. And then some jackass (ab)uses your IP to make a quick buck.

That is something that can bankrupt your company. Because esspecially in games/film/etc IP is really the only truely valueable thing you have.

And because of the law, you have to defend it very vigoursly or risk losing it in the eyes of the court.

Again, not saying that's a good system, or that you have to squash everyone who is infringing in a minor way. But I am getting quite sick of everyone demonising every major company for protecting their IP. Like Ubisoft and EA are fighting over the ghost trademark. I can imagine that neither company is really looking forward to the court case, but the legal system is forcing them(in a sense)
>>
>>45293383
the Khorne units are fairly straight forward. In a way I like them better than the older warriors of chaos because they look more like gladiators than vikings, it just fits. Could have been much worse, like every spike has a skull on it.
>>
>>45324236

>Deathrattle

how is that going to work. Mad Max has a custom vehicle called the Deathrattler, and I don't see how they can slap (tm) onto a term like that.

Why not just make models cheaper so you don't have to protect yor IP
>>
>>45324886
No I'm not demonising them. The ghost thing is fucking stupid though. Gentleman's agreements can be had. It's worse with patents right now though if you look at how easy it is to operate shell-company patent attacks against mega-corps for cash.

Here's the thing, GW wanted firmer protection of its IP, something that actually came from an aggressive action they took themselves. The tyranid debacle. What happened though was it made the company more closed. They're now even more tight-lipped than they used to be. There seems to be us vs them, where us is GW and them is the customer. They're trying to do what Apple did, without the competence to produce surprise products. What they get is a groan from the stalls, not applause when something new appears.

A lot of people got upset (rightly so IMO) when they basically refused to acknowledge anything was happening before BAM all change. Even after that point there was poor corporate cohesion on the new game. They couldn't even coordinate the rollout of websites/marketing properly. It was drips, not waves.
>>
I was reading the 1d4chan entry and in the After The End Times section it says that "the next part is sketchy". What does that mean? It it true or not?

Yeah their communication has been really awefull. Which doesn't help with the brand image they are trying to create.
They want to be the friendly neighbour with the nice, cool and expensive toys.

You can have a TM on an exisiting thing, as long as it's different. It might also be about how unique your universe is in general.

if you create Gothic Superhuman Space Knight miniatures then pretty GW could say that you are infringing. But GW doesn't have copyright on Gothic, superhuman or Space knight stuff. And then the medium also plays a large role. Honestly it's not a mathematical thing and every case is different.

Yeah, as always good communication would have gone a long way in the whole AoS debacle. And yes from a PR standpoint AoS has been a disaster. Gamewise and saleswise I can't really judge, my group is pretty enthused about the ruleset. New setting doesn't excite me all that much though.
>>
>>45325160
>>45325180
They've also got the problem that in the digital domain the IP on display is the old (WHFB) not the new AOS. This to the passing customer is illogical and confusing.

They've really done themselves a disservice. I expect the 2016 financials will reflect that.
>>

>Are the later mortal realms and the former dwarves changed by which ever magic wind realm?

Yeah most stock brokers aren't that clever in terms of long term stuff they just get by on having contacts and getting deals done
That's why we had shit where oil went up - economists say this will cause reduced demand etc - oil goes down - economists say this will mean more money in the pocket so people will spend more and demand will go up - oil price rises
There were economists on the news with graphs saying China would have 10% growth for the next 100 years because it had that rate for 5 years in a row
>>
>>45325366
Thing is. Computer gaming is a growth market. Tabletop I would say less so. There's room to grow sure. But it's a smaller niche. The last thing you want to do is alienate existing customers whilst confusing new ones in the name of growth. If it was a random game system they slowly established on top of whfb then it might be a little less offensive to both groups. Problem is this might make less financial sense on paper and money rules the roost.

>>
>>45326325

I don't mean to be rude but because of your summary there you are not a desired audience period you like what they are offering but you did not buy anything, that makes your input and feelings on that inconsequential. The bottom line is will somebody buy this or not and you along with a lot of other people we're not buying Fantasy.

At the end of the day that's what matters the most. We can argue about the reasons why and the trends that it's going and where it's going or not going but ultimately not enough people were buying.

Format for first AoS throne of skulls. The laurels of victory and underdog system seems pretty neat.

My only gripe is that 30 seems like an absurdly low number of models considering I wanted to take my night goblins and you need thirty of the fucks in one unit to do anything whatsoever.
>>

I'm just really not feeling the story. It seems too much like a JRPG to me. I'm trying to see the good in it, GW lore tends to be deep and varied for multiple audiences to glom onto something, but all I've really seen so far is Stormcast Eternals and Chaos and neither faction appeals to me as lore or models. I really like the look of the Tomb Kings but they don't seem to even be in the setting yet, just their faction leader and I have no desire to buy his model.

Where was that? The free stuff only focused on two factions and kinda touched on the rest really quickly.

I'm not going to buy something to read the basic lore. I use the lore to decide on if I like a faction, so if that isn't free I don't know if I will care, meaning I don't care.

From 1d4chan it looks like only the groups that don't interest me are getting attention. I sort of liked Slaanesh but it looks like that faction is on its way out or is being the bitch of everyone else to make them look better. I don't want to put money into that.

Knocked out a quick list for this:

Harbinger of Decay (general)
Gutrot Spume
Rotbringer Sorceror and Familiar
Verminlord Corruptor
7 Forsaken
5 Blightkings
10 Plague Monks
3 Nurgling Swarms

Summonable: 3 Plague Drones, up to 5 times I guess

Feel like it hits the balance between fluffy/fun and competitive.
>>
>>45326762

However, a kingdom of men worshipping Tyrion in eshort instead of Sigmar.

I really like that format. They should do more stuff like that.

Why are people still crying about Slaanesh being squatted? If anything, Slaanesh has gotten far more attention in the AoS fluff than he ever did in fantasy. All he did there was troll elves and then fail badly against them once they got their shit together. In AoS we actually have slaaneshi war bands fighting everyone, being featured in most of the Battletomes and campaign books, and giving them an interesting motivation other than "lol kill aenarions descendants."
Elves, ahem, Aelfs, don't even exist in the realms other than azyr and you don't see people bitching about how elves are being squatted
>>
>>45327792
So when do the Tomb Kings and Slaanesh get their own lore?
>>
>>45328029
Maybe he did mean 'none', because words can be confusing and nobody with any taste would play AoS.

>>
>>45328673
Because Warriors of Chaos are fucking faggots, and the way Warhammer lore works is if you aren't belonging to a Chaos God and favored you are not shit.

Also, Slaanesh had more of a presence in the lore than anyone. Tzeentch plotted, Slaanesh got shit done since almost every cult was Slaaneshi because his portfolio is literally corruption.

End Times is Age of Sigmar, not Warhammer.

As you recall Tzeentch didn't do shit either. Nor did Ogres. Greenskins didn't end up meaning anything.

In fact, Khorne failed pretty hard. Nurgle and Khorne were the big players on the side of evil.

Slaanesh has had quite a bit of lore already.
Tomb Kings are gone, but Tomb King style undead have been seen in some short stories and will likely appear in the death books which I think will be the next release.

>>
>>45329394
Warhammer End times set on the warhammer world with warhammer fantasy characters was Age of sigmar? Ok.

And how did Khorne fail? His forces drove the dark elves out of naggarond, mopped up what was left of the empire, finished off Athel Loren, killed one of the incarnates and stalemated the rest, and didn't suffer any major losses until Sigmar Himself returned.
>>
>>45329611
A death rattle is the sound made by one at the hour of their expiration. However, it is not a particularly threatening term, and a more minatory word than the one listed previously would be something not unlike "Undead Legion", which while being significantly unoriginal, comes with certain maniacal and ominous air.
>>
>>45329628
Khorne's forces were defeated to the last in Naggaroth, the DE left because Malekith decided to push his claim.

Athel Loren was finished off more by Beastmen than anyone.

Khorne's only victory was an Incarnate, meaning he tied with Mannfred.
>>

The problem isn't the logic, its the glorious Bretonnians worshiping an ELF.

Even worse, Elf Anakin Skywalker.

Worse still, a fucking blind Elf Anakin Skywalker who requires a wizard to see anything.

>>45329862
>Khorne's forces were defeated to the last in Naggaroth, the DE left because Malekith decided to push his claim.

Nope. Malekith fled, though some stayed behind to continue the fight, like Hellebron, she too had to eventually leave. Khorne stomped Naggaroth.

No Bretonnians have appeared anywhere in AoS, so I don't see what you're getting so flustered about. As far as we know, no Bretonnian worships Tyrion because they are all dead.
>>
>>45330103
Khorne wrecked Naggarond so bad that even if the dark elves did hold out they would have been a pale shadow of their former glory. 3 major cities fell pretty quickly, volroth had a garrison of 80,000 and fell before a relief force could even get there. only 1/5 of the naggarothi nobility were alive by the time malekith tried to leave. Valkia and Skarbrand were both defeated and that still did nothing. Dark elves ran away, the source would be End times Nagash and End times Khaine.

>>45330178
Says she's still flesh and blood, but she was powerful enough to join Sigmars Pantheon and be present at the battle of Burning skies. They mentioned "morathian sea fortresses" in one of the scenarios, so she's probably worshiped as a goddess by the mortals anyways.

I've been thinking about the Tomb Kings stuff. If they were getting squatted, keep an eye on the "Last Chance" section on GWs site. A lot of the TKs nicer kits are it's newer ones from, what, 3-4 years ago?

I think they maybe updating a few of the core models to work with the new death theme, with some more Arkhan-ish ascetics. Either that, or they're working TKs into whatever the construct army is

Ok, how about we introduce the bretonnians back into AoS?
Fluff: during the end times, king louen leoncoeur seems to have been raised to godhood by lileath after getting rekt by festus empowered. Im going to assume he goes to the haven, and when this gets destroyed, he and a large portion of the super-grail knight spirits guarding the place survive and make it to the realms. Eventually they settle in Hysh, the land which they have the greatest affinity for. Louen orders these super grail knights (Lightcast Illumiknights? in keeping with AoS corny naming) to crusade through the realms and free the tribes of peoples suffering under the lash of tyranny, or to slay dangerous beasts. Many primitive tribes are inspired by these chivalrous knights, and adopt a culture very similar to the brettonians of the world that was, though they honor Leonceur as their Patron god rather than the Lady. Louen still mourns the loss of his lover, the Lady, and Honors her in his every chivalrous deed. Thus does the cry "For the Lady" echo throughout the 8 realms, though for a slightly different reason. Louen believes that it was the Ladys sacrifice that allowed him and his knights to survive the end times, and sees it fit that those who honor him also give thanks to his fallen benefactor. Louen joined sigmars Pantheon and was a steadfast ally, but after the battle of burning skies he was forced to retreat back to Hysh. He ordered his knights to protect the last pure places they could find throughout the realms, no matter how meek or insignificant. Some sites perished under the onslaught of chaos, but many more held out through the age of chaos, bastions of hope and order in a sea of madness and death. With Sigmars storm breaking, the Fyreslayers returning to action, and the gates of Azyr being opened, Louen has declared a crusade to aid his old allies.

They will be. Just like Empire will be. Several times it has mentioned mortal men go out to fight with Sigmarines against Chaos. So I assume that is them.

>>
>>45334230
Don't worry. It's basically just the free rules combined together. Oh and for some reason Chaos can now take Dark Elf Harpies.

The entire book is just OP nonsense if you're Nurgle.

Tzeentch
Nurgle
Slaanesh
Khorne

Is the order in power.

It also has fluff about Slaanesh.

But it doesn't have any formations for Eshin, only for Skyre (technically not a formation, but you get bonuses to units if you take multiples of a single type).

All the clans have been split up

There is:

Masterclan (Thanquol + Verminking + Grey Seers)
Clan Verminus (Clan Rats, Storm Vermin)
Clan Skyre (Engineering)
Clan Moulder (Beasts)
Clan Pestilins (Plague)
Clan Eshin (Assassins)

So my guess is, since they don't have formations but the main Chaos forces do (well the monsters and shit don't) such as Slaves to Darkness, Beastmen, Specific Gods and so on, they'll get their own book with them soon.

People need to chill. I don't think Bretonnians have been squatted. Why? Because fucking Beastmen have rules and formations. So, since Bretonnia has rules like all the factions do, I assume it'll be released at some point.

The problem the guy raging seemed to have was the idea they worshipped and Elf.. Well they did. Lady of the Lake was an Elf. So them worshipping an Elf in AoS isn't going to fuck anything.
>>
>>45334387
I think its more them losing their identity as independant of Sigmar, and Tyrion being a pretty big step down from a possibly elven goddes, later revealed to be Lileath.
>>
>>45334367
Beastmen are split up into two 'factions'. Brayherds and Warherds.

Brayherds are Beastlords, Shamans and Ungors and shit. Warherds are for Doombulls, Bullgors and Gorgons.

There is one one formation, for Breyherds.

>a Wildstalker Brayherd consists of the following units:
>1 Beastlord
>1-3 Great Bray-Shamans
>2-6 units of Bestigors and/or Tuskgor Chariots
>3-9 units of Gors
>4-12 units of Ungors and/or Ungor Raiders

>Abilities:
>Primal Fury: goaded on b their chieftans and shamans, the beastmen become consumed by a savage fury, tearing apart the hated foe. Models from a Wildstalker Brayherd make one extra attack with each of their melee weapons whilst they are within 16" of their Beastlord. You can also re-roll wound rolls of 1 made for these models whilst they are within 16" of both their Beastlord and a Great Bray-Shaman from the same battalion
>Breyherd Ambush: Endowed with the cunning of the hunting pack, a Wildstalker Brayherd is adept at encircling the foe and attacking from an unexpected direction. Instead of setting up the units in a Wildstalker Brayherd on the battlefield, you can place them to one side. In your first movement phase you must set up all of these units wholly within 6" of the edges of the battlefield, and more than 9" away from any enemy models. This is the unit's move for the movement phase.

That's it.
>>
>>45334402
Well, we will have to wait and see. My assumption was Brets would be mortal Paladins instead of the immortal Sigmarine Paladins.

They would choose a God and worship and fight for them, regardless of who or what they are. Since they're probably mortal warriors who survived Age of Chaos or sons and daughters of them at least.

So that's my guess.
>>
>>45334372

>He knew it so well. The Master of Change was his lord and guide, but it was not the hand of Tzeentch that extended over the Thousand Portals. It was the touch of the Star-crawlers, the thieves that had taken the Cosmic Gate from the Great Architect in the distant eons of prehistory.

>They had a name, a mortal appellation that did nothing to convey the wholly interdimensional horror of their antithetical nature. The Slann. Starmasters. Heavenly lords dedicated to the purging of all that was and could be. A cleansing blandness that would stop the worlds in their orbits and split the realms from each other for eternity, trapping all in the cosmic amber of stasis.

What? I don't remember reading anything bout that. The Slann want Chaos defeated, that's it. Their fluff was nothing more than "We beat Chaos and if you help them, through choice or not, or you might somehow help them by just living, we'll kill you". Which was the same as WHFB. The curse of Tzeentch (I believe) that caused them to stay asleep in WHFB has been replaced by their minds knowing everything bout the past and future meaning they can't really see the present. They're like Fateweaver except it's constant. They have near infinite power (which is not possible, you're either infinite or you're not).

Yet this fluff says they locked this gate in pre-history. Meaning they did it before mankind and Elves and shit appeared. So Seraphon have been fighting Chaos in the realms before Sigmar and Co even arrived. Which is cool, but, again, just like WHFB.

I'm starting to think not much has changed at all in terms of fluff.
>>
>>45334482
Yeah, Beastmen are pretty good now.

Cygors, at full health, can throw their Boulder 18", has 4+ to hit, 2+ (!) to wound, -2 Rend and does D6 damage. That's pretty insane if it hits And you can re-roll it if it's against a Wizard.

Oddly enough, it's melee weapon, Massive Horns, is 4+ to hit, 3+ to wound, -1 rend and 1 damage, but at full health you do 8 attacks. It's also got a 2" range for some reason.

Best thing is, it can unbind two spells per turn and if you successfully do it, the enemy Wizard takes one MORTAL wound and the Cygor heals 1 wound.

Since it's got an insane range attack and isn't shabby in melee, it's pretty good. Has 14 Wounds, 7 Bravery. 8" move at full health. Only a 5+ save though, but you're ranged, so no worries.

Also Centigors and Jabberslythes are considered "Monsters of Chaos" now. So are Harpies.

I don't think the factions mean anything really.

Humans who have light wizards, worship tyrion, and wear silver armor with white robes. Im guessing they combine the high elf and light college aesthetic in their design.
