The reason I'm most excited for this is the fact that they just may bring primarchs back for 40K. Lion and Russ are still both alive, Sanguinious may have some shit going on, every chapter of the blood angels line is even gathered around their home planet. I'm cautiously following this storyline, it'd be interesting to have them confront a shard of Magnus as well.

we've been battle brothers a long time now. Through thick and thin we've been able to stay the course (remember the Medusa Schism? boy that fucking sucked).

That's why it's so hard to have to tell you guys this...
The whole "metal over flesh" thing, while true and ordained by the Omnissiah, only really "works" if you're efficient about it.

Like I get that getting a new bionic is liable to give you a stiffy and I'd be lying if what's left of my cock doesn't get that much harder when I get a new mechandendrite socketed but the Mechanicus only "upgrades" when it makes sense.

Take a minute to imagine all the servomechanics and metal you'd save if you didn't lop off one of every recruits hand? For the sake of time we've already had Logis Kenzor take a swing at and the results are pretty telling.
Know how you don't really have much Tactical Dreadnough Armor to spare?

Well...let's just say we know where all the resources that could've been spent building more have ended up at.

Anyway, just wanted to give some friendly advice before the next time the Administratum has a gander at your books.

Baal is being overrun by the tyranids, successor chapters are falling everywhere, and then warp rifts.
Every ship that the lamenters lost, and knowing their luck, it's alot of them, show up, warping into key hive ships, likely killing most of marines and crewmen, but the sons of the angel have a chance and they drive off the tyranids.
And then like 4 different chapter masters of the lamenters meet up and dont know what to do about rank.

My problem is that they have no personality outside of "The Flesh Is Weak" which it's proven to be incorrect and that's it. They have NOTHING else that stands out.

The ginormous event that caused the Iron Hands to experience a Chapter-wide character development.

Due to the death of Ferrus Manus and the 10K years of suppressed emotions by the Iron Hands, the Sapphire King was spawned.

A Slaaneshi Daemon Prince that represented all the suppressed emotions by the Iron Hands, it turned those who came close to him into Chaos Spawns or outright corrupted them the more the sons of Manus tried to fight it with logic.

The Iron Hands permanently destroyed the Daemon Prince and its host comprised of Emperor's Children and Slaaneshi Daemonkin by finally deactivating their emotion inhibitors and turning into cyborg Angry Marines.

Since then they went out to try to control their emotions instead which resulted in them becoming nicer.

I've been working on an Iron Hands successor, and part of their fluff is that they're supposed to be just tech-heretical enough that their parent chapter and the Mechanicus don't want much to do with them. That and they're actually pretty nice for Iron Hands successors.

But is believing that the spirits of their battle brothers live on as machine spirits of their armor, weapons, bionics, and vehicles really heretekal? Specifically that the machine spirits aren't spirits of machines, but of men. I need to know if this is a flawed concept or not.
