Simian Spirit Guide is gone from TCGPlayer. I expect Urborg to disappear next.
autism is taking a mathematical concept and demanding that the world rigidly adhere to that, as well as not being able to understand when the world doesn't adhere to that. not being able to accept that in practice on the 10 rating scale 7 is the actual average in real world ratings because its not the definition of the mean is autism.
First of all, the deck that uses these cards is so fundamentally overpowered i dont know why people are bothering to buy in. Eye of Ugin is suddenly Mishra's Workshop, and as banhappy as WotC is, its going away.
At least, it will once pack sales dry up. Twin died for this, faggots.
I'm from the uk. it's true for the internet as a whole and anything that uses ratings. imdb, 5 star rating systems on websites, metacritic, literally anything where things are rated out of 10
>2/3 decks can't use non-basic lands
What in the actual fuck?
I think it means that if you were to pool all three decks together, basically shuffling them all together into one giant deck for decklist purposes, they'd still have to be legal.
So between the three decks you can only have four copies of any card aside from basics and relentless rats.
It means the format is 3v3 and between a team's 3 decks, you're only allowed 4 copies of any one card. This also used to apply to land as you might logically assume, but now they're hamfisting it so that only one deck can use any nonbasic land AT ALL. This is quite literally destroying Modern's metagame forcibly.
true, but i've met people who wouldn't watch a film because it was only rated 7.5. The case is even worse with videogames. Designers have publically complained about getting a review of 8 out of 10. Rating systems mean very little nowadays.
Here's to hoping Thalia 2.0 is a bear that neuters Eldrazi somehow. My Aether Vials have never been more ready to throw down.
>Thalia, Purifier of Thraben
>2/1, First Strike
>W: Until end of turn, target land is a basic Plains.
>"Fuck your 8 Ancient Tombs."
>10 rating scale 7 is the actual average in real world ratings
No Anon, you're just retarded.
Stop pretending that video game reviews are "The real world", no other branch of criticism works like this.
In the sense that there's a tradeoff, yeah. Basically you can have one person hog all the spots for fetches/shocks/etc, but it means other players on your team need to either use basics or find other nonbasics to run in their place. Or each person could run 1.33 of each of the nonbasics.
>Look at an article on wizards about "What to expect at the pro tour"
>The only mention of eldrazi is some janky eldrazi control deck
>"With nearly 10,000 legal cards, Modern at Pro Tour Oath of the Gatewatch promises to be one of the most exciting formats we've ever had the pleasure of observing. Don't miss your chance to join us in Atlanta, Georgia, this weekend as we watch all the Pro Tour action unfold in beautiful high definition!"
>1W - 2 loyalty
>+1: Put a 1/1 Soldier token with first strike onto the battlefield.
>-2: Destroy target nonbasic land. Its controller may search their library for a basic land card and put it into their hand.
>-4: You get an emblem with "Spells your opponents control cost 1 more to cast. White spells you control cost 1 less to cast."
your autism is starting to shine through here. I knew it would be an issue with the topic since this is the kind of thing autists are passionate about- the world not following your head rules. check any ratings site. 3.5 is average out of 5 and 7 is average out of 10. 2 of the review sites I use the most often are coffee and beer reviews. take a guess as to what the average is.
its unfortunate the world doesn't suite autists but that is the way it is
I haven't paid a lot of attention to BfZ or OGW cards, haven't watched any tournaments in a while. Can someone tell me what the fuck is happening? Did WotC fuck up again? Is this a blunder on the same scale as affinity?
>Played 6 mana worth of creatures on turn 1
I got banned from Twitch chat because a mod told me I was walking a thin line when I typed BUGS AND THUGS in chat, but clarified by saying that this doesn't mean I think thin people are better than others. So I said that I respect his opinion and personally think fat people are hideous and got banned.
Eldrazi have two sol lands from the old Zendikar. But the thing is that in OGW (and to an extent in BFZ but not as much) they printed a shitton of smaller, more efficient Eldrazis (like Reality Smasher) and made them all colorless with a new keyword
Yeah WotC printed a shit fuck ton of undercosted colorless eldrazi and gambled that eye of ugin wouldnt break them in modern. They lost that bet and now Eldrazi CLEANED HOUSE at the PT.
They first banned the two strongest Modern decks out of the format and immediately after released cards that can get 13 mana worth of value with 25 damage on-board out by turn 2.
basically, they printed sol lands for the eldrazi back when the cheapest eldrazi was like 7 or 9, average was 10+
but then wizards thought they would print some eldrazi for 2-5 mana ( that are also ridiculously good value creatures like a 5/5 trample haste for 5 with protection from removal, and an almost better clique )
sol lands of course still exist in modern so add extreme value creature and sol lands meant to cast gigantic fatties and you have this
I'm kind of surprised at how aggressive these new eldrazis are. Even putting aside the Eldrazi Mimic into Reality Smasher plays, just Reality Smasher on its own seems really pushed. 5/5 trample haste with removal protection for 4C, it just feels like it shouldn't be available with only colorless mana.
Nope. Wizards knows the last 2cmc planeswalker was unplayable garbage, so if they ever printed another at 2 odds are good they'd overcompensate. Failing the "Bolt test" is also probably a big enough "downside" in their minds that more powerful abilities at 2 loyalty could pass muster.
The +1 is fairly whatever, though first strike is a stretch in hindsight. The -2 is a mixed bag, as they're on a kick of never letting lands come down off spells/abilities. The effect itself is a mix of Ghost Quarter and Tec Edge, falling between the two in terms of what it can target, how fast it works, and whether or not it replaces the land. The -4 is irrelevant because ultimates are 90% of the time.
Clearly it'd only be likely as a fuckup, and not especially likely even then. But there's a rationale behind the details that's in line with how Wizards has fucked up in the past.
how did they decide on the broken piece of shit it is now?
it could've at the very least been 2CC or 1CCC
Not really, no. It's a Stone Rain that trades -1cmc for restrictions and replacing the card in hand.
A worse Time Walk would get a lot more design scrutiny than a different Stone Rain.
An elf shouldn't have hips like that. Jesus
I like that the eldrazi deck also runs several phyrexian cards
If the ult comes out on turn 4 it's not irrelevant you dumb cunt. Planeswalker ultimates are generally irrelevant because walkers cost enough mana that your opponent will usually have some sort of a board that will threaten to just kill you/your walker before the ult matters.
Your stupidly imbalanced card comes down turn 2, after you played a 1 drop if you are in white weenies/soul sisters or you path to exiled their 1 drop. Then it creates a token to protect itself. Turn 3 you do literally anything, create ANOTHER chump blocker to stop their goyf or whatever, and then ult turn 4. If you are on the play it becomes even worse for your opponent, to the point where they NEED to have a bolt in hand or they fall to an unplayble deficit of card advantage.
>Whenever a nonbasic land would produce mana, that land produces W instead.
>Each nonbasic land is a [Insert Basic Land Type].
>Nonbasic lands enter the battlefield tapped.
>[Variable]: Tap target nonbasic land.
>1: Kick LSV in the balls and quit the game. Gain 1 life.
>mfw out of magic for a while, randomly stumble to the PT stream
>realize that I had an eldrazi tribal fun deck back in zendikar, checking boxes yep still got it
>eye of ugin is $40-50
>bought my playset back then for under $10
guess the play is to sell now right? or will it go higher?
What I don't get it how eldrazi is so good? We have a ton of land hate
How could eldrazi possibly spiral out of control!?
>mfw I play edh
>all those butthurt modernbabbies getting raped by eldrazi
>in edh, turn 2 kozilek gets his ass stifled and gets gangraped by the whole table
>newlamog and his buddy oblivion sower are fun
>edh still casts the titans unlike modern
Doesn't come online until after they've Knotted you, beaten you down, and stolen your lunch money.
4 Quarters versus 8 Tombs, and one activation puts them one basic ahead of you by the time they drop yet another Tomb to replace the one you took.
Costs 4 to activate. The fuck are you even thinking playing this.
T2, tap down, suck my Knot.
Again, they've raped your face off by then or are at least set up to do so.
I mean the best you can do is something like Workshop and Ancient Tomb to Sol Ring, Basalt Monolith and Rings go infinite and even that's christmas land. All of that falls to a single Nature's Claim.
>last time they jacked up a price early, it was Kalitas
>Kalitas did indeed jump in price two days later.
The ship is about to sail.
what's your issue anon, only 6 eldrazi in the top8 just like at the PT. haven't you heard them singing praises about the PT diversity of this weekend?
>tfw sold mine for 10 dollars
Fucking meme decks man.
>mfw I have core Eldrazi cards that were never valuable before
>mfw I can finally buy those Snapcasters
>by selling out of the T0 deck
My only consolation is that at this rate Eldrazi will eat a ban, and bad.
LSV was the faggot who started the
>Ban this dude who beat my teammate because we google everyone that beats a CFB member to try and get them disqualified
Better question, how is he not a faggot?
Mother of fucking god
For once Magic failed to take a lesson from Hearthstone instead of the other way around. Double-Mechwarper openings that let you dump your whole hand were the godhand during the heyday of Mech Mage, and Eye does that on it's own. This is what cost-reduction does, it just needed the aggressive creatures to pair with it. Even Affinity didn't have that many literal affinity creatures, it had other broken things to do instead.
He was the one who started the ban Zach Jesse twitter witch hunt.
He was the one who posted on twitter "Lets get this guy banned" to Drew levin
JC Tao the cheating chink in the finals because neither the judges nor LSV, a magic turbo-autist, registered he didn't have colourless mana. Because it makes no sense at all for anus to be a colour requirement.
Glorious. Who /selling their collections?
I don't know why you people think an "emergency" ban is going to happen. Shit's going to happen in April, not now. They would open up too many cans of worms if they banned any part of the deck now, especially when nobody's had a chance to shit all over the deck. Plus it sets a bad precedent to ban cards not during the normal ban schedule.
He linked the guys criminal history to Drew Levin before the whole thing began.
LSV also threw a fit on twitter about the Jim Davis article and was one of the people screaming for SCG to take it down.
As far as I know, outside of a job that requires full disclosure of your criminal past, nothing else in life gives anybody the "right" to know about your criminal history let alone any other aspect of your life.
You're not even legally required to inform your partner that you have fucking HIV. Although that is going to change.
RotE Linvala is a better card, but OGW Linvala has better art.
I make good money off modern while only playing Highlander and limited and visit those threads just for shits'n'giggles. I'll sell some cards from my binder for 3x the money after this tournament. Thanks modern
>I'm dumping modern for legacy
>Modern just costs too much
You can "lose" a legal Modern deck and buy a new one four-times over and only then would it cost as much as a Legacy deck.
Whatever you're running from you're only going to meet the same shit on the other end.
lsv is pretty sjw but so are a large portion of mtg players
political correctness is a growing trend in nerdy hobbies
I don't care about his deck as long as it's not Eldrazi. Bring it home, Dickmann.
Do it for her.
There are several Legacy decks which don't run duals. Those decks are cheaper than any competitive Modern archetype. Modern staples are constantly being price hiked, Legacy staples aren't. Modern will only grow more expensive from here on out. Legacy will probably stay around the same.
I'm considering selling out of everything. Costs too much to put a new legacy deck together for the one legacy event a year that runs here. On top of that this eldrazi shit seems strong and fast enough to get under a lot of Legacy and I'll have to see this trash art at some point in the tourneys anyway.
LSV is fun when streaming MTG, but as soon as he comments on literally anything else, you realize that he is a true cultural marxist.
He literally banned me from the VSL twitch chat for saying that I dislike Rich Shay.
The entire CFB crew is a bunch of disgusting leftists.
"Hey guys, let's not call them manlands anymore. We should rather call them personlands, manlands is sexist!"
Well 3 years ago Wizards printed a card called Splatter Thug. 2 days ago Wizards formally apologized on stream for having the word "Thug" appear on screen. It's terrifying the speed at which this cult of Ouroborisian political correctness has exploded.
Spoilers, most people in real life aren't pathetic /pol/tards on 4chan. Everyone hates you.
lsv is the supreme redditor, he's like the platonic ideal of reddits
the only way eldrazi gets banned any faster is if its like 50% of a gp or some shit and thats not happening since most people dont just buy a whole modern deck and usually just play what they have
Allows T1/T2 board wipes probably building into Supreme Verdicts, and runs a full set of LeySanc. Its only creature would likely be Giest which can't be stolen.
Name me a strategy for control that has better game against the Eldrazi fueled abomination of a deck that 6/8'd the top 8 for a PT AND a PTQ this weekend. I'll wait, because I honestly want to know.
Affinity = disgusting degenerates who should all die
Eldrazi = sophisticated gentlemen with taste and social skills
I hate people who parade around with MLP shit in the same way I hate people who walk around with Batman logos on their shit.
With few exceptions most of those people who advertise their likes on their clothing like that know absolutely fucking nothing about the property. They're just useless fucking people. One of the most disheartening social moments of my life was discovering that people who wear "nerd" clothes don't know shit about the property. You advertise your love for that thing, but then someone calls you out on it and it turns out you don't love it? Fuck you.
>Because he's funny and has a likeable personality, most people apart from faggots here either don't care about politics or agree with him
Only progressive fucktards such as yourself can stand him once they find out what he's like. In my experience, most people can't stand progressives.
Okay guys, let's judge the player by his fucking political standings. How the fuck is that relevant to his player skills? I tend to hate SJW movement (thank god there is none of that bullshit where I live), but how is his support related to his playing skills? Just watch two players do what they do, and take your shit back to /pol/.
