Hope you bought your Eyes/Temples/Urborgs if you want to play Modern for the next few months.
You may only pick ONE option:
>Wizards bans Eye of Ugin
>Wizards bans all cards with a white border and unbans everything else
white border objectively looks better, I've asked non magic players and they overwhelmingly prefer white border
you only think white border is worse because you associate it with low value
the correct choice is to reintroduce white border but only for high value cards, all mythics and foils as well as rare promos will now be white border
Easy. The second option. It would allow me to finally play a proper Elves deck in Modern.
Remember the good old days, when Tron was the boogeyman?
Man, Thursday was a good day.
Maynard is at least at shitter shattered right now

2x Rest in Peace
2x Stony Silence
How good is this?
>Karn is too slow and can't stabilize a board
>Ugin does literally nothing
>Wurmcoil is the only hope Tron has and it just gets Thought Nazi'd away, or Ghost Quarters slow you down too much as they swing for 10 damage on turn two and three
Avoids Surgical Extraction and similar effects.
I decided to not care about eldrazi and just hope to not get matched against it. In the case I change my mind, what would you in the sideboard to help me?
was this mono white eldrazi list anywhere on the pro tour or is this new tech
2/10, too few Eldrazis
They perfectly did know what would have happened. Now modern is overrun by cards of a set still in printing. WOTC can now get loadsa money without forcing standard PTs. I don't blame them.
With a sideboard of something like 1 Chalice 1 Anti-LD of your choice 1-2 Pithing Needle 2-4 Melira 1-4 Anti-burn (Swagtusk, Feed the Clan), Gut Shots, Nature's Claims and Warping Wails you have a chance to bounce back g2/3 vs all of those. 15-20 damage by t3 with a free thoughtseize from Eldrazi Workshop is too much but either Temple or Eye is getting banned after the PT anyway.
I don't. Stony Silence and Ghost Quarter makes the matchup pretty 50/50.
It doesn't hurt to split the sisters, to be honest. So it's just an extra precaution that I have no reason not to take.
> Stony Silence and Ghost Quarter
As a Tron pilot, trust me it really doesn't. A Ghost Quarter is so much negative tempo for you while allowing me to cast Stirrings and Scrying without an egg or giving you life it's not even funny, your best bet is to beat my face in with a fat Pridemate by t3/4. Tron never keeps an opener without Nature's Claim g2/3 unless it has natural Wurm/Ugin/Karn t3 (on the play you can crack map before SS).
tron has always been weak to decks that are very fast and that is what eldrazi is, it comes out fast and is also huge and resiliant against the removal that tron has
you need fast tron and a wurmcoil or you are in trouble
worst of all is that tron just isnt better than eldrazi at anything, theres no advantage to the deck
Honestly, the only rough matches sisters had were tron, bogles and bloom. I'm not sure how it would fare against eldrazi, but with the lifegain, token chumps, and ghost quarters I could see it win. Getting a serra's ascendant online would probably win the game.
Same. He was already spewing shit about the format being too aggressive post-Twin ban. This shit is gonna push him over the edge.
Yes. If LSV can win this, he'll have won the last 2 PTs to have 6 copies of the same deck in the top 8.
I can only imagine he poking his pizza slice shaped nose in lil girls peepee.
Is there any argument for putting a mirror gallery into these eldrazi decks, for mad crazy Eye's of Ugin?
Don't underestimate the sisters. You can grind harder than jund, eat burn and go just as fast as affinity. Gonna start playing it again and see how it does. My lgs was full of tron so I stopped for a while. Maybe the meta has changed enough now. My other deck is pretty good against eldrazi anyway, but I'd like to be able to handle them either way.
I don't think you know how to build good decks if you think hamfisting a card into your deck to try and enable a cute synergy could be viable. Like, you could just play a fucking mana rock instead.
Shit I cashed regionals with a 7-3 record with this list. Lost to infect twice and tron once. But did beat a tron player some how.
Eye is fine compared to temple. Even if eye was banned, temple still allows for turn 2 thought-knot and turn 2 reality smasher with simian spirit guide. Eye of Ugin is legend so they can't play two and Ugin + Urborg doesn't allow for the turn 2 thought-knot.
It's broken in the same way tron is: as soon as wizards starts printing better ways to interact with nonbasic land bases, it'll crumble into dust.
And while I'm at it,
Nothing's as fast as it since they keep banning stuff.
If they ban eye then we'll get a grindy eldrazi deck early plays replaced with targeted discard and removal. (jundrazi/junkdrazi) Likely heartless summoning to get the discounts, the creatures are great. The mana base will be fragile as fuck.
You would think for people trying to get scg points and money, people would of been talking about the meta for the regionals event. But everyone was talking about the horror show that was the PT
But it doesn't allow for degenerate turn 2 and 3 plays. Sure they can play mimic and endless one for free, but it prevents a turn 2 thought-knot and a turn 3 reality smasher without simian. Plus it makes colorless mana matter more as ugin doesn't generate colorless even with urborg.
>upgrade ghost quarter to wasteland in eldrazi deck
>thought knot you, cabal therapy you after seeing your hand, flashback cabal therapy by sacrificing an eldrazi scion
This is a horrible idea
Does this flow chart seem more accurate than the old one?
The top 8 is a bigger pool though and it's more accurate at showing what's good in the meta. I feel like you are being contrarian for no reason, my dude
Eye of Ugin is the logical ban. It takes away some of the acceleration, it isn't in print anymore, and it takes away the inevitability of the game.
Also knocks tron down a slight peg, which is always a plus.
>yfw Dickmann is currently Magic's Donald Trump, defending the metagame from the foreign hordes
Fell the eldrazi's massive juicy hard cock, my anus is so ready it was born for this.
> All hail eldrazi's massive tentacles and cock!
My anus is bleeding.
You cannot resist... but their cock will be all mine!
Y'all niggas be bitching yet Uwr Kiki control became an amazing meta California eldrazi. Runs paths, bolts and mana leaks. Shit is good.
Watched a guy go undefeated yesterday, losing only 2 games the entire day
Team "invested into Eye in January" represent
>Dickmann is our last hope
The hero we need right now.
This is what modern has become.
>This is the First Modern Pro Tour without Copies of Lightning Bolt or Tarmogoyf in the Top 8
On the contrary. I think they deliberately print cards that are format warping for modern, to get it to drive sales.
I can't wait for Jeskai Ascendancy to get the next format warping madness cards in SoI.
>this is the first modern pro tour without copies of lightning bolt or tarmogoyf in the top 8
>people bitch about Pod because it's "stagnating the format", whatever the fuck that means
>so WotC bans Pod, despite it barely ever actually winning anything
>people bitch about Twin because it's "suppressing blue decks and if you're playing blue there's no reason to not just play Splinter Twin"
>so WotC bans Twin, DESPITE IT BARELY EVER ACTUALLY WINNING ANYTHING
>people bitch about Eldrazi, because it just 6/8 the Top 8 of the Pro Tour
Chapin said it best last night, there's no fucking winning with Modern because everyone will just bitch about whatever shit ass new deck becomes the new kid on the block.
This format is fucking garbage, but not because of WotC, because of the players and their fanatical need to ban everything.
>Chapin said it best last night, there's no fucking winning with Modern because everyone will just bitch about whatever shit ass new deck becomes the new kid on the block.
Is it worth it to trade out of Burn and into Memedrazi? If so, which build do I make? I already have a playset of strands I could use in the draft chaff version, but that already lost out to affinity. Whose list is the best?
I don't disagree with what you're saying, but the suggestion that Twin "barely won anything" is ludicrous. Twin won 2 PTs, with many more top 8s and was similarly dominant on the GP scene, I think it won something like 7 GPs and put up a bunch more top 8s too.
Anybody got a link to Frank's processor build??
Butt pic in return
As long as they keep doing, what makes you think people will stop doing it?
Also I believe their motives for banning twin, and pod to some point, were not that simple and had more to do with their own self interest. They downright said after the fact that part of the twin ban was "Making the pro tour exciting" not to even mention their clear intent to push BFZ cards this whole event which would have happened even if memedrazi didn't break the pro tour.
Jeskai Ascendancy is going to be the next meme deck. Madness is being reprinted in SoI and will be extremely pushed to sell cards to modern audiences.
Eye of Ugin is going to be banned before the next pro tour.
normally I'd say just google it or check the mtg site but its legit a challenge to find anything on wotcs shitty website
Eldrazi draft chaff has the better match up in the mirror. Other eldrazi beats everything else.
I'm looking down the road post ban, grindy eldrazi decks the creatures are too good to pass up for the built in card advantage and as finishers. B/g/x stirrings, heartless summoning, rape people's hands with thoughtseize and Iok.
I'm uneducated southern white trash living in a run down camping trailer working off the books for a cash sum that is less than minimum wage and even I know you're fucking retarded.
To be fair, Chapin is a fucking moron. A few of the very loudest, most obnoxious people were bitching about the fact that Siege Rhino just got slammed into Pod, and so Pod got the axe for the "design space" argument they occasionally drag out and ritualistically beat with shit like SFM. Nobody was bitching about Twin. The deck wasn't dominating, it didn't break the rules, and the ban came seemingly out of fucking nowhere. Anyone who didn't have their nose firmly planted in WotC's collective ass was left wondering what the hell Wizards was thinking, because the Twin ban doesn't make blue better.
Eldrazi, on the other hand? People have been muttering about this here and there since OGW got spoiled. There was a general realization, especially among older players and pros, that we already kinda had two Sol lands for that deck already, and that Legacy-style Eldrazi Stompy was going to be a thing. Even a few people on cardsellers' payrolls questioned whether the decision was intended to let Eldrazi flourish at the PT.
6/8-ing the Top 8 is only causing people to bandwagon behind something the smart players already knew: letting Eldrazi have 8 sol lands and then printing cheaper, more efficient Eldrazi was a horrible decision.
So apparently Sam Black went 8-2 in Modern with Lantern (lost to Burn and Affinity) against Eldrazis, everyone start windmill slamming your bridges?
Although Lantern's only mb answer to t1 chalice for 1 is Abrupt Decay, which might come a bit too late to if you want to land a bridge and needle Ratcher Bomb.
ESPECIALLY if they're african american! wouldn't want to be racist, it's [current year]!
Except that "design space" is a fucking specious argument for SFM anyway. Wizards' new sets have been trending downward in power for the past 3 years, there is no remote possibility that they print an equipment that's BETTER than Batterskull. And look at what a turn 3 4/4 would do in this format
F U C K I N G
The wierd thing is that the bw eldrazi build that started the hype wasn't even played. That version and the other midrange versions could survive a eye ban which despite everyone's bitching I don't see happening before they ban the tron lands. The main reason it was so dominate is because it's new and people tried a completely new build of it that hasn't been seen before. And affinity still dominated like usual but no ban calls there.
So I hear EDH/commander can be fun. What are some fun
Pic possibly related. I have a foil of her that's not doing anything at the moment.
>What is the proper sign language for Thought Knot Seer? Or Eldrazi Temple?
>45 of the cards are the exact same
>implying there is a fucking difference when they're both combo decks that optimally involve playing your entire hand by turn two, three if you're unlucky
>>45278455 this faggot here again
What about dickmann's affinity list? Surely affinity isn't up for the chopping block anytime soon, and the costs of Burn and Affinity are fairly similar, so I could sell out on Burn to buy affinity easily.
I'll just stick to Burn then. I just get tired of casting bolt effects, and after losing to affinity at regionals yesterday and seeing dickman play with it today, I'm starting to admire the deck
Funny, considering that Melee is far more diverse character-wise than Sm4sh. Most characters that aren't bottom of the barrel like Pichu see some degree of competitive play, while you see the same shit over and over again in Sm4sh because of how braindead it is.
>People here consider Jackie Lee a 6/10
Or his whore mouth. In fairness I don't know what this person looks like because I'm deliberately avoiding the stream because of shit like this, and "Jackie" could also be a man's name.
So he/she needs to shut their whore mouth.
Will we see a card like this added in innistrad?
Also one of the commentators said reality smasher originally costed four colorless mana. Maybe the card would have been balanced if the eldrazi deck couldn't use urborg or any other color.
>Will we see a conditional Ancestral Recall in Innistrad?
Before treasure cruise I would have laughed at the suggestion, now I'm actually not sure. Probably not for a single U though.
In the layer system the characteristics of an object (card, spell or permanent in this case) is first defined by the things printed on the card, then by continuous effects that change those characteristics. TL.DR. Painter's servant overrides devoid.
