Bane is the lawful evil god of tyrants, order, law, tyranny and hate. He's kind of like the God Emperor sans the human supremacy bent. He's my favorite god for nuanced villains because he represents a chance equally for mustache twirling selfish assholes and good intentioned blood knights equally. For me, Bane was always the ultimate pragmatist, the Doctor Doom of the Forgotten Realms. And Dr. Doom is pretty badass.
