Welcome to Lego Highwayman Adventure! The quest thread where you play as a plastic burglar in search of forbidden treasure.
[I am not LegoQuest guy, I am however very fond of his work and decided what the hell, might as well get in on the fun]
Our adventure begins here, along the border between Malsburg and the Duchy of Winkelried...

Contemplate your life choices. Why are you doing this? What lead you to the life of banditry? Shouldn't you put this all behind, seek redemption and become a proper honest man?
"1, 2 - 4 guards at the post... Seemed to be led by a Knight but I can't determine his rank - maybe Sergeant or even Lieutenant?"
[Roll a 1d12 along with the contents of your post to decide what we do next]
>>45051934
(Feelings of remorse, guilt, and regret begin to wash over you; for all the people that you've hurt)
"I can't focus on that now, not on a job - I need to find the manuscript."

Get on your steed and fall back. Set up camp somewhere out of the way and wait until nightfall before returning to this post.
>>45052385
Uh oh.
>>45052385
(You approach the outpost, the guards leap to attention - quickly grabbing their weapons. The Knight in charge draws their sword upon your approach)
>[Voice Obscured] "YOU THERE! HALT! Surrender all weapons you have for confiscation. HAVE YOU TRAVEL PAPERS READY!"
"Here's a flower. Let me through."
>>45052750
(After what feels like an eternity of silence, the Knight finally begins to move. As if in a trance they drop their sword and reach for their helmet...)
>'F-For me?"
(The Knight appears visibly shaken, perhaps petrified even by your Roguish charms. She reaches for the flower slowly, not out of caution, but of hypnotic infatuation)

Can love bloom on the battlefield? yes it does!

Backflip over her, whistle for your horse and run past the checkpoint whilst blowing her a kiss.
>>45052996
(The guards, confused, look toward their commander for orders. She doesn't notice them, all she seems still be frozen. Taking advantage of the circumstances you leap to your horse effortlessly and gallop furiously away before any of the guards can react)
>>45053197
(Quickly, you look back toward the knight. Her eyes still looked on you, still standing frozen in place. She makes no effort to subdue you. You wink and blow a kiss her way)
>>45053257
(Reacting to your romantic gesture, the knight topples over as if physically struck by the blown kiss. She collides with the ground in a thunderous crash.]
>"Is she okay?"
>"Sergeant, are you hit? What's wrong?!"
>"Ma'am, do we pursue?"
(She clutches the flower tightly to her heart and lovingly sighs as she sees you make your escape onto the frontier)
>>45053375
So where the hero is going now ?
[We've made it through the guard post effortlessly, and have reached the untamed frontier. The guards at the post will have no doubt attempted to contact the nearby patrols but with the commander in the state she's in you probably won't have to worry about being followed.]
(The frontier - wild, untamed, and free. Sorta like you! You expected to take a lot more time than you did breaching the checkpoint. The bureaucratic Winkelriedians aren't exactly known for their hospitality. With time on your side, you're left with a few options...)
>Explore the frontier for a while
>Set up camp for the night
>Continue riding to your objective.
Which do you choose, Highwayman?

(Aimlessly, you ride in any direction that suits your fantasy. You've heard rumors of this before: Ferocious beasts, bloodthirsty marauders, unpredictable Elves, and carnivorous sinkholes! In fearless defiance you power ahead)
(After riding for some time, you finally spot something interesting. Far in the distance you see a man, clearly distraught and wildly waving his hands toward you. You begin to ride toward him. He appears to be a ranger, hunter or some kind of forester. He's armed with a large crossbow.)
>"HELP! PLEASE! STOP!"

(While you were attempting to coerce the forester into disarming, your horse had other plans, namely finding a delicious selection of pasture to snack on. He quickly shifts directions bucking you off. You smack into the ground, mouth full of dirt and your weapons spilled out before you)

>waaaaaaah

I'm sure the effort it takes to shift-click the thread was just awful.

(Humiliated, you try to redeem yourself with an impressive display of acrobatics. In the blink of an eye, you jump to your feet, spit out the dirt from your mouth and grab the cutlass and pistol. Unfortunately, you gripped the trigger too tightly on your pistol causing it to unintentionally fire...)
>>45054467
(You killed your horse)

>Awwww NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I should stay at home.
Cry like a bayby.
Rolled 9 (1d12)
>>45054504
Big NOOO!!!
Rush over and try and save the horse, cry if we can't.
A highwayman is nothing without his horse.
>>45054539
"B-Bucephalus? BUCEPHALUS! NOOOOO!"
(You rush to the fatally wounded horse, cradling his head while fitfully sobbing. You do your best ot comfort the dying creature. Bucephalus looks back at you, frightened and in pain)

(Reaching for your pistol, you tearfully begin to reload. You point the flintlock pistol toward him, hoping to put the poor beast out of its misery. You notice Bucephalus staring back at you, clearly scared and confused.)
"Forgive me, Bucephalus"
(You cock the gun and start to squeeze the trigger)
>>45054925
>"STOP YOU BLUNDERING IDIOT! WE CAN STILL SAVE HIM! JUST BLOODY LISTEN TO ME!"
Roll a 1d12 to see if we stop in time before we pull the trigger!
Rolled 10 (1d12)
>>45054969
>>45054983
"Huh?"
(The forester unsuspected yelling startles you, causing you turn your head... and once again discharge your pistol accidentally. Luckily the forester was quick enough to jump out of the way in time. The pistol strikes a nearby tree, toppling it)
>>45055057
>"Put the bloody gun away already!"
>>45055118
> Mmm'key, who are you, and how you will help Bucephalus ?. Ouuu and why you call for help ?
>>45052887
(You drop your pistol and rush to help the forester to his feet. He spits the dirt from his mouth, dusts himself off and looks for his hat. You picked it up and hand it to him)
>"Damned fool, if you hadn't tried to puff out your chest your friend here would still be on all fours. Buggering idiot..."
(As he reaches for his cap he sees that tears are streaming down your eyes and his hardened expression softens)
"I uh...look sorry...The name's Taggart. I'm one of Duke Winkelried's Royal Huntsmen. I was an escort for the Duke's son, the young Earl of Winkelried. We were out searching for Bull Slugs when we were hit... hard. I think they were Elves. Most of our party was killed. In the chaos I... lost the Earl. I think they kidnapped him along with the other survivors."
"How will this save Bucephalus?"
>"I was just about to get to that part... we were travelling with a Cleric, a good one too. The Bishop of Featherby. There's a hope, albeit a slim one, that we can sttill save your horse, but we need to act NOW! I can't do this alone."
>>45055495
Then there's no time to lose!
reload the pistol and follow the huntsman
>>45055543
"i'll do what ever it takes to save Bucephalus."
>"Good. I have a bit of bandage here with me, see? I'll patch him up while you grab your effects. It won't save him... but it'll stop the bleeding for now."
Rolled 10 (1d12)
>>45055675
Pickpocket him when he turns to bandage Bucephalus...we can't get rusty
>>45055675
(As Taggart patches Bucephalus up, you grab your dagger, cutlass, and pistol.)
>"The caravan was hit not far from here in that direction. I have reason to believe that the Elves or whoever attacked us are still in the area so we need to move now if we don't want to lose them... and make sure you're ready. This could get bloody. Well, bloodier. Speaking of blood...There we go! All bandaged up! I think I've managed to stopped the bleeding... for now."
>>45055740
(While Taggart's back is turned to you, you reach into his pocket and find a large Dribble Weed, famous for its ability to put men and beast to sleep if ingested! We should probably give this to Bucephalus to stop the pain...)
>"Okay lad, let me arm up and then we'll be on our way... Huh, now where did I put that Dribble Weed...?"
(As Taggart prepares for the adventure ahead you feed Bucephalus the Dribble Weed calming the scared, confused and seriously wounded beast. Bucephalus falls asleep not long after consuming the herb)
"I will return."
Alright guys, that's all I have time for. Hope you had fun, I know I did.
If anybody wants me to, I can continue this story at a later date. Thanks for playing.
