We need an update on the status of the Warp Drive...I hope progress has been made for one.
And while you're at it, best to check that everyone is all right after yesterday's debacle...how in the Warp did that even happen....
I'm telling you that it's the real deal lass. And it's bloody intact, It might just be worth the risk now.
>Alice gestures to the STC on the crates in front of them, thankfully on the Star, away from prying eyes.
Wanna see for yourself?
>Hauls himself out of his bunk, empty bottle of Rahzvod rattling on the metallic floor, muttering
There are no miracles, only men.
>Dressing himself to look as a Commissar should
>Alice pulls a spare Dataslate from her map case and, after severing the network connection, connects the STC and hands the Slate to LIX.
Take a look. It's all there, diagnostic'll confirm it's intact.
>wanders through engineering for a while eventually finding one of the workers who doesn't seem too busy
Hey there, we're just wondering what's taking the warp drive?
anyone want to be the engineer?
>kicks his door open
>He's groggy and grouchy
>smells of dirt, promethium, gunpoweder, alcohol, and piss
>goes to find something to eat
>mumbling irritatedly to himself
>Cleaning a bit of oil and blood over it's "body"
I don't know son, the enginseers and tech priests around seem to be indisposed...
That's no techpriest
>puts his shotgun up into his shoulder pointing it at the....thing, he gets on his communicator.
Intruder in Engineering! Requesting support!
Fucked up. Wanted to answer to you.
>Aiming the multi-melta at Gladraw
>The mechadentrides are going crazy.
Hey hey let's all calm down here, this warp drive is getting fixed in no time, yes?
I'm just another magos... yeah that's right... have you never seen us under our robes?
Lass, there are a -lot- of things we could get in exchange for this.
Helping the Imperium with it is a given, but Warp....this is the discovery of the Millenium.
>Hearing Gladraw's Vox and taking no chances -this time-, the Stormtroopers sprint through the ship towards engineering, with an extra Squad of Armsmen in tow.
>Both groups are heavily armed, again to take no chances.
Fixing, those idiots back there were doing a mess with it, all praising and praising and not actually getting shit done.
Of course just let me get into my robes, yes?
>Lifts a techpriest's body, looting their robes.
It's just a matter of hours before I actually get this piece of scrap working again... two at most...
>Glances up from the dataslate before stowing it aside, hurriedly making his way toward Engineering with the Ogryn
More Heresy aboard, by His name what foul curse follows this Legion
Damn right we are, we seem to have been blessed by the Emperor this day.
Now....you think we should go find Verasii? She should probably be given whatever we're to give her.
>The bullet leaves a small dent at the Warpsmith's mechanized body.
Well that was not nice don't you think?
>There's a bulk under the robes hes using now, obviously the mechadentrides are moving under it.
>The ork fist hits plasteel instead of flesh. Its strength obviously de-estabilizes the warpsmith but otherwise does no damage.
Seriously you two, I'm just trying to get shit done for once...
>Falls down to the ground.
Alright that's it.
>Grabs both of them with the mechadentrides by the chest and lifts them.
Would you mind not attacking me whilst I make sure this ship can get into WARP TRAVEL and KILL SOME HERETICS somewhere out there in the vast emptyness of space in the name of Mala- in the name of the Emperor and the Omnissiah or do I have to take you both out too?
>Speakers around the ship jump to life
>Backing drum beat kicks in
"It's tuesday...I think, someone's left a mess in my studio and spilled my brownies on the floor your with me DJ Pete till light's out you psycho killers!"
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O52jAYa4Pm8 kicks in
>Harper salutes Victus as his troops and the Armsmen sprint past.
Don't know sir! But that's why we're here!
>keeps sprinting towards the bay.
>The Armsmen head in first, the Squad Leader aiming a Bolter while his troops close on the....creature with Shotguns.
What in the Emperor's name is going on?!
Suppose I could do it, make sure it's legitimate. Hand me that Dataslate back lass?
I WILL MOLEST MYSELF IF I KEEP DOING THIS. Was supposed to be from Harper.
>The tooth just hits one of the visors and falls to the ground without causing any damage.
It's... how we call the Emperor in my homeworld
>Is still concealing most of his body under a techpriest robe
Ah at last someone that at least asks! These two little barbarians came in and started to mess with my attempts to repair the warp drive here...
No I didn't!
>Ground to a halt as he approached the scene, swiftly pulling his bolt pistol from his side
What befell the Techpriests if not you, best hurry for innocence proves nothing.
>Pointing his bolt pistol he aims between all the people at the scene at the time of arrival, all of the 'suspects'
>Drops the ork infiltrator and the guardsman down to the ground.
>A mechadentride gives the toof back to the ork.
Well as far as I know we've already had two incursions in less than 48 hours, one caused by heretics and the other by... escaped xenos I do believe, you can guess what destiny befell to the others...
>Harper lowers his weapon and turns to Victus, while his squad and the Arsmen keep their weapons trained on the 'Techpriest' that stands before them.
Sir, we arrived here after one of those two called for reinforcements, found the Techpriests dead and them fighting with that one, whatever rank he is.
>keeps his gun pointed at the 'thing' after being dropped and scrambling to his feet
Considering how many different attacks we've had you being another isn't hard to believe
>Now seeming to have narrowed the suspects to the two Guardsmen and the 'Techpriest'
Guardsmen, what prompted you to assault this, quite possible, crewmember?
>His tone rather agitated by the situation
>Uncontrolled dreadnought laughter
"I'm just finding out that engineering is under attack! The Emperor has seen fit to purge those motherless bastards once and for all. Any personnel in the area in my opinion should just pull out and enjoy the sweet wonderland without those creepy metal freaks!
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=god7hAPv8f0 fades in
Aye it was
Oh please, don't be ridiculous. Here.
>Partially shows the mechanicus mark on his chest. Making sure that anything that should not be seen remains under the robes.
Part of the Mechanicus, see?
The last attack in engineering was the lizard creatures sir, that was quite a while ago, when bob and I arrived this, thing, was cleaning blood off of itself as well as oil, keeps referring to something starting with mala, and then it stole a dead techpriests robes.
This is a terrible misunderstanding, I was just starting to pile the bodies of my colleagues to be sent to the morgue.
>You notice the body of the techpriest he robed the robes is missing.
>There's cinders where it would have been.
Besides, look: there's no tech priest without robes in this room.
They're working on the lower levels, where there's radiation, dangerous to health for unprotected humen or unaugmented mechanicus members, they told me to bring the bodies up
>Yells to a set of stairs
>He quickly touches a datapad behind his back with a mechadentride, a recorded, robotic voice plays from downstairs:
YEAH WE NEEDED SPACE TO WORK DOWN HERE!
>Slowly let the bolt pistol fall to his side
Stormtrooper, have some of your men watch this Techpriest until we can confirm his legitimacy.
>He casts a stern stare at the two Guardsmen
You two, leave Engineering, no disciplinary actions will be taken. A suspicious mind is a healthy mind.
Hm....few vehicle schematics, nothing fancy yet, but....hold the Vox.....
>tapes a few more commands and flicks through some files.
My God Emperor....what have you blessed us with....
>Alice's face turns slightly pale as she disconnects the STC and places the Dataslate next to it.
>Harper activates his Vox and seems to converse inside his helmet, within ten minutes a different squad of Stormies and some extra Armsmen march into the room and post themselves around the area.
We....uh...we're in business. I'll tell you more later.
>Alice slides the Dataslate back into her map case, without repairing the network connection
>looks to the Techmarine.
With that aside, I expect to hear of this Drive working within the next two hours.
All save the Stormtroopers are to disperse.
>With that he turns to leave, not hanging around to hear any responses.
Of course, sir.
>Goes back to tinkering with the warp drive.
>Apparently he is being true to his word and trying to get the thing working propperly.
>He turns to Gladraw, Wada and Bob.
Oh, before you go, could you get these bodies to either the morgue or the incinerator?
>Pointing the dead tech priests.
It would be appreciated Mi'Lord, we'll need as much help as we can get to have the Drive operational before we head out for our new objective.
Thank you Sir.
>salutes the Techmarine.
>Turns to the Stormtroopers.
Your Tempestus Scions gear protects you all from radioactivity right? I'm about to start the re-assembled engine to see if it's leaking... you might want to be protected for that...
>Jackson leaves cargo hold 4 with a new shotgun for Rax and a large box of dragonfire rounds for a bolt pistol.
>whistles to himself as he sets off to find the new Commissar
It does, yes, no expense was spared in equipping us for this Deployment.
>Walker shrugs and motions for.....-Error 404: Designation not found-....to continue his work.
A greetings broth- ahem Astartes it's an honor to have you here.
It appears we have a small breach here... power is leaking... oh if those other tech priests were still alive they could probably block it with their own bodies...
I ain't gud with shooty, more of a choppy and burny.
>the Ork pats the large bruna on his back and grins
thou if a shoota can shoot burny then you got me attention
>Alice looks around and after making sure that the Astartes are out of earshot, speaks.
Several vehicle schematics, although the main interest would be the Infantry weapon schematics.
-Those- will be valuable, to ourselves, along with the Imperium.
>Alice pulls a piece of paper and a pencil from her map case and scribbles a note before passing it to LIX.
>"It's a hard copy, but it was created -recently-. We MAY be lucky enough to get an INTACT STC when we complete the assignment."
>"Should we find Verasii?"
It always is, haven't been in Mars since...
Well... quite a while. My chapte- uh my planet of origin ran into some trouble with the inquisition because of our customs, it's been hard to visit mechanicus temples ever since... or return home for that matter.
>pulls a lighter from one of her pouches and takes the note back.
>sets the note on fire and holds it 'til it's burned.
Well then, back to the Penance to find Greely I suppose. Need to tell him that we need to speak to the boss.
>jogs over and grabs the intel cube.
>jogs back over to LIX, along with the passage to their own ship.
I'll get it to you soon.
>taps a few things on a data slate as the sounds of machinery starts again
>enters the bridge and sees the Commissar on the far side
Ah, Victus. How are you today?
>leads LIX towards the firing range and gestures for LIX to grab a Melta gun from one of the lockers.
>pulls the previously used 'slate from it's case and sets it on one of the 'short' ranges.
Pretty good since nothing has tried to kill me today. Since Alice got you a sword before me. I got you a box of Dragon fire rounds for your bolt pistol.
>hands him the box
>Comes out coughing surrounded by a cloud of smoke.
General Grievous style.
The generator was busted in the battle that damaged this thing, we'll need a new one.
>Sits alone in his room
>Looks at the mechanicus electoo on his chest.
>"I know you're laughing, you know."
>"Why me? Why not someone who does not cleave to Him-on-Earth?"
>"Well, that's a good sign."
>The Throne Agent cleans himself up, oils and patches up his mechanical parts while reciting the Litany of the Ever-Functioning Form.
"..Men will sleep with hands of bone, and will awake with hands of steel..."
We're only destroying a Dataslate lass, besides, the armoured block behind the thing is rated, it'll be fine.
>Alice retrieves the dataslate and removes the memory systems, then replaces it on the range.
>accepts the Melta Gun and fires it at the Dataslate.
>The equipment in question is irrevocably destroyed, as one would expect.
>Alice fires twice more to make sure then sets the Melta back in the locker.
Shall we go and find Verasii then?
>slips the components into the map case.
>instructing some troops on patrol route
You guys go to the generator, double back into the canteen, do a double triple backloop into the warp drive generator, reroute to the 3rd mess hall cantina, take light stroll into armory, take a peek into the chapel.
And yeah we will be done with the patrol in no time.
Hey, some idle time is good. It gives you time to sharpen your skills and plan ahead. Although I'd like Alice to give me information on where we're headed so I could plan this out.
>Over the comms.
Er... commissar about that warp drive...
we've run into some complications... the Machine is ready to work but the generator that powers it up is... well to put it shortly, it's a mess, there's no way to fix this thing, we'll need a replacement.
Heresy grows from idleness. It has proven true so far.
Generator for the Warp Drive is irreparable, there's something for you to plan, how to get a replacement.
Ohh boy i remember my last idle time.
I was laying down on a corridor somewhere drunk out of my ass, i took a brisk shuffle towards the cantina and took a nap on one of the tables.
Then out of sudden a giant scaby, razor fanged xeno bursted out of the ships deep, dark, greasy loins like an unwanted, unannounced, sphincter bursting defecation session.
Mhm, it was pleasant to have a little extra civilized company for an occasion, he did help keep me alive after all.
But down to business, this was recovered on Somerius....
>Alice removes the Necron cube from one of her pockets and extends it towards Verasii.
....I believe that as the resident Xenos expert, you would be most adept at decoding whatever lies within.
>looks not the slightest bit bothered by Verasii's expression.
>Instead, schooling her own into a relieved one.
We're in our ship repairing the warp drive after an attack, you're free to do as you wish as long as you don't decide to open a hatch and have the air be sucked into the void of space and kill us all.
>Just watches in silence.
Junior Commissar, Lord Commissar figured it would be an apt test of my abilities if I were to provide some semblance of order within the Penal legion.
I've seen my fair share of combat as a Cadet, unlike what most assume.
If that's a Tesseract Labyrinth, she knows what it is.
"I will have Techpriest look at it. I have to save Nyzart and myself from his own stubbornness. I can prevent tribunal this time, but again he is doing things behind my back."
"These Mercenaries, though. They can operate in Imperial Space without concern. Is good he is learning discretion."
>stands around, looking important
>Also looks sad because of the crying facemask
>totally not heresy going on underneath it. Prolly.
A brief service pon Armageddon was more than enough. Necromunda is part of the same segmentum as you may already know.
>Glancing to his side and away from the window once more
The Steel Legion are quite admirable.
There was a tribunal? What for?
>Alice looks confused, but
AFAIK it's just a cube containing information, although it also needs someone experienced with Xenos to decode it.
">>the cube is necron in origin, and your experience with Nyzart tells you that it contains heavily encrypted data that only the cracking cogitators of a xenology specialist even have the hope of decrypting" Is how it was described in the last thread.
Nyzart, could you confirm exactly what it is?
>looks around from his post
>fucking boring if he could speak out his opinion
>fuck opinions anyway
>fuck this place
>fuck whatever place we're in
>fuck the place we're going to
>fuck the place we came from
>fuck it all
>Venerate the immortal Emperor.
>Finishes installing the new generator for the warp drive with the help of the kosmosknecht techmarine.
>It finally starts up fine.
At last it works! Warp damn it! It works at last!
>A cut human arm falls from his stolen robe after this, probably belongs to one of the dead techpriests
Oops. How did that get there?
>A mechadentride grabs it and tosses it into a maintenance access.
>After half an hour of further searching, both Bob and Wada arrive at their Destination.
That the Room? Hope no Orders come now.
>As Wada steps inside several Guardsmen get away from their equipment.
"No tribunal. Not yet, anyway. Many are concerned about Nyzart coming into imperial space with a warship. Not enough to make Tribunal, but is because I have many friends."
"Is unrelated question, but tell me. You seem like Astute woman. Do you think instigating conflict where there is none is a good plan for imperial growth in and of itself?"
Mute characters do seem to be a bitch to do in this thread.
Rolled 8 (1d20)
>the hand connects causing the Ork to shift his weight before he lashes out with hard right hook to the ogryns chin
you uglier than a crushed squigg!
Well I'm pulling it off so far
>get back to Venerating the emperor
>Not like there's anything decent to do anyway
>Stares at Greely
>Lacking any memory that Greely has proved to be higher up the food chain he stays quiet.
>But moving his finger from the triggerguard to the trigger. Just in case Greely is annoying enough to be framed as a heretic
>this all due to presuming Greely is just some mook
>Comms in through the Informal Penance's intercomm.
This is engineering.
Warp drive back online.
Well. With this dealt with, I think I'm going to scout the shi- I mean take a walk over the ship.
If the Imperium seeks to gain something from the conflict, then I cannot see why not.
Sometimes I wonder if it would be possible to have a.....'ceasefire' with some Xenos....but history has shown that this VERY rarely happens, the situation with Overlord Nyzart being the exception, rather than the rule.
Rolled 14 (1d20)
>Bobs hook causes Wada to stagger for a Moment, before he regains his footing. He shifts his weigth and launches himself at Bob, trying to bodyslam him.
Sorry, I´m not very good at writing action scenes. And what´s up with that amned captcha?
"I am not being of clear. The idea that conflict with other civilizations, ~in and of itself~, is necessary for Imperium to thrive. That is what I am asking your opinion of."
>looking over a checklist on a data slate
1x Command Chimera
25x magnamelta warheads
>looks at the pile of crates marked 'highly explosive '
I'll have to look over the men later. And find a way to get these Chimeras down in one piece
500x machanicus techpriests
1..2..3.. wait these are't supposed to be on here
>deletes the file on the techpriests
Yeah but are you having fun with it?
"So, oath of silence or something? I'm trying to figure you out, because the Inquisitor said something about how a penal regiment is a readily avaliable starting place to create what she calls a" Combined Arms Force."
>Walks by the hangar.
>The "Techpriest" seems to be taking some notes over a dataslate as he walks around, occassionally muttering a word or two about what he's typing in.
Ceramite alloy, well mantained and armed...
Of course, it's as we....err....taught....but..
>Alice closes her eyes and places a hand to her forehead.
>apparently suffering from another one of those 'headaches'.
I'm.....uh.....not sure actually....maybe?
Rolled 19 - 5 (1d20 - 5)
>Wada tries to follow up the slam with an fist to the orks shin, but thanks to the smashed ears, he gets the fist gets slower than normal.
Face an´fight not funny! Stop laughing!
Rolled 16 (1d20)
>the fist makes contact and the force causes the Ork to stumble
I can laugh I wantz ya grot
>the Ork brings a massive elbow down onto the Ogryns back
So far yes, since I can greentext my thoughts and insult everybody and they won't know it IC. Basically I get to talk shit about everyone who's not a psyker and get away with it.
Also mild anger is present. The Emperor's Divine fury cut into pieces and scattered, and one of those shards hit this guy.
He's more loyal than the Emperor himself
And this confuses everything trying to corrupt him.
>Shakes his head and points to where a comissar would have epaulets, and then to his chest drawing the signature ][ and shaking his head even more. While moving his finger to his mouth to indicate "silence"
"The answer is "no", Interrogator. Humanity does not need to borrow trouble - we have enough trouble with Chaos and Malignant agitators as it is. We are not greenskins, we have other tools at our disposal besides slaughter."
>She takes the cube and shakes your hand
"Was good to meet you. Greely speaks highly of you. You seem wet behind the ears to me, but you'll do fine in future. Don't let boys be getting you down."
>She smiles and leaves quietly.
>Unable to dodge the elbow, Wada gets smashed face first onto the matt. The Ogryn rolls onto his back and tries to make one of his knees into Bobs stomach.
What´... a grot...? You... talk like ork...
>The Ogryn slurres and is clearly not all there right now.
>Looks through the other files he's still holding
"Looks like that was the plans for the ships new plumbings, Don't worry they were never going to happen"
>Rests against a table and stamps another folder before binding it and sealing it.
"Do me a favour and burn this"
>Hands another folder titled 'Food and Supplys Requesitions' and dated this month to Jackson
Well we're retrofitting this here transport and we were wondering if we should put a supercharger or a turbocharger on the engine. What do you think we should do? Has anyone ever said that your huge for a techpriest.
Ah Rax good to see you. We're trying to improve this vehicle right now so we can use some help. Also You shotgun is here.
>hands him a shiny new shotgun
It's got semi and full auto so just flip this switch and you'll be good to go.
Why am I burning the request forms?
>Goes back to her office in the Embassy, and has the Techpriest check the device once she is safely in orbit
>"Just because you like the Xeno does not mean you trust them."
Ork Cain detected!
Mhm..fine, I believe, just....urgh, head hurts.
Aye ma'am...would be nice to...uh....not kill everything more often....
>salutes with her free arm as Verasii leaves.
I'll need to have a look at it from the inside and speak with the machine spirit before I can give you an answer, sir.
And to answer your second question:
My body was enhanced to lift multiple heavy objects, height was a requirement.
>"Ah, lies, lovely lies. Probably the only reason I wake up every morning."
>after several minutes, the inquisitor's decryption cogitators reveal that it contains military intelligence of a necron dynasty several solar systems away. It appears to be planning an attack on a nearby hiveworld, but the dynasty's logistics could be thrown into disarray by attacking a certain relatively lightly defended logic center on one of its worlds.
>Pauses for a moment and takes the folder back and reads the title again.
"Oh wait no burn this one"
>Gives him another folder called 'Personnel Reviews'
>Sorts the requisition folder back into his organiser.
Oooo. They came quickly. I knew becoming an Amazon Primarch member was a good idea
believable enough. I'm surprised you found robes in your size.
That I can burn. I hate that "review_my_officer.empr" site
Kommiboss Yarik, got pissed when his arm was removed, stole spare human one. Mate I love it.
Mhm....don't need to carry me fully lass....I'm fine....plus this gear is heavy....jus....sling my arm over your shoulders....should be easy enough to half-drag me..
Agreed, what a surprise
>"If you only knew."
>It's actually walking around hunchbacked inside the robes.
I shall proceed my analysis and begin to speak with the machine spirit then.
>Boards the transport.
Sound tasty. Need to ask kitchen.
>Wada smiles to himself before he realizes, that he had lost again against Bob. His ears seem to be a bit damaged.
Good opponent. Me gotta train better.
>Pulls Alice's arm over her shoulders.
>Before walking forward she places her forehead against hers.
>Staying silent for a couple of seconds staring directly into her eyes.
Bloody hell, yes you're waaay to warmer than my own forehead, come here you, it's time to go to rest if you want to assist to Omicron's Funeral!
Oh yes. What about those amulets in his room?
>he didn't notice his armored boots are sticking out of his robes...
>I'm going to see how this plays out
Well I hope you can find the spirit in all the parts
Rest sounds good....urgh....might be good to get a couple of painkillers....
>Alice is stumbling slightly as she's half dragged through the corridors.
You're a good person you know.
>There are more delicious treats to be found inside the Radio Station.
Yeah it can't almost be seen in the picture but a small detail:
It's not boots.
It's 4 talons facing different directions each (As in if seen from below they form a cross), the only thing remaining of the Space Marine is the brain, all else is cybernetic and way slimmer and taller than a normal human, although not as tall as an astartes.
>Is taking notes of his own on the transport, checking consoles, installation, batteries...
>"Innovative and imaginative, almost raging tech-heresy... I like it. No need to force the machine spirit into submission for now, mere appeassing will do."
Turbocharger will do fine in this able beast.
>"Could be trap by Piss-face Belk, or some other player. Which will mean soldiers will need better gear and vehicle."
>Hits her comm.
"Greely. Am issuing Hellguns and carapace chestplates to men of regiment as standard issue. There is Necron dynasty not terribly far from here planning attack on a hiveworld."
"You will need better ship than a troop transport. I am sure of that."
How many men in the regiment? I was assuming a few hundred. If this is out of bounds for a very wealthy and well-connected inquisitor to do, let me know.
Thanks, Techpriest. Is there anything I can do for you?
I'm going to say we have a few thousand men left and if you think it's out of your range of possibilities you might know someone who can get the supplies for free. wink wink just ask Jackson
>Wada accepts the Ork Toof and claps Bob in the shoulder. The Ogryns Heaaring slowly returned.
Hold you that offer.
>Wada grins. A Human that could beat an Ogryn so thoroughly was an able opponent and teacher.
Oh. Sorry, need to find medic.
>Wada grins again, trying to make a mental note to give Bob something for the Toof and leaves the training hall, pointing at his damaged ears.
Toof are thooth, right?
>She carefully lets a soft, slow "shush" come out of her lips.
Just relax, you need to rest.
You're a good person too, Alice.
It's all thanks to you, you're showing me a way to see the world I never dreamed of.
>Opens the quarters doors.
I think we have a set of pain killers in the bathroom.
>She gently walks and places Alice over their bed, gives her a quick kiss in the cheek, winks and walks into the bathroom to search for the painkillers.
>Lira is also sleeping on the bed besides Alice, the puppy looks like hasn't slept much this night. Then again you haven't heard her bark or try to wake you up by night-time for some reason.
looks at >>45029569
"Welp, looks like you're getting better standard issue gear."
>Hits his comm
"Alice, Jackson, Midas, and Victus. We've got business to discuss."
Bit more expensive but she can do it.
>the Ork watches the Ogryn walk away
don't fall over on the way ya daft git
>smelling the unfamilier scent of actualy food being cooked the Ork wanders in the diection of the Radio Studio
Hm. Perhaps you could, I've been wondering how many men are able on this ship to bring the Emperor's justice against heretic forces? I was never informed of how many men this vessel is carrying and it might not be up to shape for an excess of personnel...
Would you just buzz off or do I have to backhand you or something?
>the mask distorts the voice into something mechanic, like microsoft mike.
>taps the comm
Roger. Where are we meeting? Medbay? Meeting room? Alice's quarters?
No, clue there's at least 1000 guardsmen and a fuckton of armsmen
>is dozing at Omicron's grave
>waiting for them to get here
>looks up, lights a lho
>reflecting on life, mortality, service, and reward
>maybe he should get done with this business
>maybe he can get strings pulled so he can retire
>retire, go to Ophelia to find Theresia
>maybe become a Rogue Trader
>maybe go find her when he gets to be an Inquisitor
>probably a better idea
>do things his way, and still fight for the Emprah
>yeah... that's what he'll do...
It's the right thing to do lass.....felt...nice to actually help something for once in my....admittedly very short career.
>looks at Lira and considers petting her, but decides against it.
Urgh, bloody hell....
>taps the Vox's transmit button.
"On my way...on my way."
Lass, best take the painkillers with us, it's time for business.
>stands and moves towards the door of their quarters.
>a couple men are sitting at a desk chatting to each other
Hey there big guy. What seems to be the problem? Oh, you can handle this one Larrs>>45030249
>several of Jackson's men are already outside the room
"Who exactly are you in command of around here? I may as well call the catachan if you;re coming."
>Hits his comm
"Hey Gary. Big business to discuss. Gonna be killing time soon. Meeting room B."
Hm... most dissapointing to know, sir, I'll make sure the ship is stable enough to hold such a possible excess of personnel.
>If he still had lips he'd be grinning.
>Walks into a maintenance shaft and makes sure the access closes.
>He brings out a recorder as he advances through the dark, lonely maintenance corridors of the Penance.
Day twenty two.
Today is a wonderful day.
I finally got rid off the pesky enginseers and techpriests. Engineering is fully mine.
I've learned the vessel carries an appropiate ammount of men for my... projects and to hold a daemon attack of the great four, surely no-one will care if one or two go missing.
As expected the place seems a magnet of heretic forces, Malal will be pleased with the coming sacrifices. The machinery is ready and safely stored in engineering, all I need now is wait for a daemon attack of any of the great four to test it. Hehehehe.
>Wada points to his damaged ears.
>The ears look like someone had tried to put them inside the Ogryns head. His hearing is not terribly damaged but might get worser.
Wada simply nods at the statement and turns to Larrs.
>swallows the offered drug and grimaces.
Sorry love, I'd love to stay, but apparently duty calls again and I think it -might- have to do with -that-. You coming?
>Alice gestures towards the door and offers for LIX to lead.
>sighing and stashing the magazine in a drawer the young medic stands up and marches towards the Ogryn
>turning to the Chief Medical Officer the young man performs a stiff bow befroe turning back to the Ogryn
you certainly made a mess of yourself, were you fighting and Ork for Emperors sake?
>shifting the Ogryns head in his hand he grabs for lotion on the desk
rub this against the bruised area now and for every two hour interval, it will stop the swelling from becoming too much to handle
>patting the Ork on the back he beams before going back to his desk.
Go on then if bob trusts your cooking I'll have one too, If I become a demonhost stomp me quickly.
I was wondering if there's an chance if father vimes getting a five minute segment on your radio show a week, not many attend his sermons but everyone listens to your show, he's a good man and I know he'd appreciate it.
Mhm, you're definetly the better person out of us.
>allows herself to be helped to the Meeting room and sits herself next to whatever chair LIX sits in.
"Alright, We're just waiting on Alice. Gary will get here at his own pace, and I think the Junior Commisar's just mad I said he can't shoot people for spilling his coffee anymore."
"And here she is."
"Verasii recently received intelligence from Alice here that suggests a nearby group of Necrons are about to make a move against a Hiveworld."
>Wada nods while mumbling to himself.
No. Bob Human. Yep, Human.
>The Ogryn takes the Lotion and leaves the medbay with a nod towards the medic.
Thanks. See you.
>Unsure of what to do and having no orders, Wada starts partolling the ship.
Just a headache, I don't really need the help, but I assume LIX thinks it to be better safe than sorry.
>gestures for Jackson to sit back down.
>nods once and returns her left hand to her forehead.
>The bloody servoskull almost escapes, but the mechadentride is fast enough.
>It doesn't crush it, rather gently moves it before the Warpsmith's face.
Well well well...
>Various lenses zoom in and out analyzing the servoskull.
...It's always nice to see an old friend.
>Dropping the robe to have full movement, the other mechadentrides begin swirling around, preppared to operate on their next patient...
>Looks like he's just seen a ghost for a second, then composes himself.
>Calls up some holo-screens showing maps etc
"If we attack this lightly-defended area, we should be able to put their plans into disarray, which will give the hive world ample time to establish a defense and for the Guard to take appropriate action."
The name of this world is _____ and the world under threat is _____. Verasii's already looked into it, and says we should decide how to procede. She says we need a more capable ship to deal with attackers, though,.
fill in da planks plz
hey he's got good tastes
If your sure
>sits back down
>the servo skull shuts down and smoke rises from it.
>the red robed figure taps Jackson on the shoulder
A new ship? Where would we get that? And we're going to need more firepower to attack necrons.
>starts typing away on a data slate
Yes I've had my fair share of zero-g combat. My drops also have the same training.
>Laughing maliciously, the warpsmith returns into his disguise and drops the tinkered Servoskull to do its thing.
>Any possible recording it might have done has been tampered, audio replaced or removed and visuals lost.
>As the Servoskull returns to its original owner, the Warpsmith reveals a small opening on his cybernetic left arm, which drops a dataslate.
>The servoskull is now transmitting for him.
Come on little boy, go back home to your owner, who's suspicious about me?
"Good, because i've only done simulations."
"Verasii said we'd need more firepower, and told me she was looking into making Carapace chestplaes and hellguns standard issue for the regiment - except for a certain dickbag Maccabian."
If she would like the Magos here would be happy to supply the arms and armaments for the men. He is already employed through me, anyway.
>the Magos nods when he's mentioned.
>She discretely signals you with a certain paper you left her in a bottle of pills destined to her.
>Despite Alice's grudge against Jackson, it seems LIX is at least positive on hearing what you have to say.
Zero-G? My Stormtroopers were trained for it, as was I when I was inducted.
Hm...For the matter of the ship....perhaps your Inquisitor or my own would be able to provide one on loan?
>Alice takes on a contemplative expression.
Hellguns? I'd rather they have Bolters for Necrons, but ammo would be too much of a concern...
>Decides to go out on patrol. Being flipped off by some prick
>Walks around, his lasgun carelessly held against his shoulder.
>Thinking things like: "Oh how I wish I'd just have shot that motherfucker..."
"Say would either of you be able to help me with this door"
>Gestures to the door way too small for the dreadnought
"I could blast it but I fear the whole ship going with it"
"I'm sure you could get some tools from engineering"
"I could of done that!"
>Kick the door with no effect
>The dreadnought screams
"Go get the power tools!"
"Meanwhile I'll put in another batch"
>Shoves some battenberg cake into the oven.
>As the video feed cuts when the servoskull dies the warpsmith mutters a few curses and keeps his way.
Day twenty two. Entry two.
It appears I have a competitor. I love when there's competence to beat...
"In a meeting discussing our next assignment, We're going to be sabotaging a Necron Logic station some solar systems away from here, keeping them from attacking a hive world."
Forty Astartes is still a mighty force. The rest can insert as ordinary.
>walks in as quietly as he can
Here they are...
>gives Jackson a small bag that rattles like pieces of metal hit each other whenever it moves
And the books too...
>puts four thin but ornate books on the table, each having an inquisitorial =][= on them, further modified by image of a chalice in the place of the usual skull
"Verasii's footing the bill on the weapons and armor - have your men focus on getting this thing battle-worthy. If that's not an option, try and get us an escort or something."
you gotta do a paint scheme for these guys or something sometime
>Slides some of his patterned RECaf Du-luxe NITRO over to the anna
"Help yourself, I haven't slept in 5 weeks!"
>Stamps a denial on Sgt Calligo to be transferred to maintenance.
It has potential, however might be better to stick with Hellguns, it'd give the men more shots.
Hrmh, no, no amount of upgunning will make this thing a combat vessel....hmm....do you have blueprints of the station we're assaulting?
Rolled 15 + 5 (1d20 + 5)
You wont regret this boss
>taking the Burna from his back the Ork screams a mighty "WAAAGH" before relising a white hot jet from the Burna
+5 because he really really beleives it'll work
Also, keep in mind, if you see any of those necrons with knife-like fingers that like to wear people's skin, the others seem to be afraid of them for some reason. An Astartes might be able to pick one up and toss them at a leader or something.
>Almost gets his stolen robes burned away by the torrent.
What the hell are you thinking firing that thing inside the ship's corridors?! Do you think these self-repair?! Is- is that a dreadnaught in the room?
"I can... can't but notice you have not been asking my critical advice on the matter."
>her head drops down and she falls asleep for a few seconds
"Can you afford not to peek into the future and just go with your silly plan? Whatever it is?"
hodge podge of different colors and marks of power armor looted or gifted from various sources, and a large amount of eviscerators.
>Pete shocked that it even worked goes into temporary rest mode before switching back on and hi 5ing Bob with a Plasma Cannon
"BOB YOU GENIUS!"
>The Dreadnought stomps his way out into the corridor
"ENGINEERING IN MY CORRIDOR!"
>Pete starts smoking and looks like his weapons are charging.
>cackles at the fun
>turns off the Burna grinning at the dreadnaught and back to the large dreadnaught sized hole burned through the wall.
Ah so you're that radio operator that constantly yells that.
I'm uh... the new Engineering head, we kind of... had a clean-up made by a set of incidents, the old members of engineering are no more.
Good. Now how do you we propose we get from Point A to Point B, and back again?
"I was expecting you to show some initiative, but this will do. What do you forsee as being viable means of entry/exit?"
>Pulls up the schematics on the projector
>Weapons cool off
"Oh you can actually talk? I would shake your hand but you know the whole guns for arms thing"
>Gestures for Bob to come out
"Hey I'm Pete and this is Bob my saviour!"
I see, I'm uh... Techprie- Magos Depherion.
Yeah magos goes better with my name.
I guess it's an honor, I've been hearing your voice over the intercomm since I've embarked. I never expected it to be coming from... well uh... a dreadnaught.
You're bigger than I had expected for sure.
Well if we could disable the defensive weapons then we could just shuttle in and out. A long range teleportation of a strike team could work then once they destroy the power generator then we can land the rest of the men.
I believe it might be better if the Strike Team simply teleports onboard and destroys several key systems while the Penance and her Escorts keep them busy and -maybe- draw attention away from said Team.
If we can't get it over with quickly then our....'Fleet' may sustain losses.
Such a thing is inevitable, but lets try to keep that to a minimum, aye?
Well the Explorator vessels are equipped with them and >>45031451 has one as well. During the time it takes to get there we can train the strike team to fight out of a teleport.
But that would entitle us having to teleport out of the station as well. If the gus are offline we might as well bring men with explosives aboard and destroy the entire station.
"You're the one with the Military background, so I was hoping you'd come in with something. But I'd say we keep the penance out of range since that's where our troops will be. That gets holed, and the bulk of our forces go up in an explosion."
"For you, now Magos you must excuse me I must let command know I am back on active combat duty"
>Looks back at bob
"Come on Boooob, there's no time to waste we're going on a adventure!" (Vocal gltich)
>gestures for the human to jump on his shoulder
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bTpp8PQSog starts playing from the dreadnought chest
>Mobile station antenna raises from his back
"Listen up kiddo's my pal Bob and me are going on a journey and will keep you up to date as we take the great voyage of discovery and imagination to the exotic deck 3F!"
>Start plodding down the corridor, pausing to be amazed by the simplest things, such as a guardsman with a magazine
"What are these hieroglyphics?"
>Despite the strength of the ork and the thin mechadentride seems to resist the shake with no problems, it's shaped almost as a 4 fingered talon, which makes actually putting too much force into the grip risky for normal humans. Of course this is nothing Bob has to worry about.
Even if we can bring the station's weapon batteries offline, doesn't mean that -all- of the systems on board, or the Necrons will be too.
Your point -is- valid however, but to land addition troops we'll want to draw as much attention away from their arrival as we can.
This would be where those Escorts come in.
And I agree, as regards to the Penance....then again, perhaps it might be best to leave her here and make one of the Explorator Vessels our temporary base for this Op?
This Ol' girl is poorly armed and rather large...
"Hmm. Captain, what do you think? I assume we'll need people to crew the ships. Does 4 ships in a fleet equal 4 navigators? Or can one navigator guide a fleet?"
>looks at Anna with a disapproving glance
When is this operation scheduled to start?
The Penance can be retrofitted at the forge world during this operation. Then it can be up to par for an Inquisition ship.
The internal Monologue is ON-Air.
>The mission continuals
>The song changes to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRh-dzrI4Z4
>Pete and bob cross the great dangers of the canteen, traverse the dizzing heights of the hanger bay and brave the darkness of bunk quarters 28C where maintance still hasn't changed the blown light. But there most challenging task was ahead of them the volatile inhabitants of the 28D also known as the female quarters.
>Pete looks up at Bob
"Are you ready for this friend?"
>As he reaches for the door control a large shadow rounds the corner behind them.>>45031623
>Was this a friend or had the harpies that lay ahead of them flanked them?
I wouldn't take the risk of going with one Navigator, if the ship carrying the Navigator were to be destroyed, we would be stranded.
I believe that Throne Agent Greely would be able to answer that question, as for the Retrofit's, we can head back to Bakka and have it arranged while you are deployed.
>looking over the schematics intently.
>occasionally shakes his head.
>Wada groans and walks towards a door. Maybe the People there had a Map. He then notices Bob sitting on something really big.
>Wada grins and and looks at Pete.
oh shit, WE HAVE ORKS IN THE MEDBAY?
Hmph, gladly. Oh you know just walking arround, learning of the ship's situation, getting familliar with the mighty metal beast I'll have to take care of...
Not a problem Rax.
And I'm afraid not, they're still Necrons....just ones that...uh....feel like wearing the skin of their fallen enemies.
>shakes her head in confusion and returns to her toughts.
"As soon as possible. She's already astropath'd the hive world, and they're trying to scramble a defense. "
"Anna -fuck. Jackson, do something about your woman."
"Like i said, the leader ones get freaked out by those. If there's a way to use that, do it. Disguise won't work, though."
I was thinking more along the lines of http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Adeptus_Mechanicus_Light_Cruiser
Well the Magos's forge world can fix up the ship while we're on mission. Also the ships come with navigators already. They are being pulled from other duties to escort us.
>the magos is typing on a data pad
>*eye twitch *
"My name is Pete you may of heard of me!"
>a hatch opens on the dreadnought
"Would you like some battenberg?"
>The beasts on the other side of the door have gone quiet.

I probably won't have another chance to say this so:
I'm glad you're back to the land of the living. I was told of what you did, bold, but brave. I respect that.
"Hey, you needed ship, I have one, and all you people do is complain about not having ships! It is me or is it you?"
"No, he doesn't feel like carrying my dead weight around so no dice here, Greely."
>Hits to shut the door on his quarters
>Now wearing the plasteel plate chest sometimes seen by the Commissariat
>Begins wandering the ship with his usual marching rhythm
>The Battenberg is gone in less than a second.
>Wada grins up at Pete, before turning to the door.
You have map?. Should ask I them?
>The Ogryn opens the door, unaware of the dangers behind.
>Takes a glance at the room.
hum... I see you two don't get along that much...
>"Shit I told her to try into this relationship thingy"
>"This is my fault..."
Hey, if you ever want to talk about something... or just train or whathever, count with me.
The timing is that close? In that case we'd never be able to finish the retrofits in time to join the offensive.
What little we can contribute to the operations will have to be limited to experienced Voidsmen I'm afraid. My apologies.
>Laughs at the comical refference about the dead techpriests.
>It sounds like the laughter coming from the maws of perversion, death and hate.
>Taps Gladraw's back with the mechadentride.
"I asked you if there was any heresy involved and you evaded my question, Greely! I am starting to have enough of all the Radical way of messing up things, it costed us a planet already because each and everyone of you was too busy with your own egos to mount a counterattack!"
... d'not t'ink about it, mh?
An'sure, I mean I don't see why would you want to but if y'want...
No, no, we would take the explorator vessels into combat and by the time we returned to the Penance the retrofits should be complete.
>gritting his teeth
Sit down, Anna.
>Pats her shoulder and nods. It will be nice to train with someone who can potentially predict my moves from time to time, and training always helps getting your head stop focusing on the problems. Besides, I think you'll need to give those bionics a propper field testing...

"So now you talk to me again? Marvelous!"
>A mechadentride draws you closer to the "Tech Priest."
I suspect you've got a problem with me.
Look I don't want trouble, but in case you're looking for some, I have my eyes on you.
And the place where I come from we eat Raw human meat... just saying...
>Taps his cheeck twice with a CLEARLY robotical hand ended with claws and leaves humming the last melody Pete played.
Perhaps....I shall consult with my staff after this meeting is adjourned. Preparations will have to be made either way.
Along with shifting equipment between vessels.

Wada, on Patrol. Anyon´got Map?
roll for trying to somehow defuse the situation
No, if it was about Rogan... It is not about Rogan, dumbass! Yes, I failed w'en it came to... to basics, I know, I am a psyker, w'at do you t'ink? No one, not even Verasii, t'inks I am more t'an a scanning tool. But I risked my life to provide you commanding officers wit' t'e sorceress' hideout location and t'en to give you t'e opportunity to find it, and w'at did you t'ink about? BELK! Yes, I fucked up and killed one, you three fucked up and let billions die.

>She clearly has no fucking Idea what to do in this kind of "social interactions"
Yeah, keep pitting evert'ing on t'ose bastards.
Fuck all. I am done wit' t'ise. Wit' you, and Verasii, tell Verasii she can keep EVERYT'ING, I do not want it anymore.
Because every time I spit up my lungs, it is to allow you to save t'e fucking day. Vympel was just t'e justification, you never wanted to look for the sorceress in first place.
>Alice looks at LIX and smakes her head.
>gives a look of concern as she pulls out a pack of Lho Sticks and a lighter.
>tosses them on the table and eyes them.
Because advancing on her position would have left us all dead. We had no support, none, zilch, zero. And I didn't dare ask you where she was because I didn't want you to kill yourself... I didn't want you to die...
Don't be stupid, of course I can't do t'at, I am alive just because I work for Verasii n' she knows it. She 'olds me for so many balls I don't 'ave, I would look like a flipper if I 'a so many!
"Now back to business before we were interrupted."
"I think we have a solid basic plan, but our specifics need work."
>Has clearly had enough of Anna's shit right now.
I've seen enough sir, between my time in the prisons in Savlar and serving with the 42nd Chem Dogs. We mostly fought close quarters though, and Stimmed out of our minds being made breathe frenzon and whatever they could cut with it all the time.
You are always asking 'elp to t'e astartes t'ere, 'elp to t'e Inquisiton 'ere. I guess t'ose people w'ere not wort' it, eh.
I 'ave to cash in a favor now from some people who actually 'ave a ship. And a ship t'at can 'elp us. Or you, maybe.

Aye, it'll be risky, but it always is, eh?
Lets just hope we can kill the station before their offensive starts...
The teleport team should consist of the marines Alice's stormtroopers and some of my men. I vote that some of us go to lead the teams.
>goes to rub his face and eyes.
What the hell am I supposed to do?
That would be ideal.
Ok. The regiment is going to have to be broken up into groups to pursue various objectives once the weapons are shut off. I can lead one, the Commisar can lead another, who else in the regiment is fit for command?
no we will finish this meeting.
>at that very moment several of Jackson's troops kick in the door and dive across the table into usable cover
>Jackson just has a face of defeat
Maintenance shafts and corridors, small corridors devoid of light, accessed generally only by engineering, janitors or ciminals that contain cables and other infraestructures to keep the energy flowing through the ship.

If you refer to the Regiment as under your command?
I'll be leading my Stormtroopers, so that's me out, Jackson'll be leading his own troops, he's out..LIX could be a candidate, unless she wishes to remain in my retinue for the assault....
>Alice looks to LIX for her opinion at this point.
.....Perhaps Preacher Vimes?
What in the Emperor's name? Alice stands from her chair and moves to shield LIX.
"Preachers don't give orders in combat, Alice. The Decree Passive is quite clear about that. While they can lead by example, that's not fit for objective-based work."

WHAT THE FUCK!?!
Alice I can loan you a squad or two of my men since you do not have as many, Delta can also borrow some units if she'd like. They will be up to your standards.
Well that's new. What's the radio host doing out here.

A loyalist dreadnought from the ~children~? How old is this ship?
True, but I really don't think we can be picky about it when our choices so limited. I suppose we could at least -ask- him.... >>45032952 That works too, very well, LIX can stay with me then.

Could you spare some Marksmen and a regular Rifle Squad? Depending on what my target is I might need the heavies.
Went into engineering's maintenance.
Also don't confuse Warpsmith, something any chaos legion or warband can have and Warsmith, chaos lords from the Iron Warriors legion, because there's a Warsmith on the loose on this ship too.

Well fuck, that's a lot more extensive than mine, admittedly I only named 5 of my Stormies because Gary brought the other 12 Malleus dudes.
I'll also admit that in keeping with the British Theme I pretty much robbed their names/Roles from Sharpe.
