>>45006865 It's ok though because the Emperor made them.
>>45006878 Navigators are necessary for interstellar travel. Daemonhunters are presumably necessary to combat the worst Chaos incursions (and mutilate SoB). Warp travel is necessary because man doesn't have DAoT or Necron level technology or a webway.
>>45006908 By your own words, you can't let people who've made contact with Chaos go free. Zero exceptions. Now, if you say "okay, we can let some people with Chaos go free" you've opened up the door for discussing whether or not, for example, blowing up an entire Knight World and flushing trillions upon trillions of throne's worth of the Emperor's property (not to mention the difficulty of making more Knights) because of a small-scale Warp incursion ended in short order by the Space Wolves tossing a Daemon Prince's soul back into the warp for a few more centuries is really justified. If we were talking about some backwater Feudal World, maybe you'd have a point, but good Knights don't grow in vats, despite what some in the Mechanicus may think.
>>45007043 You don't kill every human on the planet, just the ones who saw chaos. It takes extreme strength of mind and soul to not fall to chaos once you are aware of it. The big =I= constantly scans it's peeps for said corruption.
>>45007043 I'm not saying that the Grey Knights do everything right and that I agree with everything they've ever done, I'm just saying that it's necessary to have a group of warriors who know Chaos, can never fall to it and know how to fight it.
>>45006697 So also the entire populations of Cadia and Telleran.
And the hundreds of Regiments that fight in every Black Crusade.
I read once, and this might be old fluff, that the Grey Knights exterminated the regiments and death camped the population to try and find the Changeling deamon,.
Which is understandable. You don't want the Changeling running around because who knows what it might do. It might needlessly kill billions of people and severely weaken the Imperium across an entire sector of space or some crazy shit.
Thank the Emperor the Grey Knights were there to prevent that.
>>45007820 They were killed by an ancient psyker who thought that the best option for taking down the most subtle and dangerous force in the galaxy was to just tell nobody, ignore it and hope it would go away.
>>45006407 We've had this thread a billion times. All I'll say on the matter is it's typical Black Library shit, where "cursing the administratum" wasn't DRAMATIC enough for BL so they had to go and turn it into a full scale war with the Inquisition for MAXIMUM DRAMA.
>>45007230 >So also the entire populations of Cadia and Telleran. Wasn't Cadia purged repeatedly until they were declared a special exception/necessary evil? By the regular laws of the imperium they were repeatedly wiped out as a precaution.
>>45009706 IIRC Both sides were giant fuckheads in black library's retcon. The Space Wolves originally agreed that the guardsmen should be purges afterwards but that the civvies in the hives should be spared.
A new Lord Inquisitor comes in and decides everyone should be purged so the yiffs retaliate by saving the people everyone initially agreed should be purged at the outset.
>>45009826 >Wasn't Cadia purged repeatedly until they were declared a special exception/necessary evil? Never heard anything like that, but Cadia is a shithole
>‘Do you? This is Cadia, you silly fool! Cadia! Right on the doorway of Chaos! Right in the heart of everything! The seepage of evil is so great, I have a hundred active cults to subdue every month! A hundred! The place breeds recidivists like a pond breeds scum. I sleep three or four hours a night if I’m lucky. My vox chimes and I’m up, called out to another nest of poison that the arbites have uncovered. Firefights in the street, Eisenhorn! Running battles with the foot soldiers of the archenemy! I can barely keep up with the day-to-day banishments, forget the past cases my crap-witted predecessor filed. This is Cadia! This is the Gate of the Eye! This is where the bloody work of the Inquisition is done! Don’t distract me with stories of some engineering club gone bad.’ -Eisenhorn (book 2 I believe) Remember when Black Library novels expanded on the universe rather than retconning it? Pepperridge Farms remembers
>>45010317 I always thought the Inquisitor that Eisenhorn was talking to was referring to the planets AROUND Cadia, not Cadia itself. Cadia seems pretty well established as a completely militarized deathtrap of cities designed as fortresses, streets designed as killzones, and a recruitment rate equal with the birth rate.
>>45010504 There's a lot of fluff going a lot of different way about how chaos corruption works, Geedubs inconsistency and all that. I think it depends on how you're exposed.
In the case of the Volscani (a regiment the Inquisition deployed for their skill in fighting daemons), they turned because fighting a daemonic incursion is pants shittingly terrifying. And all it took to turn the Volscani was for the Dark Gods to say "If you work for us, you won't have to fight daemons anymore."
>>45010504 Not anyone, but it depends on your will. Fighting chaos is an awful experience that can easily drive men insane, just read the Chaos Daemons Codex.
According to the Volscani fluff, they turned traitor because after they fought daemons they dwelled on what they had seen. Then the chaos gods said, "you know gais, if you do what we tell you to, you'll never have to worry about fighting daemons ever again."
And the Volscani said, "Oh shit really? Where do I sign up, I will literally sell my soul if it means I don't have to fight daemons ever again."
And so the Imperium prefers to play it safe and just mind wipe/purge anyone whose seen daemons so shit like that doesn't happen. The Volscani would proceed to ambush the Cadian High Command just before Abaddoo's 13th Black Crusade
>>45006407 >> Openly killed Grey Knights >>think THEY know better then the chapter that is superior and more knowledgeable then them in every way on the topic >>Allowing tainted Guardsman free because "they felt bad" and "warrior bond"
This is why the wolves are the WORST chapter, they let their sentimental threaten countless worlds. They fucked up BIG time because they have to be the "independent" chapter, which the writers took to mean "retarded".
Back when Logan disagreed and hated the Inquistion for what they did it was ok, but once they started team killing its just plain idiocy, ESPECIALLY GREY KNIGHTS.
Its like the writers completely forgot the first War of Armageddon where they only lived because of these blokes, with Logan calling them irreplaceable hero's only to whine like a bitch two seconds later.
Hell, the ONLY reason the chapter is alive is because the writers have to keep waving the Fang as this "impenetrable fortress" that keeps those bad Inquisitors away, when now we have a story of the Thousand Sons breaching it in a fine enough manner.
Holy Fuck the Wolves have been a lore disaster for years, I remember when they were viking-ish SPACE MARINES... not space marine-ish vikings.
I remember when an entire great company died because the wolf lord tried to have sex with a Deamon of Slannesh... Seriously fuck these guys.
Everything after the 13th Black Crusade world event was a spiral to the wolves becoming just a pointless meme... its sad really.
>>45010317 It's not Cadian regiments, but Cadian style gear that's so pervasive.
Cadia probably needs the most equipment out of any planet in the galaxy. Hence the dictate the standard. Cadian style armor and weapons are so pervasive because the manufacturers are so used to making them, that it's just easier to make it the standard for all regiments that aren't specialized.
>>45010530 The thing that rustles my jimmies the most about that meme is that everyone disregard what brought the duel in the first place.
>furfag Russ is immature that gets mad over Lion KSing him
DA and SW fought in several engagements before that battle and on several occasions De Lion abandoned Russ' side and opened his flanks, witch resulted in tremendous casualties for he SW. Stealing his kill was only the lastest irritant.
>Russ glass jaw can't handle a little punch in the face.
They had been literally fighting for a day and a night (or is it days and nights?) when Russ not that faglord De Lion stopped the fight when he saw how stupid and meaningless it was. Then Lion KOed him in the most dishonourable way.
>>45011704 >so no different than the 40k DA? My point exactly, the meme is getting old, and the fact that this thread keeps popping up every day makes it worse. Hopefully /tg/ gets tired of it once the wulfen get release.
>>45011397 He wasnt trying to apologies, he was laughing after treasonous attacking another primarch and forcing a three day fight. I know wolf fans like making shit up but please...
The delays in armies alone because of his selfish need to try to macho his fellow primarch are worth noting as well, and then he has the gall to laugh. Imagine the fact that two legion fleets were delayed for three whole days because of Russ's idiocy. All the while the Lion, the actually competent strategist, is keeping track of how behind schedule he now is.
Bitch got slapped and he deserved every moment of it.
