You are Kline Bueller, a C-rank adventurer, and you are currently training under Claudine, which was basically combat hell. You were constantly dodging and parrying, and pushing your body to the limit. Maybe it was payback for Herschel earlier?
You turn on instinct, nearly avoiding a strike from your master.
"Nice. You almost didn't get your arm lopped off." She comments.
"Can you please take it easy on me?" You pant.
"Nope." She kicks your leg, knocking you on your ass as she then pins you down, sitting on your abdomen and pointing her blade at your throat. "And you're at my mercy."
>"...I didn't know you liked to be on top."
>"I can't feel my legs."
"My legs are numb as hell." You groan. "And you are not helping them."
"Tell that to someone who cares," Claudine spits on the ground near you. Seriously, she should stop doing that, it's gross.
"Also, I think my bladder is screaming." You quip in a snarky tone.
"Dead men always relive themselves." Claudine shoots back as she lets out a yawn. You release your practice weapon as she finally gets off of you and stands up.
"Well, you're doing good, but not good enough. Go home and rest. I'll be seeing you tomorrow. Your master helps you up, and you leave the training grounds and head back into town.
What do you do?
>Pester some guildmates.
You decide to go to the general store to visit Celine. Considering what you went through, you really need some comfort. Your feet lazily trudge onto the panels of the store floor, heading towards one of the chairs near the window.
"Hello, welcome to- Kline!" Celine gasps as she sees your dirt ridden form. "Goodness, what happened to you?!"
"Training from hell." You grunt as you fall into the chair. "I feel like I'm dying."
"Here, let me get you some tea." She rushes into the back and you hear some moving noises. A minute later, she arrives, holding a cup of tea and hands it to you. "Here you go, drink up."
You eagerly comply, the smooth taste of lemon tea going down your throat. It's like you died and gone to heaven. Absolutely divine.
"I'm worried about you, Kline." Celine sighs. "Always doing dangerous things. I'm just worried you'll wind up in an early grave."
>"Hey, I'm always careful."
>"You're starting to remind me of my sister."
>"As long as there's people like you, I'll be fine."
"My sister said that once," You muse. "When I was going bug-catching in the open fields and I got attacked by a slime." Honestly, it wasn't even bothering nor attacking you, but your sister didn't know the meaning of the word overkill.
"Well, she might be onto something." Celine sighs as she sits next to you. "You may be trying to get strong, but you still need to be taken care of. You still can get hurt." she chides.
"I know." You sigh. You quickly decide to change the subject. "So, how's business?"
"It's doing fine, there's still a lot of people that need potions and things and all the like..." Celine rambles on.
What do you do?
>Ask if she needs help.
>Ask her if you want to clean around the place.
>Ask her out on a date.
"Do you need some help around here?" You interrupt, feeling the pain going away from your body.
"Well, I do need to unpack that big box in the storage room, but-" You cut her off as you get up and stretch.
"Say no more. I got this." You head off towards the back of the store and go in the storage room. Just like old times during your days as a D-rank.
Grabbing an iron bar, you get to work on a large box, attempting to pry open the lid. With a grunt, it comes off, a strong smell suddenly hits your nose. "Urgh!" You quickly cover your nose and move away from the box.
"Kline, what is- UGH!" She groans as she waves the air around and holds her nose. "What iz dat smell?"
You peer into the box and see a shining silver orb in midst of dried stinkgrass.
What do you do?
>Call Celine over.
"Celine, did you order a shiny ball?" You ask.
"No, I- What?" She walks over towards you and looks into the box, confusion and awe on her face. "What in the world...?"
"I think it might be a magic artifact." You murmur.
"Well, don't just stand there, get that thing out of there." Celine nudges you. You slowly grasp the sphere and pick it up. It looks other-worldly and mysterious.
"What could it be?" You stare at the orb. Suddenly, it starts to glow and launches itself upwards, shooting through the ceiling.
"Good gods!" Celine cries out. You quickly rush out of the store with the shopkeeper hot on your heels, to see the orb vanish in a brilliant light.
"Oh, shoot! That thing broke my roof!" Celine groans, putting her hands onto her head. "I'll just have to get Aaron to help me fix it..."
"Sorry about that," You reply.
"It's not your fault, Kline. It just goes to show that not all good things come in a shiny package." Celine sighs.
"Good luck with your repairs," You say as you head back to the guild.
As you step inside the hall, you see Maria arguing with Herschel, Dorga eating food, and Evelyn talking to Clara, a C-Rank Mage.
Just another day in the guild.
>Go see what Maria and Herschel are fighting about.
>Join in Evelyn's conversation.
>Join in Evelyn's conversation.
Seems like no one's on right now, and unfortunately I've got to leave. Perhaps you might want to run this at another time, OP? Possibly also get a Twitter to announce threads in advance.
"Hey, Eve!" You wave at the girls. "Hey, Clara!"
"Hello, Kline!" Clara waves back.
"Well, what brings you here to our humble presence?" Evelyn grins. "To gloat about the fact you've become a Fighter now?"
"No, I just wanted to talk to you about something. Do you know anything about silver orbs?" You ask her. Evelyn and Clara exchange glances, then look at you.
"Wait, let me guess. A silver sphere that goes haywire when it comes in contact with heat and explodes in magical energy, am I right?"
"...Yeah. How did you know?" You ask the silver-haired mage.
"They're remnants of an era that should've stayed lost to the mists of time." Evelyn explains. "The Great War."
>"Oh, yeah, the one where two kings fought over a horse, right?"
>"Wait, you don't mean..."
>"...Why don't you tell me about it, Eve."
"You mean the war where two kings fought over who would get ride a winged horse, right?" You say, only to get an annoyed look from Evelyn and a confused look from Clara. "...Why don't you tell me what this 'Great War' is about, then."
"Y-You've never heard of the Great War?" The pink-haired mage looks at you incredulously.
"No, Clara. The only wars he's read about are in fairy tales." Evelyn sniffs and turns to you. "The Great War was a turbulent era rife with bloodshed and turmoil. Many kingdoms were destroyed due to others finding Ancient Relics and using their powers to gain more territory."
You sit down in a chair and listen on.
"It had gotten so bad that the gods decided to intervene and take away the Relics, and punish the ones using them. Eventually, the world went back to its peaceful state." Evelyn finished.
"I still don't see what does that have to do with the exploding orb." You sigh.
"Apparently, it was ammo for a cannon-type Relic. Judging from what you told me, it seemed to be a dud." Evelyn sighed.
"...A dud that broke through a roof?" you cross your arms.
"You're lucky it was a dud, because if it wasn't, you'd be a charred corpse." Evelyn frowns at you.
"Fine, fine. I get it." You sigh as you look at Clara. "So, Clara. You look stunning today."
The pink-haired girl blushes fiercely at your words. "T-Thank you... I think you look nice too."
"Are you two going to flirt at each other or are we going to talk about something else?" Evelyn interjects.
>"Fine, let's talk about what you've been doing."
>"Let's make fun of Maria behind her back."
>"Ok. What color is your underwear?"
"Let's talk about what you guys were talking about before I got here." You make a note to talk to Clara in private next time.
"We were talking about how Zephyr and Krieg were making out in the storage room." Clara blushes.
"Clara!" Evelyn hisses, a blush coming onto her face.
"Oh, do tell, please." You smugly grin. Zephyr was a B-rank Archer, who acted like a spoiled brat and looked down on everyone, while Krieg was a A-Rank Knight who was basically similar to Herschel, except he was honest about his womanizing ways and he was a complete ass.
"I-I saw them sitting on the boss's desk and kissing each other." Clara says, a small blush appearing on her face. "Then I hid myself when the mistress came back and saw them doing it in her office. She made a great fuss and sent both of them downstairs in their underwear."
"I wish I was there to see that," You snort in laughter.
"No, you wouldn't." Evelyn glares at you jealously.
>"...Eve, are you jealous?"
>"What? It's not everyday to laugh at two snobs in their skivvies."
>"You know I would never cheat on you, Eve."
"Don't tell me... You're jealous, Eve?" You look at her in mock-shock. "I never knew you were jealous of Zeph!"
"N-No! I just don't want you to- I just- Argh!" Evelyn places her hands into her face, groaning. Clara just pats her back.
Just then, you catch the tail end of the argument in the background.
"You are such a filthy, dirty commoner!"
"Says the bitch with a stick up her fat ass."
"How dare you, you vulgar beast!"
"Brain-dead dairy cow!"
Maria then tosses her drink onto Herschel, who responds in kind, splashing his beer onto her face.
The guild members hoot wildly as Maria tackles the B-rank Rogue and pounds his chest with her fists.
"Oh, great, it's finally happened." You sigh. Maria's shrieks of rage and Herschel's cries of pain are drowned out by the usual cheers of your seniors.
You slowly make your way towards the scene, Dorga is already there, gnawing on a turkey leg.
"Hey, 'Line. Came for the fight? My money's on 'Aria there! Herschel ain't got a chance in the world." The fat man laughs heartily.
>"I bet Herschel will come out on top."
>"I came here to laugh at Herschel."
>"Maybe another time, Dorga."
"Yeah, I just came to see Hersch getting his ass kicked by a girl and laugh at him for it." You snicker, watching Herschel try to grab at Maria's face, and getting his hand bitten in return, causing him to howl in pain.
"Haha!" Dorga laughs loudly. "That's gonna leave a mark!"
"Sucks to be you, Herschel!" You shout at him.
"Buell-GAH!" Herschel is interrupted by Maria grabbing his ears and tugging at them. "OWW!" He lets out another squeal of pain.
The guild members bellow in laughter as Maria then swings her foot into Herschel's groin, making him screech like a little girl and forcing him to go into a fetal position, whimpering.
"That was incredible!" A male guild member shouts.
"He never stood a chance!" A female laughs.
"I knowed it! Herschel was gonna lose! Pay up!" Dorga shouts triumphantly.
You burst into a fit of giggles as you look at Herschel. Ah, sometimes life can be good to you.
Maria pushes past the crowd and looks at you. "What are you laughing about, commoner?"
"N-Nothing, really. I-It sounds like your lover's spat with Herschel is over..." You chuckle.
"Are you trying to pick a fight with me?!" Maria glares dangerously at you, fists clenched.
>"Hell no, I'm not stupid."
>"You really should learn how to relax."
>"Well, maybe if you exercised more.."
"No, of course not! I'm not H-Herschel!" You take a moment to calm yourself and breathe before continuing. "You really should learn to control your temper, though."
"Hmph!" Maria snorts as her fists curl out, looking at you with less hostility than before. "All I need is peace and quiet away from you fools."
"Suit yourself." You shrug. "Just watch out next time when attacking someone that can actually fight back."
"Go play with that mage girlfriend of yours!" Maria snaps at you as she storms off to the barracks.
Sheesh. You think she was born with a stick up her ass. Dammit, Herschel's getting to you too.
"I'd put a stick up her ass, if you know what I mean." You turn around and see Krieg, who is looking at Maria's ass with his usual smirk. "Mine, of course. Too bad she's like a wildcat."
"What about Herschel?" You ask.
"What about that pansy? He's not man enough to tame a fiery fox like her, and look what happened. He's a disgrace to all men." Krieg laughs.
>"Just like you?"
>"I gotta agree with you there, for once."
>"With a name like HERschel..."
"Says the man who likes to ogle women to sate his own lust." You say with a grin.
"I-Hey!" Krieg snaps. "Don't compare me to that baby on the floor! I am a ladies man!"
"Oh, really? I bet Zephyr wasn't happy walking through the hall in her undies." You reply.
"T-That was a setback! How was I supposed to know the boss was coming back?! I swear, she's hot, but she's a cantankerous old bitch!" Krieg puts a hand to his face as he shakes his head. "Seriously, she'll grow gray hairs at this rate."
"Gray hairs, huh?" A voice belonging to a certain woman spoke behind you. "And you think I'm, what was that word again?"
"Cantankerous." You supply.
"And what's that mean?"
"Basically means bad-tempered." You say again.
"Right." Lora walks out and stops in front of a terrified Krieg. "So, you're saying I'm a bad-tempered old bitch, am I right?"
"N-NO!" Krieg yelps in fear. "I-I was kidding! You know I was kidding, right, Kilne? T-Tell her!"
"No, I think that's what you just said. You called her an old bitch." You smile.
"Brat, leave us. Me and Krieg have words to speak." Lora cracks her knuckles.
"On my way!" You quickly leave the hall and emerge outside as sounds of pain can be heard from within.
Where do you go now?
>Go to the post office.
>Visit the park.
>Check back on Celine.
You decide you need some air after that hassle in the guild, so you head to the park to clear your mind of thoughts. Especially thoughts of Herschel, Krieg, Maria, and sticks.
Grandale Park was always a sight to behold. Trees all around, a beautiful pond, and flowers in full bloom. Truly, this was close as paradise for someone like yourself.
You find a bench and sit down on it, leaning back and admiring the view. "This is a good day."
"I agree." A female's voice can be heard next to you. You turn to see a very pretty blonde girl with forest-green eyes, clad in a blue dress. "Today is such a beautiful day outside, don't you think?"
"Why, yes. It is." You reply with a smile. "I don't think I've ever gotten your name, miss..."
"Elsie. Elsie Malder." She smiles at you.
Malder? Wait a second...
"I have a friend who has the same family name." You reply.
"You know big brother Herschel?" Elsie looks at you expectantly. "You're friends with him?"
>"More or less..."
>"...You're Herschel's sister?!"
>"I wouldn't call us 'friends'."
>"We're co-workers, though with business and such I don't see much of him."
I'm sure he's convinced his sister he's a hero, lets not shatter the girls illusions, while also not praising him if she knows how he actually is.
"...More or less." You reply. "Did you come here to see your big brother?"
"Oh, yes! It took me a while, but I'm finally here to see my brother! I can't wait to see him again." Elsie smiles warmly as she clasps her hands.
"Well, I can take you to the guild to see him, if it's not too much trouble." you sigh.
"Oh, thank you so much." Elsie bows to you. "I would appreciate it greatly."
You get off the bench and lead Elsie towards the guild. You just hope the boss has finished
'talking' to Krieg by then.
"Mister- Oh, I forgot your name!" Elsie exclaims.
"Kline! What is the guild like?" The blonde smiles.
"It's full of lively people that love to have fun." you remark.
"I see... Much like some of the members of my family." Elsie sighs. "Do you have any friends there?"
"Yeah, there's Evelyn, Dorga, and Clara." You state.
"Can I meet them as well?" She asks you. This girl seems unreal to you.
"If they're around, then yes." You then see the guild in view. "Well, here we are." You strain your ear to hear noises. There are none, meaning it was safe to go in.
You and Elsie enter the hall, the girl taking in the sights. "This is a nice place..." She says to herself.
It wasn't that special, really.
"E-Elsie? Elsie, is that you?!" You see Herschel emerge from the barracks, with his gob-smacked face looking at his sister and you. "Bueller, what the fuck are you doing with my sister?"
>"We're on a date."
>"I just brought her here to you."
>"We just got married, and we came to tell you."
"Well, we were on a date, of course!" you grin, enjoying the look of rage on Herschel's face as you continue. "But in all seriousness, I just brought her here to you."
"Brother!" Elsie jumps into his arms, giving him a big hug. "I'm so happy to see you!"
"Elsie, you should not be here! This is a bad place! This is a place filled with madmen, cutthroats, evil people, and perverts! They would love to do bad things to girls like you!" Herschel stammers nervously.
"I can take of myself!" Elsie pouts. "I came here all the way by myself!"
"I thought you liked to do bad things to girls," You chuckle.
"What? Brother, what does he mean by that?" Elsie narrows her eyes at Herschel.
"Nothing! He doesn't mean anything by that!" He cries out, then turns his glare upon you, hissing out something that sounded like, "Shut up, Bueller, or I'll kill you!"
"Well, I gotta go. I'll leave you two sibs alone." You head towards the barrack when Herschel stops you.
"You wait just a goddamn minute, Bueller! You're not weaseling your way out of this!" The Rogue growls at you.
"Shouldn't you be catching up with your sister?" You reply.
"Elsie isn't supposed to be here! You're going to take her back to the inn right-" He is cut off by an angry-looking Elsie who is glaring at him.
"Brother, stop bullying Mister Kline!" She puts her hands on her hips.
"I-I wasn't bullying him, I was telling him to take you back-"
"I just got here! And I want to spend the day with you! Stop being so rude!" Elsie prods her finger into his chest. "Do you understand?"
No wonder Herschel was such a wuss when it came to women. Even his female family members treated him like one.
"I understand... Sorry, Bueller." He moves aside and lets you pass. You quickly head into your room and close the door, the noises of arguing siblings fading into the background.
What do you do?
>Get some sleep.
>Read a book.
>Go pester some guildmates.
You walk over to the bookshelf and pull out your favorite storybook about the adventures of a plucky young squire and his horse. You loved these kinds of stories; they were your favorite as a kid.
As you read the part about the horse floating in the air towards the flying castle, you wonder if you can't get Evelyn to make levitating shoes for you? It seems like a good thought.
You wish you had a pipe, just so you could be like you dad whenever he read a book. Just thinking about that makes you feel a bit homesick. You let out a sigh as you read on, getting towards the part about the squire being chased by a love-crazed faerie. That was always hilarious.
Suddenly, there's a knock on the door. "Mister Kline?" It was Elsie, apparently she won the fight. "Can I come in?"
You sit up and open the door, letting the blonde in. "Thank you. Oh, your room is just nice..."
"It's nothing, really." You shrug.
"But I- Oh, is that the adventures of the young squire you're reading?" The blonde smiles at you. "I have that too!"
You chuckle. "So, what happened with your brother?"
"My brother told me that you'd take care of me while he's away on a mission tomorrow." Elsie smiled at you.
"That's... nice." You say hesitantly.
"Is something wrong?" Elsie asks.
>"I have something to do tomorrow."
>"You said you wanted to meet my friends, right?"
"So, did you say you want to see my friends?" you ask.
"Why, yes. But I thought you said they were away?" Elsie asks.
"I didn't. Some of them are still around. Let's go see them." You take Elsie's hand and head towards the women's barracks. You prayed Maria or Zephyr weren't there to see you.
You shake off the chills as you pass by the cleric's and archer's rooms, making a beeline towards Evelyn's room and knocking on her door.
"Yes?" Eve's voice rings out.
"Eve? It's me. I got someone here that wants to meet you." You reply, as the door opens to reveal Evelyn in her nightgown, scratching her head as she casts her gaze upon Elsie.
"Who in the world is that, Kline?" Evelyn blinks.
Evelyn just stands there for a moment before she bursts into laughter. You and Elsie both stand there, confused.
"O-oh, gods! Herschel h-has a little sister? T-That explains so much!" She gasps loudly as she tries to calm down. "I-I'm sorry, I am so sorry, miss..."
"Elsie." You reply.
"Are you sure she's your friend?" Elsie looks at you with concern on her face.
"Of course she is. She's one of the most nicest people I've met." You reassure her.
"How nice of you to say that," Evelyn sarcastically replies.
"Ok, enough tomfoolery. Can you do me a favor and look after Elsie for a bit tomorrow?" You ask.
"You're kidding, right? Of course I'll look after her." Evelyn smiles.
"Mister Kline, are you going somewhere?" Elsie asks.
"Well, I've got class tomorrow. But I promise we'll spend the day touring the town after I'm done." You pat her head.
"I understand, Mister Kline." Elsie nods, smiling.
"Great, now that's all and done with, can you please leave before-"
"Well, well, look what we have here." A familiar voice rings out as Zephyr clad in, thankfully, some shorts and a shirt, walks up to you and smirks. "Looks like we've got a peeping tom."
>"Says the lady undressed like a street walker."
>"Think about the children!"
"Great merciful gods, woman! Think about the children!" You frown at Zephyr. "Do you want them to be like you?"
"Hello, Zephyr." Evelyn says flatly.
"Oh, please. Everyone would kill to see me like this." Zephyr gestures towards her chest, which is... well-endowed. "Besides, we're all girls here. Except for you."
"What do you want, Zephyr?" Evelyn snaps in a sharp tone.
"Hey, don't be like that. You're lucky I'm not Maria. She's not forgiving as I am." The archer snorts as her smile grows bigger. "Tell you what, I'll let this slide if you do me a favor."
"What favor?" You sigh.
Zephyr tosses a note to you. "Take this to Krieg for me."
"That's all?" You ask, incredulously.
"Yeah." Zephyr nods. "Now beat it before I decide to awaken the blonde beast from her nap and sic her on you."
"See you later, Kline." Evelyn sighs as she takes Elsie into her room.
You wave goodbye and quickly head back to the men's side. Damn Zephyr and her stupid crush.
What do you do?
>Deliver the note to Krieg.
>Go back to your room.
>Head to the guildmaster's office.
"Damn it to hell," You mutter as you walk towards Krieg's room and knock on his door. "Telegram for Mr. Redbert!"
"What the fu- You!" Krieg glares at you. "You son of a bitch, you sold me out!"
"Ah, ah! I bring good news to you, my friend." You say the last part bitterly, handing him the note.
Krieg snatches it from you and reads it. Then he smiles so wide that it almost threatens to split his face in half. "She still wants me! Tonight, even! Tonight, tonight, hot damn, tonight!"
"Better not keep her waiting," You reply.
"Yeah, yeah, now beat it!" Krieg slams the door onto your face. Well, with that problem solved, you head down to your room and go inside. The bed greets your tired bones, giving you the most comfiest embrace you've ever felt. You'll need for tomorrow's lesson.
You feel absolutely on your A-game as you head down to the training grounds, prepared for the worst Claudine has to offer you.
"Master, I'm here!" you shout. The field was eerily quiet. "Master?" You take a few steps and look around. "...Claudine?"
Suddenly, a tingling feeling is bitting at your neck. Instinctively moving to the side, you roll along the ground just in time to avoid being run through by Claudine.
"Nice one, kid." She spits on the ground. "Now do that for the next 29 times."
>"You're kidding, right?"
>" Is this another test?"
>" Have mercy."
"You-" You mentally remind yourself that now is NOT the time for talking. Your body tenses up as she vanishes in front of your very eyes. This is not good.
You have to be calm and focus on where her next attack is going to come. The tingling feeling rises up again as you move to the left this time, seeing Claudine's blade nearly graze your stomach.
This was going to be a trial from hell.
After you managed to dodge nearly all of her sneak attacks, you pant heavily, your head pounding like a drum. This was it. Her final attack. But where would it come from? You close your eyes and prepare to move to the...
>jump over her
Unless this is like some Star Wars tier shit and we can Force Jump multiple stories, that's either going to get us gutted, or we're just going to ram into her.
Right into her firm chest.
You could either move left or right, but your master would've predicted it coming. Your battle instinct is tingling, feeling the presence drawing closer. It's now or never!
Your bend your knees and jump into the air and do a somersault, landing behind Claudine. She turns around and slashes at you, but you duck down and tackle her legs, sending her onto the ground.
You quickly pin her down and place your blade near her neck. "I win." You grin.
"Huh. You want a medal or something?" Claudine replies, sounding bored. She then spits on the grass near her.
>"...Why do you spit on the ground?"
>"I want you to acknowledge me."
>"Have I passed your test?"
Then she's already won. Time to pack it in, there's nothing we can do. Best we just go home and learn to be a good househusband for our Onee-chan.
Ask how much she was holding back.
"No, I want to know if I surpass your expectations." You reply. "And one more thing. Why do you always spit on the ground?"
Claudine pushes you off of her and brushes herself off. "Have you ever tried eating a bloodberry before, kid?"
"N-No..." You look at her, confused. Bloodberries were downright sour, and were often used as monster repellent or pest killers. No one in their right mind would even eat one.
"Bloodberries remind me of living life to one's fullest. They remind me of being alive and experiencing what trials await us. One shouldn't learn and fight for just to be strong, be above someone, and look down on others. One must use this knowledge in order to survive and ensure that your comrade survive as well." She pauses as she spits on the ground again.
"That's what bloodberries remind me of." She finish as she spits out the bloodberry in her mouth and chucks it away. "Time to get some more."
"...I see." You nod, taking this information in. "Thank you, Master."
"Don't sweat it. As long as you keep honing your skills, you'll might be a force to reckon with. Until then, just keep polishing." Claudine stretches her arms and yawns.
What do you say?
>"When's my next lesson?
>"I know where you can get some more bloodberries."
>"Can I leave now?"
"When's my next lesson?" you ask.
"Soon as I can find a fresh batch of Bloodberries." Claudine mutters.
"There's a store that sells them, Celine's." You offer.
"Holy shit, really? Why didn't I notice that?" She murmurs. "I've been lurking around the forests all this time and I never found one-" She stops as she gets a dark look on her face. "Oh, hell no."
"Master?" You ask.
"Time to pay that shop a visit." Claudine clenches her fists and storms off. You quickly follow her, hoping to stop whatever she is about to do.
You see Celine's shop come into view as Claudine kicks open the door. "All right," She snaps. "Where's the owner of this damn place?"
"Excuse me, but what gives you the right to act like a wild animal in MY store?" Celine comes out, carrying a broom. "You will act like a proper customer or-"
"Where's the bloodberries at?" Claudine glares at Celine. "What did you do with them?"
"Bloodberries? Is that what this is about?" Celine huffs. "Honestly, people at this day and age still eat those nasty things. I swear, you'll make yourself sick!"
"Only those that can't handle it," Claudine snorts. "I bet you can't even handle just one."
You enter the shop and see your master and friend arguing.
>Try to break it up.
>Ask Celine where the unprocessed berries are.
"Master," You interrupt. "What's so important about how bloodberries taste?"
"For one thing, the insides only get sweeter if you chew on them long enough and spit the juices out." Claudine frowns at you. "That's why many people are quick to dismiss them as not worth eating. It's a damn shame."
"Yes, but don't you basically spit blood-colored juice if you do that?" You ask, as Celine huffs and heads into the back.
"That's how bloodberries get their name, kid." Claudine rolls her eyes. "Why do you think they're called that?"
"The color of their skin?" You see Claudine grown as she facepalms.
"And you call yourself my student. You're not very smart, kid." She crosses her arms.
"I lived in a remote village, master." You state this in a flat tone.
"Yes, but does that excuse not getting better teaching?" Claudine raises a brow at you.
Suddenly, Celine appears with a bag of bloodberries in hand. "Here you go. Your precious bloodberries." She sarcastically replies. "That'll be 20 gold."
"You expect me to pay that?" Claudine frowns.
"Here you go, Celine." You hand her the money and give your master her treats.
"Thank you, Kline." Celine says and turns to Claudine. "And I don't care if you're Kline's friend or teacher, next time you kick my door down, you're going to regret it."
"Whatever. Come on, kid, let's beat this shack." You and Claudine leave the general store and head back to the grounds.
You are sitting on the grass, closing your eyes and meditating as your master told you to do. You feel drowsy and drowsy...
And you wind up in a world with a pink bubblegum sky and orange grass. The hell?
